Implementing IAM
Feb2011, We are going to start the Oracle Identity and Access Management project IAM, very less time remaining. What latest stable version of connectors(for Microsoft AD, EBS r12, Exchange, etc) , IAM product version should we use for the project.
If you ask I'll suggest OIM 9102 Bp15.
But if you ask latest then I would suggest OIM 11g. ;-)

I am trying to understand how IAM services can be deployed on cloud.Setup a EC2 instance, download the install files, and install the IdM product of your choice. You IAM service is now deployed in the cloud.
Or get a subscription to one of the various cloud-based IdM solutions from Ping, JanRain, etc.
Again, if you can't be more specific about what it is you are trying to do, there isn't much help anyone can provide.

Problem in displaying the o/p of report

i want to build a similar report as this one but in my report i want to enter more than one currency values in currency field (for ex: i want the report o/p for USD,INR & EURO on the same output screen with all the currencies which i have entered. there should be seperate column for each currency value)
in the report (mcta) it accepts only one currency and gives the o/p for that currency.
now i know how to enter multiple currency values in the selection screen (thanx to one of our friend)
SL_WAERS is the parameter for currency (see line 42 of your standard report).
Line 42: SELECT-OPTIONS: SL_WAERS FOR RMCS0-AWAER1.
now i am having the problme of displaying the output.
i want the logic for displaying the report with all the currency (seperate column for each one of them) if possible the code also( as iam still a learner)
i think i need to do some changes in the logic which displays the data on the screen but in which part of the program to do and what logic to be implement iam unable to get that.

i think the select-options is the best way to get more then one currency values.
but i need to know what code i have to write for display of this day.
in the standard report MCTA there he is using only one currency. similarly i need to add 2 more columns for each currency in that same report o/p.
how to do that can any body help me

How can I implement Multi Factor authentication with IAM products?
Hi I would like to implement multi factor authentication that can be made generic with all IAM produts. Can anyone suggest an MFA factor like that? It shudnt be an add on or plug in. Instead it should be an in built feature. Can anyone suggest any idea?
Opensso has such feature built-in. You can create an authentication chain in which you can add as many authentication mechanisms as you need.
Although it is a built-in feature, there's no full support for all sorts of authentication methods. Some of them exist as plugins, like authentication modules for smart cards and biometrics because they are not sold by Sun Microsystems. However, there's a solution for you requrement even tough you might add some auth modules as plugins like biobex, activcard or auth modules from other vendors.

How to implement logging functonolity in my java application

alex1) Put the Apache Commons Logging jar into your "lib" folder.
2) Create your properties file as "log4j.properties"
3) Keep it inside the folder where you have your "src" (ie. ur "src", "classes", & "log4j.properties" should be in the same folder)
4) Import "org.apache.log4j.Logger;"
5) Create an instance of "Logger" as follows;
Logger log = Logger.getLogger(YourClassName.class.getName());
6) Use the created "log" instance when applicable as follows:

log.debug("Whatever the message");
log.error("Whatever the message");

How to do implement the FrameAccess.java code in my project
Iam doing an project in java for inserting the videos into oracle9i and searching the inserted videos using the frames of the videos inserted.I have done the project to insert and search the videos.But i have been asked to put an EXTRACT button to extract all the frames of the video being inserted.Please help me to implement the FrameAccess.java coding in my existing coding.I have pasted my coding(VideoInsert.java) and FrameAccess.java(used to extract frames) coding.
The VideoInsert.java when executed will contain browse button to choose the video file(only .mpg files) to be inserted into the database.After selecting the file and when we press open button in the Open dialog box,the video will be played in jmf player in a separate window and the filepath of the video will be included in the textbox.Now what i need is,an extract button should be placed and when it is clicked,the frames of the corresponding selected video has to be extracted in the location where the project files are stored i.e.,the FrameAccess.java coding has to be executed.
Please help me if anyone knows how to implement the above concept.

DKInstead of registering the plug-in can u try placing it in the plugins folder under Oracle_IDM1/server folder.
at times restart is required. esp when the server is running in production mode.

Charm in implementation project

Iam currently configuring charm in implementation project. We do not have QA and PRD systems build yet.
I have created transport routes DEV>VQA>VPR ie with QA and PRD as virtual systems.
Now how do I add this as virtual systems in logical component. If I create entry in SMSY manually, tomorrow when my QA and PRD systems are available, how do I change it?

For demo system you can create three additional clients say 100>dev, 100> QA, 300> PRD and 500> solution manager ( that will be your original client).
you can create logical component for the same in SMSY and also you need to set up the transport route accordingly.
you can test the entire charm functionality this way.
When you would be having your actual systems you can create another logical component and project for the real scenario in solution manager and adjust the transport routes and you can still keep the demo system active alongwith real system scenario in case you want that.

Iam trying to create a new implementation for this BADI BBP_PD_DOWNLOAD as zbbp_pd_download but when iam trying to activate it .iam getting a message that already active implementation is there and i cannot create a new implementation unless i deactivate the other one.since it is a standard one i cannot deactivate it .

After you call the IMG activity, the system displays a dialog box where you enter a name for the implementation.
If implementations of this Business Add-In have already been created, the system displays them in a dialog box. You then choose one of them by choosing Create, and continue as follows:
1. In the dialog box, enter a name for the implementation of the Add-In and choose Create. (Say ZBADI)
The system displays the initial screen for creating Business Add-In implementations.
2. On this screen, enter a short description for you implementation in the Implementation Short Text field.
3. If you choose the Interface tab, you will notice that the system has filled in the Name of the Implementing Class field automatically, by assigning a class name based on the name of your implementation.
4. Save your entries and assign the Add-In to a package.
5. To edit a method, double-click its name.
6. Enter your implementation code between the method <Interface Name>~<Name of Method>. and endmethod. statements.
7. Save and activate your code. Navigate back to the Change Implementation screen.
Note: You can also create an implementation for an Add-In and not activate it until later. If you want to do this, do not carry out the following step:
8. Choose Activate.
When the application program is executed, the system carries out the code in the method you wrote.
