Import java class from model package

I have a java class in model package.I create a managed bean in the view package and I want to import the first java class with "import model.class1" but this error "import model.class1 not found" is shown.What should I do?

Hi,
Why are you importing the Model classes to your backing bean? You should not be doing that. Instead, expose the method in model as client interface (whichever you want to call in the backing bean), create the method binding in your pagedef. Then, from the backing bean, you can execute the method programatically.

  • How to run a java class from its package directory

    Hi,
    I hope someone can help me on the following ....
    Let say I have a Test.java class with the package definition: "package com.ams.eai.mq.fileAdapter;". I compiled the class into the directory c:\myJava\client\com\ams\eai\mq\fileAdapter. I have c:\myJava\client specified in my classPath and Path. Why is it when I go to the mentioned directory and enter at the prompt >java Test, I get java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: test (wrong name: com/ams/eai/mq/fileAdapter/test).
    What directory am I supposed to be in to run my Test class ? Is there some other path that I need to specify but didn't ?
    Thanks for any help.

    You have to type out the fully qualified class name:
    java com.ams.eai.mq.fileAdapter.Test
    Even if you had the entire dir structure, "c:\myJava\client\com\ams\eai\mq\fileAdapter" in your classpath you'd still have to fully qualify the name of the "Test" class. What if there was another class named "Test" in a different package in your CP? The VM would have no way of knowing which "Test.class" you'd want to run.

  • How to import a class from a package at the same level

    Hello friends,

    package org.vaibhav.swing.plaf;
    import java.awt.*;
    import javax.swing.*;
    public class Plaf {

    I have one more class as
    package org.vaibhav.swing.frames;
    import java.awt.*;
    import java.awt.event.*;
    import javax.swing.*;
    public class StartFrame extends JFrame implements ActionListener {
    other code
    }and this class is in package org.vaibhav.swing.frames
    Please hlp me how to use the class Plaf in StartFrame.java. Rather what import statement should i use in StartFrame.java.

    but it then gives me this error
    StartFrame.java:11: package org.vaibhav.swing.plaf

    import org.vaibhav.swing.plaf.*;
    Have you first compiled Plaf.java and saved it in this directory strucuture
    /org/vaibhav/swing/plaf/
    And also have you set your classpath to the parent directory of org folder.

  • How to import custom classes from model to view controller in adf?

    hi...
    i have some custom classes in model layer in adf.
    i want to use them in view controller but i cannot import them.
    how is this possible?
    my jdev version is 11.1.1.5

    You normally don't have to do anything special. The view controller project has a dependency to the model project. So simply typing the class name should show you hte option to generate the need import statement for the class.
    However, not all classes which reside in the model project should be imported into the view Controller as it might break the MVC pattern.

  • Problem When Import Java Class -compilation error

    Hi all
    I made a java class that has methods to return Screen width and Height .
    package tarek;
    import java.awt.Dimension;
    import java.awt.Toolkit;
    public class Screen
    Dimension dim ;
    public Screen()
    dim = Toolkit.getDefaultToolkit().getScreenSize();
    public double getWidth()
    double w = dim.getWidth();
    return w;
    public double getHeight()
    double h=dim.getHeight();
    return h;
    I made the jar file " screen.jar" and make it ready to use in form builder
    I opened form builder and make import java class (From program>import java class>choose the class anc click import)
    The class now imported successfully and the PL/SQL package body is:
    PACKAGE Screen /* tarek.Screen */ IS
    -- DO NOT EDIT THIS FILE - it is machine generated!
    -- Constructor for signature ()V
    FUNCTION new RETURN ORA_JAVA.JOBJECT;
    -- Method: getHeight ()D
    FUNCTION getHeight(
    obj ORA_JAVA.JOBJECT) RETURN NUMBER;
    -- Method: getWidth ()D
    FUNCTION getWidth(
    obj ORA_JAVA.JOBJECT) RETURN NUMBER;
    END;
    Now I made a button on the form and i WRITE THIS CODE TO INVOKE THE CLASS on when_button_pressed
    DECLARE
         vScreen_Class ORA_JAVA.JOBJECT;
    BEGIN
         vScreen_Class := SCREEN.NEW;
    END;
    My problem is I have compilation error
    error 306 AT LINE 5 , COLUMN 25
    wrong number or types of argument in call to "NEW"
    I do not know what is the reason of this compilation error?
    Is it because the method in java return "double datatype" while in oracle return "number datatype"
    Please help

  • Import the classes in the package java.util

    I haven't taken a class in two years so I have ideas but am unsure of myself, and I most likely am way off base, but is this how you import the classes in the package java.util
    import java.util.*;
    I would appreciate anyone's help. I have a lot of questions.
    Thanks,
    rp

    My assignment is below so that you will know exactly what I am asking. I am being asked to create an instance of LinkedList. I know that this is a part of the java.util. So when you create an instance of LinkedList would that be similar to instance variables? or am I misunderstanding something. I have several ideas, so I will start with the first one.
    LinkList();
    I really appreciate your taking the time to answer my questions to help me to rebuild my confidence in doing this.

  • Importing  UI java classes in model project

    Dear All,
    Am using Jdeveloper 11.1.1.3 , I have a java class under UI and am trying to call this java class from the implementation class for an entity ... can i do that or this is not supported ?
    Thanks for all,

    DEAR John,
    am used to work on oracle developer and in oracle developer i can do what ever validations i need on the when-validate-item and show a message in the same pl/sql ,
    and this is what am trying to do ( even in a work around ) in the JDeveloper
    I'll try to explain my use case,
    I have a loan application module , and int that application i have a transaction page where the user can enter the payments for the applications... now the user normally enter the payments for the active ( not closed) applications so when the user specify the application number , i should check the status for that application if its closed or not and if its closed i should give a message for the client to warn him that this application is closed , i know i can do these validation when pressing the commit button but i need to know if i can do it on the attribute level

  • Importing a class from another context?

    Hi JSP techies,
    Im using RESIN and having a simple problem of figuring out how to import classes from another context, if Im using the right word.
    ie.
    My .jsp files are under $home/resin/doc/test dir. And in the jsp file, I would like to import a servlet class or a plain java class. But the servlet classes and all other classes are located under $home/resin/webapps/project/WEB-INF/classes/a/b/c
    Hence when I say
    <% page import="a.b.c.*" %>
    I get an error saying "a" not found.
    1. When I say "servlet classes are in a different CONTEXT", is that right? or is it just another directory?
    2. How can I make the jsp file import the classes from the servlets class path?
    Note: Ofcourse, when I copy the package to the
    $home/resin/doc/WEB-INF/classes dir, everything works fine. But thats simply not an efficient way to get around. Could anyone clear my doubts on this regd.?
    Thanks in advance.
    Arun

    Oh... I get it now. I'm sorry, I had you poorly misunderstood. You are trying to import servlets from another web app or servlet context. I would suggest you put servlets that are common to all web apps in the system classpath and not tie them to any particular web app. In other words create a package directory structure from the system's root directory or any where outside of any web apps and point the system classpath to the beginning of that directory structure. I have a similar thing going with Tomcat. I have a folder in my root called Java_Class which is in my classpath. I build all common utilities in this directory. So I have a com/craig/web structure that holds my AppServlet which is in package com.craig.web. This servlet is visible to all web apps via the Windows classpath. Servlets particular to an application like say an MusicOrderProcess servlet would reside in a package under the webserverhome/webapps/MusicStore/WEB-INF/classes directory where webserver home is the home directory of the webserver you are using. I've tested this across webservers as well (orionserver and Tomcat) and it works.
    From the prompt you include in your posts I am guessing that you are running on UNIX. Move your common servlets out of their respective web apps and into a common directory structure. Configure the UNIX $CLASSPATH (or is it $classpath?) environment variable to point to this sturcture and you'll be on your way!
    Post again if you have more questions!

  • Importing Java Class Question

    Hello,
    Sorry for such a newbie question and such a long post, I did remember how to do this before but now I can't for the life of me remember. Anyhow, I have a simple question about importing custom-made java classes, from another directory in the windows operating system. I have the classpath set, and also I realize that because the two files below are in the same directory theres no need for an import statement as Java will look for the class in the same directory.
    But I would like to know how the import statement is suppose to look to import a custom made java class from another directory, (assuming of course that I set the correct classpath)
    here's the java class location:
    c:\school\csc365\narcus.java
    //narcus.java
    import java.io.*;
    class narcus implements Comparable
    String firstName = "firstName";
    String lastName = "lastName";
         public narcus()
         firstName = firstName;
         lastName = lastName;
         public narcus(String f)
         firstName = f;
         lastName = lastName;
         public narcus(String f, String l)
         firstName = f;
         lastName = l;
    public String getFirst()
    return "first..";
         public int compareTo(Object e)
         return 1;
    Here's the location of the driver program thats suppose to use the narcus.java class
    c:\school\csc365\test.java
    //test.java
    //import statement? maybe import "c:\\school\\csc365\\*"; ?
    import java.io.*;
    class test
    public static void main(String[] args)
         narcus jim = new narcus();
         System.out.println("omg\n");
         System.out.println(jim.getFirst());
    And also, here is my classpath:
    PATH=c:\school\csc365\;c:\school\
    The classpath also points to the jdk libraries and few other directories but I didn't write that above, as it probably isn't relevant.
    I've tried the following import statements.
    import "c:\\school\csc365\\narcus.java";
    import "narcus.java";
    import "c:\\school\\csc365\\*";
    But I keep getting an error that says:
    test.java:1 <identifier> expected
    Any help is appreciated!

    Hi Folks,
    I am new to this forum, heard that interesting discussions always happens on this forum so immediately registered,don't want to miss any oppurtunity to participate in discussions.
    I have pretty much basic question regarding compiling and exceuting files in different packages.I have the following directory structure
    C:\Projects\WDPROEast\Development\CommonService\Code\Java from where java files stored in different packages as follows:
    com\wdpro\commerce\common\crm\dae\nautilus\adapter directory has java files in com.wdpro.commerce.coomon.crm.dae.nautilus.adapter package.
    com\wdpro\commerce\common\dae\exception has java files with package named com.wdpro.commerce.common.dae.exception.
    com\wdpro\commerce\common\dls\exception has java files with corresponding package name.
    com\wdpro\commerce\common\dto has java files under proper package name.
    com\wdpro\commerce\common\exception has java files with appropriate package name.
    com\wdpro\commerce\common\util has java files with package name. I am starting at Java Directory,want to compile and run file named a.java in com.wdpro.commerce.coomon.crm.dae.nautilus.adapter package with having all other java files on classpath as follows
    so I issued command for compilation as follows C:\Projects\WDPROEast\Development\CommonService\Code\Java>javac com/wdpro/commerce/common/crm/dae/nautilus/ada
    pter/a.java com/wdpro/commerce/common/crm/dae/nautilus/adapter/NautilusServiceUtility.java com/wdp
    ro/commerce/common/crm/dae/nautilus/adapter/URLReader.java com/wdpro/commerce/common/crm/dae/nautilus/adapter/
    b.java com/wdpro/commerce/common/dae/exception/*.java com/wdpro/commerce/common/dto/*.java
    com/wdpro/commerce/common/exception/*.java com/wdpro/commerce/common/util/*.java com/wdpro/commerce/common/dl
    s/exception/*.java It compiled greatly but when I issue command to run a.class file as
    C:\Projects\WDPROEast\Development\CommonService\Code\Java>java com/wdpro/commerce/common/crm/dae/nautilus/adap
    ter/UtilityAccesssit's giving following exception
    Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com/wdpro/commerce/common/crm/dae/nautilus/adapter/
    UtilityAccesssbut when I run a.java with the following command
    C:\Projects\WDPROEast\Development\CommonService\Code\Java>java com/wdpro/commerce/common/crm/dae/nautilus/adap
    ter/UtilityAccess com/wdpro/commerce/common/crm/dae/nautilus/adapter/NautilusServiceUtility.java com/wdpro/com
    merce/common/crm/dae/nautilus/adapter/URLReader.java com/wdpro/commerce/common/crm/dae/nautilus/adapter/Nautil
    usAccessUtility.java com/wdpro/commerce/common/dae/exception/*.java com/wdpro/commerce/common/dto/*.java com/w
    dpro/commerce/common/exception/*.java com/wdpro/commerce/common/util/*.java com/wdpro/commerce/common/dls/exce
    ption/*.javaSo my question do I need to add all required java files to path when required class files are under different packages?is it manadatory.
    I hope you understand my question,pass me any comments you may have.
    Thanks alot,
    Anu

  • Import java-classes in JSP-page

    Hi,
    I'm starting with JSP and with trying one of the first examples in the book "beginning J2EE 1.4" from wrox, i got following problem.
    i'm trying to import a java-class in the package CH03 with
    <%@ page import="Ch03.FaqCategories" %>but he didn't find the package Ch03.
    I try already many things and i have no idea of the cause of the problem. So it's difficult to give information that leads to the solution.
    Maybe helpfull is the direcory-structure:
    jsp-page: /Ch03/welcome.jsp
    java-classe: /Ch03/WEB-INF/classes/Ch03/FaqCategories.class
    If you need source-codes or other information, just ask.
    Thanks,
    Dennis

    Thank you,
    Your help was one step into the good direction and that problem is solved.
    The application work now with studio one, but if i try it to work it with a stand-alone tomcat server it doesn't work anymore. I go first try to solve this problem by my self or at least try to describe the problem more exactly, before i ask for new help.
    but if you have any idea, that's always welcome...
    with regards,
    Dennis
