Import local DCs into Development Configuration

Hi all.
I have some local DCs already developed. From now I have available NWDI Development Configuration and I want to export those local DCs to the Remote Development configuration.
I'm trying to implement/configurate a team development enviroment.
I try sharing the DC project (DTR option into Webdynpro perspective) but when I import the shared content to a project in another Developer Studio, the DC metadata is lost.
Its possible to move my local DCs to the Remote Development Configuration? If so, how can I do that?
Regards.
Gregory.

hi,
Follow the below mentioned steps:
Creating a New Development Component
       1.      Create a new Web Dynpro DC project.
You create an empty u201Ccontaineru201D for a Web Dynpro DC that does not yet have any functions. The new DC should include all relevant development objects of the local project.
Do not check in the newly created DC into the DTR yet.
Copying Packages from the Local Project
       2.      In the Web Dynpro perspective, switch to the Navigator view.
       3.      Select the local Web Dynpro project to be migrated and expand the project structure down to the source folder:  ® src ® packages.
       4.      Select all packages and from the context menu choose Copy.
Inserting Packages into the New DC Project
       5.      Now choose the DC project that was just created and expand the project structure in the Navigator view, again down to the source folder.
       6.      Select the Packages node and choose Paste.
The Add Files to DTR dialog box appears.
       7.      Choose OK to confirm your selection.
       8.      Assign an activity either by creating a new activity or by choosing an existing one.
Execute Reload
       9.      Switch to the Web Dynpro Explorer.
   10.      Select the project node of the DC project and choose Reload.
   11.      In the displayed dialog box, again choose Reload.
Reloadnow also reloads the Web Dynpro metadata into the new project.
Building the Project
   12.      Execute a local rebuild for the entire DC project. Choose the function Rebuild project.
   13.      If there are no errors in the task view, execute a DC-based build by choosing the function Development Component ® Build.

  • Importing Local DCs from hard disk into NWDS

    Hi..
I have a Local Webdynpro DC zipped file in my .dtc folder under a package folder (say com.sap).
I have extracted this file under this folder.
Now I need to extract this in my NWDS local development.
I am not using NWDI... I am using only Local DCs.
I want to import the file into a Webdynpro Local DC into my NWDS..
    Please provide your valuable suggestions...
    Thanks and Regards,
    Sayan Ghosh

    Hi Sayan,
Go to the Development Configurations Perspective(Window->Open Perspective->Development Configurations)-> Local Dcs->MyComponents->here you can see all your DCs, Right click on the DC->Create Project-> DC will be created. You can see that DC in the Webdynpro Perspective.
    Or
You can create the the new DC with the required name, once it is done then copy the src folder from the old DC to Newly created DC->Reload DC.

  • Importing LOCAL DCs of Service Component and UI Component TO DTR

    Hi dear SAP Community,
I tried to import my local dc's of a service component, a mobile ui component and an application component to our dtr without Nwdi.
    Result: 3 destroyed projects.
I tried to create a folder in the DTR and synced all the files and folder to the new dtr destination. But only half of my files were cut and pasted to the dtr workspace and the project folders on the dtr were allmost empty.
Is it possible to import local dc's to the dtr without using nwdi.
    Thank you in Advance.
    Best Regards Philipp

I am pasting an email response when I asked how to take locally developed DCs\SCs and put into NWDI's DTR.
I am not sure if by "our DTR", you are referring to a separate DTR like CVS or still SAP DTR .
I did this using the copy and paste feature in the Development Infrastructure. Once you imported the old and new track into your IDE, you can simply drag and drop a DC from one SC to another SC (even if the SCs are located in different tracks). Or you can use the copy and paste options from the context menu of the DCs in the Component Browser.
After this operation, the DCs are not zet in DTR. They are just stored locally on your disc (you can check this if the DC icon in Component Browser has an overlay icon which shows a blue house). Now you can add the DCs to DTR using the context menu action (called Add to Source Control). Please make sure that all required files are really added to the activity. The following folders including their subfolders and files have to be added to DTR: cfg, def, MOBILE-INF, src and .dcdef
I have used this method more to copy DCs from one track to another.

  • Can you import local tables into Oracle to query in Discoverer?

long time lurker, first time poster...
I've got a local list in excel of over 100k records. I want to bounce this list off our network's data in Oracle to add a few fields to my file. Is there a way to import the local list into Oracle (like I might using MS Access) so that I can query the data using Discoverer, and output my local list with the additional data I pull out of Oracle? Thanks so much for any assistance!

    Hi,
Create an external table in the database that points to the excel workbook then you will be able to query the excel workbook like any other table in Discoverer. You will need to create a database directory which points to the directory containing the excel workbook. You will also have to save the workbook in a csv format. But once that is set up you will be able to make changes in the excel workbook save them, then refresh the Discoverer workbook and immediately see the changed data in Discoverer.

  • Import local dc into NWDS

    Hi,
I have created a DC. I have some "used DCs" in it. I have done an export using File->Export.
I am not using NWDI. my project is just localdevelopmentabcprojectxyz.com
Can any body let me know how to import the same into my NWDS. When i did, I was not able to see the "DC MetaData node" at all. Everything else is present. The project shows all the views of a referenced DC, no syntax errors, works fine but i am not able to see the node.

  • Importing development components (DCs)  your development configuration

    Hi

Navigate to the folder “DC metadata/DC Definition/Used DCs” and add the Guided Procedure references (DCs) to your project by selecting the “Add Used DC” (right-mouseclick).Navigate to the compartment “CAF” and add the dependency for “caf/eu/gp/api (Public Parts - external)” with dependency type “Design Time, Build Time and Run Time” and the qualifier “weak”.
    caf/eu/gp/api
i want to import these two DC's also.

  • JDI: Cannot import development configuration into NWDS

    Hi everyone!
I am trying to setup and use the Scenario 2+ for the JDI.
    So far, I have
    1) created users and roles for the JDI
    2) created a software component called com.company/WeekNumber
    3) created a domain and a track in the CMS
    4) imported required SCs for the system
    All according to help.sap.com.
Now, when I start the NWDS I would like to import the development configuration to be able to start developing my components. But when I try to import the configuration, I get the error
com.sap.tc.devconf.SyncException: Import configuration failed:Could not create mountpoint for SC in compartment nordea.com_WEEKNUMBER_1: Checking existence failed for /dtr/ws/Week/nordea.com_WEEKNUMBER/dev/inactive/SCs/nordea.com/WEEKNUMBER/_comp/TopLevelDCs/(Internal Server Error)
    Please advise.
    Best regards, Peter

It solved itself after a restart of the NWDS. :o)

  • SAP NW Developer Studio: Problem with Import Development Configuration(DC)

    Dear Experts!
I have a problem with SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio when import a Developement Configuration.
I create a Software Component(SC) in SLD( with Dependencies:  SAP J2EE Engine, SAP Java Tech Service, DI BUILD TOOL, Then I create a Development Configuration(DC) and add this SC.
On SAP Netweaver  Developer  Studio I import this DC. I see on the Component Browser My DC include: my software conponent , and SCs: SAPJEE, SAP_BUILDT, SAP_JTECHS but in DC detail there are nothing. So I cannot create the Development Component
Please help me resolve this issue.
    Thanks all

    Hi,
you cannot see the DCs (for SCs like SAPBUILDT, JTECHS, JEE, etc) in NWDS, because there is nothing imported into the buildspace(s) DEV (and cons).
You need to go to the http://<host>:<port>/devinf -- CMS webui, to the Transport Studio, go to the Check-in tab, and check-in all the software you can see in the queue (which you have also added previously in SLD for your software) . This is a quick process, you'll see your software moved to the Development tab and waiting for import.
Import all the components. This can take longer. As soon as all of them finished, you can open up your NWDS again. In order to see the DCs this time when you expand the corresponding node, you need to reimport (but at least) update the development configuration  (you do it in NWDS in the context menu of the development config in question).

  • Importing Development Configurations in NWDS

    Hi All,
I am using NWDS for ESS Development. I need to import the development configurations to my local installation. When I choose the remote option and tried to connect to the JDI DC pool link. All the preferences settings for J2EE and JDI have been done.
I get an error saying " Getting Imput Stream failed " Unable to open connection to <dtr> Port .......CMS Exception ............
Please help me what is a problem in this. Do I need to have any access permission to do this.. I have a user id to DTR.
    Thanks,
    Sangeetha

    Hi Abhijit,
Thanks for the direction. Really the mentioned thread , it is very helpful.
I checked the CMS Connectivity. In CMS for this particular track, I am not able to find out the Development tab entries. I am not clear about this.
Entries here does it depends upon the individual user id access issue ? because this track was being used for development already by earlier users.
What kind  of permission I do require to get this corrected in CMS.
Any hints would be really helpful.
    Thanks & Regards,

  • Getting an error while importing Development Configuration file (NW 2.0)

    i,
while importing a development configuration file for Webdynpro (  SAP NW 2.0 ), i am getting an error
"Getting Input Stream Failed-> Unable to find the host ..."
But i can ping to the server and tr is also working .
i could see Active and Inactive Objects
Any access permission is needed to download a configuration file.
or whatis the reason for this error.
any preconditions have to be done for importing a configuration file ?

    You can try the following:
    1. try the fully qualified domain name of the DTR server host in NWDS Preferences->Development Configuration.
    2. Are your WAS and JDI are on a higher SP level. That may cause the problem
