Importing a class that is stored online

I hope this is the right forum... appologies if not.
I am wondering how to access classes that are stored on the internet.
I own the domain www.l4eclan.com. I created a package (I think) of classes on it, but I can't figure out how to access the classes in that package.
The url of the package is located at:
Code:
http://www.l4eclan.com/minion
Right now, there are 2 files in it: alignment.java and alignment.class. Each has "package minion;" at the top of it.
I tried accessing the class with "import com.l4eclan.minion.*;" and "import com.l4eclan.*;" but neither worked.
Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong?

So it's not possible for Java to read classes that
aren't stored on the local machine?Not with the import statement.
The whole point of this program is to read classes
stored in that directory on the internet... not to
read them from the local machine.Then you have a problem.

  • How to import a class that is in the database?

    Here's the picture: I have a server running on a machine and the client side is a stored procedure located in the database. Instead of writing multiple parameters on the stream, I send a Map of parameters. Therefore, both sides of the server needs to "know" the keys of my parameters in the Map. So I end up declaring constants in both the client and server class.
    Is there a way for the server to import the static content of the client class that's in the database? ( Or vice-versa )
    Thanks in advance!

    Is this a JDBC question?
    Meta data solutions mean that you will only find problems at runtime that would be obvious at compile time with a non-metadata solution. Code generation makes production of large numbers of these easy.
    But if you want metadata then you create a seperate class in a seperate package which holds the constants. The specifics depend on the implementation but you will typically have one class for each 'type' that is supported.
    That package is used by both the server and the client code.
    You can of course put other common functionality in the package (like a wrappers for the collections themselves, validation of names, etc.)

  • How to import a class that have no package

    I have .class archive that i need to use in a web aplication on Tomcat. I put the class in the directory: <webapp>/WEB-INF/classes/.
    The class doesnt have a package, so when i tried to import (..page Import=".....") it, tomcat gave me an error because is looking for a package instead of the class.
    then i try to use it without the import and tomcat gave another error because it cant find the class.
    Any ideas??
    by the way.. I dont have the source code, I just have the .class archive..
    thank you....

    Also, I already found that the class had no package. Then you are out of luck.
    As of java 1.4 you can no longer import classes that are not in a package. [url http://bugs.sun.com/bugdatabase/view_bug.do;jsessionid=c85f07c1ce8f344d787b7a5146d68:WuuT?bug_id=4361575 ] Full details here
    The only solutions I can think of
    1 - get the people who originally gave you the class to package it properly.
    2 - Decompile it to java code, Change the java code to put it in a package and recompile it. Depending on the complexity of the class this may or may not be a trivial operation.
    Good luck,

  • How to import other class in Flex Builder2?

    I use Flex Builder2,I want to import the other class,such as
    ascb,like follows:
    package {
    import flash.display.Sprite;
    import ascb.units.Converter;
    import ascb.units.Unit;
    import flash.events.Event;
    public class ApplicationExample extends Sprite {
    private var _square:Sprite;
    private var _angle:uint;
    public function ApplicationExample() {
    _square=new Sprite();
    _square.graphics.lineStyle(0);
    _square.graphics.drawCircle(0,0,2);
    addChild(_square);
    _angle=0;
    addEventListener(Event.ENTER_FRAME,move);
    private function move(event:Event):void{
    var
    converter:Converter=Unit.DEGREE.getConverterTo(Unit.DADIAN);
    var angleRadians:Number=converter.convert(_angle);
    _square.x=Math.cos(angleRadians)*100+200;
    _square.y=Math.sin(angleRadians)*100+200;
    _angle++;
    ApplicationExample.as is locate in direcotry C:\workspace,and
    I put package ascb into directory C:\workspace too,then I run
    ApplicationExample.as ,it raise following error:
    Description:A file found in a source-path must have an

    to be externally visible, please put the definition in a package.
    Resource:Converter.as
    In Folder:ApplicationExample/ascb/units
    Location:line -1
    By the way,when I write import ascb.,it should show units,but
    it only show util, I guess I may put package ascb into wrong
    director,or the ascb don't put the route of Flex Builder2. I don't
    know how to do it!
    Please give me detail steps to solve above error!
    Thanks in advance!

    when I put as
    import a;
    while compiling, it prompt : '.' expected
    how to resolve it?
    thanksIn J2SDK 1.4, you can only import a class that is in a named package. The compiler is expecting a package_name.class_name;
    You do not need to import classes that are in the same package and all classes that do not specify a package name are in the same unnamed package. However you must import classes that are in different packages.

  • Import a class directly in classpath,without package.

    In jdk1.3, I can
    --------------------------- import MyClass;
    MyClass is in my classpath.
    But in jdk1.4,
    --------------------------- import MyClass;
    cannot been compiled success.
    exception: "." expected.
    Why?

    That's right. Importing a class that wasn't in a
    package was always pointless, and in 1.4 it's actually
    illegal.I am not as certain that I believe in the 'pointless' part.
    As it stands now, a class that does not have a package can not be used in a class that has a package. Not that that is a great loss, but the result certainly surprised me.

  • Import  a class

    Hi all,
    i previuosly work with jbuilder 6 and i import a class (that locate in the project root directory and not include in any package) in the following way:
    import ClassName;
    and its compiled fine.
    when i start to work with Jbuilder2005 and also with netbeans,
    it refused to accept this kind of statment and im getting a compilation error.
    is any can suggest how can i import a class that has not include in any package.
    Thanks
    Gabi

    You can build classes without packages (in the default package). What you're seeing is a change in the definition of the import statement between 1.3 and 1.4. It's no longer permissable to have an import statement refering to a class without a package. The effect of this is that you can no longer refer to a class in the default package from a class in another package, because just giving the class name assumes a reference to the same package the reference is in.
    There's no problem when one class in the default package refers to another, you simply don't need the import statement.

  • Import classes that are not part of any package

    I have this problem with the JDK1.4 compiler:
    I have a few classes that were created outside of any package for some JNI uses. When I used JDK1.3 to compile, I was able to get the compiler to find these classes by doing the following in the calling classes:
    import ClassOutSideOfPackage;
    Now that I am trying to use JDK 1.4, the compiler complains with the following error:
    "." expected
    import ClassOutSideOfPackage;
    I tried to take the import out and had no luck. The compiler complained that it can't find this class. What can I do or is the only solution to change the class to include it in a package and change all relavant JNI native calls... etc. Thank you.

    Removing the entire import statement should work. Check for a classpath problem if it
    doesn't. It is not necessary to place in a package and recompile, though.I tried your suggestion. However, it keeps complaining that it can't find the class. The class file resides in the current directory and I have "." at the beginning of my class path. I don't see anything wrong with the classpath. Did you have this working?

              The documentation does not say so. Or is there some configuration I have to make.

    I think was a side effect of the .jsp changing redeploys the web app in 6.0.
              When the web app was redeployed your directory structure was reread and thus
              it found your .tld.

  • How can I import my .mac address book from online to my computer?

    My macbook was stolen last week, and I am now using an older iBook that we had, but I haven't been able to retrieve my mail address book from the backups I was making. I have most of the contacts in my address book when using .mac web-based email, but not on my computer. I am afraid to turn on syncing because I don't want my computer to erase all the addresses stored online. How can I reverse sync, and get my online address book to import to my computer?
    Thanks.

    go to 'system prefernces > .Mac > advanced > reset sync data'
    Then choose to replace everything on your compu with .Mac data. (Back up before you begin! or is there really nothing to back up, then don't bother of course)

  • Importing my class files from another folder

    hello everybody ,im creating a software package for a new company and want to organise my class files into different folders so that it would be easier for someone to navigate through them and update if necessary ,how do i import an instance of a class in a file that is in a subfolder of the folder that contains the class that is calling it.(sorry for being a bit long winded) iv tried diff things and they didn't work.
    At the moment i have all the files in the one folder,but as i said above want to put them into appropriate folders.
    I would be very gratefull if someone could give me some examples and if not some appropriate links,thanks iv tried looking for this on the net but could not find anything.

    What you should probably do is to organise your classes into a heirarchy of packages not merely folders. Java expects the package structure to be reflected in the directory structure holding both the source and class files. If it's looking for a class called, say, com.mycompany.widgets.MainWidget it expects to find it in a directory com//mycompany/widgets relative the the directory on the class path.
    Use the package directive in each source file to indicate the package path.
