Importing date-time data from Excel file

I am running into problems importing date-times in the format 3/15/2010 9:30:00 PM using SQL Developer. At Step 1 of the Data Import Wizard, the data preview window displays all the date fields as Excel dates (e.g. 40252.89583 instead of 3/15/2010 9:30:00 PM). Can I get SQL Developer to recognize the data in their date-time format, rather than converting them to decimal values?

When importing from Excel, I haven't found a date format model that would convert their decimal number into an Oracle date. But the following seems to work well:
1 - Save the Excel page as a CSV file then in the SD import wizard you can enter the date format model for that column.
2 - In Excel convert that column to text. (Highlight your date column, Choose the "Data" menu item, in the "Data Tools" group choose the "Text to Columns" tool, click next / next / then select the "Text" button, click "Finish" and save your xls) Now in the SD import wizard just enter the date format model that matches the Excel 'text' column with your dates.
Either way seems to work for me.

I have a requirement where i have to upload data from excel file to ztable.I have used the fm 'ALSM_EXCEL_TO_INTERNAL_TABLE' for reading the excel file.After reading the excel file i have used INSERT zrb_hdr from table t_zrb_hdr for updating the ztable with data .
here it is giving error as the data base table zrb_hdr and the internal table t_zrb_hdr should be declared of same type .
I got this error b'coz i have changed the date and time fields in t_zrb_hdr table to char type.so the structure of zrb_hdr and t_zrb_hdr are not same.If i don't change the date and time fields,in the o/p i am not getting proper date and time formats.
now how can i upload data into ztable?

Data: itab type standard table of ztable,
         wa_itab type ztable.
loop at t_zrb_hdr into wa_t_zrb_hdr.
   wa_itab-date = wa_t_zrb_hdr-date.
   wa_itab-time = wa_t_zrb_hdr-time.
   like move all the fiedl to wa_itab...........
   append itab with wa_itab.
Endloop.
now insert the records from itab to the database table ztable.

BO Data Services - Reading from excel file and writing to SQL Server Table

I would like to read data from an excel file and write it to a SQL Server Data base table without making any transformations using Data Services. I have created an excel file format as source and created target table in SQL Server. The data flow will just have source and target. I am not sure how to map the columns between source and target. How can I transfer dates and locations from excel file to iCal?

I received an Excel file with dates and locations to visit for 45 days. Is there a way to transfer over to iCAL and then to iPhone?

How to import contacts into phone from Excel file?...

I have an N97 Mini. And I have an Excel file on my computer which lists my contacts. In separate columns I have their first names, last names, phone numbers, email addresses.I would like to import this file into my phone's contacts in one go, i.e. without having to enter each person manually. Does anyone know who this can be done?
(Also, in another folder I have a profile photograph of each contact. Is there some way I could also - in one go - add a profile picture to each contact in my phone's contacts?)
FYI: I have Ovi Suite and PC Suite installed on my computer, but it's not clear whether they could help with this. Thanks.

Import data from excel file

Hello.
Is anybody can help how to import data from excel file to the form created with designer 7.0. Originally there is a script inside the form to populate drop down list and depending from data selected in the ID number drop down list, there will be filled out the description and the prices text fields. But now I have to modify this form with data from excel file, which has more than 30000 lines and put all this data to script is too much.
So, can somebody know how can I after filling the ID number field , populate the description and price text fields with data from excel file corresponding to this ID number ?
This form is used in Adobe reader.
Any comments are welcome.

In cache section of NQSConfig file,
you find

set to NO
OR
if you are using data ware house as the source for OBIEE,
you know that when ETL is done, so just create iBot to purge cache automatically at that particular intervals,
So that report runs freshly at that time

You can check a working example package [1] (use your Adobe ID to log in)
After installing it, go to [2] for immediate example.
Unfortunately it only supports the old OLE-2 Excel format (.xls and not .xlsx)

Store data in mysql after reading from excel files

i am trying to make o program where i will read the data from excel files and i will store them in a database. I am using eclipse as editor and mySQL. I am using APACHE POI to read the excel files and JDBC for the connection. The excel files have the structure as shown below:

I have of course plenty of such files which contains many more rows and columns. The purpose of my program is to read the data, create table named as the name of the excel file and the fields of each table to be the first rows of the excel file. Afterwards the values will be the rest data of the excel file. In the code below i have managed to read them, show the data in the console. Afterwrds i am trying to call a database with JDBC but there i have problem when i create the table.

If you had saved your Excel file, then you may revert the Excel file to the last saved version. Follow below steps to do this:
On the File tab, click Open.
Double-click the name of the file that you have open in Excel.
Click Yes to reopen the Excel file.
If you had not saved Excel file, then follow below steps to recover your file.
Click the File tab.
Click Recent.
Click Recover Unsaved Workbooks.

First You have to download the jxl.jar file. You can get this file from the Below site

After Unzipping The File You will get a Folder (jexcelapi/jxl.jar)

On Left Side of the window You Will Find "Java Build Path"
Click That "Java Build Path" and you will get 4 Tabs Showing ( Source,Projects,Libraries,Order and Export)
Click Libraries Tab

In that click the Button "Add External Jars"
You will get Window in order to fecth the jxl.jar file from the location you had stored
After selecting the jxl.jar i will get displayed and click ok

Copy the jxl.jar to that lib folder
Note : You cannot Read the Content from the excel file directly
First You Have to copy that file to the Server,
And from the Server you can get the file absolute path
With the absolute path you can read the contents of the Excel file
You have to save the Excel file as .xls Format and Not as xlsx format i will not accept that...

Hi,
What you can probably do is, perform a consistency check on your data in the internal table and segregate all those rows that have inconsistent data (in your case, the field NEWBS containing albhabets) into another temporary internal table. Display the temporary internal table in an editable ALV grid saying that these data have not been inserted to the database, coz they have inconsistent data in the field NEWBS. Allow the user to edit and then save the data which will consequently refresh the internal table contents.
