Importing Webdynpo in to NWDS

Hello sdn
i have webdynpro project as a zip file and i want to import it into NWDS.Im unable to find a way to import it .
Please le me know how to import already exsted webdynpro project.

Hi
Please note that When u import from an existing project, that project should exist in the same location till u want to use that project in NWDS. So Unzip the project to any location, import into the studio by giving the path where u have unziped. This project will not be in the workspace. It will b there in the unzipped location and get updated there only.

    Hi,
Then check whether the dependencies are missing in SLD between Development Configuration (Design Time Configuration) and CMS
Select the problematic Design Time Configuration from the SLD->Administration -> Content Maintenance ->  Landscape Description and see in details whether Associated Instances  is '0'. If so, delete and set proper dependencies as per the JDI installation doc.
Then from the CMS, save the affected track. If 'restore system state' is asked for, do it after saving.
Thereafter, import dev. config in NWDS should work fine.

  • Importing .ear file into NWDS

    Hi Experts,
Do we have an option to import .ear file into NWDS directly? This ear file contains .war file. But I am not getting any option to do this import. Pls guide me.
    Thanks in Advance
    Mathur Saurabh

    Hi,
    Try in this way
Select the Appropriate Project as per you .ear file(WDA,JAVA,J2ee)
    If java project
    1) File--> New > Project>Java> Java Project> Project Name--> Choose the unziped Earfile path as the DictionaryPath.
If Enterprise Application Like(.war file and .jar)
File--> New > Project>J2eeProject> Enterprise Applicaion> Project Name--> Choose the unziped Earfile path as the DictionaryPath.
    Thanks,
    Sreeni.

  • Help in importing WebDynpro application to NWDS.

    Hi,
I need to customise an iview. These are the information i have -
    1.  platform of this ivew is WDJ.
    2. got codelink of the iview -com.sap.portal.appintegrator.sap.webdynpro
    3. got the corresponding par file.
    4. In the business package document, it says a folder name as the data source of this iview. i traced the folder of it.
now how do i move forward?
    1. When i imported the par file, it opened in the package explorer as a portal application project, but could not find any source code. How do i open it in WebDynpro perspective?
    2. how do i import all these (data source + par file) into NWDS so that i can view the code in the WebDynpro perspective...
I am already tired of searching the entire SDN.  Can some one help out to explain the steps in simple terms for me to move forward. I am in the process of learning this (portal customisation through WebDynpro Java).. kindly help :).
I am just trying out in the test system.hence decided not to use JDI.
    Thanks in Advance,
    Anto.

    Hi Antony,
As you mentioned WebDynpro application then there should be .EAR file not .PAR
and the procedure i gave you earlier is not applicable for .PAR (Portal Archieve)
for this please follow the following method.
if you want to test the application directly, login in to the portal and navigate to system administrator -> support -> portal runtime -> administration console and import the .par file and then create a new iview in portal content and select par file name and you can see the application.
if you want to see the code, import the .par file in EP Perspective and if it is a JSP Dynpro application, you can find the code in <b>\dist\PORTAL-INF\pagelet</b> folder.
Also <b>you can not see the PAR in WebDynpro perspective</b> you can only open it in EP Perspective.
hope now i got the right procedure for you. As per your Subject line, i quickly posted you the procedure to import webdynpro application to NWDS but in your case you are dealing with portal project.

  • Error while Importing Webservice Model in NWDS 7.0.13

    Hi Experts,
I am trying to Create Webservice Model (deprecated) in my Webdynpro Application using NWDS 7.0.13, using a WSDL which is hosted on PI 7.1.
However while resolving this WSDL, I am getting error "Unacceptable Choise Element Found. Choise can contain only model group with min/maxOccurs = 1".
Then I downloaded the WSDL, and changed the MaxOccurs = "1". After Importing this WSDL in my Webdynpro project, another exception got raised "Trying to Resolve qualified base " , here AcordMsgSvc is targetnamespace in  XSD which is ported in PI for this Service Interface
Please help me resolving these 2 errors -
    1) min/maxOccurs > 1 not allowed in NWDS 7.0.13 webservice model?? Do I need to install any plugins?

  • Error while importing Webservice Model in NWDS in java WebDynpro

    Hi All,
Our Project FileNet team has developed 1 web service and they have given us WSDL of that webservice. I have to use this webservice in my java webdynpro code. We have 2 different webdynpro DC, In one DC I have imported this webservice model as Adaptive web service model, that is I choosed create model  > Import Adaptive web service model->Local file system and URL (radio button)->No logical destinatination> and i pasted the WDSL url and imported the webservice, and i have done all the relevant coding and i am able to execute the webservice in my web dynpro code.
But today in 2nd DC when I am trying to import that webservice , I am getting the error (check the URL metioned below in bold letters , copy the URL mentioned below and paste in the browser, there I have attached the screen shot of my error), now I am not able to import the WSDL in my NWDS, help me in solving this error, why this error is coming now when i was able to import same webservice some days back in some other DC. Now NWDS is not at all allowing me to import the WSDL.

  • Importing PAR files into NWDS

    Hi Experts,
Some questions that I hope someone can verify:
    1. When we download a PAR file from Portal and import into NWDS, do references to JAR files not get imported? (for e.g. I see the Portal Logon component require adding of certain jar files)
    2. What are the differences between the PAR files in the following path (downloaded via System admin>support>Portal Runtime>Browse ):
    -ROOT/WEB-INF/deployment/temp
    -ROOT/WEB-INF/portal/portalapps
    Thanks,
    ZM

    Hi,
Whenever a PAR file is imported into the NWDS the JAR files will not be imported automatically. You need to copy it in the right location manually.
Regarding the second question , ROOT/WEB-INF/deployment/temp will have the complete PAR file (also I compared the size of logon PAR file)
    -ROOT/WEB-INF/deployment/temp --356234
    -ROOT/WEB-INF/portal/portalapps--4096
I guess the different path are for different necessity of the same portal application. While temp folder has the PAR file of the portal application, the portalapps might contain files and reference to launch the Portal application.
When you download from the portalapps folder you will not get the PAR file.
Any information on the second question are welcome..

  • Error importing *.SCA file into NWDS:  Import (into source SC) not possible

    All,
When attempting to import an SCA into a new project in NWDS, an "Import (into source SC) not possible: SCA doesn't contain DC sources" occurs.  Any assistance to fix this issue appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Lee

You can indeed import SCAs into local development configurations in NWDS (Eclipse). You have to have a pre-existing software component of the same name and vendor which may or may not be empty.
In the Development Infrastructure perspective in NWDS 7.1, just right-click on the software component you want to overwrite with the import and choose "Import".
To import SCAs into a CMS track in the NWDI, you have to go to http://<NWDI server>:5<nn instance no>00/devinf/ and import the SCAs from the transport inbox directory of the NWDI server. Don't forget to maintain the SLD if necessary.

    Hi Deepu,
Usually Server will be having all the jar files and If you want to deploy your par file using NWDS you need to give a path to your Jar file location.
So better download all the jar files from your server and keep it in your local desktop.
Create a new folder called "JarFiles" in your desktop and keep all of your jar files inside.
Download Jar finder from IBM Site ( search for "Resolving Java Classpath Issues" in SDN ,you will get a pdf and follow it.).Add it as a plugin to your NWDS path.
    Restart NWDS.
Now you can resolve the jar file issues.there are many weblogs /articles/forum QAs regarding this.
If u need more clarification, please let me know.
    Thank you.

  • Import .par file into NWDS and Run without deployment ?

    Hello All,

My Requirement is like this :-
    1. I need to create a Portal Application which calls an URL.
    2. But before developing this, my Client gave me one 2 options :
         a. He gave me a par file and asked me to make  changes in it.
         b. Create a new Portal Project which calls the URL ( Predefined ).

    hi Deepu,
for simply displaying a URL, you can use the commonly available URL iView.
your folder->new->create iView->iView from template->URL iView and then enter your URL
    for the other think.......
you can create an iView from PAR file.
your folder->new->create iView->Iview from PAR->then select your PAR and create an iView for that.
and the last one.......to see the effect without deploying it on the portal......refer the link
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/23/c0e240beb0702ae10000000a155106/content.htm
and the usual libraries to be associated are
    <b>htmlb.jar</b>  and
    <b>com.sap.portal.htmlbbridge.zip</b>
    Cheers........

    Hi,
Right clikc on your project in WD perspective>properties>References>Java Build Path>you would find the path for the jar files over here, just remove those entries and then set the correct path by selecting it from the list.

I already rebuild many times but its not getting solved.
    Kindly help me .

    Hi Abhishekh ,
Check whether is there a component with the name called 'AttendanceClaimComp', because if you create a message pool then it creates message class with the corresponding component name in which you have created message pool.
If it exists then close the DC once and open it, after opening the DC try Reload option available in context menu. It reloads the complete DC.

  • Importing EJB Model in NWDS

    Hi,<br>
There is a simple Stateless Session Bean which uses an external library (JAR); and there is only 1 business method with just 1 line of code:
    RecordEx r = null;
    <br>
RecordEx is one of the library classes;<br><br>
While trying to import this as an EJB Model in Web Dynpro DC in NWDS (7.1 EHP1 SP01 Preview Version), it fails with a NoClassDefFoundError;<br>
    Below are the steps followed;<br><br>
    1. Create an External Library DC "ext"<br>
1.1 Add the third party library to this DC<br>
1.2 Create public parts ppC (Compilation) & ppA (Assembly) and add the library to both of these<br>
          1.3 Build the DC<br>
    2. Create an Enterprise Application DC "util"<br>
2.1 Add Buildtime dependency to ppA public part of "ext" DC<br>
          2.2 Build & deploy<br>
    3. Create EJB Module DC "ejb"<br>
3.1 Add Buildtime dependency to ppC public part of "ext" DC<br>
3.2 Create a Session Bean (Stateless - Transaction: Container - Local Interface) <br>
3.3 Create 1 business method, and create an object of one of the library classes in it<br>
3.4 Add the business method to Local Interface<br>
          3.5 Check Component Properties > Permissions > Entity Forwarding<br>
3.6 Build the DC - there are no build errors; default client & ejbjar public parts are created;<br>
    4. Create an Enterprise Application DC "app"<br>
4.1 Add the "ejb" as Referenced Project<br>
4.2 Add "util" as Used DC with Deploy Time & Runtime dependencies; (informs "util" EAR DC has no public parts)<br>
4.3 Create a Compilation public part "EjbClasses" > Reference Entities > Select client public part of "ejb" DC<br>
          4.4 Build & Deploy the DC<br>
    5. Create a Web Dynpro DC "wd"<br>
5.1 Add dependency to the "app" EAR DC<br>
5.2 Add Buildtime dependency to ppC public part of "ext" DC<br>
5.3 Add "util" as Used DC with Deploy Time & Runtime dependencies;<br>
5.4 Import EJB Model Wizard > Select "app" EAR > Display 1 business method<br>
5.5 But when that method is selected & click Next, nothing happens in NWDS. The Wizard windows stays like that with no processing<br><br>
And the NWDS log has this NoClassDefFoundError:<br>
