Inbound XML IDOC to IDOC

I've searched the internet for solutions but I have not seen any solutions.  I'm trying to upload an XML IDOC (generated from SAP) back into SAP using IDOC_XML_FROM_FILE.  I've configured the my XML port to see the directory where the idoc is stored but I get an error message when opening the file.
Exception       FILE_OPEN_FAILED
Message ID:          E0                         Message number:           084
Message:
Error at OPEN '/USR/SAP/INTERFACES/TEST.XML' (check file)
I've setup this process using PI but this new setup will not use PI.  Is there something SAP has out of the box to make this process easier.
SAP ECC 6.0
Thanks,
Phil

  • Help in creation of XML file for IDOC postings

    Hi All,
Need help if anyone has knowledge/experience in creating XML files for IDOC processing.
We need to design an input file (in XML format) for creation of IDOCu2019s for purchase Invoices through Interface.
We have an existing input file, which is working correctly.  We are trying to modify this existing input file for a new Tax Code (Non-deductible inverse tax liability).   This tax code is working fine for manual postings.   But, through IDOC, tax postings are not correctly triggering.
Could you please confirm if any one has experience on this, so that I can share more details for resolving.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Srini

    Hello,
you can use CALL TRANSFORMATION id, which will create a exact "print" of the ABAP data into the XML.
If you need to change the structure of XML, you can alter your ABAP structure to match the requirements.
Of course you can create your own XSLT but that is not that easy to describe and nobody will do that for you around here. If you would like to start with XSLT, you´d better start the search.

  • A warning message in the Inbound part of the IDOC

    Hi all,
A warning message is being displayed for the Inbound part of the IDOC.
    Here is the message.
No filters , No conversion , No version change .
IDoc successfully processed in the ALE layer
The IDoc has passed through the ALE layer successfully and can now be
passed to the application. This transfer is either done online or as a
background job, depending on the settings in the partner profile.
If there are no further status records, the IDoc waits for the next run
of the transfer report to the application.
Success or failure when passing the IDoc to the application is
documented in the subsequent status records.
    Actions in the ALE layer
The parameter 'No filters' indicates whether the processing in the ALE
layer led to segments of the inbound IDoc being omitted. The important
criteria here are the settings in the segment filter and in the
        distribution model for this sender.
The parameter 'No conversion' indicates whether field values were
converted in the ALE layer. This is the case if the IDoc contains
organizational units to be converted, or if the ALE conversion tool for
        this sender is activated.
The parameter 'No version change' indicates whether the IDoc was
converted into an earlier version of the IDoc type. This happens if the
IDoc type of the sender is different from its own IDoc type.
I have checked all the necessary Config settings and all of them are in place.
Your help on this will be highly appreciated.
    - Surya.

    Hi,
The IDOC  may have successfully passed through the application, but check whether the status of the IDOC is changed to 53.
No filters, No conversions, No version change
occurs when the IDOC is not processed fully.
It may have stopped the processing without raising any error...
Check the program, whether there is any piece of code which stops the processing of the IDOC without changing its status to 51.
    Sharin.

  • How to create Inbound Delivery using SHPMNT03 Idoc details...

    Hi,
I need to create <b><b>Inbound delivery</b> using idoc SHPMNT03</b> details. I am getting all the data required to create Inbound delivery is from this idoc. for that I need to create a custom function module.
I tried with FM  IDOC_INPUT_DESADV1. But it is for only if you use DELVRY03.
I haven't (yet) found a way to create automatically an inbound delivery when you post the goods issue from the outbound delivery.
Does anyone experienced the use of inbound deliveries with STO and what are your recommendation?
    Thanks a lot,

  • Adapter module in PI 7.1 EhP1 for Falt File Idoc to Idoc xml transformation

    Hi Experts,
In PI 7.1 (EhP1) there is a java adapter module that can be added to the file adapter that automatically transforms Flat File representation of IDoc to IDoc XML. Can anyone provide the link to this particular module? Tried searching but could not get the specific module name or parameters.
The same conversion can be achieved using a standard SAP provided ABAP mapping but we need to use the module in this case.

  • Steps in Inbound Processing in ALE IDOC

    Hi all,
Could anyone explain the steps to be followed in inbound processing in ALE Idoc.
I know we have to create a FM n then call that in a program. But still the detail steps are not clear.
An example will be really helpful.
    Thanx

    Hi
    Outbound:
Step 1.  Application document is created when transaction is saved.
             2.  Message control is invoked.
             3.  Messages are processed by system.
             4.  Messages are Edited (if desired).
             5.  Output (ALE /  EDI) is checked
             6.  Validate against Message control record from Partner Profile
             7.  Application Document is saved.
             8.  Entry NAST table is created for every selected output program
                  along with Medium & Timing.
             9.  Check for Process Immediately .
                     If (yes)
Determine Processing Program from TNAPR Table.
                     ELSE
                       Execute RSNASTED Program.
           10.  Read Partner Profile to determine Process Code.
           11.  Process Code points to the Function Module & Invoked.
           12.  IDoc is generated.
           13.  Check for ALE Request.
                        if (Yes)
Perform Filters, Conversions, Version Changes etc.
                        Else.
                            IDoc is stored in DATABASE.
    INBOUND:
Step 1.  EDI Subsystem creates an IDoc file from EDI Messages
            2.   Subsystem calls Functional Module                                 EDI_DATA_INCOMING from startRFC program.
             3.  Data in Control Record is validate against the Partner                       Profile.
            4. IDoc is generated in Database and syntax check is                      carried out.
            5. IDoc file is deleted once file read.
            6. Event PROCESSSTATE REACHED is triggered in Idoc Object Workflow.
                       7.  Check for Process Immediately.
                   If NO
                     Execute RBDAPP01 Program
                   Else
Read Process Code from Partner Profile
Process Code Points to  Function Module
                     Application Document Posted.

    Data Creation in Idoc
IDocs are text encoded documents with a rigid structure that are used to exchange data between R/3 and a foreign system. Instead of calling a program in the destination system directly, the data is first packed into an IDoc and then sent to the receiving system, where it is analyzed and properly processed. Therefore an IDoc data exchange is always an
asynchronous process. The significant difference between simple RFC-calls and IDoc data exchange is the fact, that every action performed on IDocs are protocolled by R/3 and IDocs can be reprocessed if an error occurred in one of the message steps.
While IDocs have to be understood as a data exchange protocol, EDI and ALE are typical use cases for IDocs. R/3 uses IDocs for both EDI and ALE to deliver data to the receiving system. ALE is basically the scheduling mechanism that defines when and between which partners and what kind of data will be exchanged on a regular or event triggered basis. Such a set-up is called an ALE-scenario.
IDoc is a intermediate document to exchange data between two SAP Systems.
*IDocs are structured ASCII files (or a virtual equivalent).
    *Electronic Interchange Document
*They are the file format used by SAP R/3 to exchange data with foreign systems.
*Data Is transmitted in ASCII format, i.e. human readable form
    *IDocs exchange messages
*IDocs are used like classical interface files
IDOC types are templates for specific message types depending on what is the business document, you want to exchange.
WE30 - you can create a IDOC type.
An IDOC with data, will have to be triggered by the application that is trying to send out the data.
FOr testing you can use WE19.
    How to create idoc?
*WE30 - you can create a IDOC type

    Type the short text
Enter the variable names and data elements
    Save it and go back
Go to Edit -> Set Release
Follow steps to create more number of segments
    Create IDOC Type
    Go to transaction code WE30
Enter the Object Name, select Basic type and click Create icon
Select the create new option and enter a description for your basic IDOC type and press enter
Select the IDOC Name and click Create icon
The system prompts us to enter a segment type and its attributes
Choose the appropriate values and press Enter
The system transfers the name of the segment type to the IDOC editor.
Follow these steps to add more number of segments to Parent or as Parent-child relation
    Save it and go back
Go to Edit -> Set release
    Create Message Type
    Go to transaction code WE81
Change the details from Display mode to Change mode
After selection, the system will give this message “The table is cross-client (see Help for further info)”. Press Enter
Click New Entries to create new Message Type
    Fill details
    Save it and go back
Assign Message Type to IDoc Type
    Go to transaction code WE82
Change the details from Display mode to Change mode
After selection, the system will give this message “The table is cross-client (see Help for further info)”. Press Enter.
Click New Entries to create new Message Type.
    Fill details
    Save it and go back

An IDoc is simply a data container that is used to exchange information between any two processes that can understand the syntax and semantics of the data...
1.IDOCs are stored in the database. In the SAP system, IDOCs are stored in database tables.
2.IDOCs are independent of the sending and receiving systems.
3.IDOCs are independent of the direction of data exchange.
The two available process for IDOCs are
    Outbound Process
    Inbound Process
AND There are basically two types of IDOCs.
    Basic IDOCs
Basic IDOC type defines the structure and format of the business document that is to be exchanged between two systems.
    Extended IDOCs
Extending the functionality by adding more segments to existing Basic IDOCs.
To Create Idoc we need to follow these steps:
    Create Segment ( WE31)
    Create Idoc Type ( WE30)
    Create Message Type ( WE81)

  • Inbound function module for IDoc type INFRECMASS01

    Hello everybody,
What is the inbound function module for IDoc type INFRECMASS01?
I tried IDOC_INPUT_INFREC (as for IDoc INFREC01), but I got the following message (B1 044): Incorrect function module IDOC_INPUT_INFREC called up
    Thanks in advance
    Roland

The only difference between INFRECMASS01 and INFREC01 is that repitition of the same segments. However, the standard function module is hardcoded with IDOC type INFREC01, so if you want to use the MASS IDOC copy the standard one and put in the logic to loop around and process the info records one by one.
There is no standard funtion that can process mass idoc of the info record.

  • SAP XML and SAP IDOC XML

    Hi Friends,
Can any one tell me what is the difference between SAP XML and SAP IDOC XML?
    Regards,
    Kumar

    Hi,
Various XML standards are supported by SAP. It presents data according to an SAP specification either in IDoc-XML or BAPI-XML, the SAP XML extensions for IDocs and BAPIs. It uses preprepared representations of the SAP interfaces to XML Commerce Business Language (xCBL) messages to facilitate communication with the MarketSet marketplaces.
Messages are stored in a generic envelope. This envelope contains metadata that controls, among other things, the routing of the messages. SAP supports two different standards for these envelopes - Microsoft BizTalk and a format similar to Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP). Packaging SAP BAPIs in a standard envelope offers several advantages, including direct processing of messages by external applications and a uniform system of error handling.

  • Maximum size of XML files and number of IDocs for IDoc receiver adapter

    Hi Guys,
We have an XML file to IDoc scenario where XI picks up an XML file with multiple Customer records in it, it does a simple mapping and creates one DEBMAS06 IDoc per record in the XML file. All IDocs are sent in a single file in XML-IDOC format to IDoc adapter which then posts the separate DEBMAS IDocs to R/3.
    a) What is the maximum size of XML files that XI can handle with mapping involved ?
    b) What is the maximum number of IDocs in a single file that the receiver IDoc adapter can handle ?
The first time this interface runs almost 200,000 Customer records will be exported in one XML file.
    Thank you.

    Hi,
Well it is difficult to find out the  maximum Size of xml messgaes that can be processed by XI and also Maximum number idocs an recevier Idoc adapter can handle.
This totally depends on your production system loads and the limits can be set totally on trail & error basis..
In my heavy loaded production system, i found out that the maximum size of the successfull messages after processing by XI is around 75 MB (seen in transaction SXMB_MONI). Whereas messages with size around 100 MB went into error.
I havent encounter any such limits with respect to Idocs.
I would suggest that you divide your data into smaller chunks and sent it part by part instead of sending it all once since you data size is huge.
You can vary your batch size as per your system load.

    - Deepak.

  • Conv from IDoc to IDoc xml

    Hello All,
When SAP is triggers an IDOC to SAP XI, the conversion from IDOC to IDOC XML takes place in SAP XI(correct me If Im wrong here).
Can some body tell me what is the mechanism behind this conversion from IDoc to IDOC xml....and there is no adapter comes to into picture as the sender is SAP....which component does this conversion in XI
    Regards,
    Thai

To Convert IDOC to IDOC XML and the other way around,IDOC Meta Data is required by the IDoc adapter(availabe at Integration Server).
IDoc metadata is loaded in IDX2 Using  RFC connection maintained in IDX1(port maintenance in the IDoc adapter).

  • IDOC-XI-Idoc error in inbound idoc

    Hi all.
       We have a Idoc-xi-idoc scenario.
       SAP R/3 - Xi - SAP CRM
We have configure the idoc out in SAP R/3. And I use we19 to test the Orders Idoc and check the staus is ok.
But in XI, I cannot see the Orders Idoc is sending in. However, this time I havenot configure any repository and directory.
My question is , if I havenot configure XI repository and directory, how can I check the Idoc in error messages ? How can I know that the SAP R/3 idoc is sending to XI correctly ?

    Hi Jianhong,
plz check SM58 at R/3. Assumedly the IDoc was refused by XI - because of missing Configuration in IB Directory.
    Regards,
    Udo

  • Processing of huge no of Inbound xml files

    Dear All ,
I have a query related to Performance in <b>FILE-XI-IDOC</b> scenario :
If I am having 1200 inbound xml files in my Inbound folder and I have to process 1200 xml it in a span of 2 hours ,
<b>Can anybody suggest how I should configure in my Sender File adapter to process huge no of xml files .</b>
    Regards
    Prabhat

    Hi Prabhat,
    >>>Can anybody suggest how I should configure in my Sender File adapter to
there's not a lot you can you can do in your sender file adapter
try using: Permanently connection mode instead of Per File Transfer cause with the last one:
"A new connection to the FTP server is established for each file transfer."
    BTW
the most important thing is: how big your files are
that's the thing that can tell you: yes you can process 1200 in 2 hours or not

  • Inbound XML file into ECC6 .. is middleware required?

    Hi
We are running SAP ECC6 and do not have SAP XI.
An external system needs us to send an outbound WMTORD in XML format. We have configured the XML port and succesfully got an xmla file out of the system.
The external system will return a WMSUMO idox in XML format. ... but I am unclear if SAP can process this directly without some middleware or having to run special function modules (somehow?!).
Can anyone help clarify what needs to be done for the inbound xml file ... do I create a file port and SAP simply converts the xml into normal format?
I see some post about running function modules .. im not cleear on what program is used to run these
    Any help appreciated
    Thx

    HI,
To answer your question specifically, No, there is no need for an middleware for your case.
You can just create an inbound port of type xml file port and do the necessary IDOC inbound configuration and that should be enough.

  • Error in IDOC-XI-IDOC scenario

    Hi folks,
Let me explain the issue. This is an IDOC-XI-IDOC scenario. No BPM’s involved. SAX parsing used to parse the IDOCs.
We had around 35000 IDOCs coming in from Brazil system, and they are all stuck in SMQ2 (Inbound queue) in XI. The first message of every queue is in SYSFAIL status, with the status text as <b>‘Problems found during the EXPORT to specified keyin table’</b>.
When I try to execute the queue manually, nothing happens, but an error comes at the bottom of the screen, saying <b>‘Function module does not exist or EXCEPTION raised’</b>.
I checked the dump on ST22, and it shows 130 runtime errors yesterday. The name of the runtime error is<b> ‘EXPORT_TABLE_UPDATE_CONFLICT’</b>.
In the ‘what happened?’ part of the dump, it says ‘Error in ABAP application program. The current ABAP program <b>“CL_XMS_PERSIST=============CP”</b> had to be terminated because one of the statements could not be executed. This is probably due to an error in the ABAP program.’
Even SXMB_MONI is not opening (for yesterday’s date). When I try to open it, it hangs for a long time, and finally opens an ‘ABAP Runtime Errors’ page with the runtime error titled as<b> ‘SNAP_NO_NEW_ENTRY’</b> and the error short text as ‘ Runtime error: Unable to write short dump’
    Please advise.Thanks a ton!
    cheers,
    Prashanth

    Hello Prashanth,
First of all this is an XI issue and belongs in that forum.
The export problem is typical to situations where your XI DB is out of space/out of table space. Please check with your Basis team.
‘Function module does not exist or EXCEPTION raised’- This message is a standard ABAP RFC message. For an RFC function call to succeed, you need the same RFC function to exist on both systems. However this is probably not the case- it is more likely that you're out of DB space as I already wrote.
Good Luck (don't forget to award points)
    Ofer
