Inbox WAY too full, causes all messages to be lost!

A previous employee let her inbox grow to around 950MB! It was full of ads and pictures that take up lots of space. Her replacement accumulated another 20MB of emails and when she attempted to trash most of the old ones, all messages in the inbox disappeared. We followed the fix in the thread started by Diana_NC on Feb 3, 08 in this discussion and she now has a nice new inbox. The problem is that the old inbox, at 971MB, is too large to import. She does not need all the emails and would like to be able to open it just to sort out the not needed stuff and be able to keep the most recent emails. How can we accomplish this?
Thanks!
Jon

If the mbox file is too big for Mail to handle it, you’ll have to break it into smaller pieces. You can do that with an MBOX Breaker Script available at Allan Sampson’s website, or with Emailchemy. The former will ignore the Incoming_Mail file that I mention in the thread you referred to, but you may try importing that file directly if it’s not too big or just ignore it if all your messages are in mbox. Also, if you removed the .mbox suffix from the name of the mailbox in order to try to import the mbox files it contains, you may need to add the suffix back again for the script to recognize that folder as a mailbox.

  • It's taking way too long for my messages to load.

Starting on Tuesday this week (10/14) it is taking way too long for my messages to load from my Gmail account. Once the message finally shows up in the Inbox, it's taking up to 10-15 min for the message to load where I can actually view the message. I'm going to have to move to another email application if this can't be resolved which is very unfortunate as I've enjoyed using Thunderbird up until now.

I guess I'm at least happy to know it's not just me. I've had to abandon Thunderbird for now. I guess I'll keep an eye out for future updates.

  • Update 7.1 caused all messages to stop appearing in inboxes

Since I did the latest software update on my 9810, my messages are no longer coming into my inboxes.  I receive the notification at the top, but when I open the Messages, individual email accounts, or text messages, all inboxes show empty.
I searched the forums but couldn't find any other posts with this problem.
Thanks in advance if you're able to help.

  • HT1277 Mail, IMAP, Yahoo! Any way not to download all messages?

I love the way my Yahoo Plus mail account syncs with my iPad's Mail program...it all syncs so smoothly.
In trying to set up my Macbook's Mail program to do the same thing, I realized I need to change it to IMAP.  When I did so, it started to download all 15,000 old messages that I have on the Yahoo servers.  Is there any way to only download the newer messages, or do I have to face the music and clean up my Yahoo account?

  • Messages held for way too long

I have implemented a publish-subscribe architecture, the publisher sends exactly 30 messages to 30 clients. The implementation sort of works. When all 30 messages are sent, only 10 clients receive the message immediately the remaining 20 messages are not lost they are sent later (sometimes it takes an hour for the remaining messages to be delivered). I need the all messages to be delivered immediately. I assume that there is something in the API or a configurable vendor parameter that controls this behavior.
Any leads, tips will very appreciated.

    -F.

Thanks. Using MDB is not an option at this point.
In any event, the above post raise a good point. I expected that once the publisher sent the messages to the server that the server would push to all the clients -I assumed that to be default behavior of the JMS server. Is this correct?
Perhaps I'm issunderstanding the publish-subscribe architecture. I was not aware that client should be doing anything else other than listening for messages (which they are). Proof of that is that they "eventually" receive the messages.
I guess another way of reframing my problem is that I'm after a way that ensures that all messages are always pushed immediately to any listening client.
    Best,

  • What are solutions for a way-too-big database?

    Hi guys!
I'm a software developer and not very good in database designing. One day, I was asked something like this :
"For example, there is a company with a web application. One day, the database for that application is way too big, caused performance issues and others, what is the solution for that application database?"
At first, I thought that was about using multiple database with single app. But I don't know if I was right.
I want to ask that what are the solutions? If it's "multiple database" then what should I do? Using two connection to 2 database simutaneously?
    I appreciate any replies. Thanks!

Thanks Lubiez Jean-Val... for your links.
I've got some more advices like :
    - "transferring workload to another database using different techniques to copy the data from original db"
    - "redesign of the database"
So that means we use 2 different databases?Sometimes it is deemed desirable to keep only fairly recent data on the OLTP database, where the normal transaction activity happens, and replicate the data to another database that also contains historical data. This second database is used for heavy reporting tasks.
And "redesign"?As in, design it from scratch and do it right this time. Make sure all data relations are properly defined to Third Normal Form; make sure all data is typed properly (use DATE columns for dates, NUMBER columns for numbers, etc); make sure you have designed effective indexing; make sure you use the capabilities of the rdbms and do NOT just use it as a data dump.
    See http://www.amazon.com/Effective-Oracle-Design-Osborne-ORACLE/dp/0072230657/ref=sr_1_3?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1301257486&sr=1-3
are they really good solutions?Like most everything else, "It depends"
It depends on if the proposed solutions are implemented properly and address the root problem. The root problem (or even perceived problem) hasn't yet been defined. You've just assumed that at some undefined point the database becomes "way-too-big" and will cause some sort of problem.
It's assumed that we don't have or can't use partitioning.
And why is that assumed? Yes, you have to have a version of Oracle that supports it, and it is an extra cost license. But like everything else, you and your management have to do a hard-nosed cost/benefit analysis. You may think you can't afford the cost of implementing partitioning, but it may be that you can't afford the expenses derived from NOT implementing it. I don't know what the case is for you, but you and your management should consider the factors instead of just rejecting in out of hand.

You didn't mention what error(s) you've encountered? A workaround for the most commonly hit problem is here Re: error in Muse : Object UID:U6875 has two (or more) owners: U3633 and U3165
If you have a copy of your .muse file that has not been saved using 2014.3, you can downgrade by uninstalling Muse and then choose Previous Version in the Filters drop down in the Apps panel of the Creative Cloud desktop app. There will be a popup next to Muse where you can select a prior version to install.

Have you tried restarting or resetting your iPad?
Restart: Press On/Off button until the Slide to Power Off slider appears, select Slide to Power Off and, after the iPad shuts down, then press the On/Off button until the Apple logo appears.
Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10 seconds). Ignore the "Slide to power off"

Reading from others' posts, I repaired Inbox but all messages there is gone and it keeps thinking forever. Tried compacting Inbox, it keeps thinking. Tried reboot and compacting (all) folders, it keeps thinking. Also deleted inbox.msf, which only one unused out of several email account's folder has, but no help. Sometimes when Inbox stops thinking, checking mail still gets Inbox full message. Wasted a whole morning already ... any idea please?

  • "Full Screen Mode" in Adobe Reader XI for Windows 8 loads way too slow!

I recently got a new laptop with Windows 8, after having used Windows Vista for years.  I installed Adobe Reader XI for my new computer.  Before, I used Adobe Reader X on Vista.  I used Adobe Reader "Full Screen Mode" to read the nice-looking Bible chapters I created with internet audio from Biblegateway.com.  In Vista, the "Full Screen Mode" appeared quickly, before the audio fully started, so I could see the text in time for the reading.
However, with Windows 8, "Full Screen Mode" takes around 5-10 seconds to appear at all, and a black screen is present throughout the wait.  It does the same thing when I hit "escape" to exit "Full Screen Mode" as well.  I even uninstalled Adobe Reader XI from my new laptop, and tried using Adobe Reader X, even though it is not recommened by Adobe to do that on Windows 8, in order to test the speed of "Full Screen Mode" there.  Adobe Reader X had the same problem!  I do not know if this can be fixed, but I am pretty unhappy about it!  I enjoyed the "Full Screen Mode" with my PDF chapters and the online bible audio!  Finding that function for the first time with Adobe Reader X was a delight for me!  It gave the reading a theater feel!
Has anyone else here had a similiar problem with "Full Screen Mode" loading way too slow on Windows 8?  I am very disappointed!  If this cannot be fixed by a user, is there a place to complain to Adobe and make a recommendation for software improvement?  Thank you!

    No.
    - If you previously turned on FIndMyiPod on the iPod in Settings>iCloud and wifi is on and connected go to iCloud: Find My iPhone, sign in and go to FIndMyiPhone. If the iPod has been restored it will never show up.
    iCloud: Find My iPhone
    - You can also wipe/erase the iPod and have the iPod play a sound via iCloud.
    - If not shown, then you will have to use the old fashioned way, like if you lost a wallet or purse.
    - Change the passwords for all accounts used on the iPod and report to police
    - There is no way to prevent someone from restoring the iPod (it erases it) using it unless you had iOS 7 on the device. With iOS 7, one has to enter the Apple ID and password to restore the device.

What cable do I need for a full migration from a 2011 MacBook Pro to a new current one-wireless migration way too slow.?

All you need is an Ethernet cable.
Just plug it into both machines. Don't bother with a crossover cable, just a plain old Ethernet cable will do. The Ethernet ports on the Macs are smart and will adjust appropriately.

  • Way to buffer all messages in XI queues

    Hi all,
I am searching for a way to buffer all of my incoming and outgoing messages in the queues of XI.
I heard a while ago that it should be possible to schedule the queues in XI.
Our goal is that all messages that XI (3.0) receives and also all messages that the XI System is intended to send will NOT be send. We still want to be able to resend ALL messages later manually (maybe through a report?). Like this all receiving and sending Systems should not have any errors at all.
    Any input is appreciated.
    Thank you

  • Inbox loses all messages older than one/two days

So, I'm the proud new owner of an iPhone, and while I'm generally very happy with it, I'm having some email troubles that I hope someone here might help me sort out.
The issue is that all the messages that come into my mailbox disappear after a day or two, which negates (at least for me) any advantage to having on-the-go email. My iPhone is set up to receive email from a POP account, and so far, I've had no problems receiving or sending mail - it's the not-deleting-emails-from-my-inbox issue that's giving me fits.
At first, I thought it might have something to do with the settings on the desktop computer (Mac Pro) which is also set up to receive emails from this account. The mail application on the desktop had been set to delete all messages from the server a week after the message had been retrieved. Given that the messages in my iphone are deleted from the iphone's inbox a day (at most two) after retrieving the message, I don't think this is an issue (in any case, i am under the impression that the iphone works like any other email application - once it retrieves a message, it is downloaded onto the device, correct? it doesn't just live on the server). In any event, to be on the safe side, I changed the Mac Pro's email settings to never delete messages from the server, but this hasn't affected my iphone's problem.
I've toyed around with the iphone's settings, but nowhere can I find a setting that addresses this specific problem. Anyone out there had the same trouble I'm having? If so, were you able to fix it? is it something I'm overlooking?
    Thanks in advance.

That is the correct spot, what is/was that option set to under deleted Messages? Try setting it to Never and see if that might change the emails behavior. If that is not the cause then it might be a issue with the Mail Application Software on the phone in your particular case and would need to restore the phone.
Another thing to try is to remove the email account on the phone then re-add the account and see if it is doing the same thing.
