Incorrect year conversion when selecting date from DatePicker

Hi,
I have a problem when I select date from the date picker calendar to the inputDate item.
The date in input item and date picker calendar are displayed as Buddhist year (Gregorian year + 543) ex. year 2012 is 2555 Buddhist year.
When I selected date from the date picker, the year put in the inputDate item is converted to Gregorian year (2012). It should be buddhist year (2555)
Does anybody know where I can check how the year is converted?

I use version 11.1.2.2.0. Actually, I got the patch from Oracle support already but it is not working properly with my application. The behavior is like this...
- First, I set the current date as a default date in the inputDate item and date is shown correctly -- 10/10/2555.
- The calendar in datePicker is also displayed correctly with year 2555.
- But when I selected the date from the datePicker, it put 10/10/2012 in the inputDate item.
I am not sure where I can check how the year is converted back to Gregorian. Any clue?

Maybe you should not try Select * from ,,,, rather Select specific fields.. Also if in the remote database, the field and tablename are written in lower case you may want to try

I know why U get empty data.
In Program U should follow the rules:
U'd better data a variant typed the function parameters's type.
for example:
in your program the parameter: stlal = '1'
U'd better like follow:
Data l_stlal type STKO-STLAL
l_stlal = '01'. *Attention: '1' <> '01'.
stlal = l_stlal.
in this way U may have less mistake
and the parameter MTNRV
U should use material convernt : "CONVERSION_EXIT_MATN1_INPUT" to change material into internal types before U put into function's parameter.
why se37 has no problem? because In se37, the data you filled was be processed before use

How to select data from a PL/SQL table

Hi,
I am selecting data from database after doing some screening i want to store it in a PL/SQL table (temporary area) and pass it to oracle reports.
Is there any way to select the data from a PL/SQL table as a cursor. Or is there any other way of holding the temporary data and then pass it back as a cursor.

A PL/SQL "table" is anything but a table. Whoever came up with this term in PL/SQL to describe what is known as dynamic arrays (the correct programming terminology that existed since the 70's if not earlier and what is used in all other programming languages I'm familiar with)... well, several descriptions come to mind and none of them are complimentary.
You cannot "select" from a PL/SQL dynamic array as it is not a table within the Oracle context of tables.
Thus you need to convert (cast) a PL/SQL dynamic array into a temporary Oracle data set/table in order to select from it. This is in general a Bad Idea (tm). Oracle tables and SQL and concurrency controls and all that are especially designed for processing data. PL/SQL arrays is a very simplistic data structure with very limited usage. Why would you want to use that in SQL via a SELECT statement when you can use Oracle tables (or proper temp tables) instead? Besides that, it is also slow to cast a dynamic PL/SQL array into an Oracle SQL data set structure (context switching, copying of memory, etc).
The proper way to use PL/SQL to generate data sets for use via the SQL engine is pipelined table functions.
This is not to say that you should never use PL/SQL arrays and casting in SQL.. simply that you need to make sure that this is the correct and scalable way to do it. And that will also always be an exception to the rule when you do.

Selecting data from external table

I have the correct privileges on the directory, but the error seems to be on the EMPLOYER_NAME field. The file I try to upload is in pipe-delimited format. The last field in the file does not have a pipe-delimiter at the end. Can this be the problem? Must I go and look for any trailing spaces? Can I specify in the external table script how many characters I need for the employer_name field? We receive this file from an external company

common mistake, you gave the field sizes in the
column listing of the table, but not in the file
definition. oracle does not apply one to the other.
in the file defintion section, give explict field

Select data from table where field is initial

I have table that has 10 million records.
I want to select data from this table where certain date field is blank.

WHERE PSTNG_DATE = BLANK.
Does anybody know how to select data from data base table when certain field is blank.
I cont select all data once and delete which i dont want, the table is big, it will blow up app server.

Is it possible to retrieve data from a table from another database?
For instance, I have two databases db_1 and db_2
I login to the database db_1 using
sqlplus username/psw@db1
and to the database db_2 using
sqlplus username/psw@db2
In SQL> db1 I would like to use select statement from a table in the db2. Is it possible?
Another question:
I have two tablespaces TP1 and TP2 in the database db1
The TP1 is my default tablespace.
Can I switch from TP1 to TP2 tablespace in the sqlplus?
If not, how can I select all tables obtained in the TP2? Or how can I select data from a table in the TP2?

What about if db1 and db2 have the same table name? No problem, exactly like when you have two same table name accross two schemas on same database. The table suffixed by the dblink name come from the other schema of other database (schema which you use to connect through the dblink to the other database).

I am not a developer but working as a DBA, so not very much familiar with pl/sql, still gone through with documentation and could come up with some solution of my problem. I need some expert advice here.
Problem : I am writing down some kind of plsql program for monitoring of some special batch job, I know we have lot of other option to do the same including db/grid control ..etc but for some
reason i have to do this using plsql only.
Requirement : my requirement is to select data from table in plsql and then should have ability to query it again and again. I would not prefer to go to table rather than directly from plsql..
I wrote down below code for sample, bulk collect data into collection type and can print using for loop.

I don't think you need to use arrays here, only SQL, have a look at subquery factors and report back if that is insufficient...

Setting button property after selecting data from list

I am not able to set the button property after selecting data from list.
I would like to say that
* If a user select an item from list, then user is only allowed to update or delete the data. The update and delete button should be enabled and save button should be disabled.
* If the users types data manually, then user is allowed only to save this as new entry. The update or delete button at this time should be disabled and only save button should be enabled.
I want to say that
In both case, value will be there
In one case, value will be from list and that is available for update or delete
in another case, value will be typed from keyboard that is available for save(new entry).
I do not want to use separate form for update/delete/save new record. I want to use single form for all these operations.
I am using Form 6i and oracle 8

Authorization control when fetching data from PA OM tables

I want to know how to control DB level authorization using HR_READ_INFOTYPE and RP_READ_INFOTYPE. Taht is, i want to check whetehr the user who is executing a report is having read authorization for that infotype. If not, i should not fetch the data and the report should return error message?
Instead of authorization (std, custom) object, i want to control when fetching data from PA and OM tables in HR. How to achieve the same?

in a EVDRE we always get the error "encountered problem when retrieving data from webserver"
When analysing this further we noticed this is always generated when a base member is selected in the CV and the expansion on the row for this dimension is has one of the following expansion settings:
DEP
ALL
NOEXPAND
if we select SELF, the error disappears again and the EVDRE works fine again ... is this normal behavior?
there is no problem with application nor dimension.

Note that the keyword "ALL" does not include the member itself. This may cause some confusion, but as Harish implies, when you select a base member it finds no matches if your memberset is "ALL".
If you want to design a report to handle the user moving back and forth between base and non-base members in their CV, you either need to include SELF,ALL or SELF,DEP, or something similar....
OR you need to get a little fancier, and use EVPRO to look and see if the CV member is base -- evpro(app,member,"CALC") -- and then use some conditional logic in Excel to choose the correct expansion options. If Calc=N, use Self, otherwise use SELF,DEP or whatever you choose. This can be a bit tricky if you then want the user to be able to drill down in the report (especially if you want the workbook option to insert add'l rows on the expansion, rather than replace), but it's all possible.

Error when uplaoding data from R/3

I have got a problem when loading data from r/3 to bw .
i have loaded a init req and i have got more than 1 lac records.
i found out that there are 2000 records with the same error in PSA.
i have used a normal staging scenario ..psa and then to data target.
I know we can do it manually..but anyother way not retrieveing from r/3 again.
how to solve this problem.
and plz let me if i can have only correct records into data target preventing the incorrect ones by any specific setting..

there was a typo mistake with rohini..Use the transaction RSKC and enter those unpermitted characters..and do the load this time you will not get that error...
