InDesign form to web page

I did a simple form in InD and put the PDF in a Freeway web page... Freeway converts the PDF image to a 72dpi jpeg.
Is it possible to get a very high quality representation of the form on the web using any InD (or Ily) export tools from this form? It's got some relatively small typesizes (9pt) on it that aren't reproducing well at all on the web page. I've included a link to the actual PDF on the web page, but I just wanted the web page image to be more legible.
Thanks.

Granted that it doesn't have all the bells and whistles, it works for me. I tried some of the others (Dreamweaver, SiteGrinder) and keep coming back because of it's simplicity and ease of creating boilerplate sites.
The customers that I have and the websites I've done require functionality more than eye candy as well as cost effectiveness.

  • Indesign pdf on web page

    Evening Forum
    am i wrong in thinking i can use an indesign pdf on a web page like i do a normal pdf or jpg?
    i have had an indesign pdf created by someone, [sorry i dont know what the actual created pdf is called or whether it has a proper name?] and i need to reference it into a web page, and it wont appear. any one any ideas? do i need to write in some special HTML? [can only manage HTML and nothing more spectacular but it works for normal pdfs]

    hi all
    i had this working well on one computer, my machine at work that has IE6 on it. I use the Embed tag and put in a little line about not showing the borders:
    this worked beautifully first time.
    not i am back on my laptop, mac [Firefox, Safari & Opera] , and my mates as well, PC laptop [Firefox and IE7], but now the HTML page i set up with the embedded pdf in it doesn't work now. oddly enough the self help page i used:
    http://blogs.adobe.com/pdfdevjunkie/2007/08/using_the_html_embed_tag_to_di.html
    Also doesn't show the embedded pdf which i did see earlier. very confused now. is it my machine? Firefox? all new browsers?
    any further help is massively appreciated. I know this can work and have had it working...

  • Auto fill form from web page content

    I need to fill a field in a PDF form (version 8 or newer) with a value provided by a web page.  The webpage is a counter to provide a unique, sequetial number.
    I have been able to do this with Get() when using FormCalc, however I need more logic control than is provided in FormCalc.
    I have attempted to implement the logic with JavaScript and getURL. When I open the form the JavaScript Console indicates: "TypeError: xfa.host.getURL is not a function"
    Here is my code with some console diagnostics included:
    console.println("formEmailed = " + xfa.form.topmostSubform.formEmailed.value);
    if( xfa.form.topmostSubform.formEmailed.value == 1) {
      console.println("assignedTR = " + xfa.form.topmostSubform.assignedTR.value);
      if( !xfa.form.topmostSubform.assignedTR.value == 0){
        console.println("Getting URL...");
        xfa.host.getURL("http://somehost.com/index.html", true); //Get( "http://somehost.com/index.html");
        console.println("Field value = " + this.rawValue);
       // Verify a value actually got assigned
        if( this.rawValue.length > 0)
          xfa.form.topmostSubform.assignedTR.value = 1;
      } else {
        console.println("Not getting URL");
    Note: formEmailed and assignedTR are global variables.  The code is associated with the DocReady event.
    I have been unable to locate any examples of filling a field in a from from a webpage.
    Ultimately, I want the value from the webpage assigned to this.rawValue so that the value becomes part of the data in the form.
    Suggestions?

    Thanks.  I could not move the discussion, so I reposted to the LiveCycle forum.

  • Online Interactive Form - Blocks Web Page

    SAP BASIS LEVEL: 15
    (ADS)  connection test: 800.20080218110307.448744
    Adobe Reader 8.1.2
    last sap note implemented: 1092088 (to enable pdf editing)
    test: FP_TEST_IA_01 - works properly!
    SCENARIO:
    ABAP web dynpro with UIelement for interactive form display and editing.
    1- 1st Web dynpro view with IForm element, (enable option = True) so user can edit the IForm.
    2- Data node for Binding has 0-n cardinality (so in IForm a dynamic table will be generated)
    3-  2nd Web Dynpro View, UI FileUpload for Iform Upload.
    PROBLEMS:
    1 - On Upload view, I tried the the Auto-Binding combining FileUpload and UI IForm element (as sap note)  but dosen't work. For now I solved the problem the old way, converted the xml from bin to string, parsed the XML and then did backward-data-binding.
    2- On PDF display view, the pdf is displayed correctly and it's editable, but any other actions user tries to do on the web page don't work.
      2.1 I have a (navigate back) button on the web dynpro, but  once the pdf is displyed, no interaction with the web page is possible.
      2.2 Context binding between WD and IF, not working properly, seems to add empty elements in the data node. (if in WD context i have N elements - IN IF Data Herarchy I have N + M elements, M = empty elements)
    NOTE: when enable option = FALSE, everything works ok, but Form is no more editable.
    Help needed....

    One more thing:
    If I put the view that contains the Iform in a popup window, I get this error when I try to close the popup, or any action on the popup window:
    Short text

    What happened?

  • Can i convert indesign document to web page in dreamweaver

    Can I convert indesign 6 document to dreamweaver web page

    As SnakEyes suggests, the short answer is, "no." The long answer is more complicated.
    InDesign is a tool that provides you with desktop publishing, not web publishing. DTP tools let you choose fonts, precisely place graphics and photos, create columns with text that flows from one to the next and so on.
    A website is completely different. Web browsers do not have access to unlimited typefaces and, while your digital font license does allow you to send typefaces to a printer, it typically does not allow you to send it to all web browsers accessing your website on the internet. And also not all browsers work with all types of fonts hosted on a server.
    Text in browsers is rendered at screen resolution, which is typically 72 DPI. When you are setting up for a printer, you can access printers with 1200 and 2400 DPI, which is very high resolution. So your use of typefaces will, of necessity, be different for a website than it will be for print. We typically print for publications using serif typefaces for running text, as it helps the eye to flow to the next character and the next word. But since screen resolution is so low, we use sans-serif type for running text on a website because it will be more easily read than serif type on a low-resolution screen.
    Layout options for print tend to be very precise. One may simply drag and drop an image and have text flow around it in a DTP application. There is no design application for website building that allows you to do that which also gives you clean HTML and CSS code. So, if you want anything near like the precision for a website that you are used to in the DTP environment, you're going to need to learn HTML and CSS.
    Dreamweaver is a code-writing engine that has a display aspect that will let you see your design as you write the code. It also automates the production of a very limited amount of code, manages your links and will allow you to put your finished web pages on a server.
    Microsoft allows you to export Excel and Word documents "as web pages" and the result is horrific. It can actually take more time to clean up the code produced by these Microsoft applications than it would be to simply create a website from scratch in Dreamweaver.
    With In Design, the built-in HTML export is designed to extract content, not geometry. The end result of an export to HTML bears no resemblance to the original layout. The HTML exporter does allow the designer to attach external CSS and JavaScript files, but this assumes the designer is comfortable with code and has time to re-conceive the layout from scratch.
    Now, you can use the Adobe Digital Publishing Suite to do the export. This ranges from about $400.00 to $100,000 plus usage fees. This price may be good for the New York Times, but not cost-effective for a single designer or a small shop. The output of the DPS is limited. It only outputs to tablet devices and the iPhone. It won't output to desktops or Android phones. Everyone who wants to see your publication has to sign up for an Adobe.com account, then they have to send you their email address associated with the account. You then have to add their email to a distribution list, tell them to download the Adobe Content Viewer to their tablet, and then look at your publication through the ACV. Or you can create an app that is a stand-in for the Adobe Content Viewer, like the New York Times did and then you have to pay Apple the iOS Developer fee.
    Or, you can simply make a website that sticks to modern HTML and CSS standards.
    I'm looking forward to Ken Binney's comments after he sees the code structure exported from InDesign.

  • XML Forms in Web Page Composer (WPC)

    Hi, everybody.
    I need to use XML forms in WPC Containers. To solve this problem, I've used the settings in the post http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/45/ff64da7aa9703ee10000000a155369/content.htm.
    Now, when I drag and drop the XML in the container, I lost toolbars and layouts. So, I can't save the page, publish it or modify it.
    Any help will be appreciated.
    Best regards,
    José Luis.

    Hello, Sandeep.
    According to our consultant, is SP 15 Patch 1, but I'm not quite sure. ¿Where can I find the version information?
    On the other hand, I've published an screen capture on this URL: http://www.uexternado.edu.co/sdn/XML_forms_WPC.html. There you can see my problem's description.
    Regards,
    J.L.

  • How can I get Java to fill out form on web page and submit?

    I need to write a Java program that will submit a HTML form. I tried using POST already, but the only response I got back was the source code for the page itself. Looking more closely, I realized that there is a PHP script that will actually take the data from the forms and use it. How can I get Java to enter the data on the forms automatically and then run this PHP script? I don't need code, just a pointer in the right direction should do.
    Thanks in advance,
    Hasitha D

    If you are writing a program to submit a form,how come the PHP script come out of nowhere ? At this momemnt you are just writing some Java program,isn;t it ?
    My feeling is you are trying to edit some pre-written code.
    Is it ?
    Thanks.

  • Send PDF Form from web page

    Hi all. I have a web site with a PDF fillable form. Currently, customers must print and snail mail it to us. Most of them use web based mail, so the old mailto: function (which relies on email client like Outlook) is way out of date.
    I cannot find a solution in the forums. Can anyone tell me if I can wrap the form in php and use a php mailer to forward it to my sites mailbox? This would be similar to the standard Contact Us form submission.
    It seems Adobe would give some guidance here as this has been asked several times in the forums. Could really use some pointers. Assistance much appreciated.

    They have.
    You have the Doc.submitForm method (listed in the JS API Reference) that will allow you to submit form data to a webservice. There are 6 code examples of how to use this method included in the API Reference as well.
    For XFA forms created in LiveCycle Designer, there is an "HTTP Submit" button as one of the default form objects provided to the user.
    You also have the entire "SOAP" object available to you in Acrobat JavaScript (again, covered in the API Reference) if you need to make very advanced webservice calls.

  • How to form a web page link in an email message ?

    I am trying to include a webpage link in an email . Is this possible . I am using Thunderbird of course.

    I'm using Vista OS and TB 31.0 .
    I highlight some text in a new Write message eg: link to my website
    Insert > link
    If I right click in the 'link Location' area and select 'paste', I see this error message:
    error message: "(No named anchors or headings in this page)"
    If I put cursor in 'Link location' area and use 'Ctrl+V' then the url is inserted. So this second method works for me.
    There is also another work around:
    * highlight text in a new Write message eg: link to my website
    * Insert > link
    * type anything (even a single character eg: 'X') into the Link Location field.
    * click on the 'Advanced Edit' button in that same window.
    The 'Advanced Property Editor' window opens. select the 'HTML Attributes' tab if not already selected.
    Click/select/highlight the line with the new link you just created - it will show this info
    Under 'Attribue' it will say 'href' and adjacent under 'Value' , it will show what you typed into the Link Location field even if just a letter eg: 'X'
    At the bottom right locate 'Value', it will also show 'X'
    * highlight 'X' and right click and select 'paste'
    * Click OK to close Advanced Editor
    * click OK to insert link
