Index: 0, Size: 0 on iPad

Hi Pro's,
I get the error: 'Index: 0, Size: 0' when connecting to the server on an iPad with an user's id (SAP Authentication)
I can open the list of dashboards and dashboard with an Administrator account on the iPad. I then double checked the user's rights in CMC and tested it through the BI portal and I can see the list of dashboards, open and refresh them from the portal with the user's id with no issues. So why the error on iPad? Am I missing something?
Environment: SAP BI App v 5.1.9 Build 12 (407721)
Thank you
Gerrie

Hi,
Resolution:-
l apply point 3 in note 1783173 more specifically :
(CMC-->Personal Categories--> select user in question 'Mobile Test'-->User Security-->Add Principals-->select user in question 'Mobile Test'-->select Add and Assign Security-->select Full Control (Owner) right and Apply).
l More general solution is to give this to a group (could be everyone) at to-Level : CMC-> Personal Categories->Manage-> Top-Level Security-> Add Group -> Add and Assign Security.
Check the Note: 1836197 - MOB00082 index:0,Size:0 in Ipad when using a non administrator group member

HI Erika,
This is an unexpected error. This error belongs to ArrayIndexOutOfBound exception of Java framework - where the list of size is 0 or null and you try to access object on that list.
Since this is a coding defect (which may or may not be resolved by changing configuration). Next steps - I would strongly recommend that you contact Product Support through the official channel . http://support.sap.com/incident

Hi Ganesh,
The issue seems to be related to user security in BI 4.1. It looks like a known bug in some scenarios and has been resolved in BI 4.1 SP03
Please refer below SAP KBA and confirm the workflow as well as BI 4.1 product version.

• How to adjust the font size of iPad in printing a web page.

How to adjust the font size of iPad printout of web pages ?

In HTML Header I put textDid you mean Page Header Text? It wouldn't have done much of anything at all in the HTML Header...
However, the font doesn't do anything.Yet another universal selector problem: see +{message:id=4184109}+
How do I overwrite the style sheet? I am wondering if I change the default style sheet, does that also affect the other pages, which is not what I want. In that case you can just include the CSS inline, which will also get round the universal selector issue. You are also recommended to use a semantic HTML element instead of deprecated presentational elements like <center> and <font>. Assuming this text is the primary heading on the page, use <h1>:

• Error ITMS-9000 Index:0, Size: 0

Hi,
I've spent 30 days for this "Error ITMS-9000 Index:0, Size: 0".
I made a validation test before I delivered my book package.
No problem, it's OK.
I think since last update in OS X(March, 2013) this problem started.
Today, after Java and Safari update, the same error.
Whan can I do?
1 package(s) were not uploaded because they had problems:
/Users/carllro/Music/iTunes Producer/Playlists/9788999002519.itmsp - Error Messages:

After re-initializing, the porblem is solved.
I Would like to share our findings:
The monitoring application includes an embedded Apache Derby database, often referred to as the “trending database”, where monitoring information is stored by default.
Somehow this Apache Derby database database got corrupt: as a reference we checked our TEST environment and every time we restarted SAPBO, there was a file in the derby database named, dbex.lck and db.lck which was refreshed. We assume these ae lock files which is created at startup. But on the development environment, these files weren't refreshed at startup, they were too old. before re-initializing CMS, we stopped the node, deleted the dbex.lck and db.lck.files, started CMS but there were no dbex.lck and db.lck.files. So, we assumed the Derby database got corrupt.
After re-initializing, the porblem is solved.
Thank you all
Cheers

• Gather_table_stats with a method opt of "for all indexed columns size 0"

I have 9 databases I support that contain the same structure, and very similar data concentrations. We are seeing inconsistent performance in the different databases due to bind variable peeking.. I have tracked it down to the Min and Max values that are gathered during the analyze. I analyze from one cluster, and export/import those statistics into the other clusters.. I then go about locking down the stats gathered. Some of the statistics are on tables that contain transient data (the older data is purged, and new data gets a new PK sequence number).
Since I am gathering statistics with a 'FOR ALL INDEXED COLUMNS SIZE 1', a min and max value are grabbed. This value is only appropriate for a short period of time, and only for a specific database. I do want oracle to know the density to help calculate, but I don't want cardinality based on whether the current bind values fall in this range..
Example
COLUMN PK
When I analyze the min is 1 and max is 5. I then let the database run, and the new min is 100 and max is 105.. same number of rows, but different min/max. At first a select * from table where pk>=1 and pk <=5 would return a cardinality of 5.. Later, a seelct * from tables where pk>=100 and pk<=105 would return a cardinaility 1.
Any ideas how to avoid this other than trying set min and max to something myself (like min =1 max = 99999999). ??

MarkDPowell wrote:
The Oracle documentation on bind variable peeking said it did not peek without histograms and I cannot remember ever seeing on 9.2 where the trace showed otherwise. Mark,
see this simple test case run on 9.2.0.8. No histograms, but bind variable peeking, as you can see that the EXPLAIN PLAN output generated by AUTOTRACE differs from the estimated cardinality of the actual plan used at runtime.
Which documentation do you refer to?

Hi Experts,
Through protal I am changing Other Bank details (IT0009 subtype 0001) for US employee.
I get the error java.lang.IndexOutOfBoundsException: Index: 2, Size: 2 when I am edditing the other bank details.
Please help me out in this.
Prasad

Hi,
java.lang.IndexOutOfBoundsException occurs when the runtime environment tries to access the index of an array which doesn't exist. (Index 2 = third entry, you only seem to have 2 entries though).
Are you certain, the Pernr's Infotype is maintained correctly?
Could you post the entire error log from NWA so we can see the JAVA Stack? Maybe the error is nested.
Check Notes 1356222 and 1359671 as well. They might solve your error right away.
best regards, Lukas

• Change array index font size using VI scripting

Hello All,
I have a array control in my front panel, I'm wondering is there any way to change that "array index" font size using VI scripting?
Example:
1. I have this array
2. Manually I have changed the font size of the array in "Selection Font" panel as below
3. Through VI scripting I'm able to control control font size, label font size.,.. But not the index font size. So it looks odd.
4. I'm expecting to be modify this array as same as picture 1 through VI scripting.
Note: It may not have any practical application, but some time it will be helpful for the programmers to make a quick drop. If anybody have any idea, please share.

Raven - you are right, Actually I'm looking for options to change the font size of the array index.
Actually we have coding standard to follow. In that, all the front panel controls needs to be in Font size 14 and the size should be 25X120, so I'm trying to write a code which automatically converts the VI FP control sizes to be in standard size.
I'm not only using one customer VI, I'm handling various customer VIs, so each one VI FP control sizes are different. So I'm developing this utility to standardize the VI's as per the guidelines we have.
Except this array index most of the VI FP control elements I have handled, Only this array is troubling me.
Appreciate your support guys, please share your thoughts.

• How should be set Index block size in Warehouse databases?

Hi,
We have Warehouse database.
I cannot find out index block size.
1. Where can I get know our index block sizes?
2. How can I enlarge index block sizes? Is it related with tablespace?
After your suggestion do I need increase or set buffer cache keep pool according to block sizes? 2K, 4K, 8K, 16K and 32K can be specified?
could you help me please?
thanks and regards,

See the BLOCK_SIZE column in DBA_TABLESPACES.
You can't "increase" the block size. You'd have
a) to allocate DB_xK_cache_size for the new "x"K block size
b) create a new tablespace explicitly specifying the block size in the CREATE TABLESPACE command
c) rebuild your indexes into the new tablespace.
Indexes created in a tablespace with a larger block size have more entries in each block.
You may get better performance.
You may get worse performance.
You may see no difference in performance.
You may encounter bugs.
"increasing block size" is an option to be evaluated and tested thoroughly. It is not, per se, a solution.

First where from are you trying to connect is it client machine or server machine ?
What is the Application server you are using.. ?
On which server you are trying to configure ?
Before upgrade was it working perfectly ?

Can someone suggest me what can be done to fix this issue.
When we are trying to create a new row in the table through EO, we have overrided the default Create method in EOImpl. We are getting this error only in a particular scenario. It is working fine for the other VOs created for this EO and also working for a particular scenario in the same VO.
I would also like to mention if "Application module pooling" is turned off in AM configurations, it is working fine although it is bringing new errors. So turning this configuration off will not help and is also not an ideal solution.
Will creating a seperate VO for this scenario be any help?
