Indexing tables in CRM

Hello group,
we experience quite slow searches in the PCUI CRM 4.0, also the Interaction History on a Business Partner takes a long time to show if a BP has a lot interactions (which should be common).
Is it possible to index the tables that are used in the searches for each respective area in the portal (Account management, opportunities, et cetera), and the Query(ies) that are used to build the "Interaction History"?
If yes, how can I find out which tables are accessed and which queries are used? Is there a trace?
Thanks and regards,
Erik

  • Exporting Parameter of type 'INDEX TABLE'

    Hi Experts,
there is a standard method CL_CRM_MKTPL_OL_TRADE->GET_TRADESPENDS in CRM which has an exporting parameter ET_TRADESPENDS of type INDEX TABLE. Could somebody give me a hint on how to call this method and work with the data that is returned? I am assuming that I will need field symbols for this, correct? Coding examples would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Jens

    Hi Jens,
INDEX TABLE is a generic type. The data object expected depends on configuration and/or context. As we don't have any CRM system I can check CL_CRM_MKTPL_OL_TRADE->GET_TRADESPENDS I can't give you the details.
I have some experience with comparable methods in SAP Transportation Managament which uses the BOPF framework. In program context, we know what type of table structure will be expected, so we defined a local table accordingly and passed it to the ET parameter.
If you don't have any idea on how to find out, just declare any internal table, i.e-lt_test  type table of string. Then call the method with parameter ET_TRADESPENDS = lt_test. This will dump for sure. Enter debugger and check what kind of data are returned. From the field names you may get a clue what structure it could be. Dump analysis may also provide some info.

  • Replicate Custom Table from CRM to ECC

I have a custom table in CRM and I have to transfer the values of the custom table to ECC.I have BADI  which inserts the values into the custom table in CRM. What should i do to replicate the values in a Custom table in ECC.The tables are of same structure.

    Hi
Please reffer the C71 : CRM Connectivity document in Best Practices. It will gives you the perfect information for you.
Please follow the following link to find the same.
    http://help.sap.com/bp_crmv250/CRM_DE/index.htm
    Technical Information>Building Block Library> C71 : CRM Connectivity>Configuration guide.
Generally: You have to enhance the BAPIMTCS structure which is exchanged between CRM and R/3, and the functionality mapping the BDoc to this structure in CRM and in R/3 the functionality of saving the BAPIMTCS structure to the DB.
You should use the Transaction Business Events, see also tables TBE24, TPS34 and you can search for the SMOUTIL2 or SMOUTIL3 functionality esp in the CRM system.
Have a look at note 417906 with some information on used functions.

  • Data source to be created on CDPOS table in CRM.

    Hi
I have to create a data source on CDPOS table in CRM. I would like to know is it necessary
for  me to include or join it in infoset query with CDHDR table.
In my case I do not want to extract all the records from CDPOS , only the ones with the
date fields changed and which has tab_key as *zdtcvn(say). The valid records matching this criteria
won't be too much. So still do i need to take into consideration the CDHDR table to improve the
    index thing...
    Please advise.
    Thanks in advance
    Regards,
    kate.

    Hi Kate,
This will be depend upon your requirement , if u need to extract header level info  also like who changed this document what is the time...e.t.c..THEN u need to add CDHDR also..Otherwise CDPOS is enough....

  • BPL Sales orders: Updating index tables

    Hello forum,
After using BPL to copy sales orders, index tables are not updated. Examples of these tables are VAKPA (sales index by partner function), VAPMA (sales index by material), VLPMA (deliveries by material) or VRPMA (billing documents by material).
To correct this what we do is run program RVV05IVB (Reorganization of SD Document Indices) but this report is very time consuming. (it is not that easy to know the documents numbers for all sales / deliveries / billing docs that were copied so we have to run the report for all documents; even if we knew the document numbers, though, the report is very slow because these tables do not have an index by document).
Is this the way to do it, or are other people working differently?
Or should these tables be included in the context?
    Thanks in advance,
    Rui Dantas

In this case you mean sender system, right?
The access won't be that bad if you choose the right table to link: VBAP-MATNR for VAPMA, or VBPA-KUNNR + VBPA-PARVW for VAKPA. I'll try in our system.
It would be even better, of course, if we could link from more than one table (e.g. VBAK + VBAP to VAPMA). This is not possible, right?

  • Report error: ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error: NULL index table k

    Hi everybody,
I have two Distinct Databases on two distinct servers. (Oracle Ent. Release 10.2.0.3.0 on AIX 5.3). After I install the latest patch last week, One of the APEX installation has some problems on Home>Application Builder Page. The error message is very random and
    report error:
ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error: NULL index table key value.
When i change the view (details to icons), everything goes to normal. This error message is reflected some of the pages (report region) of some of my applications randomly. When it appears in a report region, i deselect the order method of the region, the result is normal.
But the other APEX application on the other instance has no problem. It is a bug? or Should i re-install the APEX instance?
    Thank you for your interest?

No, but we have a reproducible test case now so we're working on it. See ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error: NULL index table key value

  • Adding custom fields to the condition table in CRM

    Hi all,
Our requirement is to download the sales conditions type from R3 to the CRM system. In one of the condition table we are trying to add shipping point( VSART ) and Special processing indicator (SDABW).
For that we have added the fields in the structure CND_MAPT_ACS_REM_CUST (Comm. Structure Condition Exchange Customer Exit R/3 Fields) and we have added the fields in the field catelog in transaction ( /SAPCND/CTCT - Maintain Condition Tables). Then we have mapped these fields in the view V_CND_MAP_CNVFLD.
Finally we run the adapter object of that particular table to download the details from R3, but the condition table in CRM is not getting activated, so the adapter object is giving the error.
    Please help in this.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Raghuram.

    Hello Raghuram,
I feel that your issue is similar what i have faced, refer to my post:
    Link: [Issue in customer specific price;
For solving this you can refer to detailed steps in,  Note 514952 - Download of customer-specific tables.
Also additionaly you may need to run the report /sapcnd/rv12n001, as i also had to do so.

  • Replication of Z table from CRM to R/3 - No mBDoc Created

I need to transfer the contents of a bespoke customer table from CRM into R/3, off the back of delta changes being made to the CRM table.  To help us to achieve this we have performed the following steps so far:
    1. Created the customer table in both systems.
    2. Created a new messaging BDoc in CRM and linked it to the R/3 Site Type.
    3. Created a new mapping module in CRM that takes the data from the BDoc and maps it to the BAPI structure.
    4. Created a new Adapter Object that links to my BDoc, contains the new customer table as the source table in CRM and contains the mapping Module mentioned above.
    5. Created a new Replication Object based on my new BDoc.
    6. Created a new Publication and assigned it to the Replication Object.
    7. Created a new Subscription and assigned to the Publication and Replication Object. Also assigned it to my R/3 site.
On the R/3 side we have created a mapping module to map the data from the BAPI structure into the equivalent R/3 table. We also have an entry in table CRMSUBTAB.
However when I insert an entry in the customer table in CRM no BDoc is being created. In fact I cannot see anything at all in the system that indicates that it has even tried to capture the change and invoke the Middleware process.
    What am I doing wrong?
Do I need anything else (some sort of delta program?) that picks up the parameters from the table update and feed them into my process?  The literature that I have found (and it is not much) does not mention anything like this though.
Any help would be greatly appreciated as this is now a very urgent requirement.
    Regards

    Ian,
I do expected the follow up questions. Check my explanation below and hope it will answer your queries:
    1. I assume all of the activities performed to date are still valid to supplement your solution, e.g. the BDoc, Replication Object, Publication and Subscription details?
    2. The R/3 to CRM Mapping Module. Is this required to allow messages to be sent back from R/3 to update the BDoc, e.g. a sort of validation to prove that the posting has completed ok?
FM ZMAP_BAPIMTCS_TO_MBDOC in CRM, to map the BAPIMTCS format data and build the BDoc. This BAPIMTCS format is a temporary one and is not the final data format, that is taken to ECC. This function module also takes care of receiving the response message from ECC, once the BDoc data reaches and updates in ECC. If there is any error occured during the updation, it is captured in the error table of the BDoc and the status of BDoc is set to 'Error'. If no error occurs, the status of BDoc is set to 'Confirmed'.
    3. The Extractor Module in CRM. Does this get the data out of the table and will it work for deltas?
Yes , It should work for Delta too.The delta load makes use of the same program and flow for Initial load (SMOF_DOWNLOAD)
    4. CRMSUBTAB in CRM. I knew that we populated this in R/3, I did not realise we would need it in CRM as I assumed it was R/3 specific.
    5. You list the sequences of FM calls at the end. I was confused in the order. As we are initiating data to be sent from CRM to R/3 should some of these be in the reverse order, e.g. ZMAP_MBDOC_TO BAPIMTCS would be called before ZMAPBAPIMTCS_TO_MBOC as would pass data into the BDoc to send it to R/3 before we then received an update message back?
Step 1: Z_EXTRACT_MODULE  will be called.( It calles ZPICK_DATA_FROM_CRM). This function module calls the standard function module CRS_SEND_TO_SERVER the one triggers the other function modules
Setp 2: Creat function module ZDATA_TO_BAPIMTCS(missed to mention earlier) in CRM, to map the data in the final internal table to BAPIMTCS format. This format is temporary and will be used to build the BDoc data.
Step 3: Created function module ZMAP_BAPIMTCS_TO_MBDOC in CRM, to map the BAPIMTCS format data and build the BDoc. If no error occurs, the status of BDoc is set to 'Confirmed'
Step 4: Created function module ZMAP_MBDOC_TO_BAPIMTCS in CRM, to build the final BAPIMTCS structure from the BDOC. This BAPIMTCS is the final data structure that goes to ECC. The table name, objectkey, relkey that is relevant for the BAPIMTCS, is filled in this function module..
Step 5: Created function module Z_LOAD_PROXY_FINAL in ECC, to receive the data from CRM. The BAPIMTCS data is received and mapped to local internal tables and then updates to custom tables through the function module Z_UPDATE_ECC. The errors if any are captured in this function module and returned back to CRM using the standard function module CRS_SEND_TO_SERVER.
To reduce the load on the interface, at the final stage, it was decided to fetch the data completely in ECC. So the incoming  data from CRM is ignored and is fetched completely from ECC tables.
    6. Is there a test FM available for the extract, e.g. is CRM_SAMPLE_EXTRACT_MODULE the one to copy?
No, You have to develop this Extractor FM say ZPICK_DATA_FROM_CRM and should be called in Z_EXTRACT_MODULE.
Apologize for any spelling errors, as I too running to meeting.
    Update me the status.

    Hi Raghu,
There are many techniques in which you could find the database tables, few of them are given below:
    - Place your cursor in the field for ex: reason in activity and press F1
    - In F1 screen(performance assistant), Click on Technical Information (fourth button from left), you can find here the database table name.
    Another Option:
    - Go to transaction SE11
    - In Database Table Field type few letters, for example to find all the activity table type * act * and then press F4, all the tables related to activity will be displayed
Wish this was useful to you

  • Confused by the removal of aggregate/index tables in HANA

    Hiya,
I've heard that HANA removes the need for aggregate and index tables like BSIS, BSAS, VRPMA etc.
Is HANA smart enough to do this? Or does Simple finance (sFIN) do this?
I mean if we were to replace our Oracle DB with HANA would the index tables no longer exist?
Or would we then need to implement simple finance to then remove the need for index tables?
    Thanks in advance!

    "HANA is just the DB."
I wouldn't say it's "just" a DB, but for the point we're making here you can say that SAP HANA is mainly used as a DBMS and not as a application platform.
"To remove index tables, aggregate tables etc you can activate business functions through SFW5 to improve specific lines of business."
That's not generally true. Some enhancements (like the VBOX removal) are delivered via enhancement packages. These change the software, but typically don't make a new product out of your system.
"Installation of sFIN, or S/4HANA contain more deeper changes to both the tables and ABAP code - that improve speed and efficiency."
Nope, these are actual new implementations. These are new programs that do similar things as the former NetWeaver programs. But they are newly written code.
This allows for much more radical redesign of functionality leading (hopefully) to even more improvements.
Coming back to your first sentence: the more radical the software changes the more tightly integrated the solution will be with SAP HANA. More and more function will actually run "in" SAP HANA, making it more than just the DB.
Ok, I hope this didn't increase the confusion again.
    Cheers,
    Lars
