Infoset query field changes

Hi All,
I have one issue.
I am changing length of one infoobject in DSO from 4 to 7 and also its description.
Now, infoset and infoset query existing on this DSO should also change with new length and description.
Could anyone please  tell me how i can do this ?
I have tried "Adjust" option in infoset , but its not changing its length and description.

      Please let me know can we do the changes for the Input/Output field for the infoset query in PRD. That mean  if some of the fields are hidden and we want to show them at the output can we directly do the changes in PRD .

    Create the infoset with PNP database and add all the infotypes required (including custom ones). Add all fields.. vale, text etc. as seperate fields of the custom Z tables as additional fields in the infotypes and write your code accordingly to select the data into these fields based on the already existing infotype fields. For example if you want to get designation based on position you will write:
    select <designation> from ZDESG
    into <custom field>
    where PLANS = P0001-PLANS
    Creating joins over already existing joins will not be a stable solution.

  • Adding additional fields to an Infoset Query

    Hi Experts,
    I have added a couple of additional fields to an infoset query using SQ02.
    I have also written code for filling in the fields.
    I have also added them to some Field Groups.
    Despite this, when I run the query, they are not being displayed in the output list.
    What could be the reason for this?
    Kindly help with your inputs.

    give the query name...
    goto change.. just below output, you have a drop down for field group and field catalog. select field catalog.
    select the fields you want to show in output

  • Infoset/query : how to fix a selection field value?

    I am writing queries with SQ01 and designing Infosets with SQ02.
    I have to restrict the results of a query to a specific plant.
    This can be done by adding the plant field in the selection screen of the query and by asking the users to fill always the same fixed  plant number when the query is started. Another solution is to filter the output.
    Isnt it possible to simplify this by forcing the plant number in the initialization of the Infoset values without display of this field in the selection screen? This value has to be initialized before the table containing the Plant field is joined to the other tables?

    Open SQ01 transaction,give your query name, click on infoset query button.
    On the right side of the screen you can define default values for those fields.
    If you want to disable the same field in selection creteria then open your infoset in SQ02
    transaction and click change, click on extras buttonin appllication tool bar,on right hand side
    in code tab you can add your logic.

    Dear experts,
    I hv question abt infoset query.
    I m not very familiar with infoset query and now i hv to make some changes in already existing query.
    I hv found the infoset in use.
    from this infoset i can find the query.
    Now the question is I just hv to insert one field in selection screen and and same in output list.  This field has to come from a table  which is already in use in joins. I just have to tick the checkbox to appear the field in selection screen and in outputlist.
    But I m not sure, if i make any changes in query, what will be the effects because  the query is in production system and i hv to make changes in the production system only.
    Can any one pls guide me , how i should make changes in query.

  • Additional i/o fields to infoset query based on PNPCE logical database

    Hi All,
    I have a requirement to add two additional input and output fields "job function" and "job family" to a infoset query based on logical database PNPCE. I am new to writing code in infset query and there are so many code areas in infoset query. I am confused where to write code and how to limit the output list based on the user selection to the additional fields "Job function" and "job family". have any one done this in the past?. is there sample code somewhere to do something similar to this?

  • Selection field in Infoset Query

    Hi All,
    I have an Infoset which is based on Logical database PNP &  it has few additional fields. Now the requirement is to add one of the additional field to the selection screen of "Infoset Query". But in the Infoset query the 'Selection' checkbox for all the additional fields is graded out, & only the 'Output' Checkbox is enabled for all the Additional fields.
    I added a new additional field in Infoset and even that is not available for selection in the Infoset query.
    Kindly let me know if you have any info regarding this....
    Please note that i have this problem in 'Infoset Query' only.

  • Add field in sq01, infoset query.

    i am trying to create a virtual field in sq01. i am creating a infoset query where i want to add two fields and need to displayed in the report. how can i do that without enhancing the infotype? i just need to add two fields and need to be displyed in third field. i want to add some logic of addition to those two fields and the result need to be stored and displayed.

    I have got a query in AD-HOC query.
    After creating the Adhoc query using the join table functionality the resulting adhoc query does not results any out put.
    What I have done is :
    1.Created a user group through SQ03
    2.Attched user to My user group
    3.Created an infoset using join table functionality(SQ02).
    4.Saved and generated the infoset
    5.Added the user group to the infoset and than run the ADHOC query.
    The table I have used to join is all PA table (For test pupose)
    Though the purpose of the custom infoset is to join PA,OM and E rec infotypes, for testing purpose I have joined only PA infotypes.
    Result:The adhoc query does not gives any out put instead it says no data could be read.
    Could you please tell what else I need to do so that the custom infosets gives an out put.
    Will greatly appreciate your help.

  • Additional fields in infoset query can not be used as datasource fields

    I create one infoset query with additional fields (using ABAP code) in R/3. When I create datasource RSO2 using this infoset query, system only show all fields without additional fields that I enhanced in infoset query. Does that mean we can not get additional fields information in generic datasource creation that we enhanced in infoset query?

       you are enhanced some fields in r/3.right that fields are  shown in
    rsa6 select your data source click on display your datasource then select
    extract structure its shows how many fields are haveing particular
    datasource .or otherwise goto rso2 select your data source display
    double click on  your extractstructure  its show how many fields haveing
    the particular datasource. check the Rsa6 what ever fields you newly added that field default hide mode
    you remove the hide tickmark.

    hi,
    For manullay selecting the fields, Just drag and drop fields from respective tables ( left sub tree) to their
    respective field groups( Right sub tree ) in a infoset.
    If you wish to create your own field group, just delete the sytem created field group and then recreate it by giving suitable name and then again drag & drop fields from table to  your field groups.

  • Custom Field in Infoset Query missing in Infoset

    Hi Everyone,
    I'm in a puzzle and I hope someone can help me. Basically I need to maintain an existing infoset Query - While looking through the query and it's related Infoset I noticed there is a custom field appearing in the query (SQ01) but this field is nowhere to be seen in the Infoset (SQ02) - I'm just wondering how can this be ?
    The same custom field exists in another Infoset - is it therefore possible to build a query using an infoset while pulling in fields from another ?
    I would appreciate any thoughts on this matter as I'm in a very confused way over this.

    Hi Damien Kesle ,
    There are ways by which you can create fields ( they are called Local fields ) in the Query too.
    Please see , whether the custom field you are asking is present in the Query.
    Even then , just to confirm that your said field does not exist in the infoset, follow the steps.
    Go to SQ02, put the name of your Infoset and click on tab "Description ".
    Then do a Ctrl + F (Find/Search) for the field. If its not there, then you can confirm that the field comes from Query and not Infoset.
    Approach for any further queries.

    My code is working now for these 3 new additional fields. The thing is it works if these fields were selected solo. but if all of these 3 or 2 of it simultaneously, an error occurs.
    Error when generating the report (see long text)
    Message no. AQ_AD_HOC221
    Diagnosis
    The report cannot be generated because the internal description is invalid or incomplete, or because the selection screen is too large.
    Regenerate the assigned InfoSet, and read the log. If the InfoSet is OK, make sure that at least one field is given as output.
    If you used the 'Refresh' icon to start the query, use the 'Output' menu option to execute the query. This gives you a full screen display of the data.
    If an output was generated, the query cannot work with actual data in the construction view. In this case, always use the 'Output' function to execute the query.
    Procedure
    If the selection screen is too large, you need to reduce the number of your selections.
    Make sure that the assigned InfoSet is correct. The name of the assigned InfoSet is stored in the menu option 'Extras -> Template Information'.
    Output at least one field. Otherwise you will not be able to save or generate reports.
    If you do not have this problem, execute the query using the 'Output' function.
    Otherwise, there is an error in the InfoSet Query.

    Mandatory selection screen:
    When you display infoset go into the infoset>Goto >selections or click on the app tool bar button for selections,
    it will open up a table will all the screen fields. Adjacent to these, there are 3 check boxes for Standard selection, required entry and default. Check the required entry field.
    You would have to place the code in the PBO. In case of selection screens, you will have to do it in the AT SELECTION-SCREEN OUTPUT EVENT.
    Doesn't really make much sense to try and do it in the PAI ( = AT SELECTION-SCREEN).
       You can do it using customer exit. You have the options to verify a variable input and display a message back to the users, check the attached documents. The check can be done in the customer exit step I_STEP = 3.

    Hi Experts,
    I am new SAP Query, so i have come up with this issue. Please help.
    I have an infoset query with me, also a SAP query and a transaction with some Z transaction code, the program name as taken from System->Status is AQZZZSD=========Z_SD_ORD_WO_ST.
    1. Now I can see code in the program, but I cant see that much of code in the SQ02 under extras tab. 
    2. Moreover, I have to change the code to address new requirements. How can I change the code in a SAP query???
    What are the ways to change an existing SAP query's code ???

    Hi Chandan,
    Go to Infoset (SQ02) in change mode, click on Code icon (Sfift + F8) displayed on Application bar.
    You will find, 'Code section' where different events are listed. You can write your code in any of listed events depending on your need.
    For ex. if you want declare any variable in u2018DATAu2019 Section, to initialize any variable can use INITIALIZATION event.
    If you want to perform operation on selection screen you can use 'AT SELECTION-SCREEN OUTPUT'
    And most important event for this tool is Record Processing event like if you want to have any condition and calculation or modification of field value, you can write code in this event.
    END OF SELECTION BEFORE LIST--> You can write header information in this event. After this information, your output is displayed. (User WRITE statement to write your information)
    END OF SELECTION AFTER LIST--> You can write footer information in this event. After query output, information mentioned in this event is displayed.
    Note: END OF SELECTION BEFORE LIST and END OF SELECTION AFTER LIST work only when output format of your query (SQ01) is u2018ABAP LIST'
    GET and GET LATE: When you select a logical database as a data source of an infoset, you get this additional event to maintain the code as per your need for LDB.

  • InfoSet Query - Long Description while selecting variable values

    Dear Experts,
    We have an InfoSet Query on different InfoObjects like 0CUSTOMER, 0CUST_COMPC etc and the common link between these InfoObjects is CUSTOMER.
    We have a variable created on this CUSTOMER. The requirement is that when this query is executed, user should be able to select a value of Customer (F4 help) and at that time, he should be able to view both Key and Long Text of Customer.
    We know that if we change the CUSTOMER InfoObject --> BEx Properties tab, then we can display Long Text and Key in Query Selection Screens. However we can not do that because it would affect all queries in which this InfoObject is used.
    If we go to Query Design, and choose "Long Text and Key" in properties of Customer, then system displays Long Text and Key of Customer but after the report execution is done.
    We want to display the Long Text of Customer to User at the time of selection and that too without making any InfoObject level change.
    If it was InfoProvider, we could have done it using "Provider specific properties of Characteristic" option. But this is InfoSet and that option does not appear here.
    Please suggest the solution.

    Are you looking to display long text for infoobject instead of short description ?
    Then go tp rsd1>infoobject>display/change-->master data/texts -->text table properties -->check long text exists.
    It supports a long text field with a length of 60 characters
    Activate the infoobject
