Inherit from data region bpf

Hi all,
We are using inherit from data region for the dimensions (entity & time) in our business process flows.
For some users, when they access to the bpf, the dimension entity isn't inherit.
This behaviour ocurrs randomly, ¿do you know how can be solve?
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Juan

You might try to copy the package that you are requesting in the BPF as a back-up. Then in the package you have connected to the BPF, comment out the SELECTION PROCESS text in the Advanced area of the SSIS package. Then test the process and review the log to see if the current view or assigned view is passed as a parameter. If not, then you may have to use a specific package, that has a broader scope defined in the package details or Script logic file itself.
That would be my first step.

• BPF dont open the data region set for Excel Template

Hi experts, i have a BPF which contain a step where i put in the entity dimension a current view type "inherit from data region". This dimension have a security "READ ONLY". Well when i open this BPF, with a user (who is OWNER in the Entity dimension for specific member) the template open on diferent member than it assigned.
I set in the member access profile for this user just the member i want to he see and also set the other members "denied", however it`s still open in the member which open for default in the action pane on BPC WEB.
What i have to do to correct that?
thanks in advance

Hi,
"Inherit from Data Region" means - when you open the BPF, you need to specify members for few of the dimensions. These members can be used by specifying "inherit from data region".
For example, if, while opening the BPF, you enter USA for Entity and 2009.Total for Time. If "inherit from data region" is specified for entity dimension, then it will take USA, irrespective of the current view and the fact that the user is owner of some other dimension.
In this case, either you can take it from CV or you can specify the member explicitly while designing the BPF. However, it will not serve your purpose.
When you acces read access to the user for some entity, the user can still view the data. However, he wont be able to send data. So, restricting the view access is not possible in this case.
Hoep this helps.

• BPC 75 NW - BPF driver dimension key and description in Data region

Hello All,
In our BPF templates we have used Costctr as our driver dimenion. When we go to My activities to view BPF instances- we only see the Costctr Description in the data region which is the default. In our example- we have muliple cost centers globally with the same description.. so having the key displayed in the step region is critical. Is there a way to specify the key as well?
We are on BPC 75 NW SP07 patch 3.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks,
Shai

• Split Spry.Data and Spry.Data.Region from SpryData.js?

I don't like Spry.Data.Region or anything like Spry.*.Region because it make hard to customize using javascript.
But Spry.Data with Observer / Notify feature is great one. In fact, using SpryData.js, I can write my own "render html object" easier.
SrpyData.js is big (127KB) even when compressed, it is still 65KB. That why, needed split Spry.Data and Spry.Data.Region from SpryData.js so who want to use Spry.Data only like me will get smaller trafic.
I've tried remove all Spry.Data.Region content in SpryData.js. Surprise, some in Spry.Data call to Spry.Data.Region >>> Design have problem.
Anyone can help splitting them?

Found this in the archives:

Basically a hack to point the tooltip to a hidden div so no errors are thrown.

• BPF 7.5 NW- Inherit from BPF instance

Hi friends
I´m work with BPF however one functinality doesn´t work, this is "inherit from BPF instance" in substep current view
do you have any idea if there is a note that correct this issue ?
thanks in advance

Hi Nilanjan
My controlling application is the same that template is,
The driver dimension is P_DIVISIONES type User
The identity dimension is
Z_TIEMPO type Time
Z_VERSION type Category
We are following HTG and in step 3 Executing the BPF they mentioned that is a known issue, but I dont´t know if this issue was fixed.
However the values that we set as u2018inherit from BPF instanceu2019 have not been inherited properly -
this is a known issue which will be corrected in future support packs.
cheers

• How to update data in database from different region of the same page

Hi,
I have pepared two regions of tabular form based on the same table,each region is selecting different columns of the same table.
I want to update the values from different regions in the database using single submit button.
Regards
Shashi

I presume that the two regions are working fine with their individual buttons and your issue is how to make them both save with one button.
Here is how
a. You will have 2 ApplyMRU and 1 ApplyMRD processes for each of the regions. Right? Lets say you have 2 "Save" (i.e. label=Save) buttons, one has name SUBMIT and the other SAVE ( SUBMIT and SAVE being the requests that will be sent when they are clicked , respectively)
b. Make the Display condition on one of the buttons 'Never'. Now it won't show when you run the page. Lets say you made SAVE's conditional Display 'Never'
c. Go and change the condition on all ApplyMRU and ApplyMRD processes from "When Button Pressed" to "Request is contains in Expression1". In Expression1 enter SUBMIT,SAVERegards

• ORA - 01031: insufficient privileges from report region

Hi All,
I'm getting below error from report region query (2 on a page and both return same error):
failed to parse SQL query
ORA - 01031: insufficient privileges
When I refresh page, it does not throw error and displays proper data. Can anyone please advice what could have gone wrong here?
Thanks.

Hi
It would be easy to help you if you please provide the details about your environment like Database & Apex version.
Is the query in your report region is using tables? Are they in the same schema which your application's workspace is based on? Or are you using some DB Link or views or querying data from some other schema?
Also trying using Debug option in Apex to get some idea what's actually executing behind it? Try that query in SQL Plus/SQL Developer and see what you are getting?

• Referencing Report Fields from other regions

It is possible to reference the value in a report column in another part of the page?
I have a report region returning a single row of data, and I'd like to use the value in one of these columns to set an item in another region.
Is there any way to reference the report column directly from another region, or do I have to do something more complicated?

Hi,
OK - it would depend on the template that is being used. See: [http://apex.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=267:80]
In this case, I have added the following into the report region's Region Footer setting:
<script type="text/javascript">
var region = document.getElementById('#REGION_ID#');
var t = region.getElementsByTagName('TABLE')[1];
</script>Underneath this region, I have another region containing a P80_VALUE page item. To populate this with the first EMPNO shown in the report, I have added the following into this region's Region Footer:
<script type="text/javascript">
function showValue()
var r = t.rows;
var row1 = r[1];
var c = row1.cells;
var v = c[0];
document.getElementById('P80_VALUE').value = v.innerHTML;
showValue();
</script>In this example's case, the report region actually generates two tables with the same ID (this is defined on the template, which I have not changed) - so, the first script gets a reference to the second table (items in javascript being zero-based, this is item 1). The script in the second region, then gets the second row (the first one containing data, the headers being on the first row) and then gets a reference to the first cell in that row. Finally, it sets the value of the P80_VALUE item to the contents of the cell. If required, you could loop through the rows and cells using something like:
for (var row = 0; row < r.length; row++)
c = r[row].cells;
for (var cell = 0; c < c.length; cell++)
do something with c[cell];
}Andy

• Has anyone implemented CKEditor in a Spry Data Region?

I have been trying to implement an HTML editor in a Spry Data Region without success.
CKEditor is a follow up from FCKEditor and is supposed to slot into Ajax applications.
The website is here: http://docs.fckeditor.net/CKEditor_3.x/Developers_Guide.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Ben

Just make sure you call the
CKEDITOR.replace('editor1'); // editor1 being the id of your text area
everytime the region gets updated. The best way to do this is add a Spry region observer, that calls that line of code during the onPostUpdate observer.
Read more about the observers here:

• Sliding panels from data - single panel

I would like to use the spry sliding panels from data widget
with only 1 panel at a time. The sample has two at a time.
Most of the code makes sense, but every modification I try
breaks the next/previous navigation.

I modified the code from the example for you, so now it works
with just one panel visible.
Changes are:
set the width of the wigdet en
slidingpanel class to 250 instead of 500.
var numberOfPanelsPerView = 1
remove all the
spry:if="{ds_RowNumber} % 2 == 0" attributes
change
onclick="sp1.showPanel('p{prevStartIndex}') to
onclick="sp1.showPreviousPanel()
change
onclick="sp1.showPanel('p{nextStartIndex}') to
onclick="sp1.showNextPanel()
This all leads to the following code

Building a Sliding Panels widget with Spry
Data

This sample creates a Sliding Panels widget by using
Spry Data to build the repeating markup. In this sample the content
panels are generated dynamically and the photo in each panel comes
from Spry Data. The text is static, which is just there for
example.

The content panel is generated in a Spry:repeat
region. An important thing in the panel widget is that each panel
should have a unique ID. This ID is generated with a Spry data
reference. Using the same method, the Panel links are generated the
same way, using the same data values. This ensures that the panel
links and IDs match up correctly. In this sample, the visible
window is twice as wide as the content panel. This allows for 2
panels to show at once. The links, therefore, need to show only
every other panel number. This will allow the panel to move by 2
content panels each time. To do this, a spry:if is used to only
display the even number panel numbers.

Note: Since this sample depends on Spry Data for the
content and markup, it will not degrade when JavaScript is turned
off. This sample shows how to construct this widget with Data.
Determine if this method fits your needs with degredation and
accessibility in mind. Also, this sample is more complicated only
because we are showing 2 panels at once and there are differing
lengths of text in the panels.

• Inherit from LV Web Service

I have a created a Child Web Service class that inherits from Web Service. In my Web Service startup VI I am unable to use my class, because if I put it on the connector pane in the place of the Web Service.lvclass that is there by default, I get error −67001: LabVIEW Web Services: The Web service is undefined. This tells me the class object isn't being set correctly even though it's on the connector pane.
Can I do what I want? It would seem kind of silly if we are able to inherit from Web Service but then not use the child class in place of the parent on the Startup VI.

Hi Greg,
Can you provide a little more detail about your use case? Why do you want to inherit from Web Service.lvclass? Is there a reason why Web Service.lvclass does not meet your needs? I only ask because I have not found anyone else that has reported this error so I can find no information about it.
I tried to do something similar to what I thought you were doing and are not getting error -67001:
Can you provide any code that shows this behavior? Where do you get this error? When you start the web service? If it inherits, I would imagine it should work as you want since it has all the necessary methods/data that LabVIEW would need, but I'm not 100% certain.

• Select schemas from relational model on import from data dictionary option

Hi All,
I have one relational model with 3 diferent schemas,
I want to compare one of my schemas with the data dictionary I have in a database,
I select the import option in the general file menu, select from data dictionary option,
select the connection from my database,swap target model checked,select a physical model and select the objects i want to compare from the database,
My problem is that the result is the comparison between all the objects in my model and the objects in the database that I have selected,
what I really want is to compare a list of objects in my model to a list of objects in my database,
this could be possible? or always need to compare all the objects of the model?
Thanks in advance

Hi jbellver,
there is no any development in DM 3.1.0.691 on that problem. In production release you'll be able to compare objects in subview with database or just to select several objects and compare them with database. And of course "generate in DDl" filtering still can be used - it works at "Compare dialog" level.
