InputComboboxListOfValues : How to display a label instead of the value ?

Hi,
I have a page containing a inputComboboxListOfValues component. This works fine but when I select a value, the field then takes the item code (not displayed in the combo bos LOV model) instead of the label.
How can I do the same as http://myadfnotebook.blogspot.com/2010/09/getting-string-value-or-item-code-of.html but with inputComboboxListOfValues since the list may be very long ?

Create a view object that is based on two entities (e.g. EmployeeVO based on Employees entity and Departments entity). Then choose the descriptive attribute (e.g. Department name from Departments entity) to be included in the query. Build the table dragging the EmployeeVO and then deselect e.g. departmentId so that department name remains

Text Box issue - displays XML tag instead of the value in EBS

I need to use a textbox (or a autoshape with text) to place a data element in a specific position on the page in an RTF template. I tried using tables and it didn't help. This layout needs some elements to be placed at specific location and using an autoshape or a text box is easy. When I preview the pdf output on my desktop, it works fine. Once I upload the template into EBS XML Publisher, the value in the text box shows up as an XML Tag instead of the value in that tag. The same XML data when loaded and previewed locally shows the data instead of the tag.
Any thoughts on this? Is there a patch or something we might need for this in EBS?

Thanks Tim for the quick response.
Yes - the versions are same. Also, I tried giving the complete path. The issue is that it is not even reading the text in the text box as an XML tag. It seems to think the whole text box is an object and hence just display that text as is. If it was reading and not able to resolve it, I guess it would have displayed blank (and not the tag as is). Again as I mentioned it works fine in local preview on my machine.

Hi,
If you are using BI 7.0 ,goto Query designer and click the properties under the 'Query'. Then select 'Value Display' from the properties and there is a drop-down 'Display Zeroes' . You can choose 'Zero as Space' from that drop-down for the query.

However i have an issue whenever the form is opened again either to view or edit, it displays the current users information

I think it is how the current user information is stored based on your logic.
You might be quering current value again when loading the form (Form load Rule).
you have to tweak your logic, after the user submits the form you can set the username to the one who saved it.
or in form load, write a logic to see if the form was not saved before and then query the username( by using internal field like "formstatue")

If your are using BPC 10 with EPM add in client, you can use the function:
EPMDimensionProperty ()
This function retrieves the properties of a specified dimension in a specified cell range.

How to display multi-channel image in the 'proxy'?

There're many examples to show how to display composite channels in the 'proxy'. But I don't find any example to show how to display multi-channel image in the 'proxy'. I found that I can use PSPixelOverlay to display alpha channel data like this:

Then, Seeing red part, it will trigger a new problem, that is how to get the color value of the alpha channel by plung-in itself? It seems that no channel color value info is in FilterRecord.

This is what I've been doing - was just curious if there was a way to see a more cohesive image.
If the individual EQ plugins are in fact the answer, is there any way to smooth how the Analyzer displays? The image I posted above, all of the tonal curves are very smooth. The analyzer tool shows a lot of peaks and valleys within the overall curve and it's hard to pinpoint each instrument's "sweet spot." Vocals for example are very hard to spot.

check if the infoobject is kept as lang dependent or not for material text, else you need to create a masterdata attribute with text and lang keys and do corresponding mapping, so then it can be displayed in your report

I need my label to remember the value of the previous number in item renderer

I have a label used as an item renderer and the dataprovider frequently changes. I need my label to remember the value of the previous number it was assigned to {data.ask} but am having trouble doing this.
Any ideas how to do this?

IWDDropDownByKey - Key is shown instead of the value in View

Hi,
we found some strange behaviour when we dynamically generate some IWDDropDownByKey UI-Elements in an IWDTransparentContainer. In IExplorer and Firefox all data looks well. The values in the IWDDropDownByKey-Elements are shown as expected.
In one case with Internet Explorer 7 (and only on one Client-PC) we have an issue, that instead of the value (normal text) the key is shown in the dropdown-field in the view!
Do you know about some bugs regarding to the IWDDropDownByKey-Element with IExplorer 7?

How to avoid report running for all the values in roll up of guided naviga

I have 3 reports on three different pages of a dashboard. (Implemented guided navigation on one column of each report).When I click on value of guided navigation column it guides me to report 2 for that particular value (is prompted), same way for 3 report also till here it works fine.
However when I return from report 3 to report 2 and 2 to 1, the reports are running for all the values instead for the value which was passed by guided navigation of previous report earlier (Value on which I clicked to pass to the next report).

Example : If i click on values 'X' in report 1
Report 2 shows results for 'X' only. And if i click on Value say 'Y' in 2 then report 3 shows for only 'Y'. But when i rollup from 3 to 2, Report 2 is showing for all values rather than showing 'x'.
I'm using Link or Image Dashboard Object > Destination>Request or Dashboard (path of previous report)

How to display mapviewer labels in two lines instead of one?

I have been using the addJDBCTheme to display the map along with the labels as follows:
mapviewer.addJDBCTheme("aaa","a", "SELECT geom, col1 || ':' || col2 label_value from table_name","GEOM","","styleName","label_value","T.ROAD NAME" ,false);
So the label is displayed as col1Value:col2Value.
Now I need to display the label as follows:
col1Value
col2Value
I tried using this
mapviewer.addJDBCTheme("aaa","a", "SELECT geom, col1 || chr(10) || col2 label_value from table_name","GEOM","","styleName","label_value","T.ROAD NAME" ,false);
But it doesnt work. This displays col1Valuecol2Value
So I tried using this:
mapviewer.addJDBCTheme("aaa","a", "SELECT geom, col1 label_value from table_name UNION ALL SELECT geom, col2 label_value from table_name","GEOM","","styleName","label_value","T.ROAD NAME" ,false);
This actually works. Meaning it displays the label in two lines. But the two lines are almost attached together, there is no space between them at all. It is sometimes very difficult to read.
Would really appreciate any suggestions to resolve this issue.
Is there any other solution to display a label in two lines? I tried changing the label style to set the line-height. But that does'nt work either.

In x-axis i got it by sorting order also but in y-axis i'm unable to do
i need in y-axis ,my column values are L1,L2,L3,----L10these shuold display in y-axis in sorting order and 0 in axis should remain as it is ..........how to take the interval ....? as of now i'm using Auto

Per my understanding that you want to display the values(Column1) like "L1,L2,L3....L10" which comes from the "Series group" in the Y-Axis label and keep the row group in "Category group" to
display in the x-axis and Numric column(1,2,3,4) in the "Value", right?
Gernerally the lable display in the y-axis is automatically based on the value of the Numric column in the "Value" and it default is numbric labels.
I have tested on my local environment and in your scenario, i suggest to hide the axis lable of the y-axis and create an tablix to only show the one column contains the values (L1,L2,L3,L3) to display in the place of the hidden y-axis label.
Detais information about to design an new y-axis label ae below for your reference:
Create an tablix to display only the row group of the "Column1" ( for the
Column1 may have duplicate values, you can create parent row group for this column and hide the detail column by setting the "Column Visibility").
Right click the y-axis to select the "Vertical Axis Properties" and select the "Labels" on the left pane to check the "Hide Axis labels"
Select the Chart Area and in the properties set value of left=0 under the CustomPosition:
Set the border style=None for both the Chart and Column1's row group
Drag the tablix at the position near the hidden y-axis and set the size of both the chart and the tablix to make the value in the tablix row group(Column1) to be align with the y-axis label:
Right click the "Chart legend" to delete or hide the legend

I have created a Radio Buttons group by using JURadioButtonGroupPanel on the JPanel, then I entered 2 values (Y,N) in the Radio ButtonGroup Binding Editor under set of values field. When running the form, I could see the values. However, What should I do next if I want to show more meaningful wordings ('Yes', 'No') i/o the values (Y,N) on the screen ? Thanks in advance.

I try to avoid using JURadioButtonGroupPanel and try to use comboboxes or checkboxes instead. But that's not always feasible. I have just recently noticed the bug about the radio buttons not being enabled/disabled based on the specification and/or an overwritten isAttributeUpdateable in the view object/entity so I have not had the time to figure out a solution or posting a bug report.
But the "rowImpl" text for the radio button labels it seems to me that an extra refreshControl solves it most of the time. I subclassed JURadioButtonGroupPanel, below is my overwritten createButtons method which checks for this "ugly label", refreshes the control and tries again (max 10 times). Maybe not the most elegant solution but sadly ADF Swing does not often give space for the most elegant solutions (unless you study the framework very hard (by reading the source code, documentation is sparse) and rewrite big chunks of it).
