Insert current date/time and username into form.
Apologies for newbie question.
I have a form based on table Customer, within the table I have username and modifiedDate columns. How can I populate these text fields with the current user and current date/time ?
Thanks.
Excellent, thanks for the fast response. I had this working and then tried in on a new form and now it fails to populate the desired fields.
I have created a process named "Insert date and username", Type P/SQL anonymous block. On Load - After Header, Once Per Page Visit.
select :APP_USER, to_char(SYSDATE,'DD-MON-YYYY HH24:MI:SS')
INTO :P16_USERNAME, :P16_MODIFIEDDATE
from dual;
Sorry for the hand holding!

Insert current date/time problem in ViewObject
Hi!
I'm trying to setAttribute to a Date type field.
I have a method:
public String getCurrDateString() throws ParseException, java.sql.SQLException {
SimpleDateFormat formatter = new SimpleDateFormat ("dd-MMM-yyyy hh:mm:ss aa");
Date currentTime_1 = new Date();
return formatter.format(currentTime_1);
All the time i call this method such as:
HistoryViewImpl histVO=getHistoryView();
Row r=histVO.createRow();
r.setAttribute("Entrydatetime",cp.getCurrDateString());
I get oracle.jbo.domain.DataCreationException: JBO-25009: Cannot create an object of type:oracle.jbo.domain.Date with value:19-Jun-2002 10:14:33 AM
the strange thing is, that Oracle recognizes this kind of format, because if I use different pattern such as "yyyy-MM-dd", which returns string "2002-06-19", r.setAttribute("Entrydatetime",cp.getCurrDateString()) method works fine and in Oracle table field we have inserted value 19-Jun-2002 12:00:00 PM. The problem is, that i don't need 12:00:00 PM as a time, i need current time.
What am i doing wrong? Or does it mean that oracle.jbo.domain.Date doesn't know format "dd-MMM-yyyy hh:mm:ss aa"?Hi!

HistoryViewImpl histVO=getHistoryView();
Row r=histVO.createRow();
r.setAttribute("Entrydatetime",cp.getCurrDateString());Instead of passing in the "String" pass the date object as is. oracle.jbo.domain.Date should be able to convert java.sql.Date/Time/Timestamp and store the time bits as set.
If you have to pass in string, then establish a Formatter on the attribute with appropriate date format and then use the AttributeHints interface from the relevant AttributeDef object on the row to parse the input String into a valid parsed object that you can set into the row.
(See oracle.jbo.uicli.binding.JUCtrlValueBinding.setAttributeInRow() method for a complete usage - source in bc4j\src\bc4juisrc.zip)
I get oracle.jbo.domain.DataCreationException: JBO-25009: Cannot create an object of type:oracle.jbo.domain.Date with value:19-Jun-2002 10:14:33 AM

As of version 31, why is there still no Thunderbird option to QUICKLY insert current date and time in message that you are writing?
Literally have seen this very-much-needed -- and used -- option "promised" for three years now, and even if there's only one or two formats that could be used, at least the option is there.
It seems only way is to link a Macro and tool to Thunderbird and do it that way.
Joe Rotello
[email protected]
Skype: joerotelloWhere was it promised? A quick search of Bugzilla didn't find a functionality request bug report for it.
I assume you're aware that Mozilla stopped development about 2 years ago (just adds security/stability fixes and provides infrastructure) and all new features and bug fixes are now added by the community. They seem pretty tied up with bug fixes and reworking some hard to maintain components such as the MIME support.
Have you tried the Timestamp add-on at https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/thunderbird/addon/timestamp/ ? The version at AMO doesn't support versions later than 2.0 so you'd need to do something like install the disable add-on compatibility checks add-on at https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/thunderbird/addon/checkcompatibility/?src=ss, and ignore the warning message about Timestamp not being compatible. However, the author has a version at http://extensions.sanjer.nl/?page=tb_ts that supposedly supports up to Thunderbird 11.9.x so it should be "compatible by default as it supports version 5 or later and is not a binary add-on like Lightning or Enigmail.
"For Thunderbird use the context menu (right click popup) in the compose window, Ctrl+Shift+T or "Options | Insert timestamp" to inserts the date/time into a message" -

With 10.7.2 update iCal does not allow you to set "Reminders" by draging events from "All Day Events" into "Reminders" is there another way to do this instead of having to type out the entire reminder with date, time, and type?
With Lion 10.7.1. you where able to drag events from "All Day Events" into the "Reminders" bar to create upcoming reminders.Exactly the same question I was about to post!
Great being able to sync reminders (well overdue) however if I have to re-type a calener envent into reminders it's a waste of time!!
Come on Apple!!
Just need an option for the calender event to add to reminder or the old drag to add to reminder functionality back, Please??? -
How can I make the current date/time be sent when emailing as XML?
I'm creating a form for a customer to use for submitting print jobs. This customer will be emailing the XML form data, which will in turn be converted into a production order. I'd like to make the PDF form capture my customer's system time, so that I know when they filled out the form. I COULD just leave that up up the customer and use required current date and time fields, but that provides the ability for the customer to falsify that information.
Is there any good way to capture the current date/time in the XML data, so that the customer doesn't need to nor has the ability to?
Any suggestions would be great!You can use the following methods getHours(),getMinutes(), and getSeconds() from the date object to obtain the values for hour,minute,and second.

Please help! Looking for script to insert current date on page.
I currently use a Dreamweaver Extension that lets you insert
current date and time on your web page.
The problem is, I don't know Javascript and cannot edit the
Javascript codes to "remove the time"
I only need the current date that will change every day.
Do you know where I can get this script, I goggled and got
several but I'm looking for something authentic.
Also is it possible to have your page validate when you use
Javascript embedded in your HTML?
Thanks everyone,

JavaScript generates the date by using the clock on the
computer of each
visitor to your site. If a visitor's clock has the wrong
date, your site
will also display the wrong date.

I don't know what you mean by "authentic". Date generation in
JavaScript
is one of the most basic features of the language, so if it
works, it's
"authentic".

Yes, but you shouldn't embed JavaScript in XHTML.

So mr. Powers are there people that use Javascript Date in
their page?
Would you recommend it?
I could use PHP but I don't know PHP,
How do I come up with the string in this format, say,
Wednesday, October 29th, 2008 that will change to a new day
according to the server time and date.
Thanks so much for your help and I have two of your books! I
will be taking PHP classes in December.

How to get Client(browser) current date/time in BIP report
Hi,
I need to display report generated date in BIP report and this should be client(browser) current date/time. I tried the following things.
1. have used MS Word Native Date/time using Insert->Date/Time. And we have chosen the M/d/yyyy h:mm:ss am/pm format. but it is printing BIp server date/time, not client date/time.
2. <?xdofx:sysdate?>, <?xdoxslt:sysdate_as_xsdformat()?> and <?format-date:xdoxslt:sysdate_as_xsdformat();'SHORT_TIME'?> are giving GMT Date/Time, but we need client Date/Time.
3.<?xdoxslt:sysdate('DD-MON-YYYY HH12:mi:ss')?> is giving the system date/time of the machine where BIP server is installed.
Could you provide some help in this??
Thanks
HariHello, Hari,
what would return something like this:
Execution date:
<?xdoxslt:current_date('ja-JP', 'Asia/Tokyo')?>
<?xdoxslt:current_time('ja-JP', 'Asia/Tokyo')?>
@Vetsrini,
for my opinion,
in the countries where time is switching (winter/summer) using the hard coded time zones in the format-date() cause a problem:
for example:
if we enter the date in date prompt in summer it will return PM_DT = 2010-07-20T00:00:00.000+04:00
in winter 2010-07-20T00:00:00.000+03:00, so,
using <?format-date:PM_DT;'DD.MM.YYYY';'GMT+3'?> return 2010-07-20 in winter and 2010-07-19 in summer.

go to system administratioon-system configuration-support-support desk-browse deployment-check for com.sap.porta.navigation.masthead.par and download it to nwds.
when you import it to NWDS jar file will be missing so you need to manually add that to PORTAL-INF/private/lib.
once you do this go to HeaderiView.jsp in PORTAL-INF/jsp folder.
write
<%= new java.util.Date()%> after <hbj:form id="HeaderForm">.for that matter u can write this at any line after this statement
once you do that select qucik par upload from the tool bar and deploy it.
go to system administration-system configuration-support-support desk-administration console and upload the par file
before following these steps take a backup of par file

Can't get access in Time Machine to certain folders for any date earlier than current date/time, even when entering as Admin. Why do certain folders have small red "-" badge in lower right corner of folder icon? Here's a picture of the dilemma:
I've tried monkeying with priveleges using Command I, and changing users, but to no avail. Can anyone help?Right. Here's what the permissions look like from the Finder Command I:
I'm not sure what "Custom" means, but when I then try to change it to "Read & Write", it doesn't take.... just comes back as Custom. How to get sqlplus to print the current date/time
From a unix command line I can type:
prompt> date; <any_Cmd>; date
This will result in a timestamp being output before and after the command you inserted. Is there a way to make sqlplus print the current date/time after it is done executing an sql statment. This would be useful for me to know how long it took to execute and sql statement without watching it.
Something like:
SQL> select * from table; date;u cld set the following statements in sql*plus :
sql>set time on
sql>set timing on
hope this solves ur problem. -

Hi Philip,
There is an SAP formula variable to supply the current date in a formula. I think it is 0F_ADAY...install it from business content if you cannot see it in the query designer (formula box, under formula variables) and try using it.
Hope this helps... -
Question on date, time and time stamp related - high priority
Hi friends,
My requirement is to find the processing time (time taken) of a task done by an agent in wf. For that I use Start Date, Start Time, End Date and End Time ( from struc SWP_LOGTAB ). I have to display the time taken by an agent in the form WWd XXh YYm (or WWd XXh YYm ZZs) ex: 2d 10h 40m 20s.
Can any one suggest me the right FMs which take start and end date/time and give me the above format result?
This can be achieved manually with unnecessary Ifs and CASEs but its gonna be a performance issue. Please suggest me something SAP standard.
Thanks in advace for your help
ReddyHi,
I don't find any function module, but it does'nt really hard to code this using DIV and MOD instructions :
If you've got your time in seconds :
w_day = w_time DIV 86400.
w_mod = w_time MOD 86400.
w_hour = w_mod DIV 3600.
w_mod = w_mod MOD 3600.
It doesn't seem too bad in term of performance....

ReddyHi
I will refer you to use SWWIHEAD table to retrieve start date and End Date of a Task. You have to write aprogram for this. You can find out the task from the field TS94000083 from WI_RH_TASK.
<b>Please provide points if useful</b>

UTC Date Time and Normal Date Time
Hi All,
1. How UTC date time and Normal date time differs in siebel.
2. If legacy data needed to be loaded into siebel, in siebel few fields are date time and UTC date time fields. what would happen if we load both normal date time and UTC date time without considering them techinically?
3. UTC date time holds any specific format in physical database? If we want to load legacy data to UTC date time format what is the query to manipulate it?
Thankyou
