Insert while using multi table

Hi
I have created a class and using multi table feature to retrieve fields from couple of tables. These tables are associated via Foreign key. This works fine while select, but fails while insert a new record in primary table using unitOfWork.
Here is the peice of code i am using
UnitOfWork uow = CfToplink9Helper.getUnitOfWork();
uow.registerNewObject(basketEntry);
uow.commit();

Splitter operator doesnt use multi table inserts in OWB...very very urgent

Hi,
I am using OWB 9i to carry out tranformations. I want to copy the same seuence numbers to the two target tables.
Scenario:
I have a source table source_table, which is connected to a splitter and the splitter is used to dump the records in two target tables namely target1_table and target2_table. I have a sequence which is also an input to the splitter, so that I can have the same sequence number in the the two output groups of he splitter. I then map the sequence number from the two output groups to the two target tables expecting to have the same sequence number in the target tables. But when I see the generated code it creates two procedures and effectively inserts sequencing numbers in the target tables which are not consistent. Please help me so that I have the same sequencing numbers in the target tables which are consistent.
Well the above example works in row based operating mode but not in set based mode. Please give me a valid explanation.
OWB pdf says that splitter uses multi table inserts for multiple targets. After seeing the generated code for set based operations I dont agree to this.
Its very urgent.

I have three tables T1,T2 and T3.
T1 is the source table and the remaining two tables T2 and T3 are target tables.
Following are the contents of table T1 -

ELEC A.P
Now I want to populate the two destination tables T2 and T3 with the records in T1.
For this I am using splitter operator in OWB which is suppose to generate multi table inserts, but unfortunately its not doing so when I generate the SQL. There si no "insert all" command in the sql it generates.
What I want is, when I populate T2 and T3 I use a sequence generator and I want the same sequences for T2 and T3 eg.
SQl>select * from T2;
NEXT_VAL DEPTNAME LOCATIO?N
1 COMP PUNE
2 MECH BOMBAY
3 ELEC A.P
SQl>select * from T3;
NEXT_VAL DEPTNAME LOCATIO?N

I am able to achieve this when I set the operating mode to ROW BASED. I am not geting the same result when I set the operating mode to SET BASED.

1. I have a urgent customer encounterd a design issue and customer was trying to add 3 logical joins between SDI_GPOUP_MEMBERSHIP and these 3 tables (FACT_HOSPITAL_FINANCE_DTLS, FACT_HOSPITAL_BEDS_UTILZN and FACT_HOSPITAL_ATRIBUTES)
2. They found found out by adding these 3 joins, they ended with circular error.
[nQSError: 15001] Could not load navigation space for subject area GXODS.
[nQSError: 15009] Multiple paths exist to table DIM_SDI_CUSTOMER_DEMOGRAPHICS. Circular logical schemas are not supported.
In response to this circular error, the developer was able to bypass the error using aliases, but this is not desired by client.
3. They want to know how to avoid this error totally without using alias table and suggest a way to resolve the circular join(Multiple Path) error.
Appreciated if someone can give some pointer or suggestion as the customer is in stiff deadline.

Prob while using check table

Hi
I am trying to create a table in SE11.
The problem is, for 1 field I am using check table. But while creating the entries it is just acting as a value table, not as check table. Same thing is repeating in the case of fixed values to domain also.
Please help me in this regard.

Assign the Foriegn key relationship to the field and creating the foreign key relation ship check whether the check box check required is check are not.

CMP insert failure using secondary table

I've defined a CMP with a column from a secondary table.
The retrieval/updates work fine, but I'm getting a failure
on insert. It's trying to insert a duplicate primary key into the secondary table. I do NOT want to insert into the secondary table when I insert into the primary table. I just want to retrieve data from that table on findByPrimaryKey from the
primary table. Is there any way to do this??

How can you retrieve from the secondary table w/o inserting into it? Can you send me your table definition? What error do you get?

Error while using External Table

Hi Guru's,
I am using external tables in my procedure and the code to create it will be dynamically built inside the procedure itself. I have tested it so many times and it works fine only. But suddenly now it is throwing some error and i was not able to figure out the problem.

Sometimes when troubleshooting issues like this it is helpful to output the dynamic SQL generated to the screen or spool it to a text file. From there it's usually easy to determine where the problem lies.
If you can provide that one of the forum members can figure it out.

Problem with format displayed in output while using Pivot table

Hi All,
I am using Pivot table in 10.1.3.4.1 version for displaying dynamic type data. Data is coming fine but it is coming in very strange format. I have following two tables in my RTF Template.
Table1 using Pivot table

In the output PDF, “Table 2” shows data fine but “Table 1” shows very strange kind of behaviour if the columns exceed more than 5 in “Table 1” . If columns in Pivot table output are more than 5[at present according to my Table1 size] then columns more than 5 are shown on next page after Table 2 instead of displaying inside outer table “Table1“. Anyone has any idea what is the reason behind this strange behavior and how can I avoid it ?

How to Add and delete a row while using Abstract Table Model

Hi,
I need to do the following functionalities in JTable.I've done tht but a small problem.
1. Adding a row (Using addRow() method from DefaultTableModel).
2. Deleting a row(Using setRowCount() method from Default Table Model).
3. Sorting the table based on the selection of column(Using TableSorter which is using AbstracTableModel).
As the sorting is mandatory i've to change my model to Abtract Table Model
The problem is this Abstract Table Model doesn't have any methods to Add a row or deleting a row (setRowCount()).If anybody has written any utility method for this using Abstract Table Model help me.

Using TableSorter which is using AbstracTableModel).If your talking about the TableSorter class from the Swing tutorial, then you create the TableSorter class by passing it a TableModel. There is no reason you can't use the DefaltTableModel.
I changed the code in TableSorterDemo as follows:

Insert while using Decode Statement

Hi,
I have a unique problem(I think so). Is it possibe to insert into a table while selecting from another table using DECODE function. I am giving the select statement below. When I run this statement it says that missing expression. I could not find out the mistake. Is this query right or any changes to be made. Moreover I would like to know whether it is the right way of doing.
The SQL Statement is as follows.
SQL> select decode(EV,'E',(INSERT INTO assets1 VALUES
(31,NULL,NULL))) from assets;

U Cannot do that ... B'cos u cannot have Insert Inside a Select.
What you can do is... Right a Small Pl/SQL Block which will do that for you.

Error while using Oracle Table as source file :- ODQ for ODI

I am getting some errors while working on ODQ with Oracle Tables as source file.
If I am trying with text files (*.txt) as source and output it works fine.
Please let me know how we can connect to an oracle table which is my source file.
In the exported project -> “settings” folder
In the file named eN_transfmr_pXX.stx
For

I tried with

i am not sure , is there any thing missing ???

If I am running the batch file directly from CMD Prompt it’s displaying the error message
“Cannot open file”
If I am connecting with ODI it’s displaying the error
com.sunopsis.dwg.function.SnpsFunctionBaseException: OS command returned 3503. …………………….

Hi Ratish,
ODQ supports files as inputs not Oracle tables, what you should do is:
- define an ODQ process that takes a file as an input.
- create an ODI process that dumps your Oracle table into a file that will be used by ODQ. (interface or OdiSqlUnload step)
- run the ODQ process in ODI (in a package)
- create an ODI interface that will load your ODQ output file into a DB.
You can profile Oracle tables directly using Oracle Data Profiling.

SOM Error while using Dynamic Tables

Hi Gurus,
    I have created a Adobe form with Dynamic tables and integrated in Webdynpro ABAP.
When I test the form, while opening the form the following error occurs ..
" The SOM Expression '$record.BP_DETAILS' for the dataRef specified on field 'BP_DETAILS' ,resolved to an incompatible node of type 'dataValue'..
After I press ok in the popup error message the Interactive form is displayed and I am able to add rows dynamically .. but the data .. but on submit the data is not passed to the context..
when i change the cardinality of the context from " 0..n" to "1..n" .. this error does not appear.. but while submit only the first row is saved to the context..
Has some one come across this error.. Please let me know how to get the dynamic table data to be passed to webdynpro ..

Hi
To show dynamic data in tables using adobe,follow these steps:
1. Create a value node say DataSource of cardinality 1.n and an other value node of cardinality 0.n which actually contains data.
2. create an array or use value node to collect data which is to be transferred to adobe.
3. data can be collected using for loop and create node element inside the loop and set corresponding values of each element.
4. add this element to value node.(step 3,4 are to be performed under loop)
5.You can use reverse loop to read and send data from adobe to data base which can be performed under submit button to sap.

Regarding the count(*) while using with table alias

Hi,
I have question in Count(*). Will it work with table allias.
It works when I use like below
"select count(*) po_header_id from po_headers_all" -- its working perfectly
but , when i queried like below its not working,
"select count(*) poh.po_header_id from po_headers_all poh"

the words you write just after a column or an expression or a function will become an ALIAS and aliases don't have any table or scheme.
select count(*) RRRR from mytable;RRRR is an alias in this example. maybe you have a column called RRRR in the table but this is not it. so you can not put your table name as prefix to it. mytable.RRRR will indicate the column not alias. if it doesn't include a dot, it could be used as alias but dot is violating naming rules.
you could do that:
select count(*) "mytable.RRRR" from mytable;now, "mytable.RRRR" becomes your alias.

Error while using a table component in a widget

hi friends, i am trying the example from the enterprise widget development guide (https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/c032ae0a-7d6b-2a10-14a1-cc6efb066dfc) to create a widget for the BAPI_EMPLOYEE_GETDATA using the RFC but the method showTableCMainTable does not get created in the view.js file.
