If you have Enterprise manager then at that time Oracle had own tools which is ORACLE MICROSFT ACCESS TOOL check yours enterprise manager ,
ORACLE MICROSFT ACCESS TOOL need mdb format data and if i am not wrong you can convert yours excel sheet to mdb then use this mdb for ORACLE MICROSFT ACCESS TOOLS it is wizard base GUI tool play with it its easy you can achieve it.
ORACLE MICROSFT ACCESS TOOLS now it comes in ENAHNCED shape

  • How to insert XML/dtd data into oracle db

    Hi,
    I have posted this question on couple
    sites and unfortunately I haven't received
    any response. Hopefully this time,
    someone can at least direct me to the
    website/document/sample codes which can provide me solutions of my question.
    My question is:
    Given a DTD, can the XML SQL Utility generate
    the database schema?
    I am trying to find out how the XML data can
    be loaded into the oracle database.
    Thanks in advance,
    Judy
    null

    A DTD does not contain enough information to do a good job at creating a database schema. It contains no datatype information, no field length information for starters, so a table created by a hypothetical DTD->to->Tables utility would be at best able to create a table with all VARCHAR2(4000) columns. Not that useful.
    My book contains lots of examples of techniques for loading XML data into Oracle, include lots of sample code and a whole chapter devoted to building a flexible "XMLLoader" utility for loading XML of arbitrary size into the database.

  • How to insert multi language data to oracle database

    Hi ,
    Can any one suggest the steps involved in implementing storage/retrieval of data in the language otherthan english on the database?. I am using Oracle 9i database.
    I want to write sql scripts to insert data to the database.How can i insert the data in the language otherthan english i.e hindi. ensuring storage and display of data is fine at the backend.
    CHARACTERSET is set AL32UTF8 and need to insert the data in the NVARCHAR2 datatype enabled column.
    Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Poornima

    If you can write the text in Notepad, then enter the text and save the file with the encoding "Unicode big endian". Then, open the file in a hex editor. The first two bytes will be 0xFE and 0xFF (this is the Byte Order Mark). This code should be skipped for database storage as it is relevant to flat files only. What follows are two-byte character codes that you can put into UNISTR calls. The file with the word "Patra" will show up in the hex editor as:
    FE FF 09 2a 09 24 09 4d 09 30
    If you can enter the characters in your HTML browser, you can use the very useful conversion page at http://rishida.net/tools/conversion/ (this is not an official endorsement from Oracle but my personal advice). Enter the characters into the "Characters" text area and click on the corresponding [Convert] button. The "Hexadecimal code points" field will tell you the codes that you need to prefix with backslash and put into the UNISTR call.
    If you are unable to enter the characters on your workstation, then you can identify each letter in the text and look it up in the Unicode character database at http://www.unicode.org/Public/UNIDATA/Index.txt or http://www.unicode.org/Public/UNIDATA/NamesList.txt. The four-digit hexadecimal codes listed there are what you are looking for. Unfortunately, such lookup will not work for Chinese Han and Japanese Kanji characters as they have no names in Unicode.
    Another method is to use files in another language-specific encoding and convert them to Unicode before loading them into the AL32UTF8 database.

  • How to insert data into Oracle db from MySQL db through PHP?

    Hi,
    I want to insert my MySQL data into Oracle database through PHP.
    I can access Mysql database using mysql_conect() & Oracle database using oci_connect() through PHP.
    Now How can I insert my data which is in MySQL into Oracle table. Both table structure are exactly same.
    So I can use
    insert into Oracle_Table(Oracle_columns....) values(Select * from MySQL_Table);
    But again problem is I can't open both connections at the same time.
    So has anyone done this before or anyone having any other idea..
    Plz guide me...

    You can do it if you setup a ODBC Gateway between MYSQL and Oracle DB. Then you can directly read from MySQL table using DB links and insert into Oracle table in one single SQL Statement.
    Otherwise you need to fetch the data from MySQL Into variables in your PHP Program and then insert into Oracle after binding the variables to the insert statement for Oracle. Hope that is clear enough.

  • How to insert more than 32k xml data into oracle clob column

    how to insert more than 32k xml data into oracle clob column.
    xml data is coming from java front end
    if we cannot use clob than what are the different options available

    Are you facing any issue with my code?
    String lateral size error will come when you try to insert the full xml in string format.
    public static boolean writeCLOBData(String tableName, String id, String columnName, String strContents) throws DataAccessException{
      boolean isUpdated = true;
      Connection connection = null;
      try {
      connection = ConnectionManager.getConnection ();
      //connection.setAutoCommit ( false );
      PreparedStatement PREPARE_STATEMENT = null;
      String sqlQuery = "UPDATE " + tableName + " SET " + columnName + "  = ?  WHERE ID =" + id;
      PREPARE_STATEMENT = connection.prepareStatement ( sqlQuery );
      // converting string to reader stream
      Reader reader = new StringReader ( strContents );
      PREPARE_STATEMENT.setClob ( 1, reader );
      // return false after updating the clob data to DB
      isUpdated = PREPARE_STATEMENT.execute ();
      PREPARE_STATEMENT.close ();
      } catch ( SQLException e ) {
      e.printStackTrace ();
      finally{
      return isUpdated;

  • Insert data into oracle based on sql server data(here sql server acting as source to oracle and destination to oracle)

    Source is Oralce. Destination is SQL Server.
    Requirement - I have to fetch sql server server data (empid's) based emp table  and send this as input data to oracle to fetch and empid's are common.
    I cannot use merge or loopkup or for each as oracle have too many records.
    For example - In MS SQL - i have empid=1,2..Only these records, I have to fetch from oracle source into sql server destination. For this, I have adopted the below approaches...The major problem I face, when i build a empid's as a string, it is taking only
    4000 chars. My string lenght is 10000. How do I breakup this string lengh and send to data flow task till all broken strings length passed to DFT.
    Approach-1
    created two variables - oraquery string, empid string
    step1 - ms sql database - created sql task - declare @empid varchar(max)
    SELECT @empid=
    Stuff((SELECT ',' + empid
            FROM
            (SELECT  DISTINCT  convert(varchar(10),empid ) empid FROM emp
             ) x
            For XML PATH ('')),1,1,'')
    select @empid =    '(' +  @empid + ')'
    select @empid
    resultset=singlerow
    resultset=resultname=0; variablename=User::empid (empid is declared as string)
    step2 - oracle database - created data flow task
    created oledb source
    I put  this statemnt in oraquery expression - "select * from dept where dept in  "
    +  @[User::empid] + "
    expression=true
    [OLE DB Source [1]] Error: SSIS Error Code DTS_E_OLEDBERROR.  An OLE DB error has occurred. Error code: 0x80040E14.
    An OLE DB record is available.  Source: "Microsoft OLE DB Provider for Oracle"  Hresult: 0x80040E14  Description: "ORA-00936: missing expression".
    Approach-2
    created three variables - oraquery string, empid  int, loop object--when I put int then it is automatically setting to 0
    step1 - ms sql database - created sql task - SELECT  DISTINCT  convert(varchar(10),empid ) empid FROM emp
    resultset=fullresult
    resultset=resultname=0; variablename=User::loop
    step2 - created a for each loop container
    for loop editor - for each ado ennumerator
    enumerator configuration - loop
    variablemapping - variable=empid;index=0
    step3 - oracle database - created data flow task (outside for each loop. If I put inside it is taking long time)
    created oledb source
    I put  this statemnt in oraquery expression - "select * from dept where dept in  "
    +  @[User::empid] + "
    expression=true
    Data inserting in a destination table but  empid=0.

    Sorry didnt understand if your step3 is outside loop how
    @[User::empid] will get values for the empids from User::loop. The iteration happens inside loop so you
    need to have a logic to form the delimited list inside using a script task or something and concatenating everything and storing to variable @[User::empid]
    . Then only it will have full value used to be used in step3 query

  • How to enter URDU Language data in Oracle

    hi,
    im having great problems in entering Urdu Language data in Oracle 9i rel.2 database on win2000 ad. server having my client PCs on windows xp,, then front end of our application being in developing process,,in .net framework,,using vb.net,,now windows xp is supporting urdu and data in urdu language is entered properly from the front end application but oracle is not supporting it,, and not displaying right translated characters,,my country is Pakistan,,laguage is Urdu,,the character set of my database is we8mswin1252 and national character set is al16utf16,,
    plz help me wriggle out the situation.
    regards
    umar

    I am not completely certain what Oracle character sets support Urdu, but I can say that Windows-1252 certainly does not. You probably want to use UTF-8 as the database character set.
    Unfortunately, changing the database character set generally requires rebuilding the database. You cannot use the ALTER DATABASE command here, since UTF-8 is not a strict binary superset of Windows-1252.

  • Insert Chinese data in Oracle but cannot be shown when querying

    I use:
    JDK 1.1.8, Oracle 8i, thin driver.
    The OS is HP Unix.
    I successfully insert the Chinese Big5 encoding data into Oracle. But I can't show the Chinese again when I querying.
    Here's my code:
    Class.forName("oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver");
    con = DriverManager.getConnection
    ("jdbc:oracle:thin:@hpdev.wisers.com:1521
    :research", "corp", "corp");
    stmt = con.createStatement();
    String sqlString = new String("insert into filetable values(1,"
    + var1 + "," + var2 + "...)");
    stmt.executeQuery(sqlString);
    Then I show the result by "select * from filetable;". However, the Chinese Big5 encoding data cannot be shown, "+??.." is shown instead. There is no problem when the data is in English.
    I have tried
    byte[] sqlStringBytes = sqlString.getBytes("Big5");
    String newsql = new String(sqlStringBytes,"Big5");
    stmt.executeQuery(newsql);
    but still not successful.
    My NLS_LANG is
    AMERICAN_AMERICA.ZHT16BIG5
    How can I make use of this variable? How can I solve the problem?
    I am very in hurry. The program deadline is coming!! Help please!!

    Your code looks fine ?
    What's your db character set ?
    I successfully insert the Chinese Big5 encoding data into Oracle.How do you know this ? Did you verify with SQL*Plus to see whether the data can be retrieved ?
    What are var1 and var2 ?

  • Insert XML data into oracle table

    I want to insert xml data returned by the VB code into oracle table.
    As a prequisite I have installed the XDK capabilities for Oracle by installing JServer & running
    SQL scripts catxsu.sql,xmlparserv2.jar,load.sql to load the XMLSQL Utility (DBMS_XMLQuery) into the database.
    I have also granted following privileges to the user.
    Grant users access to XMLParser and XMLDom packages:
         grant execute on xmldom to public;
         grant execute on xmlparser to public;
         create public synonym xmldom for sys.xmldom;
         create public synonym xmlparser for sys.xmlparser;
    But still i am not able to create procedure which will accept input parameter as an XML document coming from front end which in turn will insert that record into simple oracle table . I am using Oracle 8.1.7
    Thanks in advance

    Would you specify the database version?
    Since DBMS_XMLSave requires DOM, you normally need to divide the huge XML before insertion.

    3. What is performance over load of each method ?

    What is a maximal latency for data changed in Oracle come into MS SQL?
    this data will be updated in CRM after 24 hours.Does it mean that data replicated from Oracle will be updated in MS SQL and should be replicated back?
    i want to know more details about these APIs etc and middle layer.what API? In MS SQL you can use Linked server and write SQLs that select from Oracle tables via that linked server and insert/update/delete into MS SQL. You can organize these SQLs into T-SQL procedures and run them in jobs.
    Also you can use MS SQL replication, snapshot or transactional, which is ugly because it places triggers on Oracle tables. I doubt that this will be approved by app vendor.
    Also you can use Oracle Streams via Transparent Gateway for MS SQL, which will be quite heavy solution.
    Also, if real-time replication is needed, you can use "middle layer" Oracle Golden Gate, which may be quite pricy for 30 tables.
    Also, if real-time replication is needed, you can use 3-rd party middle layer like DataCurrents or others.

  • Inserting data from Oracle to SQL Server 2008

    Hi All,
    I am using oracle 9.2.0.7 and SQL server 2008 in windows server 2003 operating system.
    My requirment is like below.
    1) I would liek to insert data from the Oracle database to SQL Server.
    For the above requirement we have created the ODBC, then configure the listener file, tns file, and created the db link. This part is working fine as I am able to select the data from the SQL Server.
    But when I am inserting the record from the oracle database to the SQL Server I am getting the error, (ORA-00904) Here oracle can not identified the column name.
    My insert statement is like below.
    insert into test@SQLTEST (name, fullname)
    values ('Oracle', 'Oracle server data');
    Test is the SQL server table name and sqltest is the db link name.
    If I am select the data
    select * from test@SQLTEST from Oralce I am getting the data properly.
    Thanks,
    SUN
