  • How to manually install an app in the iPhone simulator

    Hi,
    I have tried to copy my app to ~/Library/Application Support/iPhone Simulator/User/Applications but it doesn't appear in the iPhone Simulator.
    What else do I need to do? Or where do I have to copy it?
    Thanks,
    Albert

    You just set your target to your device and when you click "run", it will install it into the simulator and run it.

    Sorry, false alarm...10.5.3 failed to install properly prior to updating to beta 6 and as a result the SDK itself didn't install.

    We bought the mac.
    How can i install Itunes on Iphone simulator?
    How can I intall other files in IPhone simulator?

    I don't know, but you have posted this in the iTunes match forum. Match is a specific part of iTunes and you are less likely to find people who have detailed knowledge of such things here.
    I'd report your question elsewhere if you want an answer.

  • Working with BDB SQL API (libsqlite3.a) on iPhone Simulator

    Hi,
    I downloaded latest BDB and got a static library libsqlite3.a by compiling the code on Mac OS X (1.6.8 64bit).
    I am now trying to use this library as a drop in replacement into a SQLite project.
    I copied the SQLite database (with only one table) to a new Berkeley DB.
    I want to access this new Berkeley DB with existing code using SQLite.
    I followed following steps:
    1. Added (copied) libsqlite3.a from build directory to my project
    2. Added #import <db.h> and left #import <sqlite3.h> as it is
    3. compiled the code and ran it in iPhone simulator
    The code runs fine until I go to prepare a statement. Please see the snippet from the function below:
    - (void)initializeDatabase {
    NSMutableArray *todoArray =[[NSMutableArray alloc] init];
    self.todos = todoArray;
    [todoArray release];
    NSArray *paths = NSSearchPathForDirectoriesInDomains(NSDocumentDirectory, NSUserDomainMask, YES);
    NSString *documentsDirectory = [paths objectAtIndex:0];
    NSString *path = [documentsDirectory stringByAppendingPathComponent:@"todo.db"];
    if (sqlite3_open([path UTF8String], &database) == SQLITE_OK) {      // This is ok, opens berkeley DB
    const char *sql = "SELECT pk FROM todo";
    const char *tail;
    sqlite3_stmt *statement;
    if (sqlite3_prepare_v2(database, sql, -1, &statement, &tail) != SQLITE_OK) {    *// Fails here - table and records exist in Berkeley DB*
    if (sqlite3_step(statement) == SQLITE_ROW) {
    int primarykey = sqlite3_column_int(statement, 0);
    Todo *td = [[Todo alloc] initWithPrimaryKey:primarykey database:database];
    [todos addObject:td];
    [td release];
    } else {
    NSAssert1(0, @"Failed to read from the table '%s'.", sqlite3_errmsg(database));
    sqlite3_close(database);
    sqlite3_finalize(statement);
    } else {
    NSAssert1(0, @"Failed to open database with message '%s'.", sqlite3_errmsg(database));
    sqlite3_close(database);

    After i installed ios 7 in my iPhone 4s and I got problem to login into my icloud account.
    There is a message appear and said  "the operation couldn't be completed (com.apple.appleaccount error 403)"
    can you help me ? how can i fix this problem ?
    iPhone 4, iOS 7
    iPhone 4S, iOS 7, (com.apple.appleaccount error 403)"

    Error: com.apple.appleaccount error 403
    Recreate Error: On a Iphone/Ipad device that has "already" created the maximum of 3 per device Apple limit of ICloud account creation attempt to create or login to ICloud service tab in Settings. You will be presented with "com.apple.appleaccount error 403" which does not tell the laymen anything useful.
    Cause: IOS 7 reports a "best guess" error instead of detailed error explanation.
    How To Resolve Error: Find a device that has not been used to create an ICloud account the maximum 3 times and use it to create the ICloud account by logging into the Settings/ICloud tab with the Apple ID you want a ICloud account created for.
    Keep in mind this will use up one of the three lifetime allowed ICloud account creations allowed by Apple on that device.
    Also per support: If an existing account is logged into the ICloud service. A. Backup phone using iTunes on a mac/pc. B. At bottome of Settings/ICloud Delete the account "AND" all the user date from the phone. It will offer the Delete all data option. The reason for Deletion(and is why we backed up on a pc vs. the cloud) is when you create the new ICloud account it will backup all of the Device owners information to the wrong persons account.
    Once you have created the new ICloud account log into that account on device that was presenting error: "com.apple.appleaccount error 403" it should allow the ICloud login.
    Once you have verified the "device with error" is ICloud functional delete the ICloud account from the device used to seed the ICloud account and delete again all user data from cloud. Restore the recently created mac/pc Itunes locally created backup to the phone and then go to Settings/ICloud and login with the device owners Apple ID and password and verify your backup to the ICloud settings and Eureka! your done.
    It took less time to do that for me to type this lol.

    What can I do  ? Thank you very much!!!

    I found this on stack overflow.com and thought it would apply to this article discussion for some users even though I don't understand how to revert the version (through git?)
    I think this is a compatibility issue. I think the .xib has moved to Xcode 4 (as shown by the line setenv IBC_MINIMUM_COMPATIBILITY_VERSION 4.2) which Xcode 3.2's version of ibtooldoes not understand.
    I think you need to revert to a version of the .xib prior to the update to Xcode 4.""

  • How to generate an ipa for iPhone

    I am developing an application using the Adobe "Burrito"andthe package for iPhone. Does anyone know whether it is possible to generate an ipa to be tested in the emulator of the iPhone without the need to have a provisioning profile or a P12 certificate.

    You can test the app on your desktop using Flash builder or by running via adl from the commandline using the correct profile simulation options (should be explained in the docs).
    We don't support the iphone simulator that ships with xcode

  • Problem Launching iPhone simulator

    Hi,
    I am using the iphone simulator 3.1 with Xcode 3.1.4. When I installed the Iphone Simulator It worked extremely well. But after building 2 to 3 project it started giving me the error "error from Debugger: Failed to launch simulated application: Iphone Simulator failed to find process ID of com.yourcompany.Hello-world". I thought there might be the problem with the code but when checked thoroughly I found out this problem is with the simulator because the other project was also giving the same error. In the Xcode the projects were building without any error but when the code is build with simulator it was giving this error.
    I reinstalled the Xcode and the simulator but still it was giving same error
    Please help me out
    Regards SACHIN

    You don't transfer iphotos to itunes.  Itunes is not a photo management program.Pics taken with iphone are imported to your computer as you would from any digital camera. Photos synced to your iphone from your computer are synced one way - computer to iphone.  As they came from your computer in the first place, they should still be there, but you can use some third party app like: iStonsoft iPhone to computer transfer, Vibosoft iPhone transfer, Cool, or iPubsoft.
    There are many apps works:
    Vibosoft iPhone/iPad/iPod to computer transfer:

    I'm installing the new OS and iPhone is asking for a password to "restore" my iPhone, but I've never used a password for the phone and don't know what it is!  Can anyone help??

    You selected Encrypt iPhone Backups in iTunes.  Then you entered a password.
    It would be that specific password it is asking for.
