[INSTALLATION] Connect Xampp and MySQL?

Hi,
I want to install MySQL-PHP-Apache.
The first thing I did was to download and install MySQL.
Then, I installed Xampp.
The main reason why I installed MySQL separatly was to be able to use MySQL from a command-line. With the Xampp install, we can't.
How can I connect the MySQL install and the Xampp install? I mean that if I, for example, create a database in a command-line, involving only MySQL, the changes are not applied to the Xampp (phpMyAdmin).
I don't know if you understand...
Maybe should I install PHP and Apache separatly also (without Xampp)?
Thanks!:)

  • Steps cor connectivity java and mysql

    Hi can any one list the steps for the connectivity of java & mysql.
    jdk1.6 & mysql5

    1) Learn JDBC: http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/jdbc/index.html
    2) Obtain the MySQL JDBC driver: http://www.mysql.com/products/connector/j/
    3) Read the MySQL JDBC driver reference documentation: http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/6.0/en/connector-j-reference.html

  • Connecting to a Mysql database using CF Administrator and DW

    I can't create a mysql datasource in CF Administrator.
    If I use the following datasource settings in CF
    Administrator:
    JDBC URL: jdbc:mysql://localhost:3306/test
    Drive Class: MySQL Connector J
    AND (note the emphasis) I set my local and remote folders in
    my DW site local folder, remote folder and testing server folders
    all to C:\CFusionMX\db\, I can connect to my mysql database in CF
    Administrator.
    However, with these DW site folder settings, DW doesn't
    recognize any databases (Access or Mysql) at all.
    When I change my DW site folder settings to 'wwwroot'
    (e.g.local folder C:\CFusionMX\db\' is changed to
    'C:\CFusionMX\wwwroot') DW now lists all my CF Administrator
    databases.
    The problem is CF Administrator can't connect to my Mysql
    data sources. It gives me the error:
    "Connection verification failed for data source: javaserver
    []java.sql.SQLException: SQLException occurred in JDBCPool
    while attempting to connect, please check your username, password,
    URL, and other connectivity info.
    The root cause was that: java.sql.SQLException: SQLException
    occurred in JDBCPool while attempting to connect, please check your
    username, password, URL, and other connectivity info"
    I've tried changing the 3306 port to 8500, but this doesn't
    help.
    My java path and connector file is:
    C:\CFusionMX\wwwroot\WEB-INF\lib\mysql-connector-java-3.0.17-ga-bin.jar,
    Is this a ID/password problem? I've tried both 'root' and
    leaving the ID field in the CF Administrator add data source block,
    both to no avail. I don't have a password set in Mysql for 'root'
    either.
    Any help would be gratefully appreciated. I've been working
    on this for weeks and keep running into one problem after another.
    Thanks a million in advance.

    Can anybody help me, please? I need this in a short time for my thesis.

    From the stack trace, it says that the mm.mysql Driver was not found. This means that you have not included the mySQL JDBC driver in your classpath. You have to download the mySQL driver jar file and place that in the "lib" folder under the Tomcat installation. Then, make sure that the said jar file is included in your classpath. Hope this helps

  • PHP and MySQL Connection problem

    I am trying to make a PHP MySQL on a remote server connection in Dreamwesaver CS3.
    When I enter the information (host, user, password, etc.) and hit TEST, I get the following error message.
    "Access Denied. The file may not exist, or there could be a permission problem. Make sure you have proper authorization on the server and the server is properly configured."
    I know the user, password, etc. work, as I can access the MySQL database with other software.
    I checked with my host and they say there are no permission problems on their end.
    I have checked the settings on the Test Server page in Site Setup and everything looks correct and works there.
    I have not seen this particular problem described in other forum postings (although there are a LOT of postings on this topic!).
    Any help would be appreciated.

    I thought my testing server was the remote server and is always on as far as I know. I don't know how to turn it on or off.
    Is there some other testing server that I should be aware of?

    I know you are using remote, but is your testing server on? if not turn that on and see if that does it. it just happened to me working on remote server and could not get mysql conn to work, until I turn on my testing (developer server), then I was able to connect to mysql and the tables that I created in phpmyadmin remotly was downloaded.

  • Auto mySQL connectivity(Username and Password)

    Hey guys!
    Good Day!
    I have something to ask if possible to java and mySQL connectivity.
    I have project that connects to mysql but im using this:
    "+con1 = DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:mysql://localhost/POS_Database","root", "12345");+"
    Now, how to auto config the mysql connection not setting the username and password in the project? It configure whatever the settings of mySQL (username and password).

    you will have to have the user name and password someware. If not in the code. You casn put them in a file and read it in the code.
    Another thing that you can do is to make every user account of your software a valid user in the database. So when the user logs in to software users user name and the password is what you have to use to connect to database. But that will create a bit of a administrative overhead and also it will make it deficult to use connection pooling.

  • Few question about Java and MySQL connection

    Hi!
    I have some problems with creating connection between Java and MySQL.
    I followed the restrictions in mysql-connector-java.jar' readme, I set the CLASSPATH :
    CLASSPATH=.;D:/mysql/mysql-connector-java.jar;
    I copied this jar file to the right place (descripted above), and I used the right steps to load it:
    Class.forName('com.mysql.jdbc.Driver"); and it throws a ClassNotFoundException
    Why? All the paths are correct, everything is on the right place.... I dont know why.
    When I installed the JBuilder8, and copied the jar file to JBuilder8/jdk4/jre/lib/ext it worked without any CLASSPATH in enviromental variables.
    If I want to run my program on machines where are not JBuilder, what should I do?
    Please help, if you can.
    Thanks,
    henpanta

    Yeah. So if I compiled my program with JBuilder to an .exe file, I cant run it on other machines, if the jar file isnt in the same place?
    If I tried your advice, java -classpath mymainclass I got the next message:
    main class not found. Believe me, its there. :(

    Pardon me for repeating this topic. I have spent 2 days on this but still ended

    The similar configuration works very well under wls7.0.

    1. This assumes that you have downloaded the mysql database and configured it and started
    it by running mysqld. In my case, I installed it in d:/mysql.
    2. It also assumes that you have configured a user on the database.
    I configured a user "test" with password "test" on the database "mysql" on "localhost" using
    mysql --user=root mysql
    grant all privileges on *.* to test@localhost identified by 'test' with grant option;
    3. It assumes that you have downloaded the Connector/J zip file and pulled out the jar file.
    In my case, I renamed it and copied it to d:/mysql/lib/jdbc.jar.
    4. It is absolutely necessary that you put the jar file in your server classpath. It won't
    work without doing that. Then I booted the server.
    5. I used the WLS 8.1 console to configure the connection pool and associated data source.
    In my case, they look like the following:
    <JDBCConnectionPool DriverName="org.gjt.mm.mysql.Driver"
    Name="mysql" Password="test"
    Properties="user=test"
    Targets="myserver"
    TestTableName="SQL SELECT 1"
    URL="jdbc:mysql://localhost:3306/mysql"/>
    <JDBCTxDataSource
    JNDIName="myDataSource"
    Name="myDataSource"
    PoolName="mysql"
    Targets="myserver"/>
    Note that the console uses the old class name for the driver. There is a new class name but
    the old name still exists and we figured it would cover folks using the old and new classes.
    6. I'll attach a client program that looks up the datasource associated with the connection pool,
    gets a connection, and does some stuff with the connection.
    The user/password combination must have security priviledges in WLS to reserve a connection
    on the pool.
    The code for this program is taken almost entirely from the WLS JDBC documentation.
    This is all pretty standard stuff.

    Pardon me for repeating this topic. I have spent 2 days on this but still ended
    up with failure.
    The similar configuration works very well under wls7.0.
    It should not be a problem of jdbc driver or its classpath setting, since the
    system console say "successful..."
    But when I try to access jsp and servlets, it always throws execeptions. All projects
    run successfully under wls7.0 don't work.
    Please give me some advice, thanks in advance.
    The following is my connection pool setting found in config.xml:
    <JDBCConnectionPool DriverName="com.mysql.jdbc.Driver"
    Name="MySQLConnectionPool" Password="{3DES}aMsyd4ZSbSg="
    Properties="user=root" Targets="cgServer" URL="jdbc:mysql://localhost/userdb"/>
    <JDBCTxDataSource EnableTwoPhaseCommit="true"
    JNDIName="MySQLDataSource" Name="MySQLDataSource"
    PoolName="MySQLConnectionPool" Targets="cgServer"/>
    The screen shot of the exceptions is as below:

  • CS6, FTP and MySQL Connection ERRORs

    Adobe CS6 Dreamweaver
    I have the latest + updates of CS6 for Mac OS X 10.7.4.latest
    I can FTP, but files are not readable after the upload, on any web hosting provider.
    I have to use a thrid party FTP application (CyberDuck or Trnsmit) to make this happen.
    NOT HAPPY about this £2500 CS6 Master Collection spend not working !!!!
    When I try to connect via MySQL I get this error and failed actions:

    I have checked the folders & content for ...
    _mmServerScripts
    Connections
    are uploaded properly (having to use a third party FTP application, see above).
    I have the correct logins details for FTP and MySQL, as other MySQL Apps (Sequel Pro) have no problem connecting to any web hosting proivdier for MySQL using the exact same login details.
    This is the same on my iMac or my MacBook Pro.

    Hello David, I am having this issue getting errors while trying to get my SQL to connect with the server. I clicked on the link you provided and I get a "you do not have permission to view this" message. Can you please share what ever solution that adobe has with me too.
    I am really really irritated with this issue, as someone else stated this is really inconvenient when I want to get some work done. I am also upset that I bought this software, especially if I cant find a solution.

    # Add the following 3 lines to your httpd.conf file. You can put them anywhere in the file but maybe it makes sense to put them after the other LoadModule section.
    LoadModule php5_module "d:/Program Files/php/php5apache2_2.dll"

  • Connecting to a MySQL Database

    I just installed the XAMPP control panal that gives me the graphic user interface for Mysql server.
    I'm trying to connect Dreamweaver to a database I created on my local server using XAMPP.
    In Dreamweaver when I try to connect to the mysql server (and create a new database from within dreamweaver), I get an error message in a dialog box saying:
         HTTP Error code 404 file not found. Here are some possible reasons for the problem:
              1) There is no testing server running on this machine.
              2) The testing server specified for this site does not map to the http://localhost/_mmserverscripts/MMHTTPDB.php URL. Verify that the URL prefix maps to the root of the site.
    I'm sure number 1 is taken care of because of the XAMPP, but I honestly can't figure out what the heck number 2 is trying to say... I've looked through the XAMPP root folder for the _mmserverscripts/MMHTTPDB.php but I have no idea what i'm doing or where I'm doing it with this error.
    I've consulted a search through the forums for this problem and I've been following the dreamweaver support manuals.
    This stumps me.
    Can anyone please help?

    Use the following tutorial to help you define your PHP site correctly in Dreamweaver: http://www.adobe.com/devnet/dreamweaver/articles/setting_up_php_05.html.

  • Can' t connect Java with MySQL

    My goal is to connect Java with MySQL. I found many solutions on Internet, but I always get the same mistake:
    SQLException: No suitable driver
    SQLState: 08001
    VendorError: 0MySQL works fine alone or with php.Only thing left me to think is that the installed versions are not compatible for this mysql-connector-java-5.0.4
    I don't believe that could be a reason.
    Installed versions are:
    Apache Tomcat 5.5.20 Server
    Apache HTTP Server 2.2.4
    PHP 5.2.0
    MySQL 5.2
    jre 1.5.0_11
    jdk1.5.0_11
    Apache Tomacat JK2 connector Version: 1.2.20 File Name: mod_jk-apache-2.2.3.so
    mysql-connector-java-5.0.4
    I also set connector in class path: C:\mysql-connector-java-5.0.4;C:\mysql-connector-java-5.0.4\mysql-connector-java-5.0.4-bin.jar;C:\mysql-connector-java-5.0.4\src\com\mysql\jdbc
    For installation I used manulas from:
    http://apacheguide.org/jsp.php
    http://doc.51windows.net/mysql/?url=/MySQL/ch23s03.html
    Here is also a test code in java:
    import java.sql.Connection;
    import java.sql.DriverManager;
    import java.sql.SQLException;
       public class Connect
           public static void main (String[] args)
               Connection conn = null;
               try {
        conn =
           DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:mysql://localhost/first_test" +
                                       "user=monty&password=greatsqldb");
        // Do something with the Connection
    } catch (SQLException ex) {
        // handle any errors
        System.out.println("SQLException: " + ex.getMessage());
        System.out.println("SQLState: " + ex.getSQLState());
        System.out.println("VendorError: " + ex.getErrorCode());
       }i'm desperate, please help or tell me someone who'll know the answer.
    Thank You in advance

    hey buddy .. it seems yr code is wrong .. in getconnection () method u should also specify the port ,which u r not doing ...
    the default port for MySQL is 3306 ... see below i am giving you a sample code ... its working fine .. and dont forget to put the MySQL driver jar path in to classpath and also copy the jar into common/lib folder of your tomcat ....
    import java.sql.Connection;
    import java.sql.DriverManager;
    import java.sql.ResultSet;
    import java.sql.SQLException;
    import java.sql.Statement;
    public class MySQLConnectionTest {
         public static void main(String[] args) {
    new MySQLConnectionTest().connTest();
    public void connTest() {
              String tableName = "portfolio"; //change as per setting
              String hostName = "10.81.9.39"; // please change for the target database ip or hostname
              String dbPort = "3306"; //change if not using the default
              String dbName = "tradingsystem"; //change as per the given DB name
              String username = "root"; //change as per setting
              String password = "password"; //change as per setting
              System.out.println("before try");
              Double data=0.0;
         Double data1=0.0;
              try {
    Class.forName("org.gjt.mm.mysql.Driver");
                   System.out.println("before driver manager");
    Connection conn = DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:mysql://"+hostName+":"+dbPort+"/"+dbName, username, password);
    String query1 = "select * from "+tableName+" where User_id='trader1' and Stock_Type='Equity'";
    System.out.println("quesry1="+query1);
    Statement stmt = conn.createStatement();
    ResultSet rs1 = stmt.executeQuery(query1);
    while(rs1.next())
         System.out.println("hiiiiii for rs1");
         System.out.println(rs1);
         Quantity=(Integer)rs1.getObject(5);
         MarketPrice=(Double) rs1.getObject(8);
         data=Quantity*MarketPrice;
         data1+=data;
         System.out.println("data1="+data1);
         i=0;
    rs1.close();
    stmt.close();
    conn.close();
    } catch (ClassNotFoundException e) {
    e.printStackTrace(System.err);
