Installation of adobe air is not completing on windows 7
I am trying to install adobe air version 15 on my Toshiba laptop with Windows 7. When installation starts the Adobe AIR Setup screen freezes and installation does not complete. I cancelled the install, but the Adobe AIR Setup screen persists and just says "Cancelling". Trying to upgrade AIR as have been having issues with Windows 7 after installing th 2014 Jaqui Lawson Advent calendar. (Windows will not shut down using Shutdown button, and Ctrl-Alt-Del does not bring up task manager anymore). Here is my Adobe Air Install Log:

I understand the frustration, believe me, I really do. Unfortunately, while we do thoroughly test installers we do run into system specific issues from time to time. I do my best to help users, going out of my way to do desktop sharing sessions (at all times of the day and night to accomidate our global user base), creating repair scripts, etc. But you are correct, sometimes it does get technical and we do require the installer log to figure out what might be failing. I apologize if I wasn't able to solve your problem in the past, if you can point me to a post where I didn't follow through I'd be happy to re-read it and see if we can make progress.
I promise I won't remove your post, I just ask that you keep the responses polite and try not to get personal.

Installer for Adobe AIR does not respond when double-clicked?
I tried to install Adobe AIR on my laptop (WinXP Professional, SP3), but the link at http://get.adobe.com/air/ didn't work - website said 'downloading' and to click OK when prompted, but I never got prompted.
So I found an alternate site, downloaded the installer and double clicked to run it. Nothing happened. So I tried a couple more times before checking my Task Manager.
Under 'Processes', there were several instances of the Adobe Air Installer.exe running, but nothing was happening that I could see!
I'm not sure if it's a conflict with any other software or insufficient system requirements, but I'm pretty sure I'm not doing anything wrongly, cos I managed to successfully install Adobe AIR on another laptop I have, also running WinXP, and got Tweetdeck to work on it.
Would appreciate any help on this matter from the more enlightened.

Adobe AIR will not install on Windows 7 sp1
I have had AIR running under Vista 64 bit with no problems. I upgraded to Windows 7 Ultimate sp1. Ever since then I have received an error message. I have tried many different things mentioned on the forum. I even tried installing as Administrator. I need some help if anyone has had a similar problem and resolved the issue. Thanks Glen

I understand the frustration, believe me, I really do. Unfortunately, while we do thoroughly test installers we do run into system specific issues from time to time. I do my best to help users, going out of my way to do desktop sharing sessions (at all times of the day and night to accomidate our global user base), creating repair scripts, etc. But you are correct, sometimes it does get technical and we do require the installer log to figure out what might be failing. I apologize if I wasn't able to solve your problem in the past, if you can point me to a post where I didn't follow through I'd be happy to re-read it and see if we can make progress.
I promise I won't remove your post, I just ask that you keep the responses polite and try not to get personal.

Adobe AIR is not accessible in Windows 7
I have updated my OS to Windows 7 and now none of my Flex apps are accessible to screen readers.
I have tested with Windows Narrator and JAWS 11.
I have also tested the QothTheTwitter application, which is used in an Adobe Document advising developers on how to achieve accessibility in their Flex application. This isn't accessible by the screen readers either.

Does Adobe AIR 2.0 have screen reader accessibility in Windows 7? They were all working in Win XP.
I really need to know because I'm in the middle of a MASSIVE distance learning course for a major University and it requires full accessibility. If there is no accessibility in Win 7, I am screwed. I've spent weeks on this and it may kill my project and the loss to my employer may cost me my job.
Adobe staff... can you please advise me on whether accessibility for screen readers is functional in Adobe AIR 2.0 on Windows 7. At least reply!
Are there any working examples available, so I can see it proven?
I really need a reply and perhaps some real input and help from Adobe about this - it's important that Adobe supports developers attempting to make their applications accessible to disabled users.

Just tested with NVDA and I'm getting some result with it. But nothing from Windows Narrator (was fine in XP) and nothing from JAWS 11 either (also worked in Win XP) so I'm a bit worried.Thanks for the reply.

It's good to know there are no known differences betwen the two OSs. I can confirm that Windows Narrator was able to speak button component labels and text component content in Windows XP but does not do so in Windows 7. I know these are not in your list of supported screen readers but I thought it's worth mentioning anyway.

After discovering that NVDA worked and reading your reply that there are no known differences between the OSs, I decided to re-install JAWS to see if was a problem with the reader software. JAWS doesn't appear to like Windows 7 very much, with some errors during install this time around! Despite this, it now appears to be reading content successfully in my newly published application. YAY!!! *very relieved* So now I can confirm that I have screen reader functionality in JAWS and NVDA.
Therefore, apologies for the previous panicky posts and thanks very much for your quick reply. I'm finding accessibility a difficult thing to achieve and test, so your support is appreciated.
(As an aside, neither of the installed screenreaders appear to be reading the QuothTheTwitter demo application I installed, but perhaps that is because it was built with a beta version of Flex and/or AIR ?)

If I try to start a new setup I receive the following message:

I'm sorry you're having problems installing/uninstalling air. Have you tried rebooting to see if that resolves the issue?
If it still fails, can you enable MSI logging using the instructions found on the following page and then post the msi log contents for review?

Adobe Air will not update or install in Win 7 64 bit
Adobe Air will not install. It gives me the message that it may not be approved by my administrator (me).
I have tried it several times, and elevated it to an administrator with the same message. Under users\local\ appdata\adobe, I have renamed the directories to force it to rewrite to no avail. After doing that, here is my install file

Adobe AIR is not installing on my LSC
I installed the correct version of Adobe AIR base on this link http://get.adobe.com/air/ vesrion 15. This version should fix the problem but I still get the same problem.
The installation of Adobe AIR has failed. Now exiting the setup.

Adobe Air will not install. Prior to attempted reinstall, it would not update.
Adobe Air will not install / reinstall. Prior to attempt to reinstall, it would not update. The automatic "update now" button was greyed out, but the "update later" button was active.
Here is what my system administrator wrote:
1. Right-Click on the installer, clicked 'Show Package
Contents' and attempted to install from the MasOS folder. This
provided an interesting error in the terminal window, however still
did not install.
2. From there, I opened 'Console' (found in Applications
--> Utilities) and dug through the install error logs. Pinned
the issue down to AIR trying to update / use files that were
already in use.
3. Restarted the computer under the primary admin account

Adobe Aire will not install? I am new to this site and I have never seen one more difficult to navigate ! Every time I click I get asked to subscribe to something else it seems. What a bunch of hucksters !!

Bin32-adobe-air + tweetdeck not working
Hello all!
I've just installed Arch Linux 64bit version and I'm finding it hard to install tweetdeck.
I've installed bin32-adobe-air and tweetdeck through yaourt. No errors on that (except some "file not found" errors on Archlinux.org FTP server I could fix looking for the ultimate filename), but I can't make tweetdeck to work. I'm running KDE 4.2 and whenever I try to hit the Tweetdeck icon I get no response.

Adobe Indesign could not complete the conversion
Hi!
I updated from CS6 to CC this fall, and today I'm trying to open several documents created in CS6 but with no luck Get this error meassage: "Adobe indesign could not complete the conversion because the data in the file did not match what was expected"
Do I have to install CS6 again to manage to open the file? Or what do I do? Hopefully the file isn't completely destroyed....
Hoping to get some helpPeter Kahrel has a batch conversion script at Free script Batch convert/export InDesign documents | Peter Kahrel that you can run to do the export on entire folders of documents at once. Run it in the old version.
But in my opinion, since you can have CS6 installed at the same time, there's really no reason to convert most of your files unless they are projects that are ongoing and get edited time after time, and even then probably not. Re-use of docs by doing a Save As to a new version for things like magazines is likely to eventually lead to document failure due to creeping minor corruption that at some point accumulates to the point of not being minor. We see a lot of reports of recycled files that suddenly don't work after 30 or 40 (or some other number) of generations. There is no excuse for not making templates for this sort of job and using the template to start each iteration. -
It appears that Adobe Air does not support persistent HTTP connections?
As far as we can tell, Adobe Air does not support persistent HTTP connections via KEEPALIVE
Thus a new connection has to be established to the server, making certain types of network intensive applications slow.
Can anyone confirm if this is correct - is there any way to get Adobe Air to support KEEPALIVE and maintain persistent server connections?

Fails with codec not installed error
Hello all of a sudden Compressor fails to produce ProRes 422 encodes with the error (in the log) "*Processing service request error: Codec not installed*". It is installed as I can use and have used ProRes elsewhere. Running Compressor 3.0.5.
