Installing specific version of a software
Hello,
I need to install the "Ganymede" version of Eclipse and by that I have a few questions:
1) Is that doable ? (the current version is "Galileo")
2) and if so how ?
3) When I update with Pacman -Syu how can I tell the manager to not upgrade certain applications so I can retain the versions I need ?

How can I install CS6 versions of Adobe Software Using the Adobe Desktop App?
I have a licence for CS6 Software NOT the new CC software. The only options i can see available in the CC app is for the new CC versions of the software. I tried clicking on the previous versions option as suggested by the troubleshooter, but none of the software I want to install is available in the list.
Bcom if you own CS6 you will want to use the traditional method of installing from the installation files and entering your serial number. If you are looking for a fresh copy of the installation files they can be downloaded at Download CS6 products.

Unable to install new version of Nokia Software Up...
I opened NUS today and was told there is a new version available. I accepted downloading it, however the installer at one point gave the message "Error 1714. The older version of Nokia Software Updater cannot be removed. Contact your technical support group.".
What I tried to get around the problem (with no results):
- I followed this procedure; after I ran the MSI file, I ended up with a very similar error message about an older version not being able to be uninstalled
- used Nokia PC Suite Cleaner, and manually deleted the files that were unable to be deleted by the program
- cleared the temp folders
- restarted my computer
Can anyone suggest what else I can try to make the NSU installer work?If you have installed Microsoft Installer v4.5 (WindowsXP-KB942288-v3-x86.exe) then uninstall it. Use good uninstaller to uninstall that HotFix because Windows inbuilt Add/Remove programs does not show this HotFix as installed program. Try this and tell me the result.

I am trying to install a registered copy of Photoshop Lightroom that I never installed on my Apple iMac with software version 10.10.
I get the message “Adobe Lightroom 1. Cannot be installed on this disk because a newer version of this software already exists on this disk”
If it is here – I cannot find it anywhere, and I don’t believe that I ever installed it.
I have ordered the upgrade to Lightroom 5.0 and figured that I should install Lightroom 1.0 first.
How can I solve this problemActually when LR 5 starts for the first time after it is installed it will have a dialog to Buy, Try or Enter a serial number. You select Enter a serial number and enter the LR 5 serial number first and then because it is an upgrade serial number it will ask for the serial number of a Previous version. You then enter the LR 1 serial number.

Please help with this problem. When trying to install itunes on my HP520 PC, I get the error message (unable to remove the older version of Bonjour as well as the message unable to remove the older version of Apple software update).
(1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):

(2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get aCode 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
(3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
(4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any Apple Software Updateentries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
Next, select any Bonjour entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
(5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install using an iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe) downloaded from the Apple Website:

How do I reinstall an older version of the software on my IPod touch? Installed the latest update and now it no longer works in my car.
I'm sorry, but Apple does not provide a downgrade path for iOS. Because downgrading is unsupported by Apple we cannot discuss it on these forums.

Took delivery of imac yesterday with pre-installed Pages, Numbers and Keynote. App store says they need updating but won't let me because I've never owned the major version of the software. I have paid like anyone else, so why can't I update?
You must be signed into the Apple Store with your Apple ID or it won't work.

Empty the Trash, try the App Store. -
Keep getting error message "FCE" can't install on this disk. A newer version of this software already exists on this disk. Have remove all FCE elements with no success.

How do I install a specific version of nvidia?
I am noob coming from Gentoo. How do I install a specific version of nvidia? The new one (169.09-2) does not work well with my video playback (choppy). I know that for whatever reason, the 169.04 beta version works on my hardware better than any other version. How do I install it the pacman way, instead of using Nvidia's installer?

I installed iWork11 but the '09 versions of the software are still running--and the default. What do I need to do to get the '11 versions working?
It's very simple. If you want to use iPhoto, just let it manage things as it does. Other than that: Export from iPhoto and delete the image from iPhoto. That will remove the master and all versions.
If space is an issue... use an external disk.
Don't change anything in the iPhoto Library Folder via the Finder or any other application. iPhoto depends on the structure as well as the contents of this folder. Moving things, renaming things, deleting them or otherwise making changes will prevent iPhoto from working and could even cause you to damage or lose your photos.

How can i restore my ipad to factory settings?
Getting error message 4005 so re-installed latest version of itunes, restarted computer, everythingis up to date. Still getting error 4005. This happened when I went to update software. Face of ipad showing a cable not connecting to itunesUsually a USB error. Read here:

Microsoft update invited me to update to 14.1.4 today but the process fails with the following error:
"Office 2011 14.1.4 Update can't be installed on this disk. A version of the software required to install this update was not found on this volume."

What I do ?
1-I Click Verify Volume its get error msg " Disk Utility stopped verifying MAcintosh HD"
2- Volume bitmap needs minor repair for orphaned blocks????!!!
3-Invalid volume free blocks count !!!
4-The Volume MAC HD was found corrupt and need to be repaird!! How to repair???
5-Error: This Disk need to be repaired us...es window appears, Choose Disk Utility.
Please I need Full Support for above problem
