Integrating BI based on the BI SAP QUERY CONNECTOR

Hi,
I'am new to BI,i want to use BI in VC,for this i need to integrate BI based on BI SAP QUERY CONNECTOR.
Anybody please provide me a clear  documentation on this integration.
With Regards,
Praveen

Hi experts,
I am trying to change workbook settings to display repeated key values.
When doing so, I get a SQL Error and the result is 'No applicable data.'
However, my when my co - worker tries to change the same setting in the same workbook, the setting gets changed.
I have no clue what's going on.
Any ideas?

    Test Connection with Connector
    Test Details:
    The test consists of the following steps:
    1. Retrieve the default alias of the system
    2. Check the connection to the backend application using the connector defined in this system object
    Results
    Retrieval of default alias successful
    Connection failed. Make sure user mapping is set correctly and all connection properties are correct.
    Would really appreciated your help on this.

    hi Aamod;
    it seems like you already have your BI SAP Query system working properly, if you can use it in the BI Integration Wizard. what's the problem you're seeing in VC?
    systems created with the BI SAP Query Connector are relational systems and therefore expose tables and fields in VC. via the BI Connector, these systems are 'lent' BI functionality and you can use these tables in the BI Integration Wizard, as you've seen. you might therefore call these "relational BI systems" (just like systems created with the BI JDBC Connector are).
    if you have consulted the System Landscape documentation on configuring properties for a BI SAP Query System (<a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/4b/9afe3323d14005a283dee9101c66fc/frameset.htm">here</a>) and you're still having problems connecting with the BI SAP Query Connector, i'd suggest you write up a CSS message.
    hope it helps;

  • BI SDK - BI SAP Query Connector

    Hi together,
    when I use the BI SAP Query Connector, I have a problem
    in getting any further as establishing the connection.
    When I list all tables (IBIRelational::getTable()) I get some "strange" names. I do not understand where these objects come from, since I cannot find them in the DDIC. I have expected either tables, or SAP Queries in that list.
    Is there an example about the BI SAP Query connector? The examples of the BI SDK only explain MDX/JDBC in detail, these are working fine.
    Maybe somebody has worked with the SAP Query Connector and can help me.
    Thanks a lot
    KB

    Thanks for the hint, though I do not completely get what you mean. I guess I have missed something here, since I do not have an example for this (MDX / JDBC I found with the SDK).
    Below is how I open the connection, which is working (I get the tables). But I have no idea how I can can select something on this (as said, missing an example).
    From what I have read I should be able to invoke a SAP Query and retrieve results. Any hint is appreciated.

    cs = Utilities.getConnectionSpec(connProp, cf);
    connection = (IBIConnection) cf.getConnectionEx(cs);
    IBIRelational rel = connection.getRelational();

    how to find the program name of the created sap query ?

    Hi avinash,
    Try in this way..
    Go to SE16 and then go to table TSTC.
    in that give program name as <b>*followed by your query name</b>
    (for example *TESTQUERY)
    and run , that will give progname======queryname.
    this way you can find program name.

  • BI SAP Query Connector Heatmap Error - Empty display in Visual composer

    Hi,
    I am trying to create an Heatmap iview in SAP Visual Composer using BI SAP Query Connector.
    While using the Heatmap template, we are able to see the data but finally when we deploy  and run the iview we see empty screen.
    Any inputs is highly appreciated.
    Regards,
    Sreeram

    Hi,
    thanks for your time and help. Its a relevant blog but unfortunately doesnot solve my problem.
    I am using BI SAP Query Connector system instead of BI JDBC. While creating the Heatmap I am able to select the fields and see the output in table format, but finally the chart is not appearing. its blank.
    IGS is configured correctly, able to reach backend to select tables, select fields. After deployment and when the ivew is run I dont even see any heatmap, but a blank container.
    Please suggest if you have any clues regarding this.
    Regards,

  • Downloading the Queries(SAP QUERY) via Background to Excel sheet

    Hi Abapers,
           Is it possible to download the Queries into an Excel Format via Background onto the Application Server / Presentation Server in the Excel format.
       If Possible, Please provide me the solution.
    Thanks in Advance.

    It is not possible to download Query results to Excel in background. (Where would you put the file name, for starters?) But you might be able to get output in a spool, which can then be saved in a plain text file and then uploaded to Excel.

  • Webi report data & the corresponding BW Query data do not tally.

    Hi all,
             I am running a Webi report (XI 3.1)  over a universe that is built on an SAP BW Query. The data in the report is regarding sales, and the grand total of the 'Sales Amount' as per the BW Query is about 1Million, which is correct. However, when I run a Webi report based on the same BW query, taking ALL the objects from the query (without any conditions and filters), the 'Sales Amount' figure comes out to be only 50K instead of 1Mn(as above). I'm not sure why this figure is so drastically reduced in the Webi report.
            When I remove some objects from the query,  Webi displays the correct figure of 1Mn. But these are the objects that are very much required in the report for multidimensional analysis. Dropping these objects would defeat the purpose of the report. The BW query too includes these objects during its execution and then displays the correct sales figure of 1Mn.
           Any help will be greatly appreciated.
    Regards,
    Alok.

    Hi,
         Yes, I was getting partial results. I got rid of it by unchecking the the options in the 'SQL' tab in the Universe parameters.
         Thanks for the help.
    Regards,
    Alok.

  • SAP Query, user groups, revoking 'change' rights

    Hi,
    I have a problem regarding SAP Queries and revoking the change rights. This is what I have done:
    1. Created the new user group in SQ03
    2. Created the new InfoSet (SQ02), assigned it to the above UG (SQ03)
    3. Created the new user, assigned it to the UG in SQ03 and removed the Change checkbox (revoke change rights)
    4. Logged on as the new user
    5. Started SQ01, switched user group to the new one
    6. Created the new SAP query based on the new InfoSet, run the query
    As I understand the principles of user groups and queries, I wasn't supposed to be allowed to do the step 6 as the new user, as it was revoked the change rights. Why wasn't I stopped?
    I searched for reply in previous posts - everybody agrees on principles, but I didn't find explanation on why it doesn't work.
    Thanks in advance!
    KR,
    Igor

    The table AQGDBBN seems to display a mapping of User Group with use rindeed but the results are less than the actual assignment. And the mapping does not have the Z query usergroups that have users assigned in SQ03.
    Anything that I may be missing?
    Thanks,
    Kashif

  • Can we Set the Default SAP Component while Creating Support Message

    Hi Friends,
        I Have got requirement like, when we create the support desk message from any application system by default the sap component should get selected which we have determined in Solman.Our Business secnario is too complex user give create the support message without giving the Sap Component or they give wrong sap Component, so we want to set the sap component get selected by default while creating the support desk message, guide me in solving this issue.
      Regards
        Charan

    I think your logic is reversed.  I think it's better to let users create messages from the application areas from which they are having the problem.  Based on the standard SAP component which defaults into the component field, the ticket can be routed to one of your 20 teams.  This is where the agent detemination rule for support team can be configured.  There are a number of message on the forum regarding support team configuration.  This way, if your 20 teams can't solve the problem (for example SAP defect) then the message can be forwarded directly to SAP using the correct component.  Good luck.

  • At line-selection in SAP Query ( Infoset ) code

    Hi all ,
    Here is one for you :  can I put somehow the following code in a Sap Query ( at infoset level of course ) :
       at line-selection.
      set parameter id 'BUK' field XXX-bukrs.
      set parameter id 'BLN' field XXX-belnr.
      set parameter id 'GJR' field XXX-gjahr.
      call transaction 'FB03' and skip first screen.
    (In other words I would like to see the documents behind a line in the list)
    Some explains : my query's output would be ABAP list , the bukrs, belnr, gjahr fields are on the lines of my resulting list, and my problem is with those XXX 's - I don't know where are stored the lines of my ABAP list.
    I'm pretty new at ABAP so any idea and explains about the generated SAP Query code
    is appreciated . I looked at the final code but seemed very complex for my level.
    Please guide me in this area ( I know the basic things like writing pretty simple reports )
    Thanks !
    Best of all

    Hi,
    You need to add extra piece of code as below:
    call function 'REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY'

                i_callback_top_of_page   = 'TOP-OF-PAGE'

           tables
                t_outtab                = it_ekko
           exceptions
                program_error           = 1
                others                  = 2.
    *       FORM USER_COMMAND                                          *

    FORM user_command USING r_ucomm LIKE sy-ucomm
                      rs_selfield TYPE slis_selfield.
    * Check function code
      CASE r_ucomm.
        WHEN '&IC1'.
    *   Check field clicked on within ALVgrid report
        IF rs_selfield-fieldname = 'EBELN'.
    *     Read data table, using index of row user clicked on
          READ TABLE it_ekko INTO wa_ekko INDEX rs_selfield-tabindex.
    *     Set parameter ID for transaction screen field
          SET PARAMETER ID 'BES' FIELD wa_ekko-ebeln.
