Integrating Oracle BPM UI with Oracle BI Publisher as reporting tool.

          We are using WebCenter Content 11.1.1.6.0 (Ps5) version with Oracle BPM for the workflows.
Is it possible to integrate Oracle BI Publisher to print reports from Oracle BPM User Interface (UI) ?    Basically user should be able to generate a *.pdf file with approved data after the final approval.
What are the Tables that stores Oracle BPM field Values?
Thanks ..

Hi,
Let me share the basic steps. You can always dump the view data into an XML file by using writeXML method.
e.g.
You need to place BIP jars into BPM domain_home/lib dir.
MASTER_QUERY="select * from employees where employee_id=:0";
ViewObject master = createViewObjectFromQueryStmt(null, MASTER_QUERY);
master.setWhereClauseParam(0, employee_id);
Row firstRow = master.first();
Node data = master.writeXML(-1, XMLInterface.XML_OPT_ALL_ROWS);
then you can call the following method to generate pdf based on your template.
  resource = "C:\\app\\stage\\templates\\YourBIPTemplate.rtf";
    private File generatePDF(Node data, String resource) {
        File ApplicationDataFile = null;
        File tmpTemplateFile = null;
        File pdf = null;
        OutputStream output = null;
        InputStream is =
            Thread.currentThread().getContextClassLoader().getResourceAsStream(resource);
        try {
            Date date = Calendar.getInstance().getTime();
            SimpleDateFormat sdf = new SimpleDateFormat("MMddHHmm");
            int uid =
                (new oracle.jbo.server.SequenceImpl("DDOCNAME_SEQ", this.getDBTransaction())).getSequenceNumber().intValue();
            pdf =
new File(tmpDir + File.separator  + docType + uid + ".pdf");
            pdf.createNewFile();
            output = new FileOutputStream(pdf);
            output = new BufferedOutputStream(output);
            ApplicationDataFile =
                    new File("C:\\Temp\\ApplicationData"  +
                             ".xml");
            try {
                Writer sWriter =
                    new BufferedWriter(new OutputStreamWriter(new FileOutputStream(ApplicationDataFile),
                                                              "UTF-8"));
                ((XMLNode)data).print(sWriter);
            } catch (Exception e) {
                e.printStackTrace();
            byte[] sXML = null;
            StringBuffer buffer = new StringBuffer();
            FileInputStream fis = new FileInputStream(ApplicationDataFile);
            InputStreamReader isr = new InputStreamReader(fis, "UTF8");
            Reader in = new BufferedReader(isr);
            int ch;
            while ((ch = in.read()) > -1) {
                buffer.append((char)ch);
            in.close();
            sXML = buffer.toString().getBytes("UTF-8");
            InputStream rtfInputStream = new FileInputStream(resource);
            RTFProcessor rtfProcessor = new RTFProcessor(rtfInputStream);
            tmpTemplateFile =
                    File.createTempFile("ApplicationTemplate", ".tmp");
            rtfProcessor.setOutput(tmpTemplateFile.getAbsolutePath());
            System.out.println("Temp file is created: " +
                               tmpTemplateFile.getAbsolutePath().toString());
            rtfProcessor.process();
            FOProcessor processor = new FOProcessor();
            processor.setData(new java.io.ByteArrayInputStream(sXML));
            processor.setTemplate(tmpTemplateFile.getAbsolutePath());
            processor.setOutput(output);
            processor.setOutputFormat(FOProcessor.FORMAT_PDF);
            processor.generate();
        } catch (Exception e) {
            e.printStackTrace();
        } finally {
            System.out.println("Finished generating application PDF");
        return pdf;

    I want to know whether the integration of domino.doc with oracle 9i as portal
    is possible or not.
    Can anyone guide me whether the integration is
    possible or not and if it is possible which document
    should i refer for the same.
    and i dont know much about domino.doc
    pls consider this as urgent

    1)Portal is an integrated component of 9iAS. You need to download all of 9iAS and select the minimal install option.
    2)We haven't tested this configuration, but as long as you set up apache appropriately to use different ports than the existing software it should work.
    3)Portal requires 8.1.6.2 Enterprise edition or 8.1.7 Standard edition. Personal Edition will not work.

  • Regarding Integration of Oracle Service Bus with Oracle Server 10g

    Hi,
    Could you please provide some docs or links so as to integrate Oracle Database with Oracle Service Bus. The requirement is that the data will be retrieved or saved or updated in the database after recieving inputs from the user. We are using OSB as middle wayer component between ORacle BPM Studio and ORacle Sever 10g. Please provide some help for the same. The data should move to the Oracle Database through ORacle Service Bus.
    Thanks,
    Abhishek

    You need to first create an external resource for ALSB configuration. You can then use the configuration to connect to ALSB and create the structure for transferring the data.
    You then have to configure a DB transport for updating the process data using ALSB.
    Hope this helps.

  • Integrating Oracle Virtual Directory with Oracle Internet Directory

    Hi Experts,
    Just wanted to know suggestions from you.... what are the advantages we have by integrating Oracle Virtual Directory with Oracle Internet Directory.
    Thanks
    parker.

    Hi Ken/Experts ,
    Thanks for your response.
    Still we need some more clarification on My Requirement that is, we are using ‘Oracle Single Sign On’ for my product and OID (Oracle Internet Directory) is enabled for this Single Sign On. Now we are planning to use OViD (Oracle Virtual Directory) for our Product so we integrated OID with OViD and now we are able to view the OID users in OViD. But Still My Product is using Single Sign On, which is enabled with OID only. Do we need to enable OViD (Oracle Virtual Directory) for Single Sign On? If yes please help us how to integrate (enable) OViD with Single Sign On.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Does Oracle OLAP comes with Oracle Database 10g ?

    1.Does Oracle OLAP comes with Oracle Database 10g or do we need seperate software to have this ?.
    2.If I create a Cube with Analytic work space manager the cube is going to be stored in the Database ( meaning the in the table space where OLAP is Stored).
    3. What is the difference between Analtyic work space manager and discoverer For Olap.
    Help is higly appreciated ..
    Thanks, Prasad

    One thing to point out : The OLAP option is a costed database option, so while this is automatically installed and part of your database you do have to purchase additional licenses to use this feature. You will need to check with your Oracle account manager to see if you are actually licensed to use this feature.
    If you have existing 9i OLAP cubes these can be quickly and easily migrated to 10g OLAP and the documentation explains how to do this. However, there are many new features that are part of 10g OLAP that will improve the performance of your data model that will not be enabled as part of a migration process. Based on my experiences it would be quicker and easier (depending on the size of your existing 9i OLAP cubes) to consider rebuilding your data model using these new 10g features. You should be able to export all the dimensions to XML templates from 9i OLAP and import the templates into the 10g schema and reload your dimensions.
    For the cubes you will probably want to consider using partitioning, composites and compression to provide maximum flexibility and performance for your new data model. There is more information on these features within the OLAP documentation and in the many whitepapers and presentations on the OLAP home page on OTN.
    For moving data from SQL Server to 10g OLAP much depends on the nature of the data transfer. If it is a one-off bulk data load then you could consider using the normal MS command line tools to dump the data out and transfer it to Oracle. Alternatively, you could consider using Oracle Data Integrator to manage the extraction of the SQL Server data and the data load process into Oracle 10g relational tables. If you decide to use Data Integrator this will require additional licenses.
    If you can extract the data from SQL Server to flat files you can use Oracle Warehouse Builder (basic ETL is free as part of the 10g database license) to load that flat file data via external tables. Warehouse Builder can also be used to define your OLAP data model (think of Warehouse Builder as a more powerful version of Analytic Workspace Manager) and provides tools to load the data directly into your OLAP dimensions and cubes. You can get more information on managing OLAP data models with Warehouse Builder the Warehouse Builder home page on OTN.
    There are no facilities to modify Discoverer Viewer to add customisations. You can add company logos, modify certain colors and/or hide certain features but it is not possible to add additional features. You may want to consider using BI Beans to provide this type of environment. BI Beans is the development framework used to create Discoverer Viewer. You can create customised JSP pages that look identical to Discoverer Viewer pages with the added benefit of providing your own specific features. You can get more information on the BI Beans home page on OTN.

  • Oracle Designer 10g With Oracle 11g DB possible

    Hi,
    Please clarify my below query,
    we are currently using oracle designer 10g and deploying the components to production DB which is in oracle 9i, We are planning to migrate to oracle supported version 11g DB, since oracle designer 11g is not there we would be sticking to oracle 10g itself, Now my question is, will we be having issues or road blocks with this combination Oracle designer 10g and Oracle 11g DB???
    Regards
    Bala

    @Erik
    Don't have a doc id. You have to go to the certication tab in My Oracle Support. Search for Oracle Designer 10.1.2.6.0 there you will find the three supported database version.
    Oracle Designer 10.1.2.6.0 is certified with Oracle Database 11.2.0.1.0 on Microsoft Windows (32-bit) XP
    Oracle Designer 10.1.2.6.0 with Oracle Database 11.2.0.1.0

    Oracle Fusion Middleware 10g 10.1.2.0.2 Oracle Developer Suites 10g 10.1.2.0.2 Oracle AS/DS Patch Set 10g 10.1.2.3.0
    @Bala
    Colleagues of mine have imported a designer repository inside 11gR2 and where not able to change objects inside the repository. When they imported the same designer dump inside an 11gR1 database it worked fine.
    In the other post (Re: 11G compatibility it is also written that there are some major bugs and those bugs will not be fixed.

  • Oracle 11g compatibility with oracle 10g and 9i?

    Hi All
    I have some queries on 11g compatibility.
    Is oracle 11g client compatible with oracle 10g client which is already installed on desktop?
    If yes any changes to be done and where?
    Is oracle 11g compatible with oracle 10g/9i on the same server where 10g/9i are installed?
    Regards

    Thanks Justin Thats right ...
    Problem elaboration is as follows
    We currently have an application which requires oracle 10g(10.2.0.3) client to connect to database from user desktops. As
    part of new application development the oracle 11g clients need to be installed on all the user deskotps.
    The complete application software along with oracle client 11g has to be roled out on these desktop as part of
    implementaion of new application besides the existing application(The application software is packaged along with oracle
    10g client).
    We would like to understand if there is any software provided by oracle using which we can switch between different oracle
    versions while accessing the respective applications simultaneously. Also are there any known bugs/issues in running
    oracle 10g client and oracle 11g client together on the same user desktops with different oracle homes?

  • Diff Between Oracle BPM Studio and Oracle BPEL Process Manager

    1)What is the difference between Oracle BPM Studio and Oracle BPEL Process Manager?
    2)What is the connection between Oracle BPM Studio and Oracle BPEL Process Manager?

    Hi,
    As of today you should install SOA Suite 11g
    Fr this you will need to install Database (for development you can use XE)
    Run RCU utility to crete DB schemas for SOA Suite.
    Install Weblogic server
    Install SOA Suite as an option to Weblogic
    Create SOA Domain.
    It is physically possible to do it in 2GB but is far better on 3 - 4GB
    You can consider installing DB on different machine.

  • Advantages and Disadvantages of Using Oracle 7 Client with Oracle 9 Server

    Hello,
    I was wondering what are the advanatges of using Oracle 7 client with Oracle 9 Server versus using Oracle 9 Client with Oracle 9 server.

    Some years ago I used 7.3 Client with 9i DB, and I don't remember of particular problems, but I'm speaking of Sql*Plus only. Are there specific problems ?
    Of course the best thing is to install one 9i Client (did you already do it ?) : if there are same problems, then that's not compatibility issue.
    And what are advantages of using 9 Client with 9 server other than 7 is no longer supported.You're sure you won't have compatibility problems.

    not a problem with BEA , just means your database has been configured to close your session after a period of inactivity(which is normal).
    Check you connection pool testing settings and tune accordingly.

  • Does ORACLE functions work with Oracle Database 10G

    Hi,
    I am wondering if ORACLE functions work with Oracle Database 10G or is it mandatory to use OCI functions?

    I was able to run a simple query with ora_* functions using 10g on Windows.
    The Oracle OCI calls used by PHP's ora extension still exist in the Oracle 10g libraries
    But I cannot recommend this obsolete extension.
