Integrating Web Dynpro to ep6 sp12

I have created the simple Web Dynpro example program from the How to Guide -- Use Portal Eventing.  However, I am having trouble integrating the Web Dynpro Application with the portal.  I am using the How to guide -- Integrate a Web Dynpro Application into SAP Enterprise Portal 6.0 SP2 as a reference.  Since the document refers to SP2 some of the screenshots does not match.  Is there a more current documentation out there?
Thanks,
Jin Bae

Hi Jin
I am not sure about the latest document on integration with portal, But the procedure is same for integrating webdynpro components into portals.
For Integrating webdynpro components into portal
1. Click on Content Management/Portal content.
2. Right click on the required folder and choose iview
3. Select SAP webdynpro iview
4. choose  iview name
5. Choose the system name
6. Give the namespace(if this is a DC then vendor name\project name, if it is a local webdynpro component then it is local\applcaiton name) and the application name
7. Preview the component
Let me know if you require furthur clarifications on this

  • [Integration] Web Dynpro ABAP calling Flex in Popup (without Flash Islands)

    Hi,
    We do not intend to install Enhancement Package 1 in a near future.
    Nevertheless, we do have requirements where Flex should be integrated with Web Dynpro ABAP (Flex components embedded or 'attached' to Web Dynpro ABAP applications).
    I would like to open a popup showing a Flex component. Then, the user validates and the Web DYnpro ABAP application is resumed. All this integrated within EP 7.0.
    What, according to you, would be the most effective combination :
    - Suspend / Resume plug
    - Server-side cookies
    - iFrame (although it is deprecated)
    Given what I have read so far, it seems encapsulating the .swf within a BSP application would be the best shot. Could it be possible to get rid of this 'additional layer' ?
    Thanks in advance.
    Best regards,
    Guillaume

    Web Dynpro ABAP
    Define a suspend and a resume plug.
    BSP
    Retrieve the parameters sent by WDA either by AUTO attributes or the following code
    CONSTANTS: c_resume_name          TYPE string  VALUE `sap-wd-resumeurl`.
    DATA: lt_tihttpnvp                TYPE tihttpnvp.
    FIELD-SYMBOLS: <fs_httpnvp>       LIKE LINE OF lt_tihttpnvp,
                   <fs_dept_magasin>  LIKE LINE OF t_dept_magasins.
    ** Lecture des paramètres envoyés (par le WD ABAP)
    CALL METHOD request->get_form_fields
      CHANGING
        fields = lt_tihttpnvp.
    READ TABLE lt_tihttpnvp ASSIGNING <fs_httpnvp> WITH KEY name = c_resume_name.
    IF sy-subrc = 0.
      e_url = <fs_httpnvp>-value.
    ENDIF.
    Flex
    To return to the Web DYnpro ABAP, call a Javascript function within the BSP using this kind of code :
    jsReturn = ExternalInterface.call("sendBackToSAP", selectedDepartmentsParam, orderParam);
    BSP
    First, to react to the user action in the Flex component, define a Javascript function in the
          function sendBackToSAP(departements, ordre) {
             fireServerEvent(departements, ordre);
             return("Done");
    To fire a server-event (in order for BSP to call the WDA resume plug), I use this declaration :
    <!--  Event used by the Javascript to trigger OnInputProcessing so as to create
                  the server-side cookie -->
           <bsp:htmlbEvent name= "fireServerEvent"
                           id  = "flexAction"
                           p1  = "departements"
                           p2  = "ordre"></bsp:htmlbEvent>
    Last, I simply call the URL that the WDA gives me first :
    navigation->goto_page( e_url ).
    If people are interested in a more detailed presentation, feel free to reply to this post, and I will write a blog about this. Nevertheless, it should become pretty obsolete with the Flash Islands release...

  • Integrating Web Dynpro and Portal

    Hi people!
    I'm starting the development of a simple web site in SAP Enterprise Portal. I created a simple web dynpro application  to test the integration between web dynpro and SAP EP. I created a new folder and a new system in portal content. After I add a new page and a new iView (this iView open my webdynpro iview).
    My Page open normally in SAP Portal Page Admin, now i would like to know how do for include the Portal Theme, Menu, Status Bar into to my page.
    I investigated about wdPortalNavigation and wdPortalNavigationMode, but i don't understand very well how insert the Portal Navigation properties into my Page.
    How do I  insert this properties in my iView Code? or I should set this properties in Portal Admin?
    Somebody have some e-books or tutorials to indicated?
    Thanks in advance!!
    Marcelo

    Hi Marcelo,
    First of all welcome to SDN....
    For you Webdynpro pages to open with new THEME but not with default theme of portal you have to design new theme in portal and assign that  theme to WebDynpro Components
    for creation of THEMS please refer these Documents

  • Problem with integrating Web Dynpro into anonymous Portal

    The problem is that we can't run the Web Dynpro application in combination with an anonymous portal.
    <b>We get the following error:</b>
    Runtime error portaal
    Fout opgetreden bij verwerking opdracht voor :
    iView : pcd:portal_content/com.spe.spe_intranet/content/sites/nullAtSPE2/Connecting/nullAtSPE/AtSPE/Random4

    Exception id: 02:31_29/10/07_0168_426375450
    See the details for the exception ID in the log file
    <b>Detail description of the situation:</b>
    At one of our companies we are using a Portal in combination with a Web Dynpro application. The portal is for internal use only so therefore we are using a language specific anonymous user (/irj/portal/anonymous?guest_user=Guest_intra_NL). The Web Dynpro application needs no authentication either. The Web Dynpro applications runs inside an appintegrator iView somewhere on the frontpage. If we set the authentication schema on 'default' instead of 'anonymous' we have to authenticate (inside the iView only). If we authenticate then the Web Dynpro application works fine. So only in combination with a anonymous user the application is not working.
    <b>We performed all these settings:</b>
    Anonymous user access to Web Dynpro

    Hi Kelly,
    the point here is native SharePoint integration. If your company does not have a SharePoint strategy then I absolutely agree with you. There are plenty of ways on how you can integrate WebDynpros, iViews, and other "SAP views" in SharePoint.
    The "problem" with these integrations is always that it is not a native / low-level integration. It is just an iFrame within SharePoint that contains data coming from another system. This means that this data is isolated from any other functionality that is available in SharePoint.
    Of course this can be enough for some usecases (maybe for all of yours ), but there are lots of companies who do want to leverage all of SharePoints (collaborative) functionalities. In this case Duet Enterprise does offer a way to integrate SAP objects into SharePoint on a "low-level". All objects that are integrated into SharePoint are then available as "real" SharePoint objects. You can work with them like with any other SharePoint object. You can even offline them using standard SharePoint functionalities. You can bring them to Outlook without any major development, ...
    All this because we not only include an isolated iFrame in SharePoint, but really integrate the data.
    Like I said: there are certainly usecases where this is not required and a simple iFrame is all that you need. However, we have seen in several projects now that there is also a requirement / need for a "deeper" integration.
    Regards,
    Holger.

  • Integrating Web Dynpro for ABAP into ABAP Workflow

    We have a requirement to create a User Interface via Web Dynpro for ABAP, and use that information to start off a workflow, transferring the data from the Web Dynpro application into the container of the Workflow.
    Also later in the workflow, we would like an approval step to invoke a Web Dynpro that displayes the data, and an approve/reject button to be pressed that feeds that data back to the Workflow.
    Has anybody done this, or does anybody know how to do this? We do not have the possibilities to use CAF in this project yet.
    Kind Regards,
    Tony.

    Hi,
    This is of course possible. Starting the workflow with Web Dynpro or from classic ABAP dynpro doesn't really differ. Just build your web dynpro as you would build a transaction, and from the submitting/execution phase, you just launch the workflow. Launching the workflow can be done with couple of different techniques (=function modules) and it has been discussed many times here.
    Also the approval part shouldn't cause any problems. Just build an application which takes as a parameter for example the work item ID (or any other relevant parameter that you can imagine, which you can use to retrieve the needed data that you want to display). Then from the web dynpro application you can call for example a function module, which can complete the work item. Or another option is that you will raise an event (again with a function module), which your approval task is waiting for.
    Once again, it isn't really that different from classic dynpro (or any other technique) - the same approaches can be utilized.

    Karri

  • Integrating Web Dynpro ABAP application in portal

    Dear experts,
    I created a Web Dynpro ABAP application. I need to Integrate it in portal and have to capture portal login id to my application.
    Kindly guide me how to integrate WDA in portal and how to capture Portal Logon id in my application.
    Thanks,
    Kind Regards,
    Ram

    Hello ,
    It is asking for SAP system user id and password becasue there is no SSO established between portal and the web dynpro system.
    Now, either you can establish SSO between portal and the backend system by SAP Logon TIcket or  user mapping.
    SSO stands for single sign on.
    SSO using SAP Logon Tickets :-
    by using this technique you will be able to login into the backend by using SAP logon ticket
    issued by the portal system. For this you need to import the .der certificate form the system administration ->system config -->
    key ticket store. there download verify.der and upload it in the trusted system list in the backend in the trasaction strust_import.
    here is link for this method.
    http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/EP/LogonTickets,CertificatesandBackend+Certificates.
    SSO using user mapping. :-
    For this method you need to map the user in the portal to one user in the backend system.
    You can do so by going to user administration in the portal there find the user id with which the user will login.
    then go to the user mapping for system access tab there select the system from the dropdown and give user id and password
    for the same system save it.
    Now when you will login it wont ask for the user id and password.
    And after this you can get the portal user id also in  your web dynpro application.
    Thanks

    Can someone please tell me what are the methods we can use for integrating Web Dynpro and Workflow. I have to create a custom Business Object for this purpose.
    I have found out that we can use the FM 'SAP_WAPI_CREATE_EVENT' to trigger an event from the WD screen code. Please let me know if anyone has used the same and kindly share the experience.
    Many thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Ameya Kulkarni

    Hi
      The very important thing to integrate the WDA with workflow is task registration where you are sending work item to SAP inbox with url once the url is clicked the WDA page will open and where the user will take action. These are few guidlies i would suggest for your scenario:
    1) If there are approval process then go for workflow if only simple mail sending with validation do go for workflow. Everything can be handled in your screen itslef.
    2) If you want to determine the approver based on some validation then go for workflow ex. travel request based on employee group <= condition go for this level of approver else go for this level of approver.
    3) For your scenario fellow this way.
      a) Use FM SAP_WAPI_CREATE_EVENT OR SAP_WAPI_START_WORKFLOW but strictly advise to use event create FM rather than start workflow where you are hardcoding the workflow template no. So avoid it.
    b) After triggering the workflow need to validate the condition use some custom FM or class to do this. Do Not write entier code in your method of BOR which will not be helful if you want to call that method somewhere other then your workflow you cannot call it. So always write the business logic in ZFM and call inside your method which will be robost.
    c) To communicate the values from workflow and WDA use SAP_WAPI_WRITE_CONTAINER AND SAP_WAPI_READ_CONTAINER.
    d) To determine the approver create new FM write the logic for approver. Usually we will create rule but for your case its not adviced you are calling WDA screen. In the task(activity) of the workflow in the express field pass the approver user id in the workflow container element which will send the workitem to the SAP inbox.
    e) Once the workitem received the workitem to inbox once clicked it your WDA screen has to open for that need to do TASK regestration from SWFVISU t-code just check thsi its been long for me
    f) After approving by clicking on approve button the send back the data if comments are there by using the above mentioned FM.
    g) Then finally use send mail step to send mail.
    For task registartion and data exchange from workflow and WDA see the blog for BSP the same requirement is done using the BSP. Check that which will give excat idea.
    Regards
    Vijay

  • Web Dynpro application needs to never expire.

    Hi
    I have a Web Dynpro application (NW2004 SP12) that displays spreadsheet like sales data to anyone who walks past the screen in a common area in the office/s. It should therefore run unattended. It refreshes the data on a timer. The data comes from a back-end aRFC. Everything works fine but about every 1.5 days the application times out (session expires) and needs to be re-opened (this seems to be a large administrative problem to re-login at all the deployment sites).
    It gives an error ‘500…application has expired. Please restart with the refresh button…’
    In testing/troubleshooting I used the direct URL to the application running on WAS and not through a Portal iView.
    I also changed the System destination from using SSO to using a dedicated user to the back-end.
    Does anyone have an idea on how to auto refresh a Web Dynpro application or auto-renew the session so that it can run ‘forever’ or a way to re-login automatically?
    Thanks in advance,
    Rick Viljoen

    Hi Isidro
    Yes, this was my final solution. Here is the code for the htm page. It will refresh/reload every 6 hours. Hope it helps.

  • Abap web dynpro and portal events

    First off, a little introduction: My name is Martin Kroppen, I am an Abap developer for SAP Netherlands, and I am currently involved in a project for hospitals to built a portal. For this, I have created 2 Abap web-dynpros, and then impemented the views as iviews in an EP. What I want to achieve is that the input view triggers the display view on a second page, and the data is shown for the values in the input view (all in the same browser window).
    I am using the portal integration manager for this,  with the method for relative navigation.
    The navigation is working fine, only problem is that I don't know how to handle the business parameters that I send over.
    My questions are:
    1. is this the correct way for navigating between abap webdynpro iviews in the portal?
    2. what is the correct way to read the business parameters into my context of the second Abap WD application?
    I tried the solution that is described below, I could not get it to work correctly.
    If you define BUSINESS_PARAMETERS as application parameters in your Web
    Dynpro application and the parameter names start with &#8243;APP&#8243;, they will
    automatically be forwarded to the startup plugs of the Web Dynpro application –
    provided they are marked as startup parameters. In this case, keep in mind that
    the iView/page used as the navigation target must be assigned to the user role.
    If it is not, navigation cannot be triggered.
    Hope someone can help me…
    Regards
    Martin Kroppen

    hi I am new to Web Dynpro java, From where should i have to start

    Hi,
    Web Dynpro is the SAP programming model for user interfaces (UIs).
    It provides a programming framework within which you can achieve a:
    u2022 Clear separation of business logic and display logic
    u2022 An application specification that is both:
    Client neutral and
    Backend neutral
    It consists of a runtime environment and a graphical development environment with special Web-Dynpro tools that are integrated in the SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio
    The Web Dynpro technology provides a development and runtime environment for Web applications and enhances classical Web development to build easily adaptable user interfaces. SAP's Web Dyn-pro technology closes significant gaps between typical Web development tools and the needs of cost-effective, responsive, easy-to-use, maintainable, and professional browser-based user interfaces for business solutions. Web Dynpro uses design principles similar to SAP's Dynpro technology, but it is a completely new technology geared exclusively towards Web applications. Its main features include the following:
    u2022 Usability
    u2022 Abstract modelling
    u2022 Personalization and customization
    u2022 Separation of presentation layers and business logic
    u2022 Generic services
    u2022 Portability
    Web Dynpro applications run in the SAP Enterprise Portal.

  • Custom Layout for Web Dynpro Proxy page

    Hey all
    I have a requirement to display 4-5 Web Dynpro for ABAP iViews on a page.
    I have the option of using the standard PRT page to display these iViews for which I can create a custom layout using com.sap.portal.layouts.default.par and the simple JSP layout file in it.
    However, they should really be on a Web Dynpro Proxy page but custom layouts created using above component wont work.
    In the document [Integrating Web Dynpro and SAP NetWeaver Portal|https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/index?rid=/library/uuid/0c7b2f25-0c01-0010-f2a2-f8a65a9dcad9] it says -
    Within the SAP NetWeaver 04s release it is not possible to define application specific page layouts for Web Dynpro pages. Within the SAP NetWeaver 07 release this will be possible. Layouts for Web Dynpro page are implemented then as Web Dynpro components implementing a special ILayout Web Dynpro component interface.
    Has this been released as yet?
    Anyone find the APIs or workaround for this?
    Cheers

    I have the same question, but can't find any good solutions for this.
    For standard portal applications you can use com.sap.portal.design.layouts and modify layouts via JSP. But all webdynpro proxy pages are using their own layout.
    I'd like to change that layout too.
    Anyone?
    Cheers,
    Noel
    I am using NW 701

  • Integrating Flex/Flash in Web Dynpro ABAP(Netweaver 7.0) need info!

    Hi all,
            I need to embed a flash or a flex object inside a web dynpro abap application.I am working in Netweaver 7.0 and i don't have enhancement pack 1 installed.Is it possible ?   If it is possible can anyone please provide me the coding and configuration details.
    Thanks,
    Saikat

    I'm afraid that the SAP supplied integration technology - call FlashIslands - is only available from NetWeaver 7.01 and forward.  You could perhaps do some simple integration (very little data transfer) with the iFrame UI element - although the iFrame is deprecated in 7.0 and 7.01, but does return to full support in 7.02.  The other option would be to use the NetWeaver Portal or NetWeaver Business Client and have two iViews within the page. One iView would have WDA and the other some external technology (BSP, JSP, etc) to host the Flash/Flex content.  Not tight integration, but you could potentially use Portal Eventing to at least communicate events.

  • Web dynpro with adobe integration is not working in quality system

    Hi Experts,
       We have developed a web dynpro component with adobe flex integration. In development system everything is ok. Now the object moved to quality. In quality we are not getting the landing page. I checked in debug mode that the control come into SAP and code got executed. Finally the message which is issued from SAP is displaying in the page but the remaining page is blank. What reason might cause for this defect. If any one faced same kind of issue earlier. Respond to my request if you know the answer.
    Cheers,
    Bujji
