Integrating WPC pages in WDJ application

I have created a WPC page. I need to integrate this page into a WDJ application.

Pass parameters from JSP Dyn Page to WDJ Application

I am trying to pass parameters from my JSPDyn Page to WDJ Application.
I am using NWDS 7.1 EHP1
My code is :

This method is being called on click of a button.
hkparam is the parameter in question.
The JSPDyn page is an iView and the WDJ application is a page and both have been assigned to a role.
In the properties of the WDJ Page, I have removed DymanicParameter from "Do not Forward These Parameters To Web Dynpro" property.
However I am getting null as the value of hkparam in my WDJ application.
The code used is :
IWDRequest request = WDProtocolAdapter.getProtocolAdapter().getRequestObject();
       String param1= request.getParameter("hkparam");
What seems to be missing here.
Please help.

Try this code.
EPCM.doNavigate("ROLES:portal_content/Himanshu.Himanshu/TestDynUIApp?hkparam=Dmypass1123")
if the parameter is hkparam and the value to be passed is Dmypass1123. You need not change any design time property of the WD page, and WDProtocolAdapter should retrive the parameter.

Integration a Web Dynpro ABAP application within one of my EP overview page

Hi Experts,
I've got an issue when integrating a Web Dynpro ABAP application within one of my EP overview pages.
We've implemented PLM using the Web Dynpro ABAP scenario for employees. Now Iu2019m trying to integrate this into the Employee Self-Service overview page. I've got no issue to make the icon and area title appears, but when I click on it I get a blank page with Error 404. However when clicking on the link in the navigation bar (Level 2) then I get the page fine. So it looks like EP is not able to integrate correctly the Web Dynpro ABAP into the overview page in EP. Is there any specific Resource configuration?
One more thing is that if I've implemented the same iView using Resources -> Services -> Sub Areas -> Areas everything works fine, but I receive two navigation Levels (Area Group contains the Area Link and when I click it brings me to Sub Area with the single Service Link) I want to avoid this double clicking, calling the application directly from Area Group -> Area link.
Anyone has ever come across that kind of issue? Has anyone ever integrated a WDA application directly into an overview page?

We faced a similar problem with BSPs and had to change the definition of the area link type entry.
I am assuming you have set the area link type to WebDynpro for ABAP and the resource is calling an Iview/page that has the WD ABAP application configured.
To get around the error, change the Area Link type to Calls a Portal page and make sure the resource calls an Iview/Page that has the WD ABAP application configured.

Fusion Applications 11.1.7: Deploy a custom ADF page to Fusion Applications

Hi,
I am trying to create and deploy a custom ADF page in Fusion Applications(in premise) which will allow search, create and update operations on a custom table. I have been going through a pile of documents and this forum but I still have the following questions.
I have a PageA based on the UIShell. This page is linked to the taskflow TaskFlowA which provides the search functionality. TaskFlowA calls TaskFlowB and TaskFlowC which provide the create and edit functionalities.
I have enabled security from Jdeveloper (Application>Secure>Configure ADF Security)
Question#1: Is this step required?
To deploy it I will generate the ADF Library JAR for the Model and ViewController. The ADF Library JAR for the model will be placed into the <ExplodedEarDirectory>/APP-INF/lib directory of an existing application(say HCM). The ADF Library JAR for the UI will be placed in the <ExploadedWarDirectory>/WEB-INF/lib directory.
Question#2: Are any other steps required for deployment.
I will then add permissions for the page by following the steps in How To Configure Security For Custom Pages/Taskflows Added To Fusion Applications(Doc ID 1486524.1). This document lists the steps for configuring authorization policies using APM.
Question#3: While specifying the resource type in APM, I will select RegionResouceType and set the Name to PageA. I understand that I need to provide the full path of PageA in the form xx.xxx.xx. But how do I get the full path?
Finally I will add a new menu entry in the Navigator menu using the setup task “Manage Menu Customizations” by adding a new item.
Question#4: What will be the value of Focus View Id for the new Item? Will it be the Focus View Id that I provided while creating the menu file in JDeveloper?
Question#5: What will be the value of Secured Resource Name? Will it be the same as what I provided in Question#3 above?

SRM's WDJ application is not taking custom theme

Hi All,
I'm working on the Portal branding. We have SRM BP deployed in our portal. I've created custom theme and desktop for the user.
I'm able to see the portal's different section as per custom theme. WDA/WDJ application's UI which is opening in the content area of portal is also showing as per theme.
When I'm trying to access the SRM BP portal content which is the collection WDA/WDJ application, inside portal content area showing as per theme. But one WDJ Iview related to MDM catlog data is opening in new window, in that WDJ UI is not taking custom theme color. UI is showing default theme "tradeshow".
I tried few SAP note(Note 1446099 - Web Dynpro application not displayed in customer theme) to synch the patch of portal and WDJ stylsheet but no luck.
Pl share your input to solve the issue.

When i tried to set the default Web Dynpro theme by modifying the sap.theme.default property, which is also located in the Propertysheet default folder with the below URL, no success:-

WDJ application perfomance

Hi,
I have a problem with custom WDJ application loading.
Issue is, while user click on a button1 in 'DC1', 'DC2' will be called with RFC data.
DC2 tooks more than 1 min to load the application where as If I directly execute DC2, it took 5 to 6 sec to load the application.
After made changes in JCo connection parameters, in DEV application is loading with in 5 seconds but the same changes in Q portal not working.
The only difference I found here is, DEV WAS portal having single server node where as 'Q' having two server nodes. No changes are identical other than this.
No log file updated to check.

and in the status bar you will get

can u paste the URL that ur using and , another one what you can do is instead of calling rfc as the page loads , try to put a button and onclick of that button call the rfc , and see the status bar.

Use URL Parameters in WPC Pages

Hi all,
Is there anyway to pass url parameters when calling a wpc page? We would like to call a wpc page and pass a URL a parameter that would then be accessible to each individual component within the wpc page. Also, how can we read the url parameter in the XSLT for the component webforms? Any help would be appreciated.

That would come within flex.
In my case, there is a SAP CRM web application which has a push button. On click of this button, flex URL is called(ie., http://172.22.41.154/MH_Bluebook_Integration2.html). On click of that button I need to pass an Object ID, which is passed withing that flex URL, something like this:
http://172.22.41.154/MH_Bluebook_Integration2.html?objID=abcd
I need to receive 'abcd' in the flex. Any way we could modify the HTML wrapper to send this value to swf?

Creating WDJ application for touchscreen devices

Hello All,
I need to develop one app with Web dynpro java which will be tested from touchscreen hardware. I checked the normal WDJ application on that machine and its working fine.
But now the requirement is to provide the touchpad (as we see in touchscreen mobiles). And after clicking the input field, keyboard type touch pod opens up at the bottom of the screen and the selected values from the touchpad should be copied to the selected input field in sequence.
Kindly help and suggesst some path to implement this asap.

One option (the more correct), would be to use some application installed on the touchscreen device to carry out this task of 'keyboard'. However, you can put a button beside the input field (containing the image of a keyboard) and clicking this button opens a popup that simulates a keyboard, similar to the input field of the Google page.

Stateful WDJ application

Hello Experts,
I would appreciate any help or suggestions for the following scenario:
I am developing two WDJ application using NWDS 7.0 SP7. Both of these applications will be consumed by the Portal and accessed by two different Workset-->Pages.
The first application will allow the user to populate a "Shopping Cart" with products. The Second application will allow the user to create a Customer Account.
I would like the Portal user to be able to:
- Populate a shopping cart
- Access the "Customer Application" via the Portal CustomerWorkset-->Page
- Return back to the "Shopping Application" through the ShoppingWorkset-->Page
- See original Shopping Cart items.
Can anyone please help me achieve this? By default, it appears that when I return to the "Shopping Application", the app is reset. If possible, I would like to avoid a creating Dictionary or EBJ components.

Facing problem when Integration of configurator with ADF application

Hello,
Integration of conifigurator with custom application is not returing to "return_url" after clicking on Finish button in conifgurator.
We have developed a custom ADF application which integrates a configurator.
We have follwed the below url on developing this.

After completeing the configurator process, but the page is still showing as loading and not returning the return_url parameter mentioned in initialization parameters
So we are unable to get the FacesContext of calling application as it always returns null.

How do I get back to the first page of an application when I'm in the middle of it?

I'm sure there's an easy answer for this, but I can't find it. If I'm in the middle of an application, say iBook, and I want to get back to the first page of that application, how do I do it? When I tap on HOME, I go back to the home page with all the icons. I want to go to another page within the application I'm in? I've been stuck in iBook for an hour.....I don't know how to get back to the first page in that application. Thanks.

The shelves should show the ibooks that you've got in the app i.e. your downloaded purchases from the iBookstore. At the top of the shelves there should also be a Store button (for browsing, purchasing, re-downloading books from the iBookstore), and Collections (where any PDFs that you've synced/copied into the app go).

I want shorter URL for my application not to write full path .

Well,
it's up to you. The first part (Mcit-Project-ViewController-context-root) is the context root which you define in the view controller project. 'faces' is the name the servlet filter reacts on. You can't omit it but shorten it in web.xml. The rest is your directory structure. I'm not sure how to shorten this other as to move the jspx files back into the web root folder.
By the way an ADF faces app never uses the .jspx at the end of the url. If you specify '.jspx', you only render the page but don't start the work flow.
