Interactive Report. Cell highlight.
Hello,
I'm using highlight functionality in Interactive Report actively and appreciate for this feature. Question: is it possible to define ONE highlight rule to ALL cells in every column. for example I need that any cell in the report which contains number 5 must be highlighted as Red ?
I make a simple calendar connected to our production plan and in this calendar can be up to several hundreds columns - so to define a rule for each of column is a little bit laborious...
Thanks in advance,
Alex
Hello,
Oh I see what you mean you want to highlight any cell across the report that has the value 5.
At the moment you can only do a Cell level highlighting on a column by column basis.
You should add this to the Enhancement thread.

Carl

Interactive report - No highlight in group by?
Apex 4.0.2
I use the IR Actions/Format/Highlight (cell) feature to color negative numbers red. This works fine for the regular IR view but when the same (numeric) column is used in the Group By view, the highlight doesn't kick in! And the Actions/Format/Highlight option is not available in this view either.
Is this a bug or am I missing something?

Making raw breakes in Interactive report
Hello
I have build an application, which is a grading system - it is going to be used for a competition.
In the main page of the application, I have an interactive report with all of the competitors, which are ordered by the highest marks they get.
The top six competitors are going to the next round of the competition.
I need to separate the first 6 rows of the report, from the rest of the report.
Is it possible to make a break after the first 6 records of the interactive report? May be by modifying a select statement?
Thank you for consideration.Wow, it's getting harder and harder to read posts here. People seem to be very casual with their writing. I don't know if it's because the forum is multi-national or people have gotten used to "IM-speak" or what.
I'm just saying... How do people expect others to want to answer their question if they don't put in the time to ask it so it can be comprehended?
Sorry, that was my rant for the day.
As for answering your question, you would need to change your report query to add a column like this:
row_number() OVER(ORDER BY competitor_score DESC) AS score_rank
If you simply want to highlight those who go to the next round, customize the Interactive report to highlight rows where the score_rank <= 6.
If you want the IR to to Group By, customize the IR to create a calculation, where if the score_rank <= 6, then "Move Forward", otherwise "Going Home". Then have the IR group by that new column. Or enhance your SQL query to do it. Something like this should work:
SELECT d.*,
CASE
WHEN d.score_rank <= 6 THEN
'Move Forward'
ELSE
'Going Home'
END AS progress_groups
FROM (SELECT ...,
ROW_NUMBER() OVER(ORDER BY competitor_score DESC) AS score_rank
FROM ...) d;
Good luck,

Displaying different colors for cells/columns in Interactive Report
Hi,
I have a requirement to display just the 'cells' in the Interactive Report columns with different colors.
There are 3 columns in the Interactive report.
The color coding for all the 3 different columns should be such that:
<40% - red color
40-70-orange
greater than 70%-green
I tried the highlight option in the report and saved the report as default, but still the color condition ended up getting displayed to the end user. I dont want this.
Can someone suggest a better way to handle this requirement?Perhaps explore similar solutions described here

How to highlight break column data in an interactive report?
Relates to an interactive reports V4.x :
In the break column area in an IR report, the labels and data seem to be very vanilla and hard to distinguish particularly if you break on more than one column. When I move a non-break column with a highlight defined (set on cell) into the break position, the highlighting disappears.
Is it possible to somehow retain the highlight colour on break column data?
Any hints?
thanks in advance

Dynamically Colour Cells in an Interactive Report
My application requires an interactive report where cells are colour coded and the cell may, or may not have a value, but the value doesn't relate to the colour.
The report is based on a view which returns a result set as follows:
rn col1_value col1_colour col2_value col2_colour col3_value col3_colour col4_value col4_colour
1 null grey 3 null null null null red
2 null null 3 grey null null 4 red
3 null grey null null 3 null null redIn the results, each cell to be displayed has two columns per row, one with the colour and one with the value to display where null is the default colour (white)/no value.
In Apex 4.1 I can set the colour based on the values using the dynamic actions on the report display, but I can't work out how to set the colour of col1_value based on the results of col1_colour. I am hoping there is a way to set the colour of the cell col1_value and hide col1_colour from the report.
If you know of any posts providing an example of how this may work, or if you are able to explain it to me I would really appreciate your time.
I appreciate it may not be simple to see what I am aiming for given the text restriction and no images/tables available on the forum, hopefully you get the idea, but if not, ask and I will try and explain further.
I have seen Blog posts about 3-4 years old on how you do this in Apex 3.0 or older, but can't work out how to get this to work in Apex 4.0 or Apex 4.1.I have solved this using Javascript in a Dynamic Action, javascript something like:
$("td[headers='COL1_COLOUR']").each(function(){
switch($(this).text())
case "grey":
$(this).parent().children("td[headers='COL1_VALUE']").css({"background-color":"#999"});
break;
case "green":
$(this).parent().children("td[headers='COL1_VALUE']").css({"background-color":"green"});
break;
case "blue":
$(this).parent().children("td[headers='COL1_VALUE']").css({"background-color":"blue"});
break;
case "orange":
$(this).parent().children("td[headers='COL1_VALUE']").css({"background-color":"orange"});
break;
case "yellow":
$(this).parent().children("td[headers='COL1_VALUE']").css({"background-color":"yellow"});
break;
default:
break;
$(this).css({"visibility":"hidden"});
$("th[id='COL1_COLOUR']").css({"visibility":"hidden"});

Highlight current row on Interactive Report
What is the best way to highlight (or identify) the current row in an Interactive Report?
I’ve created an interactive report, based on a custom SQL query, with a link (on the primary key (id)) to give the user the possibility to select a certain record (that will show some additional regions with detail information). How can I identify (highlight, indicator) the selected row in an Interactive Report?
Many thanks for your help,
JohnI wanted the same without using jQuery. Roel's example set me on the right track. To ensure keeping my current row highligthing after using the pagination links I've managed to dynamicly modify the pagination link in the IR using javascript, but I have a little (I hope) problem left.
I've managed to change the pagination link when rendering the page from
<a h ref="javascript:gReport.navigate.paginate('pgR_min_row=16max_rows=15rows_fetched=15')"></a>to
<a h ref=javascript:gReport.navigate.paginate('pgR_min_row=16max_rows=15rows_fetched=15');highLight(this)></a>Unfortunatly my added code does not notice the changes made by the gReport.navigate.paginate code. It does only work when I add an alert (); in my highLight code. This alert will force showing the changes made in the DOM-model by gReport, allowing the highLight function to re-exame the DOM-model and change the pagination link.
Anyone an idea how to overcome this problem ?
Kind regards,

Highlighting a value in an interactive report
Hi,
I have an interactive report on which i have a column which displays either "Y" or "N". My requirement is to display "N" in bold and red color for every record having N. How can i make it work in my interactive report.
ThanksHi Andy,
I am sorry but didnt understand what you are asking thats why i posted my query. I didnt understand what you meant by standard report column. It was highlighting N in my previous post because i didnt write my code in CODE tag. Npw please have a look.

Interactive Report: how to get value of given row/col cell in selected row
Hi -- I have an interactive report. Instead of the default behavior of the link going to a single row view, I want it to
go to a form for editing the row. This means I have to be able to populate the form w/ the correct row's information...
so need to get the value(s) for the PK column(s) in the selected row of the interactive report, so I can select the row
from the database.
How can I do this? I see in the report attributes, Link Column section, I can set Rows Uniquely Identified by, and a Unique
Column (though there could be more than one in a PK). I imagine I'd want to use the rowid, but I'm not sure how the
rowid of the selected IR row can be referenced. And at that point, I'm not sure how to get the IR column value for
that row. (Say I'm on the 8th row and I need the first column... How is the column referenced? By a number, it's name,
its heading?)
Or maybe I'm not on the right track at all...
Ideas?
Thanks,
CarolHi Carol,
What I´m trying to do is: defining a button such as when you click it a pl-sql procedure is called, which needs as an input parameter the id of the row selected in my form. what I need first, then, is to get the id of the selected row. how did you get it?
Thanks in advance

APEX Interactive Report Compute Case with multiple conditions to highlight
My ultimate is to highligt a row in an interactive report based on two conditions. I didn't see a way to use the highligt feature with two conditions. So I thought I would try to create a computation based on the two conditions. Then use that result for the highligting. Though I don't seem to be a be able to use multiple conditions in my computation Case statement. Is there a different syntax?
Here is what I have:
Case
When C = 'Open' and I > 15 Then 'True'
Else 'False'
End The error I get is: Invalid computation expression. and
Application Express 4.0.2.00.07
Thanks!
Edited by: cjmartin on Jan 10, 2012 10:57 AMI'm surprised no one responded to this. What I did to resolve this issue was create a nested case statement. I don't think this was a good solution, but I can't find anyone else giving input. I know I can create another computational column in the select statement for the report, but the 'Interactive Report' part is where this should be. I want my clients to calculate what they want. Kind of hard when you can not use an 'and' for a range criteria.

Simple way to change color of field in an interactive report
Is there a simple way with css to change the color of a field in an interactive report. I want certain fields to stand out.
Can you provide an example and where the code is inserted in APEX? TY.jfr620 wrote:

The appearance of cells based on the report structure can be controlled using CSS: +{message:id=10373505}+
Conditional formatting based on cell values is better handled using the built-in highlighting, or Dynamic Actions/JavaScript, which provide better separation of concerns than generating HTML in the query: +{message:id=10493230}+
(For even better separation, use the Dynamic Action to apply <tt>class</tt>es rather than setting style properties directly, and use separate CSS rules to apply the formatting.) -
Higlighting currency fields in interactive report
I have an interactive report where two cells need to be highlighted if the values in these two cells are not equal. Both cells have the currency mask (FML999G999G999G999G990D00) in the column attributes. I have modified the sql for the first column based on info in this forum. However when I use the span tag to conditionally highlight the cell, the format mask is apparently overriden by the span tag in the SQL statement. Is there a way to have both highlighting and a currency mask on the same cell?
SQL for report
SELECT CASE
WHEN TO_NUMBER (v.committed) < pwd.obligatedamt
THEN '<span style="background-color:yellow;">' || TO_NUMBER (v.committed) || '</span>'
ELSE
TO_CHAR (v.committed)
END committed, ...Thanks,
KimFigured it out. Here is the revised code. Instead of using the Number / Date Format field in the column definition (in APEX) and the span tag in the select statement, put all the formatting in the select statement and leave the Number / Date Format field blank in APEX.
SELECT CASE
WHEN v.committed < pwd.obligatedamt
THEN
'<span style="background-color:yellow;">'
|| TO_CHAR (v.committed, 'L999G999G999G999G990D00')

Set Form Values From Interactive Report Row
Using Apex 4.2.
I have two tables: T1 and T2
Table T1 contains five columns: CT11, CT12, CT13, CT14, CT15
Table T2 contains 4 columns: CT21, CT22, CT23, CT24
I have a page with two regions. Region 1 is a Form on a Table using table T1. Region 2 is an Interactive Report ( IR ) on table T2.
The SQL for region 2 is: select apex_item.RADIOGROUP(p_idx => 1, p_value => CT21) "Choose", CT22, CT23, CT24 from T2;
When the user clicks a radio button for a row in the Interactive Report, I would like the values in the IR cells CT22, CT23, CT24 to populate the CT13, CT14, CT15 fields in the table form in region 1. If a user clicks another row radio button, the values should update.
Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!Hi,
As per my understanding ur requirement is as below.
When the user clicks the 'Link Column' it should redirect to another page with the value of id, Day, Start Time, and End Time.
Hope all the cloumns are from the same table.
As Denes said, it is enought to pass the ID value to the link column as of below.
ie., u can modify ur query as of below.
SELECT Last Name,First Name,Day,Start Time,End Time, ID as "Link Column"
FROM t.
Now u can pass the value as #Link Column# which will pass the ID value to the next page.
Hope my understanding is correct. -
Text Wraps on Interactive Report
I created an APEX 4.1.1.00.23 application with some interactive reports. On the interactive reports I had a problem with text wrapping around so a string like this:
505 EAST 144TH STEEET
Would display as:
505 EAST
144TH
STREET
I corrected the problem with the following java script in the Execute When Page Loads page attribute:
$('td[headers="ADDRESS"]').attr("style","white-space:nowrap");
The user requested that the report break on two columns. I opened Actions>Format>Control Break, selected the columns, and saved the report. Now the java to format the address column does not seem to take effect. Before I applied the breaks the text would sometimes wrap and I could correct it by pressing the F5 key but this does not work anymore. How do I get the java script to take effect or otherwise correct the text wrapping problem?Comet wrote:

With the control break the IR generates different mark-up, so you need to add another selector to the rules so there's a match on the column cells in both the standard and break report views.
