Interactive Report Control Break Formatting

Hi All,
We have a report that is having control break by 2 or 3 columns.
The break lines are showing as below.
Domain Name : Academic Training, Job Title : Assistant Registrar, Standard
Course Title : Top in Ling & Cultr
The title should be shown in a single line, but actually it is showing with word wrapping as above.
Can we have set the word wrapping off for the control break titles. Also, there is a null values for the columns that are used for control break, the report is showing like Domain Name : Academic Training, Job Title :, Standard
Course Title : Top in Ling & Cultr
This also should be without two consecutive comma (separator). Can we change this?

    I have a page with an Interactive Report. I have hidden the Search Box and Actions menu (based on users's request). I also want to hide the text on the page for the Control Break I created for the report (the part that shows the column name for the Control Break and the X icon next to it).     This stuff seems to sit in a table with the following attributes:
    class="control_panel"
    id="apexir_CONTROL_PANEL"So you should be able to apply a style to hide that entire table, such as .control_panel{display:none} or #apexir_CONTROL_PANEL{display:none}

  • Preserving control break formatting in report downloads with BI Publisher

    Hello,
    I am using APEX 4.0.2 and would like to know if anyone has a step by step process or tutorial for preserving control break formatting in an interactive report that has been downloaded to any or all of the available file formats. I am using BI Publisher, to which I am very new, to do the report printing of the Reports Region to a PDF, RTF, XLS, CSV or HTML file. Currently, when we download the report to any of the file formats, the formatting is stripped out and only standard row/columns are being saved.
    BTW, I have changed my username to something more friendly but it has not yet taken effect.

    Thanks for your quick respond.
    1.) Auto Run is enabled. And the report runs automatically as well. But then it ignores the dashboard prompt (as a regular report would do as well). But when I choose some values in the prompt and then press go. Then it says I have to press on view as well.
    2.) no that is not the case. My report is so big that it always need a scroll bar ;) also adjusting the size settings in the dashboard doesn't help. The only occurs when viewing in HTML, when previewing in excel or RTF it all just work fine.
    3.) true, but ow well this is the least importetant one ;) so if this doesn't work, than it doesn't work ;)
    4.) Ok, I will have a look on that.
    5.) I did enabled HTML and EXCEL outputs in my BIP report. But when the first point is working, then I don't want to see the control bar anymore and I want to have the output on the dashboard in HTML and then I want to build a button, or a link or something that exports the request to excel. Is that possible?

  • Display problem - report /w break formatting

    Hi everyone,
    I'm having a display problem in a standard report with break formatting on first column and repeat headings on break. Whenever I start a new page and a new group of data starts, the heading for the break is displayed 2 times. If the new page doesn't start with a new group, there's no problem.
    I've made an exemple there : http://apex.oracle.com/pls/apex/f?p=25160:9
    You can see the group #1 on the first page, no problem there.
    On the second page, the group #2 begins and the header is repeated.
    On the last page, the header for group #3 is not repeated because it was started on the previous page.
    Why is the header for group #2 repeated ? How can I correct this ?

    I think it is a BUG, that was not fixed in 4.2.
    Is it possible to workaround it????
    Probably dynamic action with something like this javascript $("#my_table_id").find("tbody tr:(:eq(0))").remove(); With "On-Change" Event on the Region?
    But this javascript should be execute only on the pages greather than 1. How can I check in javascript which page of report is actually shown???
    Ideas, please!

  • Error in exporting from Interactive Report to PDF format

    Hello,
    i am using APEX and from an Interactive Report i am trying to export using Download | PDF format. The table and corresponding report has only text fields. Database character set is UTF-8. Up to now i haven't been able to get a PDF file that can be open from Adobe Acrobat Reader. Every file fails opening with message like "Adobe Reader could not open filename.pdf, because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged (for example, it was sent as an email attachment and wasn't correctly decoded). This happens for every report i have tried up to now. If i export report in CSV format all are ok.
    Is there a known bug with PDF download of APEX?

    FOP & Cocoon are free (just need to install the software and configure) Bi Publisher I believe works only for Standard Reports and no Interactive reports at this time.. If you have the $$ BI Publisher is worth the investment!!
    Also, it is rumored that APEX 4.0 will have the PDF generation built in as apposed to the current model where you need to bolt something on..

    I have an ALV report and when we try to print the output from List -> Print  , we would see Format under properties. I would like to control this format from inside my program. How can we do this? I tried LINE-COUNT and LINE-SIZE additions already with the REPORT statement but did not work. Please share your thoughts. Thanks.

    Thanks for the info. One more thing before I close the ticket. I have a report output with 7 pages. Second page has 20 columns in it. When I use format X_65_255, all 20 columns on the page are not being displayed. When I used X_65_512, the remaining columns overflowed to next page but all other pages (pages 1, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7) have a blank page after them. Couple of quick questions.
    1. How can we get rid of the blank pages?
    2. Or is it possible to fit all columns from 2 page into just one page, may be reducing the font?

  • Apex 5.0, Horizontal scrollbar for Interactive Report  and Pivot Format

    Hi,
    i would like to know how to have an horizontal scrollbar for an interactive report (5.0) after making a pivot from the user interface; i have a lot of columns and without the pivot the horizontal scrollbar appears . After it doesn't appear.
    I tried with the Region Header <div style="overflow:auto;"> and Region Footer </div>  but without success.

  • Control Breaks in Interactive Report Throw off HTML Header Style

    I created an APEX 4.0.0.11.23 page with an interactive report. Several columns are character strings with embedded spaces. At first, when the columns displayed they were wrapped around to as many lines as there were spaces. so I formatted it with this HTML header style:
    $('td[headers="ADDRESS"]').attr("style","white-space:nowrap");
    This corrected the problem but then the user requested two breaks on Column_A and Column_B. This threw the formatting off so I corrected it with this HTML header style:
    $('td[headers="ADDRESS BREAK_COLUMN_A_COLUMN_B_2"]').attr("style","white-space:nowrap");
    Now the lines wrap for some but not for all rows and there does not seem to be any pattern. So for instance the address for one particular row will look display in the desired format as:
    530 EAST 144TH STREET
    And another almost identical row will display as:
    525 EAST 143RD
    STREET
    I thought there may be binary data in the column so I embedded the following code in the main SELECT query that drives the page”
    Regexp_Replace(ADDRESS, '[^[:print:]]')
    This did not help. How do I implement HTML header styles for interactive reports with multiple control breaks so that the address is formatted properly for every line? Is there a related report or page attribute that needs to be set?
    BTW, the way I discovered the HTML header style for interactive reports with multiple control breaks by following this link which was provided in a related thread:

    Suggest you reproduce this on apex.oracle.com using the same theme, IR configuration and equivalent data.

    Here is my problem: I created a table containing a field COMMENT varchar2(4000) and using APEX 4.1 I built an interactive report on it.
    Users can fill the field COMMENT with sentences on different rows, ex:
    " this is the first line
    this is the second line
    this is the third line"
    This is correctly managed in the FORM, where I defined the field COMMENT as 'Text Area', but in the REPORT I wasn't able to set it in a way which permits to see it whit the carriage returns: the content is displayed on one row only : "this is the first linethis is the second linethis is the third line".
    I tried and set all the possible field types, but I found no ways to display the content exactly as it is (with carriage returns).
    Obviously I cannot use HTML
    , since I cannot ask users to digit it when inserting their text.
    Could someone suggest me how to reach this result? In need to use the interactive report because the searching/filtering tool is fundamental.

    We are in the process of converting existing reports to Interactive Reports (IR), and adding a bunch of new ones. We ran into a roadblock when using IR with aggregates. To
    reproduce, I created a test table with region, state, county, city and population columns. I created an interactive report, CONTROL BREAK on "Region", aggregate (SUM) on
    population. The result looked like this.

    (population) FROM .. " to summarize the data. This displays results like the one shown in Result #2.

    Hi Ravi,
    When you add a control break, we do not re-generate the query to do group by. We just do control breaks. In the current version of APEX, to achieve what you are trying to see, you need to create an Interactive report with group by clause. If you want to use a dynamic query, the solution I suggest will not work.
    The good news is in APEX 4.0, we are working to include group by view to an Interactive Report. This will let you select group by columns and aggregate functions to get the Result #2 you are trying to get.
    If you wish to see how this works, we will be able to show if you come to APEXposed 2008, October 29 - 30, at Chicago O'Hare Wyndham.

    is it possible to create "Control Brake" for the Group By view of the interactive report?

    interestingly, there are settings in print attributes, but they have no bearing on the output... obviously nothing to do with the html output. Probably best bet is BI Publisher, where you can define your own report templates.

    I am using Apex 4.1 and Oracle 11g.
    Can anyone pls help me with this below issue.

    a,b,c,d are column names.
    I have used the above HTML code for giving background color for single column. But when I am downloading the Report in CSV format through Actions Menu on Interactive Report in the d column i am getting the HTML code also along with data in it which i dont want. I want only the data to come into CSV not the HTML code along with it.

Usually there is a human-readable error message in there generated by the web server, Apex or any other party involved in its generation...
    But, as pointed out, have you set up Apex to generate PDFs?
