Interactive Report - make primary report unmodfiable

Hi,
I have customised an interactive report with some row coloring.
http://apex.oracle.com/pls/apex/f?p=33803:1
and want to ensure that end- user are unable to customize it. Is there a way I can make it unmodifiable by end users by removing the option to hide that checkbox and image with red-cross for saved primary report?
Basically I don't want users to change the row-coloring as currently set in primary report.
Cheers.

Hi, same problem here. Did you find a solution?

  • Saving private interactive report overwrites the primary report

    Hi,
Having this issue in Apex 4.1.1 and 4.2 (haven't tried it in versions prior to 4.1.1 yet).
So I got my standard IR, and trying to create a private report with control breaks, aggregations.
Once I save it as a private report, It applies the same on my primary report.
It's no big issue as I can flip back to Primary report and delete the control breaks, aggregations but is some kind of bug? Ideally it shouldn't modify my primary report unless I try to save it as "Default Report Setting".
    Cheers.

    Hi,
Try switching back to your Primary Report in the list of reports then choose Reset in the actions menu. This should then reset it back to your original report.
    Thanks
    Paul

You can see that the interactive report has edit link. How can I make my classic report to have edit link also? It's not necessarily an edit link. In that case it's simply a single row view.
Take a look at creating a page/region using the Form > Form on a Table with Report wizard, selecting "Classic" for the Implementation option.
To add links to existing standard reports, use Column Links.

If someone else does the work on apex.oracle.com, how are you going to know how to reproduce it in your own environment?

  • IR Saved Report  - Download to CSV downloads Primary Report

    Hi there
I'm using Apex 4.1, I login to my Apex application NOT using the developer interface (the developer buttons are not visable at the base of the page) as an end user would see.
If I run an IR report and then create a filter on the Primary report the report runs OK. I then click Actions -> Download and then Download the report output to a CSV file (correctly filtered) to a Excel spreadsheet. I then Save this report giving the report a Name and Description. I then logoff from the Apex application. So far so good.
I then login back on to my Apex Application. When I choose and run the Saved Report (described above - not the Primary report) the saved report runs correctly (applying the correct filter condition), HOWEVER when I then click on Actions - Download I seem to get the Primary report downloaded as a CSV file into my Excel spreadsheet - the filter condition that is applied to the saved rerport is ignored for the Downloaded CSV file. The File Downloaded is a new CSV file generated in Apex as reported in my Firefox 'Downloads' list.
Does anyone know if this is a Bug or have I not set up the IR correctly.
    Thanks in Advance

    Hi Mehabub,
Many thanks for the quick response.
Did you test this in version 4.1 of Apex? I logged on to Oracle's 4.2 Early Adopter Beta Site and did the same and the IR works fine! Maybe it's a strange problem in 4.1 although I doubt it as with such a problem there would be a lot more noise on this forum. Could this be related to the 'theme' that I'm using? As the theme I'm using was origionally developed for Apex 3.2 and I don't think IR reports were around in 3.2?There is a good chance that it has to do with the theme or the upgrade from Apex 3.2. Interactive reports existed in 3.2 also user defined reports. But a lot of changes were made to the IR logic since 3.2 (introduction of multple standard reports, etc.).
I just tested your case in my Apex 4.1.1 version in an application that was also upgraded from 3.2. And the data was stored correctly into a csv file.
But it is useing one of the standard themes that was also updated.
Did you set the compatibility mode of your application to 4.1?
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23903_01/doc/doc.41/e21676/apex_util.htm#AEAPI2329
    begin
       apex_util.set_compatibility_mode(<application id>, '4.1');
       commit;
end; Just because the environment is Apex 4.1 does not mean you application runs in 4.1. mode.

  • SAP CRM 7.0 - Interactive reporting tool enhancing reports with new fields

    Hi Everyone,
I am a BW Professional, currently working on evaluating the true benefits of implementing Interactive Reporting tool for our company. As I understand the Interactive reporting tool restricts us to report on individual reporting areas like Activities, Leads, Opportunties etc.
But according to our business it is very important for us to be able to report on cross reporting areas real time i.e. activities & leads together or activties, leads & opportunties together etc.
I learned about the enhancement work bench in interactive reporting tool where we can add SAP fields to individual reporting areas, so I thought of adding leads & opportunties to activities. This is where the fun part starts.
Here I learned that all activty ID, Lead ID and Oppo ID are all fed from one single field from SAP CRM i.e. OBJECT_ID, which means the system is dividing this data into individual reporting areas based on type of data i.e. leads or oppor's etc. and may be based on some key like account etc. So here is a technical question, for me to add a new field to a reporting area I have to give a field name but we already have OBJECT_ID from where I am pulling activties data, so if I want to include leads also in activties then I will have to add some logic manually to get that and can't use enhancement workbench because it is for missing fields from SAP CRM whereas in my case I already have OBJECT_ID from where I am getting Activity data.
Sorry if I am driving you guys crazy but I am just trying to think loud to make myself clear with concepts.
Also I have seen that a reporting area in Interactive reporting tool is based on a BW query, but I am not sure why not all the fields in BW query are available for reporting in Interactive reporting tool?
Any help or commets will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks & Regards,
    SRV

    Hello,
checking with the config wizard is always a good idea since it's the only supported way to configure this scenario
The secret is that you apparently did not activate the report areas. It is a bit missleading that the queries are checked before the report areas are checked, therefore you see the errors concerning the queries first. Below those errors you should find some lines like
Report areas: delivered 15, active <?>
CRM interactive reports: delivered 20, active <?>
        Activation of report areas checked
The last line offers some documentation and the actual link to activate the report areas.
    Best regards

  • How to make slow reports fast?

    Hi all,
How to make slow reports fast? What could be the various reasons and optimizations/solutions?
    Thanks,
    Charles.
    ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Its an on going process. Couple of steps you will have to follow: Did you perform any SQL trace ..?
Did you perform any ABAP trace...?
How much business data these reports are processing. Is there a possibility you can do some changes.
SQL Trace ( SAP in built tool) will give you a fair idea about each and every SQL statements in your report. And you can anlyze bad ones. And also propse optimized SQL or
    index if needed.
ABAP Trace(SAP in bulit tool), you can find out amount of ABAP run time thats being elapsed by each and individual abap module.
Also the amount of business data is every  important. While designing the report alogorithm this is very important factor.

  • How to make crosstab report in crystal report

    my query is like this

    group by YEAR(JDT1.RefDate)
    )currentasset on YearDate.year = currentasset.year left join
    select YEAR(JDT1.RefDate) as year,sum(JDT1.Debit - JDT1.Credit ) as Inventoryaset from JDT1,OACT

So if i view the data in sql server it should be like this
    Year   CurrentRatio   quickRatio
    2006               501                 100
    2007              600                  200
    2008             700                   300
    2009             900                   400
I want to make a crosstab with the column is year . the Year is dynamic according to the selection
So if i select the year from  2007 to 2009
It should be like this in report
    2007                2008              2009
    CurrentRatio                 600                  700                  900
    QuickRatio                    200                   300                 400
How can i make it in Crystal report ?
I have use the template in crosstab crystal report, but there is not suitable.
    Can i make manually. ?

    Hi kevin,
thanks for your respond . Actually, it's work.
But i have some issue again.
How can i make a grouping
    So the grouping per Item
    For example
                                                          2006                 2007                 2008
    Group 1               Item A                5                        6                       7
                                Item B                7                        8                       9
    Group 2              Item C                  9                       0                      0
                               Item D                 8                        8                      9
And another question, Is there always have row summary ? It seems that after the 2008 column, there is a total column, Can I remove this ?
    Thanks in advance

  • How to make OBIEE reports available during the DB tables data refresh?

    Experts,
We have our production ETL run for 2.5 days every month. OBIEE reports will not be available during the run. We have a requirement to make the reports available all 24 hrs 365 days. So, what we are trying is to copy all the fact/Dim tables to the new schema running in the same or different DB server and amend the connection pool to point this schema during the run. Here are my questions. Is this a workabale solution (or) is there better approach for meeting our requirement
    Regards,
    Sarvan

    I would suggest this option:
Store the following connection pool values in a table and call them in your connection pool using Connection Pool Scripts
    Data Source Name
    User ID
    Pwd
when ever you want to change db just you need to edit these values that would help your bi with no downtime.
You might have to tweak it little bit if needed.
More or less we have use sometime back to a client where they want to switch dbs dev to test to etc
    Try it out.
BTW: 2.5 days load time for Full load or Incr?

I'm having trouble linking a field from a primary report to the same field in the subreport.I've followed all the steps outlined in the help section. When I preview the report I get a parameter prompt for the linked fields.  Should this happen?I've posted the report here http://www.box.net/shared/yu59bgeu8k The file is entitled "SPD1541...rpt"

    Post Author: halecakalli
    CA Forum: General
you need to write the fields to the record selection of the SUBREPORT.
basically assign the parameter that is coming from the main report to the field on the subreport.
    e.g  ={?mainreportfield}
then it wont ask for any parameters for your subreport.

  • How to not make a report NOT print hidden fields

I have a report were i have alot of hidden fields under my real report. My report uses calculations from the hidden fields.
My problem is that when i run the report and export it to for example PDF. It generates 4 pages. 3 of them are empty and the first one is the one i only want to use.
I think this is because i have so meny hidden fields. So can i do something so that the pages with hidden fields do not get exportet?
    Systemdeveloper @ 4film

    Hi Edvard,
According to your description, when exporting the report, you don't want to have the hidden fields exported. Right?
In Reporting Services, when we export a report, all the parts in this will be exported including all the hidden report parts. In this scenario, even you cancel the page break and make it together on one page, those hidden fields will still be exported
as blank space in your report. And if there are too many hidden parts, it will exceed the page size and still have blank page in your report. So for your requirement, we suggest you use some function like Lookup(), LookupSet() in expression to do calculation
for other data fields instead of using a lot of hidden fields.
    Reference:
Lookup Function (Report Builder and SSRS)
LookupSet Function (Report Builder and SSRS)
If you have any question, please feel free to ask.
    Best Regards,
    Simon Hou
Correct, i don't want them exported. when i generate the report all my required data fits on one page. And then i get three blanks.
