Interesting Waveform Logging to Excel Chanllenge

Hello, I have simulated two sinusoidal signals. One is a sweep signal. I would like to log the data points of the signals to excel and explore the possibility of plotting the same graph in excel as it is in LabVIEW.  I have atached the VIs.
Thanks a lot.

Since you are using the waveform data type, the simplest way would be to use either the Export Waveforms to Spreadsheet or the Write Measurement File function. Excel can import either. If you want to use an actual Excel file, then it's not much of a challenge if you have the report generation toolkit. If you don't, then you have to manually use the same ActiveX functions that are in the toolkit. Have you done a search of 'Excel' in the forums. There are thousands and thousands of similar posts.

You are getting such a large number of readings because your VI has no timing control in it, if you simply add in a delay somewhere of maybe migrate to an event structure with a timeout then you can control the number of readings that are taken per second.

  • Export all data from my waveform chart to excel

Hello, my name is Chris. I am just learning to use LabView. Everything I have learned so far is through these boards. Which is a valuable tool for someone learning. The VI I am working on is to monitor current from a unit we are testing. I am able to monitor current and have it running in what I believe to be real time. As I said, this is the first one I have made. I am trying to export all the data from my Waveform Chart to a report. Everytime I try I get one instance and it measures 0. I don't know what I am doing wrong. Any help would be appreciated. Also, if you have any suggestions on the all around working of this I would appreciate that as well. Thank you in advance.

    Hey Christophrt,
If you are trying to display the microseconds for a waveform chart in LabVIEW here is how you can do it:
Go to the Chart Properties>Display Format>X-Axis>Advanced editing mode>enter:
%<%I:%M:%S%6u>T  as the format string and you will have the hours: minutes: and seconds to the microseconds.
If you are trying to display the exported data in microseconds in Excel, you will probably have to do some formatting changes in Excel to have that work.

  • How do I create a waveform from my excel data?

I have entered read my excel file data into Labview using the ActiveX application. There are four columns of data. I was wondering how I would go about creating waveforms with this data.
    Thanks

For each column, you would pass that array to the Build Waveform function along with the dt and t0 information that you saved in the file.

  • Removed standby but getting interesting alert log entry

So, we had multiple set ups of primary database in our local data center, standby in remote location.
We're in the process of shutting down our remote location and have shut down our standbys gracefully, i.e., shutdown managed standby mode, removed archive_log_dest, changed archive_log_dest_state, etc. However, in some primary databases, I'm seeing a weird entry in the alert log:
    Changing destination 2 from remote to local during archival of log#: 2 sequence#: 48708 thread#: 1
If I check my local destination, the archive log is created fine. In the remote location, no archives are being created.
I've not found anything on Google, Metalink, anywhere! Has anyone else seen this before, and if so, do I need to worry about it?
    Oracle version is 11.1.0.7

    Hello;
Its just information. You can ignore it.
Went back to some 2010 alert logs and found :
    network reconnect abandoned
    Attempting destination LOG_ARCHIVE_DEST_2 network reconnect
Setting 'active' archival for destination LOG_ARCHIVE_DEST_2Not much chance of finding here as all old version of Oracle are gone and a SAN move makes old alert logs rare. Still it just information or Oracle would throw an error.

  • Save multiple waveform graphs and data in one Excel File

    Hi there,
I managed to save data from waveform graph into excel file and saving the plot into excel but individually. I'm aiming to save both the data and the plot in an excel file. May I know how do I do it? I've tried using the Write to Measurement File vi and also the invoke node of the waveform chart but it's still not giving me what I've wanted.
The above was only for one analog input channel and I have 2 analog inputs each with their respective sets of data and plot. Is there a way to execute the data and plot of one input in one worksheet and another set of data and plot in another worksheet, all in one excel file?

    Hi there;
I would recommend using the Report Generation Toolkit; it is the easiest way.
You can use either the Report Express VI or the Appi to save all your data in both formats

  • Logging InfoView viewing of agnostic documents

We use InfoView to catalog all types of reports, identified particularly as URLs but also potentially Microsoft Office documents (e.g., Excel documents).  These are not BusinessObjects solutions (Crystal or Webi, for instance) and so apparently viewing activity is not logged with the BOBJ auditor system.  However, we really need to know how often these "agnostic" documents are being accessed, when and by whom.
So, two questions: is there a way to extend the Auditor to track these events; and failing that, is there a web usage approach (since InfoView is a portal) that anyone has leveraged to log such activities?

Thanks for the response,  Very relevant and clarifying, but still we need a solution.  Since Auditor is off the list of possibilities, then what else can be done, as we do need to track usage.
As mentioned above, is there anyone who has figured out how to audit the activity from a generic web usage point of view, e.g., gathering data and using Web Trends, for instance.
Another avenue might be possible for our case.  We actually display that part of InfoView we are interested in logging through the SAP Enterprise Portal InfoView iview, which I believe creates a virtual KM entry in the Portal mapping to each document.  So...is there a possibility of tracking usage from the Enterprise Portal vantage point?
So, if anyone has experience in either of these directions, or some other, we'd appreciate very much hearing about it.

  • Why does LabView crash when I run it in parallel with a temp/ RH logging probe?

I am running LabView 6.1 on windows 95. Up till now I have had no problems. However, we recently acquired a Temperature / Humidity probe which plugs into the Com1 port of the computer and logs the data using it's own software. Since then, when the two programs are used together, eventually LabView crashes with the following error message: Failure, 'image.cpp, line 5793.
Can you tell me why this occurs and what the solution is?

Taking a shot at this. It could be because the two programs are trying to access the same type of logging program(excel??). Only one link can be active at a time or they crash. Try running it without saving the data and see if it crashes.

    Hi,
The article you referenced might be applied to SharePoint 2007, however, in SharePoint 2013, the
    RowsToDisplay property and
ColumnsToDisplay property are no longer supported, so these properties are not guaranteed
to work as they were in SharePoint 2007.
If you want to customize the Excel Web Access Web Part, it is recommended to take a look at the two documentations about Excel Web Access Web Part custom properties:

    Hello Patrick,
As I have posted in my question I am interested in customizing the Excel viewer aspx page which opens up when you open an excel book via the document library in SharePoint 2013. The solution you are talking about is to modify the properties of the excel
web part and this does not answer my question.
Again, can you tell me if there is any possible way to customize the XLVIEWER.ASPX page sitting in LAYOUTS folder so that I can access certain properties like AllowInteractivity, etc? Or has this been completely discontinued by Microsoft in SharePoint 2013?
    If the RowsToDisplay
    property and ColumnsToDisplay
property are no longer supported, are there
any other property that this tag supports?
We have opened the xlviewer.aspx page from layouts folder and can see the foll. control:
    <Ewa:ExcelWebRendererInternal id="m_excelWebRenderer" runat="server"
    AllowInteractivity="false" AllowPivotSpecificOperations="false"/>
However, there is no documentation available from Microsoft or any other dev sites on this control/tag. This
link mentions that the ExcelWebRendererInternal is a totally useless instance.
    I need clarification on this.
We also tried to edit the "C:\Program Files\Common Files\microsoft shared\Web Server Extensions\15\TEMPLATE\LAYOUTS\1033\ewa.strings.moss.js" file. But, any edits corrupts what is rendered on the right click of the pivot chart/table on xlviewer.aspx
    page.

  • Microsoft Excel cannot access the file "-". There are several possible reasons. Windows Server 2008 R2 with Microsoft Office 2010

I have a problem with starting the Excel Application under a particular user (service account).
I try to schedule this C# script through an application X (not Windows Task Scheduler. And this
application will always use a service account to run services on the server). If I run the C# script in
command prompt under the same user, it runs. Under the application X, which uses the exact same
user, to initiate the C# script, it fails to open the Excel application (not sufficient permission?).
This script calls application.Workbooks.Open(<ExcelFileName>,0,false,Type.missing....). At this line
of code, it gives the following error:
Microsoft Excel cannot access the file "...". There are several possible reasons:
-The file name or path does not exist.
-The file is being used by another program.
-The workbook you are trying to save has the same name as a currently open workbook.
I tried all the methods that I found online as follow:
Create directory "C:\Windows\SysWOW64\config\systemprofile\Desktop" (for 64 bit Windows) or "C:\Windows\System32\config\systemprofile\Desktop" (for 32 bit Windows).
Changed the DCOM config for the Microsoft Excel application to include this user for Local/Remote Launch and Access.
Enabled all macros in Excel application and set the Trust Center.
Add the user to have full control on all folders that contain the Excel file.
    Under DCOM
config, Microsoft Excel Application, if I modify the Identity tab to check on "This User" and enter the username/password to let Excel always run under that user. Then the application runs perfectly. However, other users can't run the excel application
on their own with the following error: "Cannot use object linking and embedding". If I check "Use the launching user", then Excel can't be launched. No errors in the logs or events anywhere to check.
Yet, still the same error. I think it's permission but I am not sure where and what to do for this to work.
Now, normally, when I run this excel report, I can double-click on the file and it'd automatically run,
save the new parameters into the current file and generate a new excel file (with date attached to the
file name). That means there is a change (save) to the original file.
Environment: Windows Server 2008 R2 and running Microsoft Excel 2010.
    I appreciate all your help!

I am wondering if this has anything to do with having the user log into Excel.
In point #5 above: Under DCOM config, Microsoft Excel Application, if I modify the Identity tab to check on "This User" and enter the username/password to let Excel always run under that user. Then the application runs perfectly. However, other
users can't run the excel application on their own with the following error: "Cannot use object linking and embedding". If I check "Use the launching user", then Excel can't be launched. No errors in the logs or events anywhere to check.
Because running with the launching user proposes an user to run the Excel application. However, I do not think there is any where that we can pass in the password for this user to Excel. However, this Excel has all the permissions to Excel application as
well as the folders that have the Excel files.
    Please help!
    Thank you!
