Internal links to list items (as in Microsoft Word)

Hello, all!
I am a switcher to Mac. Would be grateful if you could ease my switching
Mic. Word has a great function for lawyers I always used: I make a document with multilevel numbers like:
1.
1.1.
1.1.1.
1.1.2.
1.2.
2.
2.1
etc.
This one is available in iPages as well.
Then in my text I want to allude to one of the paragraphs, eg: ...under par. 1.2...
In Word I used special links. THen if I added new paragraphs, those links in the text would renew automatically. Say, I decided to add a par. after 1.1, so that ex. 1.2 became 1.3. Then the link in the text would become 1.3 instead 1.2 automatically.
Please, say that iPages does have the same function...
The way to make each par. as a bookmark manually is not acceptable, as is clear.

Thanks Yvan!
I tried it. I should say it's very similar to word and is really worth of ... don't know... itself
It does have multi level numbered lists and does have cross references, which is great. But I encounted some problems.
1) it does not see references made in Word at all (but does see lists correctly). And Pages sees references and lists but just can't work with them (update for eg.).
2) vice versa - if I save new doc in NeoOffice in doc format, then Word can't update references made by NeoOffice, although Word sees them...
So... I don't know. Maybe the best way would be to work in Word through CrossOver.

  • Auto-included link to list item not working in Workflow or email notification

    I made a workflow straight from my SharePoint site--NOT from SharePoint Designer. (My computer is still running on Windows XP, so I can't download Designer until my boss upgrades me to a newer system.) When creating the workflow, you have the option to include
    a link to the list item by clicking a checkbox. The links don't work in either the email notification or in the workflow properties. Extra characters are being added for some weird reason. (For example, the correct link looks like "https://www.w14b.comcast.net/sites/<yada
    yada>.docx" and the links in the workflow and email look like "http://www.w14spw-po-b1.com/sites/<yada yada>.docx")  I see no place to edit the URL. How do I fix the links???

    Hi,
    Please check if the http://www.w14spw-po-b1.com/sites/ is the url of default zone of the web application where this site resides.

  • Can I list all invalid *internal* links within a site?

    Hi,
    we are automatically migrating content from LiveLink WCMS to CQ5. After the migration process there will be a small number of links (in text) which point to resources (mostly PDF) but contain errors. We would like to automatically determine all occurences of invalid internal links and list them for manual correction.
    But there seems to be only the external link checker, which produces a list (and we need internal links to be checked).
    And the usual internal link check seems to be active only during page authoring (and does not produce lists across all pages).
    Is there such a thing (or can it be easily built) like an internal link checker which crawls the whole site?
    Thanks for any help.
    Henning

    Hi Henning,
    AFAIK out of the box there is no such option. You need to build one.
    Thanks,

  • From SharePoint2013 list item data how to create Google Interactive Chart?

    HI All,
    From SharePoint2013 list item data how to create Google Interactive Chart?
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi,
    To push data from list items to Google Chart, we can use JavaScript Client Object Model or REST API to retrieve the data needed.

    Could u pls help on this

    Hi,
    According to your description, my understanding is that you want to copy data in SharePoint 2007 list to SharePoint 2013 list and the data in SharePoint 2013 list changes with the data in SharePoint 2007 list.
    You could use JavaScript client object model to retrieve SharePoint 2007 list items and copy them to other SharePoint 2013 list.

  • Importing Address Information From Microsoft Word

    I have a list of address in Microsoft Word that I want to import into Address Book. Here is an example of the format of the addresses:
    Hy-Drive Technologies Ltd.
    4-6705 Millcreek Drive
Mississauga, Ontario
    L5N 5M4
    (905) 542-3024
    [email protected]
    http://www.hy-drive.com/main/default.asp
    There is a space in between each address entry. In the document there are 100 addresses. How on earth to get this stuff into address book? I thought to paste into excel and some how arrange the data so it could then be imported into address book in the form of a csv file. However, I can't figure out how to arrange the addresses in Excel so it would work.
    Any ideas?
    Message was edited by: Ryan Vetter1

    In Word: Edit your addresses so they all have the same number of lines, but if this might result in a blank line in the middle of a set of details put in "dummy" or some similar placeholder.
    Edit/Find.
    In the Find box type "^p^p". Click Replace. In the replace box type "zzzzzz". Click replace all. This will take out the blank line between sets.
    In the Find box put "^p". In the Replace box put "^t". Click replace all. This will put a tab between each field in an address set.
    In the Find box put "zzzzzz". In the Replace box put "^p". Click replace all. This will restore the end-of-line marker between each set of details.
    If you put in any "dummy" in the Find box put "dummy". Delete the contents of the replace box. Click replace all. Close the Find/Replace dialog.
    File/Save as. Set the format to Text Only. Give the file a name which ends .txt (eg addies.txt). You now have a tab-delimited file in which there is a tab between each piece of information in a set and a return between each set.
    When you import it into Address Book you should get a dialog that allows you to set the correspondance between your various pieces of information (city, phone, email etc) and the corresponding Address Book fields.

  • Open Sharepoint Link List items in new tab?

    I have a sharepoint list which is Link List.Actually When I click on item in that link list it should be open in the new tab/window

    Hi,
    According to your description, you might want to open Link list items in a new tab/windows.
    If it is not a must behavior to use the “URL” column to hold the hyperlink, I would suggest you use “Hyperlink with formatting and constraints for publishing” column
    instead which can let users decide to open the hyperlink in a new tab or not.
    It is required to activate the “SharePoint Server Publishing Infrastructure” in the “site collection features”, create a column of this type in “Site Settings ->
    Web Designer Galleries -> Site Columns”, then you can add it into your list.
    Here is a link about how to add publishing columns to content types, lists, or libraries, you could use it as a reference:

  • Link to Sharepoint List Item

    I have a report that I built in SQL Report Builder 3.0 that pulls data from a SharePoint 2013 list. The fields are data, location, cost, department, and reference. The reference field is number that is input by the user on the SharePoint 2013 list. Is
    there a way for the reference field in the report to be a direct link back to open the SharePoint list item when it is clicked in the report?

    Hi,
    According to the description, I know you want to redirect to the SharePoint site by clicking on the value in the reference field in your report. Take the steps below to achieve this:
    1. Right-click reference field > Text box Properties in the designer surface.
    2. Click on Action page, check the option of Go to URL.
    3. In the Select URL box, type the URL of your SharePoint list.
    e.g. http://TestServer/toplevelsite/subsite/Lists/<Listname>/AllItems.aspx
    4. Click ok. Save and upload the report.
    This URL redirects to the SharePoint list page. If you want to redirect to the display form page of an item,
     use the code like:
    ="javascript:void(window.open('http://servername/sites/xx/Lists/listname/DispForm.aspx?ID=" & Fields!ID.Value & "&Title= "& Fields!Title.Value &"'))"
    ID and Title are used to identify the item which redirect to. You can change it according to the columns.

  • Item(select list) with LOV and Report with link = changed value item

    Hello,
    On one page I have:
    - Item 'P_name' (select list) with LOV to select name of a person;
    - Items 'factory' and Report 'factory'(standard created with 'Form with Report' on the same page).
    Situation:
    All works fine. I selected first a LOV Item 'P_name' (say 'Jane'). But....
    Only when I select a record (to change the values) from the report 'factory' then LOV Item 'P_name' become empty. Report used a link to the same page to fill the report items 'factory' and make also the LOV item empty.
    Question:
    I have made a process that write the name 'Jane' to table.
    I see two possibilities:
    - LOV Item value => fill the LOV item with 'Jane' from the table before region. Is this possible?
    - Report => What is the buttonname of reportlink? I can use this name in the processes.
    Thanks Walter!

    1) what i meant was for you to test this ridiculously huge LOV outside of htmldb, but it occurred to me last night that you could, in fact, be hitting a limit of ours. after some poking around, i have confirmed that. select list items in htmldb are currently limited to 10,000 rows. this was initially done for performance reasons, but they're now opening up the restriction. if you really need to work with that many rows where the user is allowed to pick from a set of values, consider using a popup item type instead. it'd help your app performance as well (in my test cases, it stank to have to wait for my 10k select list rows to come down to my browser).
    2) sorry to not have been more clear about this, but when you set your item's "Source Type" back to "Database Column", you'd have to specify that column in the "Source or value expression" field. also, you can't put a sql query into that "Post Calculation Computation" field. as i said before, "you can take a look at the attribute-level help for that field to see implementation examples."
    3) stick with "Always..." for now if you're using our auto-dml process(es)

  • Dashcode iPhone Webapp - Adding url links to multiple list item

    I was wondering if anyone knew how to add a url link to multiple list items without the use of a button part.
    Say For Instance i Have
    Item 1 > I want to go to www.mysite.com/index.html
    Item 2 > I want to go to www.mysite.com/help/index.html
    Any help would be greatly appreciated

    After hours of reading and experimentation, I have solved my immediate problem thus:
    function jsonLoaded(jsonRequest) {
    if (jsonRequest.status == 200) {
    events = eval( "("jsonRequest.responseText")" );
    document.getElementById('list').object.reloadData();
    } else {
    alert("Error fetching JSON data: HTTP status " + jsonRequest.status);
    var feedURL = "http://www.foo.com/bar.php";
    var onloadHandler = function() { jsonLoaded(jsonRequest); };
    var events = [];
    var jsonRequest = new XMLHttpRequest();
    jsonRequest.onload = onloadHandler;
    jsonRequest.open("GET", feedURL, true);
    jsonRequest.setRequestHeader("Cache-Control", "no-cache");
    jsonRequest.send(null);
    var listController = {
    numberOfRows: function() {
    I had to do two things:
    1. Declare the array 'events' outside the function.
    2. Reload the list data (thanks to http://osdir.com/ml/safari-iphone-web-dev/2009-05/msg00013.html )
    Now I've got to figure out how to pull in different data for different list levels!

  • Display SP2010 list items on a non-SP site

    I want to display items from a SharePoint list on an internal non-SP site. This would be read-only access, and the other site doesn't use Windows authentication. For security reasons, I would prefer not to allow anonymous access for anything on the
    SharePoint site. Can I create a dummy account that has only read access to just the specific list? If so, would that interfere with the standard authentication if the user goes to SP to add a list item? Or can the list be set up as a data source for a script
    on the non-SP site?

    Hi,
    I would suggest you create a new application based out of CSOM or JSOM / REST API and display information in your internal Non-SP Site. Else,you can use Iframe to display information within your internal site, however to get this working you may have
    to break inheritance and define permission level for users who need to do CRUD operation and for those accessing the list within internal non sp site readonly access.
    If you are ok with custom app model, then I would suggest these links -

  • Open a SharePoint List item in Modal Pop up in SP 2013 fails after you filter or sort the list

    Sorry for the long post. This has been killing me. I had this script working perfectly fine in SharePoint 2010 (online) and basically i have a source custom list (list A) with a hyperlink column and a Destination List with say title and my name.
    Source List (list A) looks like this with these 2 columns
    Title    Test Link
    A         Link 1
    B         Link 2
    C         Link 3
    Each of these links link to the actual list item in the destination list, so for example, link 1 is/sites/2013DevSite/Lists/Destination%20List/EditForm.aspx?ID=1
    So basically i want anytime the Link are clicked that point to another list's item to open in a modal dialog and the script below worked perfectly fine in SharePoint 2010 (online)
    <script language="javascript" src="//ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.10.2/jquery.min.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
    <script language ="javascript" type="text/javascript">
    jQuery(document).ready(function() {
    jQuery('a[href*="EditForm.aspx"]').each(function (i, e) {
    // Store the A tag's current href in a variable
    var currentHref = jQuery(e).attr('href');
    jQuery(e).attr({
    'href': 'javascript:void(0);',
    // Use the stored href as argument for the ShowInModal functions parameter.
    'onclick': 'ShowInModal("' + currentHref + '");'
    function ShowInModal(href) {
    SP.UI.ModalDialog.showModalDialog({title: "Edit Item", url: href});
    </script>
    All it does is find the href tags for that particular value Editform.aspx and the pop modal works in SP 2010 online. So the site page is designed in such a way there is a content editor web part with the reference to this javascript file and the sharepoint
    list is right beneath it and this worked perfectly opening in modal windows in SP 2010.
    Since migration to 2013, this is what exactly happens
    1.) when you come to the site page, the modal works,
    2.) If you filter or sort on say the Title or Test Link column in Source list (lets say you select the Value A), the script does not fire at all, if i hover over the hyperlink, the who hyperlink is shown and does not open the hyperlink in the modal pop up.
    - This is important because i want to be able to sort on a particular item...
    Could someone please let me know what am i doing wrong and why is this not working when i sort the list. Thanks for all the help.
    Once again i am trying to open a sharepoint list item in Sharepoint 2013 from another list using Jquery

    A ListItem has its own unique row id so in all likelihood, an insert with the same data will result in a new list entry. The Lists Web Service however, has an UpdateListItem method which will take an update request. [refer

  • SharePoint: Workflows - Emailing hyperlink of list item.

    I have a custom SharePoint (2013) list to manage tasks assigned to personnel and keep track of their statuses. I've created a workflow using SP Designer to send out an email to whom the task is assigned on the date for which it's due.
    The workflow is working properly and email alerts are being sent, except for one thing. Inside the email body is a hyperlink to the associated record which the recipient clicks on to view (only view, not edit) the task details.
    I got the record's hyperlink by accessing it's display form and copying the URL from the browser, pasting it into the email body. The URL's format looks something like this:
    http://zeroshiki/sites/SP2010-Main-Site/Lists/Announcements/DispForm.aspx?ID=2&ContentTypeId=0x0104000933421F36DFF740B428FEC15871B493
    Then I modified the URL by formulating a lookup to include the ID of the Current Item. In other words, the ID specified in the URL isn't fixed; it's based on the associated list item.
    I've confirmed that when the recipient recieves an email, the ID in the URL matches the record's ID on the site. However, when they click on the link and are redirected to the record's display page, there's no data displayed. The fields are visible but the
    values are not. Then I noticed that the URL in the browser does not match the one in the email; it's missing an ID value.
    So when the URL in the email is ...DispForm.aspx?ID=2&ContentTypeId... it changes to ...DispForm.aspx?ID=&ContentTypeID...
    Why does this happen? This method may seem strange to use, but I've tried looking up the "Encoded Absolute URL" and I get an error stating that the return type of the lookup is invalid. That's why I manually copied the URL format and formulated
    the record ID.
    Am I doing something wrong here? Is there a more straight-forward approach to retrieving the record's URL?

    Hi,
    According to your post, my understanding is that you wanted to send email with hyperlink.
    In order to solve the problem more efficiently I need to clarify some information.
    Did the hyperlink is the current item URL?
    How did you set the hyperlink?
    Per my knowledge, the "Encoded Absolute URL" result is https://sitename/Lists/listname/Id_.000
    To get the current item URL, I recommend to we can use [%Workflow Context:Current Item URL%] with SharePoint Workflow 2010 platform,
    Here is a similar thread for you to take a look at:

  • Get Calendar List Item GUID

    I downloaded code for a reservation event receiver from here:
    http://blog.sharepointsydney.com.au/post/Setting-up-multiple-calendars-for-meeting-room-bookings-prevent-double-booking.aspx
    However, on the ItemUpdating it throws an "Object Reference Not Set to an Instance of an Object" error.  By commenting out parts of the code and re-deploying I have narrowed the issue down to the line that gets the item's GUID:
    string guid_internal = collItems.List.Fields["GUID"].InternalName;
    When I modify it to something like "UniqueId" I get the "Value does not fall within expected range" error.  Is there a better way to obtain the GUID of the calendar list item - or am I missing something?  Full code below:

    Hi there,
    Please verify the internal name of column which you have hardcoded in the code i.e
    string start_internal = collItems.List.Fields["Start Time"].InternalName;
    string end_internal = collItems.List.Fields["End Time"].InternalName;
    I have used the Room reservation template from MSDN which has provided by MS under the code name of "Fantastic 40" along with below James Finn article.
    http://www.codeproject.com/Articles/30983/SharePoint-Reservations
    It worked for me for reservation.
