Invalid Variable Name

Dear Experts,
In Vendor Liabilities Aging Report PLD Name (Vendor Statement Report) I am getting error as :
Printing Error:Invalid variable number (RPT -6300) (Field: F_132) Variable '39'  [Message 200-38]
In Report BP Ref. Field is variable and no. is '39' but when put in PLD its raising above error.
Plz help. Any help or suggestions will highly appreciated.
Regards,
Ravi

Hi Ravi......
This will give you the same error again and again if you try to do it with the same way.
The reason behind it is for this Aging Report couple of fields have same Variable No. so SAP does not recognize to get it print so it gives this error.
Open PLD and add the DB field on row level and link link this field to Invoice Ref. No.
you get this Table in Dropdown list of Dababases.....
Hope this will give you clear picture how it would be done.......
Regards,
Rahul

  • Report failed to parse SQL query:ORA-01745: invalid host/bind variable name

    Hi,
    We are currently upgrading from v2.2.0.00.32 to v4.0.0.00.46.
    I have copied the applications onto our test server along with the various database objects and data etc.
    When I am running a report in v4, it is failing with the following error: "failed to parse SQL query: ORA-01745: invalid host/bind variable name".
    When I copy the SQL that builds the report into TOAD (on out test server) it runs OK so really cant see why it would fail in APEX. It works fine when I run the query in our APEX v2 and in TOAD in our live server.
    The query is as follows:

  • Invalid table name when pass in the table name as variable in dynamic sql

    Hi,
    I need to create a stored procedure which will return a list of data to my java application like the following.
    first, select the table name from the first table.
    For example : SELECT T_NAME FROM MDR_SMSTABLES
    second, select the data from the table which returned by first select statement
    For example : SELECT * FROM T_NAME.
    I use dynamic sql with cursor to select the data. But it returns "java.sql.SQLException: ORA-00903: invalid table name"
    I fetch the table name to varchar2. I think this might the cause it returns me the this error. But i don't know what type should i put for the table name other then varchar2.

  • Putting quote round a variable name to make a string

    Hi,
    Hopefully this is a fairly simple task.
    I would like to take a variable name, say Hyp, from my main program and call it in a class, captured in a variable called A and create a string with double quotes surrounding it... to give an answer of "Hyp" which can be used in my program for a further class call which needs the name in quotes.
    I've tried using
    String concat = """+A+""" but this results in an invalid AssignmentOperator
    If I use
    String concat = ""+A+"" I get Hyp with out the quotes - not what is required
    If I use
    String concat = "'"+A+"'" I get 'Hyp' which does not work with the further class which requires "Hyp"
    Can anyone help?

    Escape it with a \ like this:
    String concat = "\""+A+"\"";

  • Invalid column name error

    Having an interesting problem with a site I'm fixing. I'm

    Are you sure the query is the same? It looks like the one you posted has a syntax error
    SELECT e.emp_id, e.dep_id
      FROM emp e, loc ct, dep dt
    WHERE[b] c.dep_id[/b] IN (SELECT dt.dep_idYou've aliased the LOC table to CT in the FROM clause, but you're using the alias C in the WHERE clause. You use the correct alias CT in the query in your IN clause.

  • Invalid Table Name in query

    Hello, I'm trying to create a report on a table name that is in an item. This is the simple query I'm using for the report:
    Select * from :P9_MERGE_TABLE;
    I get an Invalid Table Name error. Is there any way I can build the query to get around this problem.
    thanks,
    Jan

    Certainly you can use a bind variable for a table name when building a dynamic sql query. But this is not exactly what I would call "binding the value of variable to a sql statement. You cannot bind a table name to a static sql query (hope this is the correct wording).
    For example:
    It is ok, to create the following static query:
    SELECT * from emp where empno = :P1_EMPNO;But this will not work
    SELECT * from :P1_TABLE_NAME;In this case, you have to do it the way discussed in this thread.

    I have even tried to replace the beans reference in the sql with just a login and password I know exists in the database! Same error... Help!

    Hi
    Thanks for your reply, I should of looked at my code before I copied over. The field should of been "studentinfo.familyname" which I was calling, I have just been changing so much code in this to try and see what the problem is, I didnt fix this before I copied this over.... trust me, I have tried everything........ Hence when I correctly called the "concatination the login name and password to the query properly" as you pointed out, I got rid of the error, BUT now it returning NO DATA????? (the table is populated - I have checked this!!!!)
    The table I am trying to get information from sits under a schema called system. It has the following columns;
    STUDENTID NUMBER 8
    FAMILYNAME VARHCAR 60
    GIVENNAME VARCHAR 60
    USERNAME VARCHAR 9
    PASSWORD VHARCHAR 60
    The database is called globaldb. My computer is called Midas2
    Whats more, the query works in Oracle sql*plus!!! Returning the relevent data!!!

  • Invalid column name 'SKEY_VAL' Error when Populating a planning dimension

    I'm trying to populate a planning dimension from a view in MSSQL. I thought that I had mapped the all of the required columns in my interface in ODI, but I am getting the following error:
    207 : S0001 : com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerException: Invalid column name 'SKEY_VAL'.
    I can see in Operator that ODI is generating the following SQL
    select
         LEFT(DIM_ACCOUNT.FLEX_VALUE,80)     as C1_ACCOUNT,
         DIM_ACCOUNT.PARENT_FLEX_VALUE     as C2_PARENT,
         LEFT(DIM_ACCOUNT.DESCRIPTION,80)     as C3_DESCRIPTION,
         LEFT(DIM_ACCOUNT.DESCRIPTION,80)     as C4_ALIAS__DEFAULT,
         SKEY_VAL
    from     DOT_STAGE.dbo.DIM_ACCOUNT_T_V as DIM_ACCOUNT
    where     (1=1)
    But I don't know why it is asking for the SKEY_VAL column or how I can map a value into this column when setting up the interface?
    I've read through the user guide and the getting started guide and I can't find any reference to this SKEY_VAL column.
    Does anyone know what causes this error and how I can fix it?

    1) No SKEY_VAL is not a variable.
    2) This is my first attempt at using ODI, I did not create the SQL. All I did was to create a reverse a model against my MSSQL staging database and create and reverse a model against the planning application. Then I created an interface for the Account dimension in planning mapped the account, parent and description columns from my SQL table to the Planning dimension and I get this error. There are no columns called SKEY_VAL in either the source or the target and I have not created any objects with this name in ODI. I can see that ODI is asking for this column when I execute the interface, but I don't know why.

  • Crystal Reports XI: Invalid column name error

    Hello!
    I have a crystal report using a SQL command that is getting the following error (occasionally):
    Failed to retrieve data from the database.
    Details: ADO Error Code: 0x80040e14
    Source: Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL Server
    Description: Invalid column name 'IPCSKUGroup'.
    SQL State: 42S22
    Native Error: 207 [Database Vendor Code: 207]
    I say occasionally because if i go to Database>> Log on or Log off server and log off the target server and then rerun the report, it will work.  If i refresh the report with different parameters, i get the error.
    I'm running Crystal Reports XI version 11.0.0.1282 on Windows XP SP2 32-bit.  The data is in a SQL Server 2000 database.
    This is the portion of the query causing the problem:
    (drop/clear temp tables and initiallize a few variables with parameters)
    (...other queries putting together the temp table #WorkingTotals) - This part works fine because the report runs if i remove the following portion.
    select wtt.QtrMax,QuarterName,Year,wtt.IPCSKUGroup as IPCSKUNum,ServicePriceSuggested,PcsBilled,BilledRevenue,PriceIndex,StdRevenue,
    (select sum(TT.BilledRevenue) from
    (select Top 4 wt2.BilledRevenue
    from #WorkingTotals2 wt2
    where wt2.IPCSKUGroup = wtt.IPCSKUGroup and wt2.QtrMax <= wtt.QtrMax order by wt2.QtrMax desc)as TT)
    as M12Revenue
    from #WorkingTotals wtt
    The entire query works fine when I run it in SQL Query Analyzer.  But Crystal has an issue with the way i'm figuring the M12Revenue field.  The M12Revenue is a moving 12 month revenue which is the sum of the revenue for the past 4 quarters for each quarter.
    This is what i've tried thus far:
    Putting the entire query into a stored procedure
    Storing what gets stored in #WorkingTotals into a database table rather than a temp one
    Renaming columns to various different things.
    Each of those still resulted in the error.
    Thanks for the help!!!
    Wes

    Hi Wes,
    What does SQL Profiler show you when the error happens?
    Try using ODBC to see if it also errors, may be an issue in MS's MDAC and the OLE DB driver. MS usually updates MDAC with all Patches but you may want to verify you are using the latest version.
    Thank you

  • INVALID COULMN NAME EXCEPTION

    hi!
    again got struck with small thing.i am inserting record in a table using prepare statement.
    exception it shows is:
    exceptionjava.sql.SQLException: [Microsoft][ODBC driver for Oracle][Oracle]ORA-00904: invalid column name
    have look at the following piece of code and table structure.
    code ::
    PreparedStatement s=conn.prepareStatement("insert into Account_holder_transaction_r values(?,getDate(),?,?,?)");
    s.setString(1,accountno);
    s.setString(2,vparticulars);
    s.setString(3,chequeno);
    s.setDouble(4,mdeposit);
    rows=s.executeUpdate();
    SQL> desc account_holder_transaction_r;
    Name Null? Type
    CACCOUNT_ID VARCHAR2(20)
    CDATE DATE
    CPARTICULARS VARCHAR2(40)
    CCHECKNUM VARCHAR2(40)
    CAMOUNT NUMBER(12,3)

    Actually, the lack of column names isn't the problem, (although it's horrible design). Thats valid syntax for Oracle, for inserting a value for all columns in the table in the order the DB happens to have them in.
    Syntax:
    http://download-east.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/server.102/b14200/statements_9014.htm
    Examples:
    http://download-east.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/server.102/b14200/statements_9014.htm#sthref7305
    It's horrible design because:
    a) if you add a new column to the table, it breaks the Java code
    b) if you do table maintenance that reorders the columns, it breaks the Java code
    c) having the columns in the Java code self-documents the relationship between the Java variables and the database columns
    The actual problem is the SQL itself. getDate() is not a native Oracle function, the analogous Oracle thing to do if you want the current time on the databse server is to use the SYSDATE pseudo-value, e.g.:
    PreparedStatement s=conn.prepareStatement("insert into Account_holder_transaction_r  (CACCOUNT_ID, CDATE, CPARTICULARS, CCHECKNUM, CAMOUNT) values(?,SYSDATE,?,?,?)");This will insert the current time on the dababasse server as of the moment the executeUpdate is performed on the database. (If the times of the database server and the Java application server are not synchronized, this can be confusing).
    Besides that, the stack trace tells us that you're using an MS ODBC driver; you probably ought to look very very seriously at using the Oracle JDBC driver.

  • Script logic error - Invalid object name 'tblStatus'

    Hi all,
    Running BPC 5.1 SP5 on SQL 2005.
    Has anyone ever seen this error message before? I only get the error message when choosing the run-time option in the package, to honor work status settings. This problem just appeared in the last few days, and I believe that a month or two ago, users were running the same logic (with the same yes-honor-work-status option selected).
    We did recently upgrade from 5.1 SP3 to 5.1 SP5, and I'm wondering if this may be a cause? That's just a hypothesis though.
    Invalid object name 'tblStatus'. in:
    select distinct d.VERSION,d.ENTITY,d.TIMEID
    from #RESULT_333729 d  where signeddata<>0
    and exists (select * from tblStatus s where [APP]='CONSOL' and d.VERSION=s.CATEGORY and d.ENTITY=s.ENTITY and d.TIMEID=s.TIME and [STATUS]>0)
    I understand what it means, and of course there is no table in the appset database tblStatus. Work status locks are kept in tblConsolLock (where Consol is my app name). And in that table, the field name is StatusCode, not Status. So it appears that this is some vestige of code from an earlier version of BPC / O'soft.
    This error occurs in a piece of script logic, that includes both basic SQL WHEN/IS/*REC's and also a *RUNALLOCATION. The error is thrown within the RUNALLOCATION code block. The complete run-up to the error message is shown below.
    -- Calculate difference

    Anyone experience this same error message? I searched for SAP support notes and found nothing to do with tblStatus or similar.
    Thanks for your help,

    Hi Sorin,
    Thanks, you've confirmed what I suspected.
    Yes, we always process & save apps & dims on any upgrade.
    We've reproduced the problem in all 3 of the environments with the customer's appset. I haven't yet reproduced in ApShell, but will do so & report it as a bug.
    And just out of curiousity -- was the other message you saw here in this EPM forum? Before I posted my question, I searched both here, and in the support notes, for "tblStatus" and a few other terms about work status lock errors, etc., and came up with 0 results.
    Thanks again,
    Tim

  • Sysdate gives Invalid column name

    Using Oracle/Tomcat, I'm invoking the following query through JSP:
    SELECT id from my_table where create_date >= (sysdate-10)
    where create_date is a field in my_table.
    When I run it through JSP, it gives me Invalid column name error, but when I copy the outpout of the query string and run in in sqlplus, it works fine!!
    What could be the problem

    Q: Can you SELECT sysdate FROM dual;
    If you can can you store it in a bind variable and use that in your query. Is there another JSP way of getting the date and storing it for use in your query?
