InvalidClassException in throwing EJBException from WebLogic 6.1 to WebLogic 7.0

We are running two versions of WL and need to run the GUI part of App
on 7.0 and the business part on 6.1.
We get an exception on 6.1 but in handling the exception on 7.0 we get
the following error:
java.io.InvalidClassException: javax.ejb.EJBException; Local class not
compatibl
e: stream classdesc serialVersionUID=-9219910240172116449 local class
serialVers
ionUID=796770993296843510
Sure enough the EJBException class on the different servers have
different serial version numbers. Of course, the root cause is
something else but we need to be able to handle exceptions throw from
one to another.
Any ideas on the best way to handle this?

That's understandable. I believe EJBException is the only class you'll
need to change, but it's worth testing.
If you're uncomfortable adding the class to the front of the classpath,
you'll have to open a case with [email protected] to get an official patch.

I believe that would probably solve the problem but I don't feel
particularly comfortable with replacing WebLogic classes.
How many other classes would we need to do this with?
FinderException?CreateException? What else?
Rob Woollen <[email protected]> wrote in message news:<[email protected]>...
I believe the problem is that 6.1 was released before J2EE 1.3 was final
and the EJBException serialversionuid changed. The easiest fix is to
take the EJBException class from 7.0 and put it in front of the 6.1
classpath.

    Is it possible to throw exceptions from threads since
    I can't add the throws statement to the run method I
    don't know how I could do it...
    Any help greatly appriciated!
    CyaYou can't throw checked exceptions, because obviously the code responsible for invoking the run() method wouldn't know what to do with it, and you wouldn't be the one to catch them. You can however throw unchecked exceptions (such as those based on RuntimeException).

  • Can i throw content from my sony tablet S to my Bravia hx750???

    throwing content from tablet s to tv>>
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Yep, asuming this does't work could indicate however their is a problem inside the network with firewall, which you can fix by enabling option uPnP inside the router.
    If that however still don't work you can try this app which allows you to throw anything as long it has a share button.
    https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.pv.twonkybeam&hl=nl
    Like this
    After that just select device to stream to inside the twonky beam app.
    I like this lot better because it lets me throw even inside youtube app or other apps, sony throw is limited to sony apps only which sux ball-s.

  • How to throw event from R3 to NW using JRA?

    Hi colleagues.
    I would like to throw events from backend R3 system to a Java composite which is running in NW CE.
    I red that this is possible with JRA. I have already created and deployed the Mbean, configured the NW server, created a JRA resource, set its parameters.
    I have also created a Http connection to external server in R3 sm59.
    The connection works fine when I click check button. However when I debug the Java code the debugger does not stop. So the event is not comming into the NW server.
    I guess this is because the event is not thrown from the backend or because the IP address, port, path prefix is wrong. Can somebody tell me what are these values?
    I would appreciate if someone who has already done something similar would share his / her emotions.
    Thanks,
    Balázs

  • Changes in webservices while migrating from Oracle App Server to WebLogic

    Dear All,
    I am developing webservices for a external users.
    I am new to webservices.
    We were using Oracle Application server to deploy the webservices.
    The architecture was as mentioned below
    1) A interface class
    2) A Implementation class for the above interface class
    Now we are planning to migrate from Oracle application server to Weblogic Application server.
    I have few doubts about the migration,
    1) Will there be any difference between Oracle specific WSDL and WSDL created by Weblogic ant build command
    2) As our external parties are referring our SOAP requests ans responses for their implementation, i am concerned about the changes in the SOAP request and response formats. Will there be changes due to application server change?
    Oracle app server - Oracle 10g application server version 9.0.4.0
    Weblogic appl server - Weblogic application server version 10.3.0.0

    Now after creating the WSDL by Weblogic workshop. The previous request XML is not working.
    Can someone help soving the below query.
    We are in process of upgrading the Oracle 10g application server version 9.0.4.0 to Weblogic application server version 10.3.0.0. In the old application server we were using axis specific jars to create the WSDL for the webservices. There are so many third party applications which are accessing our webservices, so we can not change the wsdl, clients accessiong the webservices and the corresponding formats of request and response xml messages. So we need to deploy the same wsdl and for the same we need to deploy axis on to weblogic 10.3. Can you please help us regarding the same.
    Qns
    1 - If we can deploy the axis on to the Weblogic 10.3
    2 - Can we use the same WSDL in the Weblogic server too.
    3 - If we use the same WSDL, will it help us to keep the client accessing the webservices, the request xml format, response XML format the same as it is with Oracle 10g application server case.
    4 - Please share how to deploy axis on to the Weblogic 10.3 application server.
    5 - Please share how we can create EARs that can be deployed on the webserver using axis specific jars.
    Thanks and Regards
    Manoj

  • How to throws exception from subprocess?

    Hi,
    I use subprocess in my process and I need throws exception from subprocess to my main process.
    Thanks for help.
    Jakub

    The only to throw an exception from a sub process is by leveraging the Exception event (from the event view).
    You need to throw the exception, by dragging the Exception event and choose Throw into your subprocess. Then you need to add an exception "catcher" in the parent process to catch the Exception.

  • I can throw exception from a catch

    Hello,
    I have created a new Exception : myException (for example).
    and, i can't throw it under a catch bloc !!
    My code :
    public myMethod( ... ) throw myException {
         try {
              if(true) thorw new NullPointerException("test nll pt");
         } catch(NullPointerException nullPt) {
              if(true) throw new myException("toto",nullPt.getMessage());
    this code doesn't want to throw "myException" from the "catch" !
    Why ?
    myException extends the class Exception.
    Thanks.
    maxx.

    First, I assume you didn't cut and paste the code, as what you have there won't compile. Can you 1) paste the actual code and 2) be a bit more specific about what's happening?
    Aside from a couple of misspellings, I don't see why it wouldn't throw myException. Is it not compiling? Running but not throwing any exception? Throwing a different exception?

    I thought you were getting a class cast exception but the stack trace shows
    a NullPointerException on line 38 of your servlet code. I am not sure if the
    code that you have attached is the complete code or just snippets of your
    complete code. Anyways, counting 38 lines in the code you attached points to
    the line "mr =
    mh.create(request.getParameter("login"),request.getParameter("name"));"
    which could be because "mh" is null. Can you verify "mh" is not null and
    also "objRef" is not null.
    Attaching the stack trace for ClassCastException would be useful.

    Hope this info helps in solving my problem. Do i have to mention theconnection
    Pool name anywhere in the xml descriptor or am i missing anything here. iguess
    Connection Pool name is not required since we are mentioning the JNDI namein
    the xml descriptor. Bye for now.Awaiting your reply.

    It is unlikely that your xml descriptors can cause class cast exceptions.
    How did you install the servlet? Can you attach the servlet code that
    might
    help. Also complete stack trace of the exceptions would be helpful.

  • Migration of weblogic 8.1 to weblogic 10.3..6

    Hi,
    We are planning to migrate  application from weblogic 8.1 to weblogic 10.3..6.
    In weblogic 8 applicaiton was using  simple database authenticator and making use of jars availble in mbeantypes. Could you please let us know whether we can re use same jars in Weblogic 10.3.6? While configuring Weblogic 10.3.6 we are having option of either SQL Authenticator , CustomDBMSAuthenticator  which will be replacement  for Weblogic 8  DB Authenticator ie Simple DB Authenticator.
    Thanks,

  • Weblogic 6.1 to Weblogic 9.2 : Migration Issue

    Hi,
    We have migrated our application from weblogic 6.1 to weblogic 9.2
    However there is one difference while handling unicode data in weblogic 6.1 and weblogic 9.2
    Difference is:
    In weblogic 6.1, When user inputs unicode string in JSP, it is sent to servlet as it is, meaning there is not entity conversion.
    While in Weblogic 9.2, When user inputs unicode String in JSP, it is sent to servlet in html numeric entity format.
    This is creating issues because Weblogic 6.1 enters this unicode data in informix database as it is meaning with out any conversion.
    Whereas, Weblogic 9.2 converts the unicode data in html numeric entity form, and this form is saved in database.
    So the problem is, when a user tries to retrieve the multi lingual string saved in database using Weblogic 6.1, he is not able to view it correctly.
    Where as if the user tries to retrieve the multi lingual string saved in database using Weblogic 9.2, he is able to view it correctly.
    Did anybody faced this issue before? I mean what should be the right approach to solve this problem?
    1. Can we instruct Weblogic 9.2, not to convert the multi lingual string in html numeric entity form.
    2. Since the jsp expects html numeric entity form for displaying data, it is not able to display the multi lingual data properly. Can we instruct the jsp, not to expect html numeric entity, so that it display multi lingual data properly.
    Kindly help.
    Regards,
    Mayank

    Hi,
    We have done some more analysis for the above issue:
    Our application is deployed on two different weblogic servers as mentioned in the first post i.e Weblogic 6.1 and weblogic 9.2.
    One thing that we notice is:
    Application that is deployed on Weblogic 6.1, enters the multi lingual data as entered by the user i.e it does not do any encoding of the data.
    Where as application deployed on weblogic 9.2 stored the data in encoded format.
    So while we can see the multi lingual data correctly on Weblogic 9.2 for the data enetered using this server.
    But since the data enetered using Weblogic 6.1 is stored as it is, it is not displayed correctly on Weblogic 9.2.
    For Example :
    Suppose the multi lingual string entered is : Уважаемые Господа
    So with application deployed on Weblogic 6.1 server it would be stored as : Уважаемые Господа
    while with application deployed on Weblogic 9.2 it would be stored as : &# 1059;&# 1074;а&# 1078;&# 1072;&# 1077;&# 1084;&# 1099;&# 1077; &# 1043;&# 1086;&# 1089;&# 1087;&# 1086;&# 1076;&# 1072;
    Actually there is no space between &# and the numbers but since it was not displaying properly i had to put space in between.
    So when we view string which is added by application deployed on WLs 6.1, on Weblogic 9.2 it is not getting displayed properly.
    Hope this piece of information helps in providing solution.
    Please help.
    Regards,
    Mayank

  • Weblogic 8.1 SP4 - weblogic.utils.AssertionError has been deprecated???

    Hi All,
    My web application has been running great all these years with WebLogic 7.0 SP2. I am upgrading it to Weblogic 8.1 SP4.
    Few classes have the following code snippet:
    throw new weblogic.utils.AssertionError("impossible case: " + idx);
    Here idx is int.
    This code snippet never gave any trouble with WebLogic 7.0 SP2. Now when I am building the application with WebLogic 8.1 SP4 and JDK 1.4, it gives the following warning at the build time:
    [javac] warning: weblogic.utils.AssertionError in weblogic.utils has been deprecated
    [javac] throw new weblogic.utils.AssertionError("impossible case: " + idx);
    I am trying to identify, if this class has been deprecated in WebLogic 8.1, then what is the alternative class which I can use?
    I searched in all BEA documentations, but did not get any reference.
    Can some one help me, if you know about it.
    I would highly appreciate it.
    Thanks,
    Ashish.

    Hi,
    As you are using WLS8.1 It means your JDK will be JDK1.4 and there is a Bug already available with JDK1.4 for the Same issue ... Please find the below link:
    http://bugs.sun.com/bugdatabase/view_bug.do;:YfiG?bug_id=4705373 (For Sun JDK1.4)
    AND
    http://bugs.sun.com/bugdatabase/view_bug.do?bug_id=6373059 (For Sun JDK 1.5.0_05)
    Please try to switch to JRockit JDK.
