Inventory Cube - Historical Movement Data

Hi experts
In the Inventory Cube 0IC_C03 there seem to some problem with the Historical Movement Data. Now I want to execcute the Query by ignoring the Historical Data. My question is
1. How can I ignore the historical movent and execute a query on Inventory Cube.
2. Can i get the correct Closing balance.

Hi,
For 0IC_C03, you can't execute the reports without proper Historical data. If you run reports without proper dataloads, you can't get good results. Because all keyfigures are Non-Cumulative Keyfigures, so you must habe proper data in 0IC_C03. It is not like a 0SD_C03 Cube, here you can restrict Month or day then run the reports, but in case of 0IC_C03, you must have perfect data.

Inventory cube with Movement Type

In standard Inventory cube 0IC_C03 we have added movement type and loaded the data(followed the process exactly as mentioned in the How to handle Inventory management and compressed).
After loading the data materialwise valuated stock qty and value is matching, but when we drill down movement typewise(for ex.101,102 etc) data is not matching with R/3.All 101 movement types showing in negative values.
Do we have to do any changes in the standard routines if we add movement types in the cube 0IC_C03?.We are loading the data based on processing keys as per the standard routines.
Please help me with your inputs.

1)Receipt and Issue key figures already avilable in the cube right?.Still do I have to add in the zic_c03?.
I would like to suggest you to take fields of the cube as it is the fileds available in BF datasource . And any way have those Kf mentioned by you are already in 0IC_C03 cube,so no need to take them here also.
2)If we drill down based on movement type in the report we have to include on receipt and issue key figures?.
In the drill down report , you better take KF 0QUANT_B,0VALUE_LC into columns and Movement type into Rows.
3)We shouldn't look valuated stock qty and valuated stock value based on movement type?

Inventory Cube and Movement Types

Hi All,
I have few changes made to a Zcube modeled after 0IC_C03
1. I have changed the validity to Cal Day, Material (and removed plant form the validity table)
2. I included Movement Type as a characteristics (it will be easy to count by movement types and validation)
I am not sure whether the issue movement type reqlated quantity should be -ve value (but I multiplied the values by -1)
Now,
When I run the query with material, Movement type an cal day I get almost 3000+ records for one material where there is only 160 records are in the cube. the query brings all dates between movement types though the records are not existing in the cube. I am not sure whether it is due to the validity table (just material and cal date).
I have given the key date in the query as well.
Also should we make the issue qty as -ve and receipt qty as +ve and the values the same way?

Hi Swetha,
First check if you have that movement type is present in PSA request at the data source level in BW. If you have it in PSA and not being updated into the target means some transformation or routine is filtering it out during the update. Check the code if it is expected or not. If not present in PSA and present in R/3 check the Init Selections if there are any selective Init from the Data source.
There is no way you can directly update in the report unless you have that record in the backend infocube.
Based on this you can figure out how to recover the missing movement types.

Inventory Cube Optimization.

Dear All,
As I am having the requirement as per the following, need your inputs.
Datamodell:
Inventory Cube 'X1' with data from source system S1 since 2007.
Inventory Cube 'X2' with data from source system S2 since 2007.
Problems:
Queries are defined on X1 and on X2. And the performance of queries are poor due to high volume of data in cubes.
Requirements:
1. In order to avoid the above said problem, I have to create a new cube(History) and move data from X1 and X2 to new cube
(History) with data selection of year 2007 and 2008 and delete the respective data from X1 and X2.
2. Is it possible to do the above said requirement? Regarding the special function of the marker update in inventory cubes and the
calculates key figures?
I have some ideas that we can't delete data in Inventory cube due to the market update concept.
Any inputs and suggestions from your side will be really helupful.

u can archive the dormant data
i.e u can say unused data
create ur report
if u again want ur data back then again reload the data from the sap work directory to the same infocube

Inventory Cube Issue

Hi Experts,
We have created a copy of 0IC_C03 with more no of fields added to the copy cube CIC_C03. We had lot of data mismatch in the earlier stage & now after a long time this copy cube is working fine in production. We have not yet compressed the deltas in the cube.
Now, later there was a field to be added in the inventory cube which takes data from an ODS. For this we created one more copy cube as we didnot want to disturb the inventory cube in production, hence we created one Zcube which is the copy of CIC_C03 with an added field. In the update rules we have a routine which fills with data from the ODS. The CIC_C03 acts as datasource for this Zcube.
My question is:
1) I dont feel that after a month or so, we require the data in CIC_c03 as the same data comes in ZCube. So will deletion of data from CIC_C03 affect my data?
2) The intial data in CIC_C03 are compressed whereas the deltas are not yet compressed. Should the full upload to Zcube take after compression only?
3) Suppose we delete the data from CIC_C03 after 2 months after a full upload is taken till that point. After deletion, the deltas will be coming in CIC_C03, canl these everyday delta be transfeered to Zcube?

Hi,
The note(637927) is saying that the KFs which represents the values of Stock-in-transit (issue, receipt, current) are deleted in the cube . But still the cube is containint the KF which represents the quntity of Stock-in-transit (issue, receipt, current) .
So the deleted KF are :
0VALTRANSST - Stock-in-transit value
0RECCCNSVAL - Stock-in-transit issue value
0RECTRFSTVA - Stock-in-transit receipt value
Available KF are:
0TRANSSTOCK - Stock in transit Qty
0RECTRANSST - Receipt quantity: stock in transit
0ISSTRANSST - Issue quantity: stock in transit
So to find out the value of Stock-in-transit , you will use the Stock in transit. The scenario has to be used in this calculation is same as explained in note:589024.

Inventory cube 0IC_C03 ,Stock on particular date

Hi All,
 We are trying to get the stock on a particular date using cube 0IC_C03 ,but we are unable to get the total stock on a given date.
1)Ex: I want stock on 01.12.2009 ,but in the query output I am getting null values.
I am only getting the total stock quantity on the loaded date for ex:04.01.2010(which is my data loading date in to the cube).
2)And when we restrict 0calday with <=01.12.2009 ,i have to get the total stock till 01.12.2009

Use :

Use the above combinations in New Selections in columns and go it.
For Qty Opening:
New Selection bad drag abd drop following things
0VALSTCKQTY " for Qty
0CALMONTH " for Month and restrict with less then or equalto option variable (single value, user input) and set the offeset
 value = -1 bcoz if user will give 12.2009 , so it will display 11.2009 closing stock, this is opening for 12.2009.
For Qty Closing:
New Selection bad drag abd drop following things
0VALSTCKQTY " for Qty
0CALMONTH " for Month and restrict with less then or equalto option variable (single value, user input) .
In the same way build for Value and other Keyfigures on 0IC_C03.
And
Drag & drop
0MATERAIL
0PLANT " Give some Input Variable.

If it is BI 7 then for BX in in DTP in Extraction Tab you need to select Extacrion mode = NON-Cumulative option.

Inventory data load from Inventory Cube to another Copy Cube

Hello Experts,
I am trying to load Inventory data from the Inventory cube(say YCINV) to a copy cube say YCOPY_CINV(copy of Inventory cube), but the results appear inconsistant when I compare the reports on these 2 cubes. I am trying to populate a fiield in copy cube so that I can populate the same data back to the original cube with the new field in it, I am doing this reload back and forth for historical data purpose only.
I have seen lot of posts as how to run the setups for Inventory data, but my case does not need to perform set up runs.
Does the note 1426533 solve the issue of loading from one cube to another ? we are on SAP BI 7.01 with SP 06 ,but the note specifies SP 07 ?
I have tried note 375098 to see if it works, but I do not see the options as mentioned from step "Using DTP (BW 7.x)" in BI to perform this note
Please advise on whether to go with implementing note 1426533 or is there any other way to load inventory data from one cube to other.

I do not see any setting like Intial stock in DTP except "initial non-cumulative for non- cumulative". I did try using the option "initial non-cumulative for non- cumulative" ,but the results still do not match with the inventory cube data.I do not see the check box for marker in the copy cube (under roll up tab). Please let me know if we can really implement this solution ,i.e. copying from inventory cube to copy cube and then re-loading it back to inventory cube for historical data. Currenlty, I am comparing the queries on these 2 cubes, if the data matches then I can go ahead and implement it in Production, other wise it would not be wise to do so .

Corrupt data in inventory cube

Hi ,,
I have posted a couple of times before with regards to missing plants and corrupt data in our inventory cube.
However , after an initialisation the query shows the correct results,, this continues for a couple of months then it gets corrupted again..
After further analysis ,, we have realised that there is a movement type that is not coming through( 651 - returns ).
I have tested the extractor with rsa3 which proved that the extractor is not picking up that movement type...
I am not sure how to debug this further ,, why wouldn't the standard extractor pick up this movement type,, is there any config that needs to be turned on ?
has anyone experienced this problem before,, any suggestions would be very much appreciated ..

Data from ODS and a Inventory cube

Hi Guys,
We have an Inventory Cube zic_c03, and ODS which has some detailed information like batch level information.
There is a MultiProvider on top of these two.
My question is can we use a cube on top of the ODS and feed that into the Multi Provider.
Will that improve performance on queries.
What are the drawbacks or repercussions I need to understand first.

Hi Murali,
Yes, if you load into a cube from your ODS you can improve performance. I typically load data that can be summarized into the cube and cut out document numbers, line items, etc... If you need the detail, then just jump to a query off of the ODS objects' MP.
The drawbacks are that you no longer get all of your detailed information at the cube level.

Deletion of Data in Inventory Cube -Effect of Marker

We would like to delete some OLD data from our Inventory cube,Will it effect the Marker.If yes, how and is there any way out where we can find out where the marker has been set i.e upto what request or to which date,any table which stores the marker update or method by which we will come to know as to where the marker is set.Suggest apart from running the Report which has non cumulative KFs.
Scenerio.
I have loaded data for 4 month,(say Jan,Feb,March and April ) in Inventory cube,say each month one request so 4 requests all together. I will compress all three OLD requests (for Jan ,Feb and March) which r OLD and I keep the latest uncompressed (April). The compression happens with Marker update only(Without the Check).we are running the report to check the change in values.
Suppose if I delete data of Feb, Will my Marker get Effected ???

I think, this you can check in /BI0/L0IC_C03. For each plant/material (validity determining characteristic) you will have two record maintained in this table. The record with request SID = 1 will tell you when the marker was last updated for that plant/material.
I think, all the marker values are stored as reciept cumulative key figures with 0CALDAY as 31/12/9999. Check, if this is the case in List cube/ Efact table(not sure on Efact table though).
Deletion should not disturb the marker value if the restriction of material and 0CALDAY is given.
This will avoid deletion of the marker value, which I assume is stored in 31/12/9999.
Also, ensure that you are not deleting the values which have not been used in Marker calculation,(dates greater than dates when the marker was last compressed
Suggest you to check the whole deltion in Quality or make a copy cube in production and work on repairiing it.

Data Update Error in Inventory Cube

Hi All,
I am able to Load the data from InfoSource 2LIS_03_BX in the inventory cube, but when I tried to Load data from InfoSource 2LIS_03_BF in the Inv. cube, where thing seems to be fine QM Status is also Green but the data is not getting updated in the cube.
What can be the reason for data no getting updated in the cube.

Move data bpc cube to bw cube

HI friends,
i want to move data from bpc application(cube) to bw cube. could anyone explain methods.
Is transfer of data between bpc applicaions via badi, can it be used for above purpose?
There is export data mgr package, which transfers data from bpc appli to file service and then from file service to cube, how can achieve this?

i'm using export transaction data mgr package(/cpmb/export_to_file) to upload data from bpc cube to flat file(file service). I succesfully uploaded data to file service(ujfs). when i used
1. Download document optioni: system storing in zip file format and when open it, it doesn't have data. why text(.txt) file is empty?
2. Download document DM optioin: sytem downloading in CSV file format and data is available in it.
Next how can i upload CSV file from file service to bw cube in automated fashion? Any suggestion pls.
I tried one more data mgr package (/cpmb/export_to_appl)which can move data from bpc cube to application server. When i executed this package, system asked necessary parameters. Next how can check file in application server? what is transaction code in bw?
how can i automate moving data from file on applicaitoin server to bw cube in automated fashion?
In above both packages, when executed DM package: system asking "pls select measerus and given four options periodic/ytd/qtd/signed data and system allowing only to select one four options. Why are these 4? i selected singeddata.

I would like to move data from bpc application(i.e bpc cube) to bw cube. Bpc cube having infoobjects starting with /cpmb/* and bw cube having infoobjects starting with y* .
I want to write badi code to move data from bpc cube to bw cube? is it possible to move data via badi in our case?
I know through APD its possible to move. Any suggestions pls. we are on bpc 75 nw sp04
