Inventory Synchronization OPM and Discrete INV

Hi, Fellows
I guess someone could help me is some issue. I using OPM 11.5.4 and when create a new item in OPM, that item is not capable to be retrieved from the Item Master form in INV Module.
This is a strange behavior, cause the item is shown in LOV of Item Search. I select the Item, but it a message of Query retrieve no search appears
Could someone help me in this issue? I look at metalink but no information is provided about Item synchronization
Thanks is advance

Pieter,
I have been implementing Financials, OPM / Order Managment and some CRM for a Snackfoods company.
I don't know of any documents that describe what you require but I can describe Inventory in OPM/Discrete as follows:
As I am not sure of you experience with OPM and Discrete Inventory I will explain a few points (all relevant to 11.5.7 OPM Famliy Pack H)
Inventory Orgs in Discrete are equivalent to Warehouses in OPM. If an item needs to be received into the same inventory Org and that Org is process enabled the item must be defined in OPM. All items defined in OPM are Syncronised to Discrete Process enabled inventory org as long as they are select in the Organisations screen.
Formula's = OPM Items
Production = OPM Items
Quality = OPM Items
Purchasing / Receiving = Discrete Items
Order Management = Discrete Items
Manufacturing Accounting Controller = OPM Items
Move Orders = OPM Items
In direct answer to you question
Production-formula = OPM Items
Non-production-formula = OPM Items
Stores = Discrete Item (Initially created in OPM)
Non-production non-formula = Discrete Item (Initially created in OPM. Possibly set to Non Inventory).
All these answers assume that these items will need to reside in the same warehouse (Inventory Org). If items reside in a separate warehouse and none of the transaction listed with OPM against them are required these items could be placed in a Discrete Inventory Org that is not process enabled.
Hope this is of assistance.

Where can we find a document or white paper to explain which inventory module (OPM / Discrete) is used for which item type (production-formula, non-production-formula, stores, non-production non-formula, etc.).

  • ISupplier Forecasting, sales order demand and current INV levels?

    Hello,
My organization is considering implementing Oracle iSupplier. In playing with this in a test environment, I see that sales order demand and inventory levels are not pulled into the forecast. All I have been able to do is a blanket release against the blanket agreement and the qty that I put on the release is passed to the supplier side of the application. Is that it? I was hoping to have a more sophisticated calc on demand. Do I not have this setup correctly in me test environment?
    Thanks
    KPP

    >
Our need is to include the demand from sales order and current INV levels. Is that "do-able" with standard PO's? >
There is no way to translate demand from Sales orders into PO automatically. You have a couple of options
    1) Use ATO / back-to-back order functionality. That will create a Requisition / PO whenever a order is booked. And the PO will be visible in iSupplier. However, this will NOT look at onhand.
    2) Run min-max planning. This will automatically create requisitions / PO when your onhand falls below required minimum. You can configure this to optionally look at open sales orders. Once the PO is approved, it will show up on iSupplier.
    Hope this helps,

  • Request for comment - inventory synchronization

Representing product manager for zed E-Commerce I'm inviting anyone who is familiar with Web tools to provide feedback on the following proposed functionality.
Inventory synchronization in web tools in the past has always been a point of contention and now that we can move forward with features and enhancements to the product we would like to gain your insight on how you would like to see this functionality improved.
Currently in web tools there is a calcuation that is done upon every synch between B1 and Web tools that determines the value that is used to show whether an item in web tools is "out of stock".  This has several implications, one being that the item is then displayed on the customer facing site with a warning icon and text is shown on the checkout page indicating that an item is out of stock.
The calculation that is run is On Hand - Commited + On Order. Meaning if you have 10 items on hand, 11 of them have been ordered by customers, and 4 more are on order to be delivered from a vendor the number shown in web tools will be 3, and the display of the item will not show "out of stock" on the site.
One of the things being considered is having the option of using this query as it stands or to use an alternate query of On Hand - Commited and not include On Order, because the timing of the On Order items might be weeks and it is not preferrable to take orders when there is no in house quantity on hand.
Another option would be to have the ability to choose if when an item is out of stock, to automatically make it unavailable on web, which is a UDF on Item Master, thereby hiding it from display on the commerce site, and if a user has it in their cart, they must remove it before checking out(current functionality)\
    Let us know your thoughts,
    Thanks

    Hi Bryce,
Certainly from my experience so far no customer wants the count  / availability flag determined on the basis of available stock in B1 ( On hand - customer orders  + supplier orders ). I have had to customise the count to exclude the supplier orders in order to provide a 'free stock' figure The option to select the calculation method would be welcome.
It may be useful to consider whether some options can be built into the availablity text which is currently based on the above figure. The 'In stock' and 'not In stock' is limiting and confusing as it is currently based on 'available stock'.
These days it is much more common to find some gradation and you might want to consider some mechanism for allowing options depending on the stock count for example:
not in stock    ( based on free stock )
less than x     /   low stock please call for availability ( where x is at or below minimum stock )
sold out   / y  in  z days ( where y is supplier orders and z is based on lead time)
The option to remove an item based upon the free stock would also be welcome although I have not yet been specifically asked for it

  • "error while trying to synchronize Audio and MIDI"

    Hello All,
Just got Logic 8... installed (as upgrade from 7)
    I keep (consistantly) getting this:
"error while trying to synchronize Audio and MIDI" when in play or record mode... has anyone any ideas regarding a 'fix' or maybe even to point out stupidity on my part re settings; I'm open to comments here and would obviously love to get this fixed/sorted out.
    System is basically: G5 Dual 1.8/OS 10.4.10/MOTU 828 Mk2
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
I first did what the manual was telling me but that made no difference as the sync would drop within 5 to 15 bars... very frustrating.
Since my original posting I have spoken with MOTU regarding this Audio/MIDI sync problem. There is evidently a simple reset that needs to be done (that is if like me you are using a MOTU 828 Mk2 interface), you have to toggle through both digital input and output settings in the Audio Control Panel. The problem then goes away.
I hope that is helpful. I think that this probably is relevant to all MOTU interfaces, or is at least worth trying if you are having this problem... maybe other manufacturers too... ?
    Cheers, Kick

  • Inventory Audit Report and Inventory G/L Account discrepancy

    Good Day!
Hi Everybody. I had experienced a discrepancy between the Inventory Audit Report and Inventory G/L Account.
Before everything else, our client does not have any PO, GRPO. Only A/P Invoice and A/P Credit Memos so there are no difference being posted.
There were also no transactions posted directly in Inventory G/L Account but from observation, there is a minor difference. This only happened with two transactions in AP Invoice with Negative Quantity.
The AP Invoice is composed of a single item, the unit price is 180.00 x -58 pcs quantity. Total amount is -10,440.00.
    G/L Account posting is
    Inventory 10,440.00
    A/P                       10,440.00
In the FIFO layering, the item cost is 200.00 (based on the current stock value) and the current stock quantity before posting is 80 pcs . Since this is a negative quantity A/P Invoice, it seems that the cost of the item when the transaction will be posted is  200 (based on the current stock value) so when I view the Inventory Audit Report amount, it says the inventory cost/posting is -11,600 (200 x -58).
But on actual G/L Account, the posting is -10,440.00 from A/P Invoice, that's why the inventory discrepancy occurs. It seems that SAP B1's Inventory Audit Report confuses the FIFO cost posted versus G/L Account's posted based on the document. Since the document is A/P Invoice, SAP B1 assumes that the transaction will post the amount as the additional inventory cost and posting the inventory cost into Inventory G/L Account. However, since this is a negative document, the system is releasing the items, thus, FIFO kicks in. The Inventory Audit Report catches the amount based on FIFO costing. The problem is that the Inventory Audit Report is more accurate than the Inventory G/L Balance.
Any suggestion to fix this guys?

  • Why can not freeze book inventory Storage location and Posting block?

    Hello,
I tried to freeze book inventory storage location and posting block at storage location level in SAP.
    1) OMBP -> "Freeze book inventory storage' is checked at that storage location.
    2) MI01 -> the 'Posting Block' and 'Freeze book inventory' in the Physical Inventory Document  is checked.
    3) Post the Physical Inventory Document by using MI02.
But, I am still able to post inventory movement at that storage location after executing the above.
(I run MB1C with movement type 501 at that location.
I input the material number which are in the created Physical Inventory document.
The posted manterial document is created after I run MB1C.
The document date and the posting date in MB1C are the same date of Physical Inventoery Document.
I can see this material inventory movement from MB51!! )
My question is:  Why SAP is allowed to execute the inventory movement after the 'freeze book inventory storage location' and 'Posting block' are checked at OMBP and MI01 ?
    Any idea?
    Help me, thank you.

  • Error while trying to synchronize audio and MIDI.  Sample rate 42804 recognized.  Check conflict between Garageband and external device.

Sometimes, while playing back my software instrument songs, I get an intermittent pop-up error message, saying "Error while trying to synchronize audio and MIDI.  Sample rate 42804 recognized.  Check conflict between Garageband and external device."
(Sometimes the five digit number is different, but remains a five-digit number beginning with "4".)
Simultaneously, the song stops until I press the "Okay" button in the pop-up window.
When I continue to play the song, the sound is jerky and clipped, and the playhead doesn't keep up with the song, and then suddenly jumps to the part of the song currently being played.
There's also a sound of static.
The issue seems to occur whether or not I have my MIDI controller turned on and plugged into my desktop Imac.

Check conflict between Logic Pro X and external device. ????????   PLZ HELP

It means you are overtaxing the CPU, likely with just one (3rd party-)software instrument plugin. Ignore the word "external", in this context it often means "3rd party plugin".
So what synth is it? Since you're Dutch, it's probably one of the trancy dancy synths, such as Albino, Diva, Sylenth or Massive... I could be wrong though...
The best way to avoid this message is to Freeze the track with the guilty synner - however, a frozen track cannot be edited, so if that is a problem, you will have to make the synth itself run lighter, which can be achieved by turning of internal effects that are ON the synth itself, especially reverb.

  • How to solve: Error while trying to synchronize Audio and MIDI.

The project consists of an hour long DVD of a play which I have loaded into Logic ( on a MacbookPro) and stripped the audio
and cut it up into regions  to name the different parts of the play ( verse/music etc)
Usually I am able to play the project with a small window showing the Movie and watching the audio in the back ground adding markers and notes.
Most of the time this works fine.. but then I get the following message re-occurring every few seconds:
"Error while trying to synchronize Audio and MIDI.
    Sample Rate 26848 recognized.
Check conflict between Logic Pro and external device"
There is no MIDI, there is no external device, the Sample Rate is the usual 44.1
Can anyone explain how to stop getting this error message which keeps interrupting workflow?

  • LogicPro 8 "Error while trying to synchronize Audio and MIDI"

    Hello,
My rig: Dual 2.5 GHz PowerPC G5 3.5 GB DDR SDRAM. OS X 10.4.11. Logic Pro 8.0.2, Motu 828mkII interface, emagic Unitor 8 midi interface, Makie Control Universal, 7200rpm Firewire 800 Hard drives.
I Just launched a Logic Pro 8 session that was started a few days ago and when I click "Play" there is no audio from the recorded tracks coming through the speakers. All that comes through the speakers is a series of hi pitched (roughly 4k to 6k) beeps and then an error message: "Error while trying to synchronize Audio and MIDI". I've tried restarting everything and still get the same results. I tried switching audio device to "built-in audio" instead of the motu and that works fine, (the tracks play back correctly).
I've also tried other sessions that have different sample resolutions and bit depth and I also tried reseting all midi drivers.
All sessions produced the same results, "Error while trying to synchronize Audio and MIDI", and played correctly when using built-in audio device. It's looking like the problem is with the motu.
How can I trouble shoot this?

Sounds like the MKII needs a reset.
You can reset the 828 MkII to default settings in the following way (as provided from the MOTU support page):
Follow these steps to restore the 828mkII to Factory Default Settings.
Disconnect the firewire cable from the 828mkII
    Press the Setup knob
Turn the Setup knob all the way to the right
    Press the Select knob
    Press the Value knob
Power off the interface and plug the firewire cable back in
    Power the interface back on

  • Solution for "Error while trying to synchronize Audio and MIDI" and "System Overload" messages

Article for those who hate Logic error windows
Seen in Logic Pro 9.1.7 on Mac OS X Lion 10.7.4
and Logic Pro 9.0.0 on Mac OS X Snow Leopard 10.6.5
    Logic Pro:
    System Overload.
The audio engine was not able to process all required data in time.
    (-10011)
Error while trying to synchronize Audio and MIDI.
    Sample Rate xxxxx recognized.
Check conflict between Logic Pro and external device.
The search in the help given as follows: overload occurs when you use a lot of tracks and a lot of effects on them, and the synchronization is lost when the selected MIDI track for recording or playback. Yes, this is all that is written in the resources. And here are useful tips that have been found:
The Bounce function allows the entire instrument track to be recorded as an audio file. This bounced audio file can then be used (as an audio region) on a standard audio track, allowing you to reassign the available processing power for further software instrument tracks. For more details, see "Bouncing Your Project."
You can also make use of the Freeze function to capture the output of a software instrument track, again saving processing power. For details, see "Freezing Tracks in the Arrange Area."
These tips - about the timing. About overload - there are no tips, except as "reducing the number of plug-ins" and "increasing latency". Zero useful tips - I got two errors in the test project with a blank audio track with no effects, MIDI drums and standard synthesizer, it was no aux buses, and the entire project was only a single plugin in the master track.
Here is the configuration of my computer:
    iMac12, 2
CPU: Intel Core i5 3,1 GHz
    Memory: 4 GB
And here's a project that almost immediately stops Logic, all instruments and plug-ins with the init-patch, ie not the most demanding settings:
    It's sad.
When this happened the first time, I could start the project only if the empty audio track has been selected, a track specially designed so that you can at least start the project. Then, this problem has evaporated along with the changing conditions of work and I forgot about it until the last case.
I was looking for the cause of the problem in the console and the system monitor for two days, and finally I found that Logic ping to the network frequently. I remembered the exact time of occurrence of the problem, and system logs revealed that the problems began immediately, as soon as I deactivate the service of the Internet.
Solution: enable the Internet, or add a new network service on a computer with no Internet. I just created the Ethernet connection to the ip address 1.0.0.0
    Logic immediately began to sing.

    Hi gabaghoul
Yes, it worked for me on four different OS and Logic versions (10.6 - 10.8 and 9.0 - 9.1.6)
It does not work in some cases, hard enough to tell in which one, but you can try, it very easy: go to the net settings and create new Ethernet connection to the ip address 1.0.0.0 and connect LAN cable to the port.
Also you can try to figure out what happens in your system while Logic error occured - fot that you just start Console and search "logicpro"
Pay attention to repetitive events in a console and events with suitable timing, not so far from error
The problem may be related to the GUI or system memory, sometimes turning off Safari (or Chrome, others browsers) might help.

  • GarageBand: Error while trying to synchronize Audio and MIDI.

This error recently started popping up for me while using garageband.
GarageBand: Error while trying to synchronize Audio and Midi
    Sample rate xxxxxx recognized

When I use garageband, my input and output are usually set to my scarlett 2i2 interface and I've never received the synchronizing error before today.  I am not using any Midi.
I've checked the Audio Midi Setup tool to make sure that my format is at 44100.0Hz and have set the "sound" in system preferences to use my scarlett 2i2 interface for input and built-in system for output.
Can anyone help me out with why i'm receiving this error?

Good grief!  I'm on a Mac OS X and was having this same problem.  All these discussions about so much technical jargon just had me exhausted ... not only did I not understand what was being referred to, but I couldn't imagine how to do what was being said.
    Here's what got me straight:
    1.  Go to System Preferences and click on Sound
    2.  Click on Input and select your USB mic (or whatever you're using)
    3.  Click on Output and select Internal Speakers
Done.  No more problem with Garageband!
