  • Invoking PDF file from Forms

    We had a requirement in Oracle 10iDS to invoke PDF file from the Application form .I am trying to do that using client_host('AcroRd32.exe D:\temp\abc.pdf') which is not working ..
    I have webutil configured as well ..
    Can you some one suggest me on this
    Many thanks
    Sareen

    Sareen,
    If the PDF is on the client:
    web.show_document('file://D:\temp\abc.pdf', '_BLANK');
    If on the Application Server, then create a virtual directory (for instance docs/):
    web.show_document('http://server.com:7778/docs/abc.pdf', '_BLANK');

  • Invoking a function in a loaded swf file

    Hi,
    I have a SWF file which loads an additional SWF file, in the following method:
                var loader:Loader = new Loader();
                loader.contentLoaderInfo.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE, onCompleteHandler);
                var request:URLRequest = new URLRequest(swf);
                loader.load(request);
    I want the parent (containing) SWF to call a "boot" function on the child SWF, so it will tell it what is the name of the LocalConnection that the parent is "connected" to. (The reason that the name of the LocalConnection is not fixed, is because I need to support multiple instances).
    Any ideas?
    TIA,
    Vince

    function onCompleteHandler(event:Event):void
         callLater(callBoot);
    Function callBoot():void
         Object(loader.content).boot();
    Note that you'll need to keep a reference to the loader in an instance variable and not a local variable

  • Android kitkat issue in loading swf file from device. URL found but not working

    Hi,
    I am facing one issue from a very long time regarding file access in Android Kitkat version 4.4.*. I have developed Adobe Air player application for android and it is working as expected below kitkat version but not on kitkat.
    I am following this methods -
    NativeApplication.nativeApplication.addEventListener(InvokeEvent.INVOKE, onInvoke);
    public function onInvoke(event:InvokeEvent):void
                                        var newFile:String = String(event.arguments[0]);
                                        trace("Received new file from Android: "+newFile)
    Received URL form device in Android Kitkat -
    /storage/emulated/0/.iProfData/swf/playListFiles/ContentCreation/Ma_V2_522/en/Animation/27 031_1_Welcome screen.swf
    file:////storage/emulated/0/.iProfData/swf/playListFiles/ContentCreation/Ma_V2_522/en/Anim ation/27031_1_Welcome screen.swf
                    -  Loading this URL using loader class in AS3 AIR but not working.
    file%3A///storage/emulated/0/.iProfData/swf/playListFiles/ContentCreation/Ma_V2_522/en/Ani mation/27031_1_Welcome%20screen.swf
           - Have used also by doing escape character but still it is not working showing file not found both SWF and mp4 case. (Mp4 case NetStream.Play.FileNotFound)
    By using the above methods I can have swf or mp4 video url but when I am loading it, It is not working giving error message "File not found/ IO Error". I have read that if use escape character then it will work but I have used escape character also but it is not working.
    Humble request you to please advise how can I solve this issue.
    Best regards,
    Sunil Kumar

    Starting in KitKat, Google requires that applications have permission to access files on the system. You must specifically add either the READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE or WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE permissions in order to access files. Adding either one of those permissions should let you read/access files on the device. Prior to KitKat, you didnt have to have these permissions listed in the manifest to access files.

  • Swf files appearing in preview (D8) but not n browser after uploading - frustrated!

    Hello,
    I have worked with Flash and Dreamweaver on the side for a
    number of years. We all know that after the recent changes, the way
    it handles object and embed tags has changed to favor Java
    actionscripts instead.
    This code I am about to paste was created using Dreamweaver
    8.02, with transitional (x) html. Now mind you, this is not the
    prettiest piece of code you've ever seen. I now am learning to use
    CSS layouts instead of layers/tables, with php and flash
    integrated. This one example is not the only time I have had this
    problem however.
    I made a silly flash banner (its actually a placeholder for a
    better one I have to develop) for testing purposes and sizing. It
    appears fine in Firefox, and IE6 in the preview mode via
    Dreamweaver. When I upload it all to the site, the flash banner
    does not appear.
    I have tried copying the FLA and SWF files to the root folder
    (the fla, swf, and html files generated are all present), and tried
    a number of variations in the code and parameters to no avail. The
    darn thing just won't appear now. Similarly older pages I have
    created that Dreamweaver now prompts you to "fix the object tag
    that may not work in IE7...etc" have the same issue. If I select
    "go ahead and fix them for me", they are visible in production, but
    gone after uploading.
    Now to remove the possibility that this was a layering or
    parent tag issue of visibility, I created a blank HTML page and
    "insert/media/flash" and stuck the banner in there, then uploaded
    it to my server. It doesn't appear.
    I need help. I have been scouring the web for a few days now
    to no avail and have become quite frustrated with what used to be a
    really easy integration of Flash and html.
    Here is the top chunk of code from the page in question: (the
    page is live with the missing banner here:

  • I am unable to execute swf file present in server on local machine.

    Hi all,
        I am a newbie to Flash and ActionScript 3.0 platform. I don't know whether this is the correct place to post this kind of queries/problems/issues here. Till now, I had posted only basic flash issues here in this forum. I feel this is the most powerful issue which created head-ache to me till now. I spent nearly 4 hours working with this issue. But, I don't find any solution even in google.
        I have created a swf file, which when gets executed, gets data from backend database and displays as items in Combo-box. In swf file, if we select an item from Combo-box, collects data from database and gets back to flash and displays them as items in Combo-box. Each item has a specific image(.jpg file)associated,which gets displayed on stage of flash file(.swf file) upon selected from combo-box.
        I am calling/invoking the flash file, When I click on a Button/select a tab created within my Java application.But,when the button gets clicked/tab gets selected, Combo-box is visible in flash file, but with no elements when we try to click upon it and the following error is getting displayed in a dialog-box:
    Title of the error is: An action-script error has occured.
    The error messsage is:
    Error #2044: Unhandled securityError:. text=Error #2048: Security sandbox violation: http://localhost:8888/com.mymdworld.Application/DynaAccess.swf cannot load data from http://www.example.com:8080/servlet/getviews.
              at DynaAccess_fla::MainTimeline/DynaAccess_fla::frame1()
    Also, the dialog-box contains two buttons namely, "Dismiss All" & "Continue" buttons.
    Please, I request anyone to help me regarding this.
    Actually, What is going on internaly? & Why for is this error?
    Please, spend 2 minutes of your valuable time in filling the reply to this thread.
    I will be waiting for your replies...
    Thanks in advance...

  • Playing SWF files in FLV Player

    Hi,
                   I would like to know whether swf files can play in an FLV Player or not. If not possible, is there any option for developing an independent swf player. If so, please tell me the technique that can be used to develop swf player.
    Regards,
              Sreelash.

    Thank for your reply friend. I understood what u said. Actually the requirement for the client is to stream swf file as streaming flv file. So I think, in the server side we have to use converter. I meant, if the client put the swf files in the server, the server side program calls the converter before streaming to the client side.
    The functionality what I meant is following:
    1) The client request for an swf file.
    2) In the server side, it is placed as swf files.
    3) Then, programmatically the server side code invokes the converter and convert the swf file to flv file before          streaming.
    4) This is what I meant the use of converter.
    I hope you understood what I meant. Can I have your mail id please. Because in forum not everyone reply for the doubts. Also I am the only action script programmer in my company and I have only 5 months experience. My mail id is [email protected]
    Thanks and Regards,

    Hi,
    I have a similar requirement where I need to show the preview of a document in a popup.
    I have a button and I added "af:fileDownloadActionListener" into the button, then I wrote the following code in my bean for the downloadactionlistener:
    public void showPreviewDownloadListener(FacesContext facesContext,
    java.io.OutputStream outputStream) throws IOException{
    DCIteratorBinding agr = getBindingsForDCB().findIteratorBinding("xyz");
    Row row = ag.getRowSetIterator().getCurrentRow();
    String fileName = (String)row.getAttribute("FileName");
    String fileType = (String)row.getAttribute("FileType");
    BlobDomain file = (BlobDomain)row.getAttribute("FileData");
    try {
    InputStream inputStream = file.getBinaryStream();
    byte[] buf = new byte[1024];
    int count;
    while ((count = inputStream.read(buf)) >= 0) {
    outputStream.write(buf, 0, count);
    inputStream.close();
    outputStream.flush();
    outputStream.close();
    file.closeInputStream();
    docPreviewInlineFrame.setSource(fileName);
    //ADFUtils.setEL("#{pageFlowScope.docSource}", "../"+fileName);
    ADFUtils.invokePopup(docPreviewPopup,true);
    catch(IOException ioex) {
    ioex.printStackTrace();
    when I'm clicking my button, all it does is open a popup to view/download the while.
    My own popup (with a dialog and an internalFram in it) does not get invoked at all.
    Also the file that I'm referring is from DB, can anyone also suggest me how to set the source for the inline frame if the file is from DB?
    Thanks in advance,
    Swapna

  • Creating IPA file with Multiple SWF files using ADT

    Iam successfully able to create ipa files using the ADT package but my next requirement is to create an IPA file with multiple swf files.I think it might be easy if your SWF files are regular the tough part is my swf file has lot of action script in it so the only option is to through the command prompt and using the ADT package of Adobe AIR.So now i have 10 SWF files like this and iam creating ipa file for each swf seperatly but now I want to put all of the swf files into one ipa file.Please let me know if i was not clear in my description

    I think you are trying to explain how to load two swf's one with action
    script and loading an other swf file which should be non action script.If
    you read my requirement carefully.I have all the same type of swf's and
    these swf are automatically created as a form of output for xcelsius dash
    board software.Iam capable of creating individialu ipa files from these swf
    files.So when I try to combine the same kind of swf files the first error
    its giving is the file name which I have used in the xml.in the main file
    name for the swf file its not considering the two swf file name in the
    initial window.so the adt package in the command line is not understanding
    the file name from the xml and the command prompt and giving error this swf
    file does not exist.So please consider how to combine two swf files with AS3
    into one ipa file.These swf files are not editable,Let me know if you find
    any idea to achieve this

  • Window.print() not working for swf file in webpage?

    I have used the javascript window.print() function to print a webpage. But when i click a button to invoke this function the swf file stops then the screenshot is taken and then it resumes playing,, thus resulting in a blank page to be printed... What to do??

    Since it is not clear what your intentions are for wanting to print the screen, you could try just using the Print Screen of your keyboard (pc) and then paste the resulting screen capture into an image using Photoshop or Fireworks.

  • Need to resize a SWF file

    i need to resize a swf file thats 800 x 300 down to 600 x 226
    how can i do this without having to set the new parameters in
    the embed tag like this <embed src="banner.swf" height="226"
    width="600"> ..??
    is there a way to resize the whole project when i export the
    swf file or something.
    i made my project a lil to bigger than i needed and have
    already imported a few other swf files into this main banner swf
    project so i need to resize everything down now..
    How can i do this..??

    What format is the file in before you export to SWF?
    What program are you using to convert your file from its
    current form to SWF?

  • Searchable Text in SWF file

    I am creating an interactive document in InDesign and exporting it as a SWF file.  I would like the text in the SWF file to be searchable text.  Do I need to set up the document a certain way to achieve this?  Can I create a search button within InDesign that will allow this to happen?  Is there an add-on you can use to have the search option available within the flash player?  I would greatly appreciate any knowledge and help regarding this issue.  Thanks!

    No, there´s no such feature in InDesign. Actually the text InDesign exports, if use SWF as a format, is quite a mess. Words are splitted to separate characters and it´s not even closely in searchable form.
    3rd party finalizing tool for SWF files exported from InDesign - eDocker - can however create a simple keyword search for you document. Search is still in beta feature but it works if you just need to have a textfield where end-user can write a word or phrase to search for. After clicking search button, he/she will receive a list of search results, which are also links pointing to those pages where actual results are.
    Check for instance this link:
    http://www.nypa.gov/AR09/annualReport09.html
    Try word empire and you will get few results to pages where that word can be found.....
    You will find eDocker here>>

  • Swf file causing rollover images not to work

    I've inserted a Flash file into my webpage in Dreamweaver and it broke all my rollover images.  Even deleting the swf file and reinserting the rollover images doesn't work.  I've read a few threads on this but can't quite find exactly what I'm looking for.  I think it's something in the <head> code but I'm not sure.  Any help would be much appreciated!

  • Protecting EXE, PDF and SWF files from piracy

    I am hoping others in the community have some experience with protecting their Captivate output (EXE and SWF files) from piracy.  We will be selling our eLearning products developed with Captivate through our online store and want to protect them against file sharing and other forms of piracy.  I have found several companies online offering DRM (digital rights management) and SAS (software activation services) that require users to enter a license key to use the products.  I am looking for any recommendations from users who have implemented these types of services.  What provider did you use and what issues did you encounter.  Any insights would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks,
    Jason

    Most of the tools I have seen are geared towards extracting
    resources from swf's. I use one myself (eltima.com) for
    "harvesting" manufacturers content for my motorcycle dealers. They
    are authorized to use this content, but finding someone at Yamaha
    of Kawasaki or any of the majors who even knows where to find these
    resources is next to impossible. I have also used it to learn from
    by viewing scripts, but as you say, at the end of the day, I think
    the concepts and best practices are about the only thing worth
    taking away from others efforts, not the code.
    Unlocking a protected file can be done as well and I remember
    using a product over a year ago to get at the scripts within an swf
    (I wanted the URL's that pointed to media - it was legal for me to
    do this). It ran from the command line and output the scripts.
    There aren't too many of these types of programs to be found, but
    they exist.
    My personal opinion is that it's not worth the effort. My
    java classes can be decompiled and if someone wants to go to that
    trouble, more power to them. To my knowledge, there isn't anything
    out there yet that is perfect for backwards engineering an swf into
    an MXML file, but a competitor of FLASH Decompiler says that they
    can decompile Adobe 9 PLAYER swf's. For what it's worth, I plan on
    posting the majority of my code on my flexdev.org site once I get
    it established.
    For people who make components for sale, this could be an
    issue of stolen revenue if the decompilers get sophisticated enough
    to reverse engineer the swc into a usable MXML file. I would be
    against anyone who stole code for this purpose, for sure.
