Invoking main method from cmd line (deployed as web app)

I have a application deployed as a web application (war file).
I want to create a regular java class with main method so that main can invoked
on a command line.
The main method wishes to share resources (DB connection pool etc) with the rest
of the web application.
Is it possible ? and how to invoke the main method inside the war(not jar) ?

Hi,
if you deployed this to OC4J, open EM
http://server:port/em
and get to the Web service. You can execute it from here to see if generally this is working, or if you have a proxy problem only

    Security Violation: User: '<anonymous>' has insufficient permission to access EJB:
    In the 6.1 client, I've established a WebServiceProxy and set the userName and password to the proper values, but I can't seem to get past the security.
    If there something special I need to do on either the 8.1 securing side or on the 6.1 accessing side to make this work?
    Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

  • Invoke beanshell methods from java

    Hello
    I'm learning beanshell and using it to write scripts that are ran in JDK 6.
    My question is how to invok beanshell methods from java source codes.
    My codes is:
    import javax.script.*;
    public class InvokeFunctions {
    public static void main (String[] args)throws ScriptException, NoSuchMethodException
    ScriptEngineManager sem = new ScriptEngineManager();
    ScriptEngine bshEngine = sem.getEngineByName("beanshell");
    String script = "public void sayHello()"+"{print (\"sayHello() is a method in bsh script\");}";
    bshEngine.eval(script);
    Invocable inbshEngine = (Invocable)bshEngine;
    inbshEngine.invokeFunction("sayHello");
    I defined a method "sayHello()" using beanshell, but i just can't invoke it in Java.
    I got an error msg said:
    Exception in thread "main" java.lang.IllegalAccessError: tried to access method bsh.NameSpace.getThis(Lbsh/Interpreter;)Lbsh/This; from class bsh.engine.BshScriptEngine
    Any one has any idea about it?
    Thanks

    Look at the Javadoc documentation of IllegalAccessError. It says:
    Thrown if an application attempts to access or modify a field, or to call a method that it does not have access to.
    Normally, this error is caught by the compiler; this error can only occur at run time if the definition of a class has incompatibly changed.
    Maybe recompiling all your sources (make sure you delete all existing *.class files) will help?

  • Invoking java methods from C/C++ on the machine with different JREs

    I implemented Windows NT Service instantiating JVM and invoking several java methods. Everything works but I have an issue with running the service on the machine where multiple different versions of JRE have been installed. The service is calling java methods that require JRE 1.3 or later so I wrote the code that is setting system PATH from within the service based on the configuration stored in the external file. The problem is that the service requires jvm.dll to be in the PATH prior lunching it since this library is instantiated through the implicit linking. When I put jvm.dll in the same path as the service binary I can lunch it but JNI_CreateJavaVM fails and returns -1. This happens even if JRE 1.3 is in the system PATH prior lunching the service.
    Everything works if the system PATH contains references to JRE 1.3 and jvm.dll is removed from the service's directory.
    I am looking for an advice on what is the proper way to deal with invoking java methods from the C/C++ executable in the environment with different versions of JRE.
    Thanks, Kris.

    Here's a way I have done what you are asking about:
    What you want to do is make all of your linking happen at runtime, rather than at compile time. This way, you can edit the PATH variable before the jvm.dll gets loaded.
    Following is some code that I used to handle a dll of my own in this manner. You can decide if you want to write a "wrapper" dll, or if you find it simpler to approach the jvm.dll in this way.
    // Define pointer type for DLL entry point.
         typedef void JREPDLL_API (*EXECUTEREQUEST)(char*, Arguments&);
    // Set up path, load dll, and pass everything off to it.
    HINSTANCE javaServer = javaServer = LoadLibrary("jrepdll.dll");
    if (javaServer != NULL) {
    EXECUTEREQUEST executeRequest = (EXECUTEREQUEST)GetProcAddress(javaServer, "ExecuteRequest");
    if (executeRequest != NULL) {
    if (argc == 1)
         // Execute the request.
         executeRequest("-run", args);
    else
         // Execute the request.
         executeRequest("-console", args);
    Here's some code for how to edit the PATH:
              // Edit the PATH environment variable so that we use our private java.
    char *appendPt;
    char *newPath;
    char *path;
              char tmp[_MAX_PATH];
              // Get the current PATH variable setting.
    path = getenv("PATH");
              // Allocate space for an edited path setting.
              if (path != NULL)
                   newPath = (char*)malloc((_MAX_PATH * 2) + strlen(path));
              else
                   newPath = (char*)malloc((_MAX_PATH * 2));
              // Get upper part of path to desired directories.
              strcpy(tmp, filepath);
              appendPt = strstr(tmp, "dbin\\jreplicator");
              appendPt[0] = '\0';
    sprintf(newPath, "PATH=%sjava\\jre1.2.2\\bin;%sjava\\jre1.2.2\\bin\\classic", tmp, tmp);
    // Append the value of the existing PATH environment variable.
    // If there is anything, append it.
    if (path != NULL) {
         strcat(newPath, ";");
         strncat(newPath, path, (sizeof(newPath) - strlen(newPath) - 2));
    // Set new PATH value.
    _putenv(newPath);
              free(newPath);

  • Is it possible to invoke JEB method from thread?

    Hello everybody!

    thread.start();
    Exception:

    java.lang.NullPointerException
    I am not able to create EJB instance from the thread. The same code works well in servlet. Am I doing something wrong?
    May be there are some different approaches to implement some operations asynchronously at EJB level do not using JMS and MDB? J2EE specification prohibits to use threads inside EJB so the only way I see is to create different thread on servlet side and invoke EJB methods from it. But it seems that this doesn't work too. Could anyone help me?
    Thanks in advance,
    Vadim Lotarev

    If the passcode will not work, the only alternative is to restore the phone as new. You cannot change the passcode from the lock screen.

  • Running a main Method from another class??

    Hi,
    I am trying to run a main method from another class, eg the main method is in Class1 and i am trying to run it from class2.
    So I have
    class1 c1 = new class1();
    c1.main();and I get the following compilation error:
    clas2.java:42: main(java.lang.String[]) in class1 cannot be applied to () c1.main();
    any ideas on how to do this correctly
    thanks in advance,

    Hi thanks for the replies,
    tried just passing a string earlier and that just gave errors too, I should have been more specific and pass a string array.
    Its working now thanks again.

    No, it should still run. It's what shutdown hooks are for, cleaning up, eg: database connections, in the case of unexpected shutdowns. Not foolproof, by any means, though. Pulling the power cord won't run them, for obvious reasons

  • How to invoke action method from mail contained link

    Hello,
    my application needs to send mails to users that include links for the user to click on. Something like www.mysite.com/displayData.jsp&id=123. My question is now how I make JSF invoke the respective method in the backed bean to display the data with the id 123 when the user clicks on the link int the mail.
    I wonder whether there is some kind of "catch-all action" that checks whether the user is logged in and authorized whenever any JSP page is invoked. I'm a bit tired of first checking the authorization of some user before processing the remaining part od the backed bean's action method.
    Thanks for any hints,

    I wonder whether there is some kind of "catch-all
    action" that checks whether the user is logged in and
    authorized whenever any JSP page is invoked. I'm a
    bit tired of first checking the authorization of some
    user before processing the remaining part od the
    backed bean's action method. You can try out a Servlet filter for doing this.

  • Error auto-deploying a Web App (.WAR file)

    Hello,
    Weblogic 6.1 throws a FileNotFoundException about 10% of the time for me when
    auto-deploying a Web app. Has anyone else run into this? I searched the newsgroups
    but didn't come up with anything, so I thought I'd start here.
    My build/deploy cycle is managed by an Ant build file that creates a WAR file
    of my web application and then drops it into $WL_HOME/config/mydomain/applications.
    Occasionally when I do this, I get the error shown below. Originally I was building
    the WAR file right in the ../applications directory, so I thought that might be
    an issue. So, I started building the WAR file in a staging directory and copying
    it into ../applications. No luck. Next, I tried deleting the original WAR file
    from ../applications, and THEN copying the new one over from the staging directory.
    Still fails occasionally.
    Let's see. This is Weblogic 6.1 on Win2K. The only other thing is that my dev/build/staging
    environment is on a network share, and it's from there that I'm copying the WAR
    file to my local machine (where WL is running).
    If someone has seen and/or knows what is up with this, great. If not, it's not
    a show-stopper.
    Thanks!
    Cheers,
    David

    Michael,
    This is a problem with 6.1 SP2 also -- a very annoying error. Without auto deploy
    working properly, developers are spending alot of time waiting for WebLogic to restart.
    HELP!!! we need this fixed.
    I see the EXACT same stack trace (ERROR).

  • OC4J shuts down servlet in web-app A during deployment of web-app B ?!

    Hey all,
    We have a web-app A deployed to OAS 10g that contains a servlet with <load-on-startup> set to 2.
    This servlet loads fine when the app is deployed.
    However, when we deploy web-app B to our server, we notice in the logs that the destroy() method on the above servlet is invoked in web-app A! After web-app B is finished deploying, the init() method on the above servlet in web-app A is fired again.
    What's going on?
    Thanks.

    I have posted this on the JDeveloper forum and been pointed in the direction of this discussion as it seems I am experiencing the same problem.....
    I currently have an instance of the OC4J 10.1.2 standalone (current production version) server running, and am deploying 5 servlets to the same server. Once they are all deployed they all run fine without any problems at all.
    However, if I need/want to make an update to one of these 5 servlets and then redploy it the server, the server effectively restarts terminating any open sessions that users may have on any of the other four servlets as well (i.e. users are forced to login again to the particular servlet they are using).
    Is this a bug in the OC4J 10.1.2 standalone (current production version) server? or have I not set something in the deployment profile for each of these servlets/applications to prevent this from happening?
    All advice/suggestions would be gratefully appreciated as soon as possible.
    Thanks in advance
    David

    I have created a web application and have a jsp host.
    I have 2 questions:
    1-How do I deploy to the host. please explain. is this host a 3rd party? if so, ask them.
    if the host is tomcat running on a machine that you have control of, create a WAR file and put it in the /webapps directory.
    >
    2-I also want to add a tomcat realm and have been
    told to edit the server.xml file and web.xml file you should not edit the server.xml. just put a WAR file in the /webapps directory. no need to edit server.xml.
    web.xml is part of the standard web app deployment. your app should have one, and it needs to be in the WEB-INF directory.
    are these found on the host??
    please offer a confused guy some helpYou should read "My First Web App" on the Tomcat page.

  • *Please*, how do i run from cmd line??

    I've written a program using swing, on JBuilder6 Personal, and when i run it under JBuilder it runs perfectly. But, how do i run the program from command line? I've tried adding those PATHs and CLASSPATHs but still i can't run the program. I've tried copying the java.exe program to the directory where my classes are, and tried running it from there, but still i had problems. It always says something like "Exception in thread "main", and a lot of other msgs.
    Also, i can't find any swing.jar file in my disk. Shouldn't i have it? On some sites people tells you to put the swing directory on your autoexec, but i don't seem find this directory. (Well, having it or not, the program runs *perfectly* under JBuilder, like i said before).
    Please, this is driving me crazy, i'm tired of searching on the internet for help with this problem!
    Just some extra notes:
    - I got Windows 98 SE on my computer
    - Here's how i'm trying to run the program: java PainelPrincipal (where "PainelPrincipal" is a .class file and it's got a main method)
    I'd appreciate *any* help,
    Victor.

    Here are the error msgs i get:
    Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: PainelPrincipal (wrong name: chat/PainelPrincipal)
    at java.lang.ClassLoader.defineClass0(Native Method)
    at java.lang.ClassLoader.defineClass(ClassLoader.java:486)
    at java.security.SecureClassLoader.defineClass(SecureClassLoader.java:111)
    at java.net.URLClassLoader.defineClass(URLClassLoader.java:248)
    ... (more +- 6 lines like these...)
    These are the msgs i get when i execute:
    java PainelPrincipal
    and "java.exe" is on the same directory as PainelPrincipal.class and all my other classes.
    When i tri to run java.exe not from the same directory where my classes are i get this one line msg error:
    Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: PainelPrincipal
    Well, that's it, hope it'll help you to help me.
    Victor.

  • Error while invoking ContactQueryPage method from contact.wsdl

    Hi All,
    Could any one provide me the java client for OnDemand webservice (contact.wsdl). I want to query ContactQueryPage operation.
    I am facing some problem while making a call. I am trying with both Axis call as well as ContactStub. but its not working in either way.
    Here is the snnipet I am using to invoke a method using ContactStub
    String endpoint = "https://secure-ausomxdsa.crmondemand.com/Services/Integration;"+jessionId;
                   ContactStub stub = new ContactStub(endpoint);
                   ContactWS_ContactQueryPage_Output queryOutput = null;
                   ContactWS_ContactQueryPage_Input queryInput = new ContactWS_ContactQueryPage_Input();
                   ListOfContact listOfContact = new ListOfContact();
                   Contact contact = new Contact();
                   queryInput.setListOfContact(listOfContact);
                   queryInput.setUseChildAnd("Contact");
                   queryInput.setPageSize("10");
                   queryInput.setStartRowNum("1");
                   queryOutput = stub.ContactQueryPage(queryInput);
    When I run the program..I get following exception :
    org.apache.axis2.AxisFault: com.ctc.wstx.exc.WstxUnexpectedCharException: Unexpected character '"' (code 34) in DOCTYPE declaration; expected a space between public and system identifiers
    Can any one help me out. Its needed urgently.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Sanjay

    Hi !
    From what I see, the only problem is the setUseChildAnd function which is waiting for a true or false argument and not a char...
    Hope this will help, feel free to ask more !
