Hello to all my readers.I am still using my Apple G4 1.25 Ghz MDD running Leopard 10.5.8 with iTunes 10.6.3 installed. Can I use an Phone 4s with iOS 5 with this set up? I have read the iPhone iOS 5 user guide and it appears that I can but is anybody actually doing it ? My current phone is a £10 Nokia and I've neither wish nor cash to spend more than a grand upgrading to an intel based machine (at the moment) ! Regards to you all.

If you can find an iPhone running iOS5 and those are the specs for iOS5, there is no reason it should not work.
If you want a more current version of iOS or a more current device, a Windows computer is always an option at significantly less cost.
Granted, there is no requirement to have a computer to use an iPhone.

How do you get passwords to stay valid?? Why do videos from Facebook and mail only play in 1/2 the screen?? I have been forced to Apple by my boss. Before, I had a "dumb" phone (talk, text, pics only) i can't seem to find a users guide that answers my questions. I don't know what category this falls in.                       Is there an"I-phone For Dummies" book/site?

    Didn't you look?

And there's always the manual of course.

  • MY E-mail Setup is different from the User Guide & I do not have a browser option or Icon.

    As per the user guide:
Get Set up on Your BlackBerry Smartphone*
    To begin:
If there’s an Email Setup option on your smartphone’s home screen, click it.
OR in the setup wizard (which starts automatically the first time you turn on your smartphone), on the email setup screen, select I want to create or add an email address.
Click Next, then if necessary, click Update Now.
If necessary, click Create New Account.
To accept the terms of the license agreement, select Yes and click I Agree.
Set up your email addressIf you want to link an existing, supported email address with your smartphone - you will need to
Click Add An Email Account if necessary, or simply type in your existing email address and password.
    Click Next.
If you want to create a new email address for your BlackBerry smartphone (i.e. [email protected]), you will need to
Click Create a BlackBerry email address OR Click I would like to create a new BlackBerry email address.
Type the user name that you want to appear before the @ sign in your new BlackBerry email address.
If necessary, type a password for this email address.
If necessary, select or choose secret question.
If necessary, provide an answer for the secret question you have selected. Click Next
select I want to create or add an email address ( I Dont see this option).
Only option i have is :
    1. I want to use a work email account with a BlackBerry Emterprise server.
    2. I want to skip email setup.
So here i am unable to configure my email account (disadvantage).
Second option i can open my emails thru the brower option, where as here i nither see the browser icon on the phone. (disadvantage).
Please advice as what to do? How do i go about with this?
Its something like having a dead BB.
    Please help.

So what you are saying is that you "have" to sign up for a BB email address?  to get incoming mail from a POP3 like Yahoo?
No that is not how it works.
for your device you need :
a mobile phone subscription (for phone calls & SMS)
    a data plan (for MMS)
a BlackBerry Dataplan with BIS account (for all BlackBerry technologies including receiving emails from any email provider)
in item 3, you can if you like ask for a BlackBerry email (= RIM acting as a regular email provider) but I do not recommend it since the features are less than a normal email provider (you can't view those emails except on your device).

Hi - i cant find anything in these manuals that tells me how to backup the contacts on my phone to my laptop? that option doesnt seem to be available on BB Link
Using Link, by backing up the device you backup contacts. Your backup is made of three separate modules: Settings, Media and App Data. Your contacts are included in the Settings backup.
If you want a Contacts-only backup, try using the third party app "In Touch Contacts" from BlackBerryWorld. It works great to do what you want. I am using it, in addition to my Link backups.

  • English version of user guide for nokia n77i china...

can someone please tell me as to where i can get the english version of user guide of the set "nokia n77i china mobile"... please..

If it's not on the nokia china website then you will need to contact "china mobile" for the user guide.
In other countries there is no such model as the N77i. Are you certain that you have a nokia and not a counterfeit phone?
The N77 was on limited release in some countries and you can find it's user guide here:

  • Why can I not get to the iPhone user guide in Safari ?

Just updated my iPhone 4S to iOS 6.0 last night. There's a lot of new stuff in here that I'd like to figure out. So naturally, I launched Safari on my phone, went to Bookmarks, scrolled down, and hit iPhone User Guide.
When I do that, I get a 404 error that looks like it's coming from a regular website, not from the mobilized site that used to contain the User Guide. This site has been dead all day today.
Is there a new way I'm supposed to be reading the help files on my iPhone under iOS 6.0? Why is the site dead?
For the record, the bookmark leads to help.apple.com/iphone/6/  .

    You have several options:
Go to http://support.apple.com/manuals/#iphone with Sarari on your phone and create your own bookmark; or
Download the free iBooks app on your phone, then download the .pdf to your MBP, import it to iTunes and sync it to your phone by selecting it on the Books tab of your iTunes sync settings and syncing.  The manual will appear on the bookshelf in iBooks and you can tap on it and read it on your phone whenever your want.

  • IPhone User Guide Bookmark Stopped Working

This bookmarked worked a couple of times, now it does not work at all. Simple seems dead. Not sure it is on the phone end, looks like it could be on the server end. Does this work for anyone else?

Very interesting. That link makes one download the pdf file. Originally my phone displayed graphic pages not a pdf file.
If I go to that link from my computer I get the page for downloading the .pdf file. If I go to that page from Safari on my iPhone I get get the graphical user guide I think you are referring to.
Weird that it's not working for you.

  • Where is the iPhone 5 user guide, where is the iPhone 5 user guide

I am trying to search for the manual that comes with the phone thru a tab.  I can't seem to find it does any one knows how to reinstall.

My brother just updated to an Apple iPhone 5 - 4G
He purchased it from his cell phone carrier AT&T.
Since he is older he is having MUCH trouble using it.
He does not have a computer or iPad thus he cannot obtain an online user guide.
Can anyone direct me to where I may obtain a user guide for him that is on DVD or possibly CD?

  • Droid 2 Global Gingerbread User Guide?

Is there a User Guide available for Droid 2 Global with the GIngerbread update?
The info sheet here (http://support.verizonwireless.com/pdf/system_update/droid_2_global.pdf) shows all sorts of "enhancements" but not how to use them.  For example, how do you set up app groups, and what on earth is "Multi-Touch Key-Chording"?
The link to "Device Manual" (http://support.verizonwireless.com/clc/devices/index.html?p=5567&m=)
links to the pre-update (Android 2.2 Froyo) manual.
    Thanks!

DatGyrlVida, if the phone bugs you so much, get a different phone and pay for the change. Your rant and near flaming are not needed here. Your phone frequency problem could be anything, including the junk of apps you probably installed on the Droid interferring with the phone's operations. If you want some assistance on this forum, please describe your phone issues professionally and we can see if we can resolve it together.
And no, I do not work for VerizonWireless.
My experience with my Droid 2 Global is that I had it replaced three times under warranty due to loss of 3G connection, and a reboot could not resolve it. I since then purchased My Backup Pro app to do a complete phone backup, so if I need to replace the phone again (to my SD card or private cloud), I can reimage it. Plus, whenever I install a new app, I do a full backup beforehand so if the app corrupts my phone (or interfers with any phone operation like reception), I can do a reimage on the phone to the previous working state. Uninstalling the offending app does not necessarily remove the junk from its installation. Something for you to consider...

  • IOS6 breaks iPhone User Guide

After upgrading my iPhone 4S to iOS6, the Safari bookmark for the iPhone User Guide produces a "404 Not Found. The requested URL /apps/mobile/2.0/ was not found on this server. Apache/2.2.3 (PU_IAS) Server at help.apple.com Port 80" page.
Note that the URL (http://help.apple.com/iphone/6/) works when entered into the Safari browser on a Mac.

Since the first thing a users might do after installing a new iOS is look at the User Guide on their phone, this makes for a bad first impression. Is this a problem with the phone or with the web server? What is the fix?

At this writing (9/25-8am), this link - http://help.apple.com/iphone/6/ - is still a dead link. I have been able to get an iPhone 5 / iOS 6 User Manual, but cannot find a manual for the 3gs with iOS 6. Apple seems to have removed all the manuals (except iPhone 5 manuals) from their servers. The only available manuals that I can locate are in PDF format, which are useless for practical iPhone usage - you need to have "real-time" access to your manual. Apple should really put back in place the "User Guide" just as it was before the iOS 6 upgrade. Removing the User Guide from the servers is comparable to trashing a paper manual that comes standard with any item...

  • USER GUIDE - ALL NOKIA PRODUCTS

    Hi everybody,
I thought of givining this small note for the benefit of every body who likes to buy a new phone. Please kindly go through.
Some times I feel that people buy a new phone, and then just after try to personalize it without going through the USER GUIDE.
Why I get this feeling is, if u all go through the questions asked by the beginners looks to me are very basic.
Please do not think that every phone model has the same type of settings (may be in the same brand upto some extent)
hence my appeal is first go through the manual one by one keeping u r phone on and check the menu one by one , this will take maximum Two hours if u do it continuously.
So please do this run for the at least once, so that u will realise the value of it and see the difference.
then u can minimize critisising the manufacturer unless u have a very specific problem in u r phone.

  • User Guide (online and PDF) to reflect Belle neede...

A family member just purchased a Nokia E6-00 phone, and after she downloaded the User Guide for her model, she became hopelessly confused, as the information shown pertained to the Anna operating system, whereas she has Belle on her phone. I don't know whether the in-phone Help files reflect Anna or Belle, but it is unacceptable that Nokia should not have updated all of their online and downloadable User Guides concurrent with Belle's release. Many people find a separate User Guide (as opposed to within the phone) much more convenient to use.

Thanks, planb. It took me a bit to translate 'right click' since I'm on a MacBook Pro, but I discovered I need to press the 'Option' key when I click the link to the User Guide/Manual. It does then download, enabling me to open it on Preview and save it.
    Appreciate the help.
