Ipad crashes pc after ios5 installation

I was installing ios5 on my iPad2. Followed the instructions and everything seemed to be going ok. Think I was at the final phase where new installation was being backed up to iTunes on my PC. Looked like it was going to take some time so went off for a while but when I came back the PC had crashed. The iPad will not operate, it just displays a picture of a USB cable and an arrow pointing to iTunes icon. I assume it is telling me to connect to iTunes. Everytime I connect the iPad to the PC the PC crashes. Any ideas?? Any help much appreciated.

Try downloading any free app from the store (as that appears to reset something) and then re-try them - the free app can then be deleted.

Music app crashes constantly after iOS5 update and won't restart.

I have an iPhone 4 that I updated to iOS5 last week. The first time I tried the new Music App, it ran very sluggishly. I then connected it to my JVC car stereo via the dock connector (Made for iPod), and the Music App crashed. After crashing, it just shows a blank white screen when you try to start the app, then crashes again after about ten seconds.
I can delete all the music from the iPhone via iTunes, and then re-add it, which seems to work for getting the Music App working again. But as soon as I try to connect it to the dock connector on my car stereo, it crashes again as previously described. Grrr.

No answers, only wanted to commiserate—I had a similar problem, and now my iPhone 5 running iOS 5 is showing the blank white screen for the Music app every time. No music showing anywhere, even when NOT connected to the dock in my car. I was wondering if the bug was related to the number of songs/size of files (since I have a crapload of music). This has to be happening to others...

I seem to be missing my app store icon from my ipdad after upgrade to Ios5, how do I get it back. I'm unable to dowload apps directly to my iPad

Reboot and see if it comes back.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
Swipe from screen to screen and look for it.
If you can find it any other way - you can reset the home screen layout and it will appear on the home screen. Settings>General>Reset>Reset Home Screen Layout. But if you do this - you will return the home screen to the exact way that it looked out of the box.

First gen iPad having problems after iOS5 update

I have recently upgraded my first gen iPad to iOS5 (and subsequent update) and have had nothing but issues, sometimes to the point of making my iPad unusable with apps that take ten seconds to update (talking about even apple apps so it is not a third party issue), the system freezing up and not responding for well over ten seconds (example of this is while typing), and Safari crashing almost at least once an hour. I have rebooted the system numerous times and these issues have continued. I used to expect problems like this from Windows system, now it looks like I can expect the same from my Apple products as well.
Anyone else having issues like this?

Same problems here. Also browser issues, Safari (the worst), Atomic and Opera. Have tried every cache clearing and reset suggestion I can find. IOS 5 has been a royal pain. 5.01 didn't help anything here.

IPad 2 problem after ios5 update

I have just updated my iPad 2 to ios5 yesterday. Everything was working fine until a couple minutes before when I couldn't click on any apps in the store. I could click on the BUY button but not entering the page to see the details of the app. My partner has the same problem straight after the update. Help please?

I, too, have been having this issue with my iPad 2 and it is quite a nuisance. I have the iPod 2 32gb wifi version.

Ipad screen malfunction upon ios5 installation

I recently tried to upgrade my Ipad 1G to ios5 and the screen turned 3/4 black. Now i'm unable to work with it.
I contacted the support team here in Portugal and they are saying that they have to replace the monitor at a cost of 400€, because I bought the ipad in the UK that only has 12 monhs of warranty, and my Ipad as 16 months. Here in Portugal the warranty is 24 months.
The suppor team told me that they have never saw this kind of problem happened to an Ipad, and they are doing everything that they can not solve the problem just because I bought the Ipad in the UK. They are also saying that the only way to solve this problem is to go to the UK. This attitude is unacceptable for an Apple support team.
As you can see I'm not going to solve this problem here in Portugal, so I would like to know how I can solve it?

Just back from the Apple Store in Central London - after several attempts at a restore, the Genius had to give up claiming it was a "hard drive failure". £300+ for the privilege of a repair after 13 months ... I think not.

ITunes app on iPad crashes immediately after launch, App Store app opens

I know that Ping isn't going to be available to be available until 4.2, but I the iPad iTunes app is still supposed to do something other than redirect to the App Store app right? Is anyone else experiencing this behavior? I've seen other reports of iPad iTunes app crashing under certain conditions, so perhaps this is related to that, I really don't know.
Do I need to restore my device? Will this simply be a non-issue when 4.2 rolls out?

I have exactly the same problem. I had called AppleCare and told this problem. They say to me instantly that the best way is to exchange the iPad directly.
Today I sent to Apple my iPad and waiting now for the new iPad.

Frequent Firefox crashes, even after re-installation

I'm running the current version of firefox on windows 8, and the issues cropping up really have me stumped.
I've had occasional crashes in the past, but lately Firefox seems to be crashing much more frequently. I've installed new security software and run scans for malware, but they didn't detect much of anything. I've deleted firefox entirely and done a complete reinstallation of the latest version from scratch, but the crashes started again as soon as firefox was re-installed, before I could install any add-ons. I've had about 20 crashes in the last 24 hours.
If y'all have any further suggestions, i'd love to hear them; my patience is wearing thin.

great, thanks. all of those look like a crash triggered by your nvidia graphics driver in relation to hardware acceleration in firefox - please try [[Upgrade your graphics drivers to use hardware acceleration and WebGL|updating the graphics driver]] for your model on the nvidia website, or in case this doesn't solve the issue or there is no new version available at the moment, disable hardware acceleration in the firefox ''menu ≡ > options > advanced > general'' (that setting will take a restart of the browser to take effect).

Apps crashing after ios5 update.

I had upgraded iPad 2 to iOS 5.after this many of the third party apps crashes suddenly. To name some of them include , accuweather, toi.
I did deleted all the apps & freshly installed them after iOS5 upgrade. Is this bug in iOS5. Is there any fix?

I have the same issue. This is what I've tried so far and nothing has worked:
1. Downloaded a free app and installed it. I agreed to all of the App Store's new agreements.
2. Rebooted the iPad 2.
3. Logged-in to iTunes while connecting the iPad 2 to my PC.
The only semi-solution is to reinstall all third party apps manually(delete first, then go to the App store and re-install each indivdual App).
They should have found this big issue in beta.
Also, I noticed text looks a bit blurred on my iPad 2 now. When i type 2 lowercase "l"s next to each other, they appear as 2 "l"s.

Do you have iOS 5.1.1 on your original iPad? If not update the iOS.
You might also try quitting the app and then reset the pad.
Go to the Home screen and double click the Home button. That will reveal the row of recently used apps at the bottom of the screen. Tap and hold on the app in question until it wiggles and displays a minus sign. Tap the minus sign to actually quit the app. Then tap anywhere on the screen above that bottom row to return the screen to normal. Then reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously ignoring the red slider should one appear until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. See if that fixes your problem.
Still no joy? Delete the Keynote app, reset the iPad and then reinstall Keynote. You will not have to pay for downloading it again.
