Ipad Scrolling Jerky
Since I did Update ios for my iPad Mini this year my ipad is jerky when scrolling on Safari and twitter plus does not seem quick and responsive as it once was.
what can I do to resolve this to make it run smoothly again? Are there other people having same issues with the new ios?

I play guitar and want to use my ipad to display music and lyrics as I play. I want to set up an external device that I can use my foot to control the scrolling (only) of content on the screen...is it possible? I could build/modify the hardware side (maybe mouse type device?) to work for me, if the app/software side is available...
Found it! There is an app called OnSong that scrolls and pages music on an iPad & a Bluetooth pedal switch system that works with it (for an additional $120). I will really be worth having instead of carrying 10-15 song books and volumes of sheet music!

Why is my scrolling jerky and not smooth?

I just bought a refurbished MBPro early 2013 model. However I noticed that the scrolling is not very smooth when using multitouch scroll, and can be quite jerky, particularly with Safari (I am using Chrome). I have already tried restarting in Safe Mode which didnt improve anything. It's not massively lagging but I feel like it should be smoother, especially with pages like Facebook.

Chrome and some other apps scrolling jerky in Mountain Lion
I note from another site there are seven bugs needed fixing asap. I have most of them after upgrading.
Worst at the moment is the crap scrolling in Chrome and some other apps.
Also losing the pointer bery often
How soo do Apple respond and fix these things normally.
I think Lion and Mountain Lion are brilliant but I didn't think my new commitment to Apple would include these shoddy upgrades.Yep...

I seem to be the first one facing this issue.... but this is absolutely ridiculous!
The iPod in iPad 2 scroll bar doesnt scroll further down properly in the landscape mode of the iPad.
this happens when the "now playing" bar shows down with the image of the song im listening to.
so basically, the playlists are covered by the now playing icon bar, and i am not being able to scroll the list upwards to view the playlists below.
i dont know if i have explained it enough for someone to understand and helpppppppp me as it is irritating! but this is happening on my iPad 2 with ios 4.3.1 (btw: i have already tried a restore)This is a terrible usability bug that crept in circa iOS 4.3.x.
I just posted encountering the same issue at https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3051524 (search engine didn't find your comment until AFTER I posted my problem; either a shortcoming of the new discussions UI or my incompetence with using it).
The best workaround I've found is to create 5 bogus playlists that will always alphabetically sort to the bottom of the list (i.e. "--------------"), never to be used.

Adobe Audition 3
New Dell 9000 Desktop I7 chip 12G RAM 1.5T HD.
When I'm in the edit mode, and I play a wav file or MP3 file, and I zoom in on the
view, the auto scrolling is jerky.
I've tried reinstalling. I've tried different settings and nothing seems to work.
Adobe 1.5 scrolled very smoothly on this machine.
Any advice.

TomI could be mistaken and probably am since SteveG hasn't already mentioned this, but I would be willing to bet it's a hard drive speed issue.
Someone here or over at Audiomasters did a test a while back and proved that Audition 3.0's graphical representation of the waveform is more accurate than some other DAWs and of course that comes at an expense. If I remember the findings correctly, some other DAWs basically guestimate the waveform by piecing together smaller subsets of the actual waveform's graphical rep.
I run a quadcore Q9650 4 X 3.0 ghz
4 GB ram
GeForce 9800Gt video card
and I had the same issue until I upgraded my harddrive to a 10k velociraptor drive. -
Ipod Touch & IPhone Lists scroll jerky
When I am viewing a list of podcasts om my Ipod Touch (not cover art but a list view where I see cover art and the the episode name, the blue dot if it's not yet viewed, etc)
As I scroll down this list it's really "jerky" and does not flow up and down with the same fluidity I see when viewing music lists or even audiobooks. It's kindof annoying. Currently I have about 12 podcasts with a few with more than one episode. Mix of video and audio
Not sure when it first started (Itunes 9.0.1, IPod 3.1.2).
Note: I also have an Iphone 3GS running same OS rev and it also seems to jerk when scrolling thru podcast list. However, it's not as noticeable because the processor is faster on the IPhone
Anyone else see this?I have the same problem with my podcasts screen. It's pretty annoying! I'm eager to see if there's a fix for this.

IPhoto in Lion scrolls jerky and too fast
HI all,
since upgrading to Lion, scrolling through events and photos in iphoto has gotten pretty impossible. Using the trackpad on my MacBook I have to scroll extremely slow if i want to see anything at all. Its not actually scolling as much as jumping a few rows up or down. that would be ok (not great, not very "Apple", but acceptable) except for the fact that the speed is so fast I cant adjust fast enough to see where I am.
The visual effect of movement in one direction or another is totally gone, which makes it look like photos and events are jumping all over the place.
Anyone else have this issue?

I have the big Mac desktop. I do not understand how to scroll through the photos now. This could be a deal breaker for me. Although, being able to view all my iCal appointments in a glance is awesome.

Safari on iPad: Scrolling / Swiping
Why can't I swipe to page through my Safari history, like I can in Lion?
Because the iPad is not the same as Lion. iPad runs iOS.

Ipad will not scroll across in iTunes
I am totally new to dealing with an iPad, and am trying to fix my boss' which is a mess.
We are trying to change stores in iTunes to US which in regular online computer iTunes store is down at the bottom right corner of the iTunes strore.
But on the iPad we cannot scroll across to see anything (including all the other music which you are supposed to swipe across to see to your right).
You can see there are numerous choices to the right but you cannot make the iPad scroll over.
I see nothing in Settings that sets the scrolling abilities.
Can someone please help or advise?
Thanks!When I scroll down and view my AppleID (which I was already logged in) it makes me login again, I do and it says I can't access the iTunes store and that I can only do that in the Portugeuse store, then it wants to redirect me to that store.
Apparently someone set up this Apple ID to only work for Portugal, which is driving us crazy. I cam easily create her another AID to work in the US, but I don't know if this will then conflict with her iCloud storage, which is the "portuguese" one (LOL!)
She has numerous devices (2 iPhones, 1 Airbook, 1 iPad) all in a big mess of a jumble. I'm hoping to make these be able to sync contacts, photos, calendar, music, etc.
Her email is gmail so I can use IMAP for that.

Is there a setting in iPad that controls how your scroll/swipe sensitivity to touch is? or is it standard. It seems pretty sensitve (if you accidently touch anything you launch it, etc) -

The issue that I have is that I have a web object that requires scrolling but when I view multiscreen.html on my iPad I am required to scroll horizontally with my finger to achieve vertical scrolling of my web object, any attempt to scroll vertically just causes the web bouce effect in Safari. If I view the project via index.html on my iPad, scrolling works as expected with vertical scrolling behaving properly and no web bounce.
It seems as though multiscreen.html is getting the orientation of the device confused but that's just a guess. Has anyone else encountered this and if so, do they have a workaround that they can share please?

Ipad 4 with iOS 8: photos are scrolling slowly
I updated my ipad 4 with 64gb on Thursday. It seems to work fine except for the Photos app. When I import pictures onto the iPad from my sd card or take pictures with the ipad, scrolling through them has become very slow. I have to swipe on a picture usually 8-10 times before I get it to swipe to the next picture. Sometimes, I get a partial swipe...where half of each picture will get stuck on the screen for a few seconds. I'm also getting a lot pixelation when I initially swipe to a picture. In about 5-8 second, the picture will become perfectly clear. And...it now seems that I cannot upload a screen shot, from the ipad, of the half of one picture and half of the other.
Don't do it. I updated my iPod touch 5th Generation to ios 8.0.2 and it will keep dropping wifi, and safari has lots of bugs. I suggest waiting to 8.0.3 where we shall see if the update fixes wifi issues for real.

Edge and iPad- creating a smooth scrolling carousel
Hey all,
I am looking at making a demo for something within my ipad. I'm basically loading a website on the ipad.
What I'm trying to create however is a smooth scrolling carousel within the site, something similar to this:

When viewed on a touch device (and even on a pc with a mouse) the images scroll really nicely, elastic - similar to how the ipad scrolls anyway.
I want to create the same within edge. Is that possible? I did try just creating a DIV and setting the overflow to scroll -- that sort of works, although it doesn't have
the elastic scroll properties that I was hoping for - plus sometimes the div scrolls, sometimes the actual website itself moves...
Any ideas/thoughts on how this could be done?

I purchased an ipad 3 and have previously owned an iPad 2. I know the hardware improvements is to only handle the better display.
But what I am noticing is that the performance of the iPad 3 is noticably more choppy than my old iPad 2. www.yahoo.com for example is choppy when scrolling the main headline page. And in other areas like web browsing and the app store, and sometimes even just scrolling the through the icons. It is like it lags when it's loading graphics into memory and then once it's cached then it runs more smoothly.
I will have to take a trip to Best Buy to see if this is normal, but I wanted to ask here as well. I'm just curious if this is normal.I too have this issue. I had an iPad 2, then got the new iPad. I called support shortly after I bought it and the tech I spoke with said I had my thumb too close to the edge and that's what made it choppy. Do they think we are stupid? It happens on any site that is connected to the Internet and please don't tell me I have a poor signal- I don't and it happens any place I'm at. Here's what happens: I open up Safari, Facebook, twitter, chrome, email,iTunes, etc. I scroll down the page. The page is jerky/choppy as I scroll down then it jumps back up to the top. I try to scroll down again, it jumps back up. This happens until finally it seems to be loaded. Then it works ok until I change apps. I sadly upgraded to iOS 6 but it was choppy before I upgraded. When I first started researching this issue, I found others who mentioned this issue. Several people responded that their iPads scrolled perfectly and that they would notice if it wasn't smooth.
The choppiness reminds me of my crossover to the droid. I had had an iPhone and never paid attention to the scrolling until I got the Droid. It was choppy like my iPad 3. Returned to the iPhone and all was well until the iPad 3. After writing this I have decided I am going to call apple support again and be more insistent that this is not normal.

IOS and Android Native Scroll in Adobe AIR
I think it would be a great idea to implement the smooth scroll present in native iOS and Android applications for use in Adobe AIR projects.
Currently, the only way to obtain smooth scrolling lists with images is using StageWebView to show the image list in HTML format, and then awkwardly implement some JavaScript / AS3 communication functionality so the list in the StageWebView is interactive and can communicate with the main program. This is excessively complicated and very error prone (I've found some inexplicable JavaScript errors that only happen in the iPad, not in Android, and not in the PC!).
It would be way better to be able to skip all the StageWebView process altogether and being able to use a simple AS3 API to put any sprite/movieclip into a scrollable canvas which can be moved using the iOS native scroll.
Using Flash animation to simulate the scroll in a list with images is too slow in the iPad and gives a bad user experience. iPad users expect the native iPad scroll, not some poor jerky simulation. A native scroll is the only way to go.
And even though I talk about the iPad, this should be applicable to the native Android scroll, too.
Scrolling is a VERY BASIC action in a tablet, so this should be implemented as soon as possible.
Actually, I'm amazed we're already at AIR 3.0 beta, and still after all this time nobody thought of this. All sorts of fancy stuff is being added to AIR (hardware accelerated video, webcam and microphone access, etc...) but still something as basic and important as a smooth scroll, which every tablet user expects, is still not possible in Adobe AIR. We either have to implement some slow Flash animated scroll, or use the extremely complicated StageWebView with JavaScript/AS3 communication approach (I'm using a third party library called StageWebViewBridge for the JS/AS3 interoperations, which is great, but still, it's a far from ideal solution, since it's pretty fiddly and the JavaScript code doesn't always work properly in iOS).Hi again jackson@mja.
I've given your scroll component a try just for some static texts, and I've found quite a few important bugs:
1. If the referenced sprite/movieclip is shorter than the scrolling area, it starts bouncing infinitely in a quite funny way,
which renders the component unusable. Sometimes it even happens when the content is not shorter.
2. If your component is used inside another sprite/movieclip which is added dynamically from code ("addChild(mySprite);"),
it doesn't work and stops with an error, because the EventListener for mouseDownHandler is being added to this.stage
in the constructor, but a dynamic movieclip doesn't have access to the stage while in the constructor step (unless it is
already in the stage added in the Flash IDE, such as in your FLA example). To fix this, I've added the following code
to the ScrollArea() constructor:
this.addEventListener(Event.ADDED_TO_STAGE, init);
this.addEventListener(Event.REMOVED_FROM_STAGE, close);
And then I've added the following listener functions:

3. Also, the scrollbar is only correctly rendered if the scroll area is located at the up and left corner of the stage. To put text somewhere else, the component must be put inside a movieclip.
4. This is not really important, but I've found the following variables are never user and so I've removed these lines:
