IPad with Retina Display (4th Generation) Factory Unlock

I want to buy iPad with Retina Display from apple website but I can choose only 3 carriers provider. I've read that there are actually not lock and I can use any carrier provider I wish. Is that true?. So instance I will buy iPad from apple website and chose AT&T I will be able to use any mini sim card I want? If so why ppl on ebay use terminology Factory Unlock? Thank for your help guys.

1. Close all inactive apps in the Task Bar. Double-click the Home button and hold apps down for a second or two and tap the minus sign to close app.
2. Try a reset. Hold the Sleep and Home button down for about 10 seconds until you see the Apple Logo

  • Which iPad with retina display (4th generation) with cellular form USA can work in Egypt?

I am confused some people say AT&T are unlocked, other people confrims they are locked. I don't understand. In some countries like Canada, you don't have to choose a carrier. Can anyone confim to me that the AT&T work in Egypt with a local micro sim (I read the AT&T the only which can work outside USA)? Thanks to anyone who can help.

Sorry to thread jack. My question is not about the specifications. I have read them and am familiar with them. Ipads bought in the US are locked to the US carrier you select when you buy them. It has nothing to do with the specs. the Verizon and Sprint ipads have the same specs yet they are carrier locked for use in the US. ATT is the only GSM service in the US but I odnt know if you can just pop in a TMobile sim card for use in the USA. I'm trying to ascertain if ipads bought outside the US have the same limitations. You dont seem to have to choose a carrier when you select them at the uk store for instance so my impression is that they are not.

  • Notifications on ipad with retina display (4th gen)

I got an ipad for christmas and when someone chats me on Facebook it doesn't pop up like on my iPod touch and the same happens with my mail it just has a little number on the top corner of the app icon. Thanks

Check Settings > Facebook to make sure your account is set up.
Then check Settings > Notifications to see if there is a Facebook notification, and, if so, if it's set up as you would like.
    Enjoy your new iPad!

  • What is the difference between Ipad 3rd Generation,Ipad 4th Generation and Ipad with retina display?

Are they all the same things? Can you please tell me the differences and model numbers?

While the 3rd generation iPad also has a Retina display, it was marketed as simply "The New iPad." The 4th generation is referred to by Apple is the "iPad with Retina display."
The latest iPad features the new smaller Lightning connector, Apple A6X processor, support for 5GHz band Wi-Fi and expanded LTE coverage. Externally, you can tell them apart by the 30-pin connector versus the smaller Lightning connector.

  • What are the differences between the Apple 64GB iPad Air with Retina Display and the Apple 64 iPad with Retina Display MD512LL/A 4th Generation

what are the differences between the Apple 64GB iPad Air with Retina Display and the Apple 64 iPad with Retina Display MD512LL/A 4th Generation ?

The iPad with retina display only comes in the 16GB version and it has the A6 processor which is a step down from the Air model. Having said that, I stream movies on my iPad 3 with retina and it has the A5 processor and the movies stream just fine as does everything else that I do on the internet.
If 16GB is enough storage for you, the $100 savings compared to an iPad Air model is a fair amount of money and that might sway me if I was just worried about saving some money. However, that's not my style. I always go for the largest capacity that I can afford and the faster processor if I have the choice.
Having said that, if it were me, I would select the 32 GB iPad Air. But in spite of the information that you provided in which you want to base your decision, only you can be the judge of what will be best for you, and remember that you cannot add storage capacity to the decide later. You can purchase external WiFi drives if you need the storage, but to me, that takes away from having the really small footprint and portability of only having to carry the iPad around gives you.

  • Which generation is the iPad with retina display

Which generation is the iPad with retina display I am trying to buy accessories for it

All of the "full sized" iPads from the iPad 3 and newer are retina display. The new iPad mini is also retina display.
What accessories are you trying to buy?

  • I have an A5X chip iPad with retina display with AppleCare . If my iPad broke would apple replace it with the updated iPad with retina display?

I have an A5X chip iPad with retina display with AppleCare+ . If my iPad broke would apple replace it with the updated iPad with retina display that has the A6X chip?

They will replace your "broken" iPad with an iPad of equal type .... so NO, they will not replace it with a new iPad 4th generation. They will actually replace your "broken" iPad with a refurb, not a new one.

  • Has apple named the the new ipad(3rd gen ipad) ipad with retina display

Has apple named the 3 rd gen ipad ipad with retina display.

The iPad 3rd generation has a retina display, but it was sold for only a few months.  The iPad 4th generation also has a retina display and some of Apple pages refer to it as iPad with retian display. However, most of us in these forums refer to the various iPads as iPad 1, iPad 2, iPad 3 or iPad 4.

  • Ipad with Retina Display - Cracked Screen options

    I have the following Ipad:
Ipad with Retina Display, 64GB, Wi-Fi, Apple A6X Dual-Core Processor.  It was purchased about 6 months ago from John Lewis with 2 year warranty.
It fell about 2 feet in its case and the screen cracked anyway - frustrating and expensive accident.
Accidental is not covered under any warranty - I understand and realise that.  My question is this:
Can I get it replaced for about half the price of the original cost using the Apple 'Out of Warranty' Repair option I have seen mentioned here? Even if I bought it via John Lewis?  If so how much is this model to repair (and yes I know this means replace in reality) ? Can I just turn up in my local Apple Store tomorrow and ask for this option? Or do I have to book an appointment? Or can I do it through Apple Live Chat/support? Which would be quickest option? I am going on holiday on Friday first thing and would like to get replacement ASAP to take with me.
    Many Thanks for any answers.

    Out-of-Warranty Service
If you own an iPad that is ineligible for warranty service but is eligible for Out-of-Warranty (OOW) Service, Apple will replace (Apple doesn't repair) your iPad with an iPad that is new or equivalent to new in both performance and reliability for the Out-of-Warranty Service fee listed below. (The replacement will most likely be a refurbished iPad in a brown box, however, it has a new screen, back and battery.)

    iPad 3rd, 4th generation

  • Is it necessary to have 64GB for the iPad with Retina display.

I am interested in getting the iPad with Retina Display.  I wonder if 32GB is enough, on the iPad 1st generation 16 GB was fine, but with double the resolution I wonder if I should double the size.
Is it worth getting the Retina Display?
    Thanks for your input

The higher resolution is hardly the overwhelming factor that contributes to reduction of storage capacity on the iPad. It is the number of apps, movies, TV Shows and things like that that take up the storage.
I have a 64GB iPad 3 with 170 apps, 2 HD movies, a couple of TV shows, 900 + photos, about 350 songs, several magazines in Newsstand and I have used about 21GB of the storage on the device.
IMO - the retina display is spectacular and well worth it.

  • HT1620 Is my apple iPad with retina display secure

Does my Apple iPad with Retina Display need Internet Security

Do you want to use good practices?  Sure.  Don't splatter your password all over, use WPA or WPA2 networking, don't leave your iOS device unlocked, set up Find My iPhone, understand what makes a bad password and don't choose them, keep backups either in iCloud or on your Mac or Windows box, etc.
Do you need added iOS software — which does not exist for iOS, and would likely not even be allowed into the App Store for sale given what the anti-malware tools inherently have to do — on your iPad?    Nope.

  • HT201471 iPad with Retina display

What about the iPad with Retina display (Not the "Mini") available in 16GB only

Thanks Montana, After comparing the specs they look identical except for the storage capacity, the "iPad with Retina display" is only available in 16GB while the 4th Gen went up to 128GB, seems to be more of a marketing change than anything.

  • Could I trade or rersell the new iPad for the the iPad with retina display

I went back to the US to visit my dad, and I bought the new iPad Wi-Fi + cellular data 32 gb on early July. I came back to Thailand on mid July and stayed there until now. I heard that the iPad with retina display came out less than a year later after the new iPad. I am planning to back to US around early September. Is there a way I could trade or resell my iPad 3rd gen for the 4th gen when I come back? Thank you

Your only option is to sell the iPad and buy a new one.

  • Will there be a trade-in offered for the New iPad and the iPad with Retina Display?

I don't really understand what's going on. I bought The New iPad in early August and was told that it was the one with Retina Display and it was the top of the line. I cannot find a "New ipad" on Apple's website. In fact, the only iPad with Retina Display is one with the lightning connector. I'm utterly confused and feel very jipped. Can anyone maybe explain to me? Where has the "iPad 3" gone on the website? And will I be able to do a trade for the newest considering I just bought it?
    Thanks
    Kelsey

The iPad 4, which is now also called the iPad with retina display, essentially replaces the iPad 3, which is no longer available except as a refurbished product. The naming is confusing, as both the iPad 3 and iPad 4 had a retina display. The iPad 4 has the same price points but with a fater processor, better Facetime camera, lightning connector, and faster wi-fi. As soon as it came out yesterday, the iPad 3 was removed from the Apple store. It has essentially been discontinued.
People who bought the iPad 3 within the last 14 days can return it no questions asked. There are stories about some stores allowing an exchange for the iPad 4 if you bought the iPad 3 within the last 30 days, but there's nothing official from Apple on that, and it seems to vary from store to store. I called my local Apple store, and they said no, but I'm waiting for a call back from a manager to confirm this.
I think you may be out of luck trying to return or exchange it at the Apple Store, but you can look a selling it and putting the money toward a new model. Here's a link to an article with some info that may help:
    http://9to5mac.com/2012/10/24/top-places-to-trade-a-third-generation-no-so-new-i pad-for-cash-or-credit/
Good luck. It's definitely a lousy thing for Apple to do to iPad 3 users.

  • Do I need a screen protector for my New iPad with retina display?

I have a screen protector on my new iPad with retina display, but does this effect the screen display and do I really need a screen protector on?

So I just got my first ever iPad (4th gen) about 4 days ago. I am waitng on a case and have been looking into a screen protector, debating this same question on quality. I have a 3 year old and he is dying to play with it. In the meantime I cannot stress how careful I have been, as Im sure you all know what Im talking about.  Last night I was using it on my lap and my shirt tugged it off, causing me to grab it before it fell. Of course the longest, sharpest nail, caught it for me. Obviously I freak out and hurry to clean the screen to see for damage. I see there is a huge line where my nail caught it, but upon cleaning was no longer there. This nail was sharper than any key I own! So I guess what im going to do is get a complete cover for use with my 3 year old and just a basic one when I use it. Good job apple!
