Iphone 4s background static noise issue !

I paid a lot of $$$ for a miricle device named Iphone 4S.
I got :
1 - Phone that drains the battery for a few hours. ( this will be fixed I guess).
2. A device that gets very warm when used for half an hour.
3. Very, very annoying static ,buzzing noise when using 3G apps.
Many users claim this is a hardware issue. I'm very worried about that. Will a firmware update fix a hardware issue ?
Apple Support, could you explain in details the issue with the static noise in the background please and your action plan for fixing it ?

  • IPhone 3G Static noise due to RF and EM emission and heard at nearby Active

Whenever im using iphone, playing music or talking then there is this huge emission that is captured by any nearby speakers within two feet.
This is actually so bad that i can not even listen to music connected to any speakers because the static ads up the the music, this is very frustrating, I might have to return to apple for another one if this is perticular to my iphone.
My guess is that the iphone is loaded with tons of RF / EM emission not properly shielded or design flaw.
    Genius, wher art thou

Same thing happened to me on a recording session a month ago, Logic 8 and the Apogee Duet.
Thing is I heard this static type noise, it was kind of low, at the time I thought it was just noise on output / playback.
It never occurred to me that this static noise was being recorded.
I don't remember the iPhone being that close, but it was in the vicinity.
Mackie HR 824's are shielded heavily (and would only apply to output playback, not the input), but the Apogee Duet or input cables, I'll bet are not, and the noise got into the Apogee Duet, and it was recorded
Thing is I recognized the static sound right away, as the awful static of the iPhone, when I later played back the recording.
Are you guys saying this does not occur when setting it to 3G, I am going to test that.

  • Recently I've been getting repeating static noise through USB connected devices in GarageBand

I've been using GarageBand for recording for the past year.  Only recently have I encountered an issue with the use of ANY usb connected device.  I'm using a Macbook Pro Retina 15" and the connected devices I've encountered the issue with are a Blue Snowball Mic, M-Audio Axiom 49 Midi Controller, and guitars plugged in via a Rocksmith Cable... pretty much any time I record through USB I get a repeating static noise approximately every 35 seconds that lasts for 2-3 seconds.  The noise is very prevalent and sounds very much like what cell signal noise sounds like.  I tested putting my iPhone into Airplane mode hoping that would solve the issue but to no avail.
I've been using this same exact setup for over a year and only in the last month has there been any problem like this.
Anyone else seeing this problem and does anyone know of a solution... it's pretty much rendered GarageBand useless for recording at this point for me.

Fixed my own problem... if anyone else has this issue and sees this all I had to do was update to ML 10.8.3 and it took care of what ever bug was in the system.

  • Static noise on Zen MicroPho

I just bought the new 8 GB MicroPhoto and I'm a bit dissappointed about the static noise you hear in the background between tracks/during quiet track sections/while no track is playing. The noise is almost compareable to a FM station that is slightly out of tune. It seems to be caused by the color display because the noise changes as the display changes. Previously I had mp3 players from Samsung and Mpio, but none of them had static noise like this, the only noise you'd hear was some clicking from the dri've. Is this common with all Creative mp3 players or only with the MicroPhoto Or, is this totally abnormal and I should return the item?

It's been mentioned before (don't forget to search back) so it sounds like it's an issue for all of them.
Background noise on Zen Micro Photo
Noticeable background noice on Zen micro photo
Creative do seem to struggle with fundamental issues from time-to-time, like the headphone jack on the Micro and Xtra, as well as backlight noise on some of the MuVo players.
They really need a design checklist:
. Does it make any noise with the display or backlight on?
    2. Have we reinforced the headphone jack?

  • Awful Static Noise After Installing GNOME 3

    Hey guys,
I installed GNOME 3 last night and did not notice this until today. After setting the TIMEZONE variable in rc.conf and restarting the computer I am now experiencing a very high pitched static noise that I cannot stand. The static noise is just happening all the time, even when no sounds are playing or anything. I should note that installing GNOME 3 installed PulseAudio for some reason if that makes a difference.

ok, do you know if your time is set to UTC or localtime?  If I'm not mistaken, UTC is recommended.
It sounds like your hardware clock is giving you the troubles.  See here https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Time
You can change the time of your hardware clock via the command line by following the commands in the wiki.
I also noticed that you have hwclock in your deamons array in your rc.conf.  Not sure if that's an additional source of trouble, see the "Common Problems" section of the wiki linked above for more info.  I don't remember the reason why, but I did not include it in my deamons array and haven't had any issues.
Not sure if this is relevant, but if you dual boot with windows see the "UTC in Windows" section of the wiki as well as Windows could be changing your manual time adjustments back to what it wants everytime you boot into it.

  • MacBook Makes odd Static noise ~NOT SPEAKERS~

I have just recently reinstalled Leopard after a hard drive error (possibly caused when I dropped it 4 feet :P), and everything was fine. But I noticed that my speakers weren't as loud as they were and they sounded kind of muffled. Then the MacBook just started making this subtle popping noise, but that stopped after a day, but now it makes this horrendous loud static noise out of no where, and *it is not the speakers* because I turn them down and it still makes the noise. The noise has stopped for now but if I try to listen to iTunes it is VERY garbled. Could this possibly have something to do with the hard drive or disc drive or any kind of hardware issue? Any comments are greatly appreciated!

Just because you turned down the speaker volume but yet can still here the static noise does not mean that it is not coming from the speakers. Since something is damaged or broken you cannot assume that turning down the speaker volume will keep an errant sound turned down also.
Since you dropped the computer from 4 feet the problem could be just about any hardware component, from the hard drive to the logic board.

  • Static noises when calling normal?

i have been experiencing static noises when making phone calls. im the only one who can hear them and not the person im calling.(already confirmed myself.) is the at&t service or is the iphone defected. i hear the static through the normal earpiece at the top(not headset) and in speaker mode. thanks.

    Hi all,
Mine does it too. Has nothing to do whatsoever with at&t. None of my other phones do this.
I have a hiss sound I can hear in my earpiece that kind of overlays each word I speak.
I have posted 2 other threads here and only Allan Sampson has responded and understood what I was describing.
The information I have gathered online points to the fact that all NON 3 G phones have a poor sound quality compared to a 3G phone of any make.
Or maybe some of us just have bad ear piece speakers. If so chalk this iPhone up as bad returned iPhone #5.

  • Consistant Static Noise noise changes when performing actions on laptop, need he

I have a Sound Blaster Li've 24-bit External sound card which I have my DJ equipment connected to. The problem I am coming across is static noise coming through the speakers. The sound is there when the audio board is powered on?or off. I have already did basic troubleshooting and I refered to theKnowledge Base on this site.
Power of laptop is in a different source, soundcard has the latest downloads, speaker cables are fine etc. I want to check the Bios on my computer but I don't think I am that tactful to do this. Anyways, I will cut and paste my message I started on Mediamonkey.com, I am GDTRFB66. I basically wan't to know if there is a filter or a better sound card I can purchase to knock out the interference the computer is making. I Usually only run 2 speakers, sometimes I will connect smaller speakers through my audio board and run it through source. Also the ststic noise is there when I just connect my computer directly to my laptop and it uses the onboard sound card, so I doubt it is an issue with the sound card.
I really would like some additional help here is the post I submitted on Media Monkey......Next Message

  • QuickTime always has static noise while playing audio

Every time I open an mp3 (or any audio file) in QuickTime, it plays a lot of static noise in the background.  These audio files work fine in other applications (iTunes, VLC, etc) so i know the problem lies with QuickTime.  I have tried re-installing it, but the same problem keeps occurring.  Does anyone else have this problem and know what's wrong?  I'm using QuickTime 10.3,  on Mavericks 10.9.5

  • USB Microphone static noise OSX Yosemite.

Same thing as the title recently upgraded from late 2008 iMac using Mountain Lion to a late 2013 iMac using Yosemite and now when I plug in my USB headset into one of the 4 USB slots the microphone is robotic and static noises appear. When I plug the headphones into the Usb slot in my keyboard the mic works fine. Anyone else experiencing this?

What version of Premiere Elements are you using on your Mac computer? Is your USB microphone a standalone or part of a USB web cam type device?
Classically the Adobe ReadMe mentions that USB Microphones do not work with Premiere Elements. Yes, I have seen a report that USB microphone would be expected to work with correct Control Panel and program Edit Menu/Preferences/Audio Hardware ASIO settings at least in versions 10 and 11 Mac.
Please see a thread from last year and its discussion on the matter.
I can't get premiere elements 11 to see my usb microphone?
Some have found a few USB Microphones that do work in Premiere Elements (any version), but those reports are scattered. So to answer your question
will an other usb microphone work?
maybe or maybe not is the best answer I can offer at this time.
For troubleshooting purposes, can you create the narration in a free audio editor like Audacity and then
import that narration into the Premiere Elements project (Add Media/Files and Folders) without issue?
    http://audacity.sourceforge.net/
Perhaps we can encourage Premiere Elements users versions 4 to 13 who use a USB microphone to post in your thread (for informational
purposes) the brand/model USB microphone that has worked for them.

  • Static noise in Game mode on Windows 7

I encountered a very annoying bug/feature after I installed Windows 7 x64, and the latest driver for X-Fi Titanium: 2.7.0007. There is a good chance that the same thing happens on Vista/32bit, because this is not a problem on Windows XP.
No matter what setting you choose in Game mode, there is always some static noise when using DTS Connect / Dolby Digital Li've. You can best notice this listening to some low frequency sounds when the amplitude changes. It took me a while to figure out that it doesn't happen in the Entertainment mode. Not sure if it happens without DTS/DLL.
It looks to me like bad resampling, because DTS Connect / DDL need to mix all sources into one 48kHz output at some point. I remembered the issues I had with the good old SB Li've! when all sounds had to be software resampled to 48kHz for the best quality since the hardware resampler sucked. I tested it by resampling the souce to 48kHz using a HQ resampler, and, indeed, ?most artifacts have gone. The most artifacts are generated by CMSS-3D (anything above 50% generates noise). But even that didn't fix it completely. The only thing that helped was the Entertainment mode.
I'm not talking about noise you can hear using hi-tech equipment. I bet you could notice it using low-end speakers without a problem. Creative should add this to the documentation, or fix the issue. Remember, Game mode is the default.
    Regards.

I read some other threads and I do have 4GB od RAM. I also tested XFI_SupportPack_2_0, and everything works fine there even in Game mode. Plus, DTS Neo PC also works perfectly (it couldn't be enabled with the official drivers).
I don't know if this is funny or sad. :S

  • Static Noise

I posted this on the wrong ipod thread, since I found out I own a 5th gen. Anyway, I've found some threads about the static noise problem in the Ipod classics. I wonder if anyone has experience connecting the ipod to a sound system such as the Kenwood or Pioneer Avic-X3, the latter I now own. These car systems are state of the art, and one of the few systems who allow direct control over the ipod. I wanted the very best, so I specifically bought the Ipod for this purpose.
The problem is the audio quality because of static noise is simply terrible. Even if no music is playing there is a continues buzzing sound through the sound system (probably the HDD) which gets worse when you turn up the volume. turning off the EQ in the ipod makes no difference. Pioneer blames the Ipod, and by checking various threads it seems this is a genuine problem. What advise would you guys give me, is it worth raising this with Apple by going back to the store? I can't believe I spend more then 2000 Euros on this entire system and having this crap quality.

    Hi,
To start with, download and install the latest IDT driver on the link below.
    ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp51501-52000/sp51930.exe
After the installation has completed, restart the notebook and see if this has helped the issue.

  • Static noise in Zuma

    Hi,
has anyone else noticed that while playing Zuma, especially in the higher levels, there is static noise through the headphones whenever the hard drive spins up? It's not just a slight hiss, but a rather loud screeching noise.
Hopefully it's just a bug in the game, not a defective iPod?

Is the static sound noticeable always, or is it more when the volume is up?
Does the static noise seem to vary depending on what you are doing? (moving the mouse cursor, for example)
Was the static noise present immediately when you first powered the notebook on, or was it after using it a bit, or going online?
There is only the one driver on the site for Windows 8.1, but it may be worth reinstalling it.

    mellosteve,
This isn't a known issue with the device so I am surprised that you are having these issues. When you first noticed the issue, was anything else done on the device at that time? Any new apps added, etc? Let's try to put the phone into Safe Mode and test. If it works while in Safe Mode, we will know it could be a 3rd party app causing the static. Here are the steps to put the phone into Safe Mode: http://vz.to/1MrjzMg
