IPhoto on Macbook; Photostream not uploading some pictures

All my iCloud/Photostream settings have been on on all my Apple devices.
However, Photostream on iPhoto on my Macbook are missing some of the pictures that I took from my iPhone for about a month. (Say from Feb-Mar)
All the pictures taken before and after that period are uploaded as usual. I did not change any settings during that period.
The only thing I can think of is that I did not open iPhoto on my computer at all during that period while I use my Macbook. Does this even matter?
Of course my phone&computer had been on wifi network during that period all the time.
What could be the possible reason that iPhoto is not uploading these pictures?

Disable Photo Stream in the System/iCloud preference pane
and in iPhoto's Photo Share preference pane.
Reboot and reenable both respectively. That should jump start Photo Stream.

  • Does not open some pictures at Picasa

Firefox does not open some pictures on picasa where IE opens them all.
This only happens at Picasa, with everyones albums. Only about 1/2 show up and the ones that do not cannot be opened.

It is possible that you clicked "Block Images" in the right click context menu while trying to save an image.
    See:
    * [[Images or animations do not show]]
*A way to see which images are blocked is to click the favicon ([[Site Identity Button]]) on the left end of the location bar.
*A click on the "More Information" button will open the Security tab of the "Page Info" window (also accessible via "Tools > Page Info").
*Go to the <i>Media</i> tab of the "Tools > Page Info" window.
*Select the first image link and scroll down though the list with the Down arrow key.
*If an image in the list is grayed and there is a check-mark in the box "<i>Block Images from...</i>" then remove that mark to unblock the images from that domain.

  • HT201317 Photostream not uploading from iPhone to iPhoto

iPhone photos not uploading to my iMac iPhoto app. Everything is set to on for Photostream on both devices. Camera is shut down on phone. Wi-fi is set on for both devices. Phone shows in Photostream album. Nothing online in Photostream or iPhoto on Mac.

Same problem here!  Just upgraded my iMac (Version 10.8 | 3.06 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo | 4 GB 1067 MHz RAM) to Mountain Lion this morning and all of a sudden my photostream will not sync photos from my iPad2 or iPhone4S to my iPhoto (fully updated) on the iMac.
Yes.  iPhoto has been fully updated.
Yes.  iPhone4S and iPad2 are also fully updated.
Yes.  Wifi is good on all devices.
Yes.  iPhone4S shows photostream working on it.
Yes.  iPad2 shows photostream working on it.
Yes.  iPhoto is enabled and signed in with iTunes account on my iMac.
    And...
No.   iPhoto on iMac will not bring the photos in from iPhone4S or iPad2.
Anyone have any ideas or know of any info regarding this?  Thanks!

Try image capture or a card reader - after the photos are safely on your Mac then use the camera's format command to reformat the memory card

  • Photostream not uploading after network reset

I recently had to do a network reset on my iphone and now I can't get the photostream to upload to mac iphoto.  Any suggestions?

airport utility 6.3 now requires ipv6 local link working on the device using it..
This adds to its all round doggieness.
Apple belatedly realised the new utility doesn't work without it.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4597
    IMHO install 5.6
I assumed since you were on Lion in your profile that was correct.. here is how to install it in Mountain Lion.
How to load 5.6 into ML.
    1. Download 5.6 for Lion.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1482
Click to open the dmg but do not attempt to install the pkg.. it won't work anyway.
    2. Download and install unpkg.
    http://www.timdoug.com/unpkg/
Run unpkg on the desktop.. it is very simple.. drag the AirPortUtility56.pkg file over to unpkg.. and it will create a new directory of the same name on the desktop.. drill down.. applications utilities .. there lo and behold is Airport utility 5.6 .. drag it to your main utilities directory or just run it from current location.
You cannot uninstall version 6 (now 6.3 if you updated) so don't try.. and you cannot or should not run them both at the same time.. so just ignore the toyland version.. the plastic hammer.. and start using 5.6.. a real tool.

  • Photostream not uploading all photos?

Had a problem with my iPhone 4s for a while now, but now it's become a bit more major! I find that not all the pictures I take are being uploaded to photo stream. First off it was only a couple, but after a recent trip I've noticed it's missing out around 100. I've done a search and made sure its connected to wifi, charged fully etc and ive left it over night but still nothing. I've reset photo stream on the device and turned it off and on again, yet still nothing.
It seems to have stopped at a certain point. Then when I tried it again when I got home, it picked up uploading them again. So it's missed out uploading photos from say 13:00 to 22:00 and then carried on after that point.

Me too. It is a real pain. Take 12 pictures outside, go back into wifi range and only 11 make it to photostream and the other devices.
I manage my photos on the mac with Google Picassa. I have an iPhone app called PhotoSync to pick up the ones that go missing. A painful workaround, but I does work.

  • FTP DW5 suddenly is not uploading some images - or at least not showing them on site

    Hello,
Dreamweaver is not uploading new & changed images.
BUT - images that were on webpages before this started happening today are intact, even after I upload the updated page.
What appears on the webpage in place of the image is a blank box with the small 'broken picture' icon, sometimes with the access text description. The images' file names appear in the source coding. Ex. http://www.wnytrauma.org/index20.html
I uploaded my Local Files to the Remote Server, but that didn't help
I don't know enough to figure out if this is a coding error or an FTP error.
Thank you for any help or advice.

There's a lesson to be learned in those statements.
Effective websites aren't about  "look what I can do with javascript" or "check out our post modern quasi digi funkorama hoodlehoo design concept". In general, the most effective sites are developed to deliver the information that their viewers are looking for, to the viewers, in the fastest and most efficient way possible.

  • New iPhone, Photostream Not Downloading All Pictures

I got a new iPhone and my photostream only downloaded some of the most recent photos, not all of them that were on my other phone. How can I get them all back on my phone?

    Hello thebiggfella,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
If you're seeing a different number of photos after enabling PhotoStream on your new iPhone compared to your other devices, then you are likely just seeing what is actually in your Photostream.  Your other devices are showing what is currently in Photostream, and the previously cached photos.
I see different photos in the Recently Added album or My Photo Stream album on each of my devices.
Your device will keep up to 1000 photos, even if they're older than 30 days. Photos older than 30 days are removed from the iCloud server, so your devices might not have the same photos, depending on when you enabled My Photo Stream. Due to storage limitations, your Apple TV might display only your most recent photos.
Use these steps if you want to have the most current photos from My Photo Stream on each of your devices and delete the older photos:
If there are any photos in the Recently Added album (or the My Photo Stream album in iOS 7) that you want to keep, save them to your device, then back up your photos and other data using iCloud or iTunes.
Turn My Photo Stream off in Settings > iCloud > Photos.
Confirm that you want to Delete Photos.
Turn My Photo Stream back on. iCloud will automatically push your stored photos to your device.
Repeat these steps for each device.

  • Iphone 4 ver 6.1.3 photostream not uploading to PC

I have noticed a lot of discussions where after the new software ios 7 was released that photos on devices are not uploading to photosteam on the pc.
I have the same problem but I have not upgraded to the new ios 7 software.  Since mid October no photos have appeared in my Photo Stream on my PC (Win 7).  I also noticed that the folder changed in my Favourites from Photo Stream to iCloud Photos.  I purchased a new ipad mini and noticed that the photosteam worked on that device for the last 30 days of pics.
I have tried all the suggestions I have come across on this board.  Signing in and out of iCloud, turning Photo Steam on and off in the iCloud panel etc.
I was just wondering has there been a solution to this problem.
    Thanks

  • Iphoto not displaying some pictures

For some reason, and this is recent, if I try to display a picture within iphoto, it just shows a doted square with an "!" in the middle. Preview brings the files up just fine. What gives?

    Here's your problem then:
One additional item I need to add that may give you more information is that my wife and I use the same iphoto library with different user accounts in the imac. I have the library located on the users\shared folder and her user and mine have read/write access to it.
This form of Sharing is deprecated in 10.5 unless you're using iPhoto 09 (specifically v8.0.2) What you're having is a permissions issue caused by the ACL's used in Leopard. iPhoto cannot access the version of the Folder it needs.
    You need to either:
    1. Upgrade to iPhoto 09 (v8.0.2)
    or
    2. Change the system of Sharing you use:
    What you mean by 'share'.
If you want the other user to be able to see the pics, but not add to, change or alter your library, then enable Sharing in your iPhoto (Preferences -> Sharing), leave iPhoto running and use Fast User Switching to open the other account. In that account, enable 'Look For Shared Libraries'. Your Library will appear in the other source pane.
Any user can drag a pic from the Shared Library to their own in the iPhoto Window.
Remember iPhoto must be running in both accounts for this to work.
If you want the other user to have the same access to the library as you: to be able to add, edit, organise, keyword etc. The problem here is that OS X works very hard to keep your data safe and secure from the other users. You're trying to beat what's built in to the system. So, to beat the system
    Quit iPhoto in both accounts
Move the iPhoto Library Folder to an external HD set to ignore permissions. You could also use a Disk Image or even partition your Hard Disk.
In each account in turn: Hold down the option (or alt) key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting dialogue, select 'Choose Library' and navigate to the new library location. From that point on, this will be the default library location. Both accounts will have full access to the library, in fact, both accounts will 'own' it.
However, there is a catch with this system and it is a significant one. iPhoto is not a multi-user app., it does not have the code to negotiate two users simultaneously writing to the database, and trying will cause db corruption. So only one user at a time, and back up, back up back up.
Lastly: This method seems a little clunky at first, but works very well. Most importantly, it uses the System to do the job for you.
Create a new Account on your Mac, call it Media. Create an iPhoto Library there. (BTW: This will work for iTunes too.)
Enable Sharing on the Library:(Preferences -> Sharing), leave iPhoto running and use Fast User Switching to open the other accounts. In those accounts, enable 'Look For Shared Libraries'. The Library will appear in the other source pane.
This means that both users will be able to see the pics. If you want to use a pic then simply drag it from the shared Library to your own in the iPhoto Window. This means that each user can have their own edits.
If you want to add photos to the Library: Log into the Media account for that purpose.
To make it all seamless: Set your Mac to log into the Media Account automatically. Set iPhoto to launch on log-in. Then switch to your own account using Fast User Switching.
Net result: a Library that's permanently available to all users but also protected. Each user can have their own versions of the pics if they want.
No partitioning, no permissions issues. Uses no extra disk space. What's not to like?

  • Iphoto not showing some pictures?

Hello. I have a slight problem. Some photos in iphoto will not show up. They are like a grey box with a "!" in them. I just rebuilt the thumbnails and they're still not there. Now I'm doing the longer rebuild. I did save the pictures to a dvd just incase (but this was while the pictures were still gone, so those pics are not saved) But I did not save my videos I have. Is rebuilding something else going to get those pictures back? And if so would I loose anything on my library. (Most importantly, my videos.) Thanks for the help in advance!

The ! or ? turns up when iPhoto loses the connection between the thumbnail in the iPhoto Window and the file it represents.
The most common cause of this is User Activity in the iPhoto Library Folder in the Finder.
Have you altered, moved or renamed anything in the iPhoto Library Folder?
If you haven't, then try rebuilding the database. Hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose the top three options.

  • Trying to buy book. iPhoto says I have not filled some of the frames but I have.

I have finished my book and I am trying to buy. A notice is coming up that says some of the frames are empty and will have to be filled.
I have a picture in every frame so what could be wrong?

    Lindsay,
A notice is coming up that says some of the frames are empty and will have to be filled.
You may have used default pictures, for example a picture background. And you will not see the missing background, if your photo is full page. See LarryHN'S post here:
Re: I am attempting to buy a photo book but it says that I have not filled the photo frames which I have.?? How to circumvent and buy this book? (This is my fifth book and first time with problems.
Also, some of the Themes have captions below the photos. Have you edited all captions? Some of them may still be showing the default entries by Apple.
Compare the Preview of the book with what you are seeing in the Browser, and check for missing photos.
iPhoto '11: Preview a book, card, or calendar before you order or print it
