IR: Selection List in Column Header

Hi,
does anybody know if it is possible to add a selection list to the headings of an interactive report?
I have several columns with frequency fields and want to have the possibility to select in the header of each column the unit (MHz, GHz, KHz, Hz) in which the frequency has to be calculated.
Kirsten

Hi Mermaid0614,
I checked it in MTM 2012, MTM2013, there isn’t the Description option of column in contents view in MTM. I also check it in the web access, there isn’t that column too.
However we could get the description column in the query in MTM.
So, I suggest that you could check the description column value in the query. (Track=>Queries)

  • EText simple List with column header

    Hi,
    is there somewhere in the www how to create a header for each column?
    Col1 col2
    valcol1 valcol2
    Couldn't be difficould, for me it is.?

    Essentially when you are defining your levels, create one such that it will run only once, so typically at some root tag level.
    Then in this new level, define the Headings.
    Below is a snippet of what a tab delimited eText file could be done.
    Obviously since it won't appear in a proper table, you have to think in terms of a MS Word table with the appropriate headings.
    Hint: Define Data Layout
    <LEVEL>MY_HEADER_LEVEL

  • Change Column Header / Column Background color based on a value in a specific row in the same column

    SSRS 2012
    Dataset (40 columns) including the first 3 rows for Report layout configuration (eg: the <second> row specifies the column background color).
    Starting from the 4th row, the dataset contains data to be displayed.
    I would like to change the background color of the ColumnHeader/Column based on the value in the same column in the <second> row.
    How can I accomplish the this requirement? (this must be applied for all the columns)
    Thanks

    Hi Fasttrck2,
    Per my understanding that you want to specify the background color of all the columns/column header based on the value in one special column of the special row, right?
    I have tested on my local environment and you can add expression to condition show the background color in the columns properties or the column header properties.
    Details information below for your reference:
    Specify the background color in the Column header: you can select the entire column header row and in the properties add expression in the Background color :
    If you want to specify the background color for the entire column, you can select the entire column and add the expression, repeat to add background color for other columns.
    If you want to specify the background color based on the value in the specific columns and row, you can create an hidden parameter to get the list of values from the  specific column, specify the Available values and default values by select "Get
    values from a query", finally using the expression as below to get the specific value you want:
    Expression(Backgroud Color):
    =IIF(Parameters!Para.Value(1)="1221","red","yellow")
    If your problem still exists, please try to provide some smaple data of the report and also the snapshot of the report structure to help us more effective to provide an solution.
    Any problem, please feel free to ask.

    Hi,
    It is similar to bug which is raised in Timesten 11.2.2.2.. BUG 13896607 - COLUMN NAME MISSING FROM A VIEW IN TIMESTEN 11.2.2.2 . If you have MOS access then you can view about this bug. The bug is going to be fix in the future release. The bug basically indicates that we are not displaying the column name properly when select list contains complex expressions. The column itself can be accessed and values are displayed correctly.
    Regarding your issue "column TIME_DIFFERENCE not found" , I would suggest you to access the column by position, not by name like below
    I believe you are trying to access your column like below
    resultset.getString(“TIME_DIFFERENCE”)
    Instead of this you can use : -- resultset.getString(2) ( this position should based on the position of the column you are using in the query)
    Hope this helps.

  • Spry select list code to wire it to html data table SET column?

    I am making a page based on Figure 15-14, Pg 878, in David Power's book, "Dw CS4 with CSS, Ajax and PHP. I have two separate html data tables hidden in the page, one for the specialties drop down select list and the other for the teachers master/detail regions. These are populated with php and working well. The spry select list and master/detail regions are working great except for one issue. The column in my html data table that is being filtered ("Specialty" in my code = 'Category' in the book's example code) is a SET column (with possible value of 1, 2, 3, 4, and/or 5). Clicking on the drop down menu brings up the records with a single value beautifully. The result for records with multiple values is a spry error "Invalid row number: 0". After four different versionings and methods of messing with this, I still haven't a clue. Please help me with how to rewire the Spry select list code so that it will read the records that have multiple items in that column. I have included the code below.
    var data_set_teachers = new Spry.Data.HTMLDataSet(null, "teacher_data");
    data_set_teachers.gallery = '1';
    function chooseSet(dataSet, row, rowNumber)
    if (row["Specialty"] == data_set_teachers.gallery) {
       return row;
    return null;
    data_set_teachers.filter(chooseSet);
    function changeSet(set)
    data_set_teachers.gallery = set;
    data_set_teachers.filter(chooseSet);
    data_set_teachers.setCurrentRowNumber(0);
    var rows = data_set_teachers.getData();
    for (var i = 0; i < rows.length; i++) {
       if (rows[i]["Specialty"] == set) {
         data_set_teachers.setCurrentRowNumber(i);
         break;
    var data_set_specialties = new Spry.Data.HTMLDataSet(null, "specialty_data");

    Well I'll be damned!
    What's done in the sample app is, of course, the intuitively obvious choice and is exactly what I started out trying to do the first time round.
    But as I mentioned before, when I first tried it (yes: I'm pretty sure I set the "for" attribute on the inlineMessage components), I got the non-unique component id exception for the inlineMessage component(s) after adding the second (but not the first) row to the page.
    Anyway, after dragging my inlineMessages to the exact same position as those in the AppModel example, now things work fine (except I think I'd like a line break before the message and to change the row/column styles so the values and messages line up properly...the look is rather ugly in the AppModel example when there are validation messages displayed).
    Not sure, but I'm thinking maybe there was an issue with where the inline message markup was placed, my first time through, relative to the data table value bound component and the column header facet?
    I was using the application view drag 'n drop feature the first time round and dragged the inlineMessage component to the spot just below the data table value bound component and hence just above the column header facet. In the AppModel example, OTOH, the inline messages are placed just after the column header facet.
    Of course, I will now try to duplicate the original exception.
    If I can (and it is an issue with placement), I will post back some sort of bug report or RFE. Otherwise, I'll post back declaring what a bone head I've been...;-)
    Anyway, thanks for the quick response, v.

  • Selecting Categorized Message and Clicking Category Column Heading Moves View to Uncategorized Messages

    Greetings,
    We migrated our users Microsoft Outlook 2010 mailboxes in Cache Exchange Mode last week from Exchange 2007 to Exchange 2013.
    ISSUE: Yesterday, one of our secretaries reported that when she selects a Categorized message from her supervisor's shared mailbox and clicks the
    Category column heading to arrange the messages by the specific Category in the message, the messages do not automatically arrange based on the selected message, but instead the view moves to messages that have no Category set at the top of
    the list of messages.
    The interesting thing is that the user
    is able to arrange her own mailboxes messages in that fashion with no such problems.
    Any advice you can provide towards a resolution would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank You,
    LawTechy

    Thank you for your response Allen; however, the issue is not with Tasks, but with Messages.
    For example, if the user selects an email with the Categories "REMINDER", then clicks on
    Categories column heading at the top of the window to arrange the messages.
    (It doesn't matter if they arrange from A to Z or Z to A.) Then the window with the list of messages focuses on messages with no Categories, rather than on the messages with the Categories "REMINDER". The user then has to scroll
    up or down to find the emails with the Categories "REMINDER" and the folder has hundreds of messages.
    I appreciate the suggestions. I will try them and let you know if either works or not. Thank you!

  • Missing option in column header selection in MTM

    One of my team members does not have the "Description" label as a column header in MTM 2012. She can see in MTM 2010, but not MTM 2012. She is the only one with this issue. We've uninstalled/reinstalled several times, but it doesn't solve the issue.
    She has the description field in TFS.
    So if you go under Plan>Contents, you'll see your list of test cases. You right click on the column headers to select which columns you would like to see to your view. The option "Description"  is missing.
    Any thoughts?

  • Column header filtering not functioning for external lists

    I have a problem with column header filtering on external lists, specific for columns of Number and Date types.
    When the site's regional settings are in English (United States) filtering works fine, but if I choose any other regional setting with different number formatting (ie Dutch) then filtering on these columns gives no results.
    When clicking on the column header filter dropdown, the numbers to filter on are displayed with thousands seperators where the numbers in the views are not formatted as seen in attached screenshot.
    Filtering on custom sharepoint list with these regional settings is working fine, it is just on external lists, on number and date fields and regional setting is not English.
    I have tried all different kind of regional settings on the client and the server, but no results.
    Anybody has a clue?
    Clicking on the column header shows all available filter values (with thousand seperator). Selecting one value gives no results:
    No results after selecting a filter value

    Hi,
    According to your post, my understanding is that you had an issue about column filter in external list.
    We can use the SharePoint Manager to change the column type to “single line of text”, then you would filter column in the external list.

    You can add the following to an .xsl file and link to it in the "Miscellaneous" options when you edit the web part. By doing it this way, you can reuse the same style sheet over and over.
    This xsl basically overrides a couple of templates located in the "vwstyles.xsl" file, and removes the lines that add the header.
    (This code works in production, but I may not have replicated it properly in this forum, so please test first.)

  • Excel like 'Freeze column header' functionality in sharepoint OOB list view webpart

    Hi,
    I have OOB external list dropped on a page as listview webpart. It contains many records and hence while scrolling down headers are no available, hence it should freeze all column headers while scrolling down the page. Its directly dragged and dropped
    on site page hence no server side formatting can be done.
    Is there any way we can apply some client side script to freeze column headers to listview webpart while scrolling down? or any settings that can be done to acheive this?
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Rahul

    Hi Rahul,
    Normal techniques for freezing the header row of an HTML table tend to fall short when it comes to SharePoint 2010 lists due to the lack of THEAD elements.
    You can try something like this, although you may want to test it in various browsers in case the column heading alignment is off.
    <style>
    .ms-viewheadertr{background-color:white;}
    </style>
    <script>
    /* wrap the table in a div, set its height, give it scrollbars, and move it down */
    var myTable = document.querySelector(".ms-listviewtable");
    var wrapperDiv = document.createElement('div');
    wrapperDiv.setAttribute("ID","FreezePaneWrapper");
    wrapperDiv.setAttribute("style","OVERFLOW: auto; HEIGHT: 400px; padding-top:38px;");
    wrapperDiv.appendChild(myTable.cloneNode(true));
    myTable.parentNode.replaceChild(wrapperDiv,myTable);
    /* Freeze the header row and move it up*/
    var headerRow = document.querySelector(".ms-viewheadertr");
    document.getElementById("FreezePaneWrapper").style.width = "" + headerRow.scrollWidth + "px";
    headerRow.style.width = "" + headerRow.scrollWidth + "px";
    headerRow.style.position = "absolute";
    headerRow.style.top = ""+(headerRow.offsetTop-39)+"px";
    /* Tell the header's columns to be the same width as the cells in the first "alternating" row */
    var columns = document.querySelector("table.ms-listviewtable tr.ms-alternating").querySelectorAll("tr>td");
    headers = document.querySelectorAll("tr.ms-viewheadertr th");
    for(var i = 0; i < headers.length; i++){
    if(columns[i].scrollWidth > headers[i].scrollWidth){
    headers[i].style.width = ""+columns[i].scrollWidth + "px";
    }else{
    columns[i].style.width = ""+headers[i].scrollWidth + "px";
    </script>
    Edit: Also, you may want to inspect the HTML attributes on the external list view to be sure the class names match up with the querySelector parameters above. Specifically, the table should have a class of "ms-listviewtable", the header row should
    have a class of "ms-viewheadertr", and rows of alternating background color should have a class of "ms-alternating".
    If any of those are different in your case, you may be able to adjust the above code accordingly.

  • Dynamic select list in report based on other report column

    I have a report with three columns. The first column is the Id, the second is the name that matches the Id. In the third column I would
    like to have a list of values that are dependant on the Id in the first column.
    This is the query I have.
    SELECT c.category_id,
    c.category_name,
    APEX_ITEM.SELECT_LIST_FROM_QUERY(3, NULL,
    'SELECT option_name, option_id

    FROM invmodel_model m,
    invmodel_category c
    WHERE m.model_id = :P2_MODEL_ID
    This doesn't give any error, but I do not get any select list.
    I have tried various other ways to reference the category_id within the APEX_ITEM function, including:
    WHERE category_id = c.category_id (c.category_id is an invalid identifier)
    WHERE category_id = ''#CATEGORY_ID#''' (number error)
    As an example what I would like to see is
    Id Name Options
    1 Fruit Banana, Apple, Orange
    2 Vegetable Carrot, Potato, Onion
    Can anyone please tell me if this can be done, and how.

  • How to Change Column header in ALV List

    hello,
    is there a way to change the column header/label of an ALV list other than inheriting it from the source table it is bound to?
    thanks,
    sid

    Yes, you can.  If you are using a field catalog, you can change the field labels in your program.
    For example.
      data: fc_tmp type slis_fieldcat_alv .
      clear: fieldcat. refresh: fieldcat.
      clear: fc_tmp.
    <b>  fc_tmp-reptext_ddic    = 'Material Number'.</b>
      fc_tmp-fieldname  = 'MATNR'.
      fc_tmp-tabname   = 'IMARA'.
      fc_tmp-outputlen  = '18'.
      fc_tmp-col_pos    = 2.
      append fc_tmp to fieldcat.
    If you are using the MERGE funciton module to get your field catalog, then you just need to loop thru it and change the field which is holding the description, then modify the line of the field catalog.

    Rich Heilman
