Is .Flex the Extension for Flex?

I have a license file that was emailed to me for a software product we use (not related to Adobe). The extension of the file is .flex. Is this the extension of Flex Builder? I don't know anything about Flex. How do I use it? We really need a .dat file. Can flex be converted to dat?
BTW, the company that emailed the file will not return my messages regarding inquiries about the file or if it can be converted to .dat.
Thanks!

Flex is an SDK use to build Flash Applications.  It doesn't have a file type / file extension associated with it directly.
The code files that the Flex Compiler processes are usually ActionScript fies ( .as ) or MXML Files ( .mxml ).  The compiled results are either Flex Components ( .swc ) or Flash Movies ( .swf ).
I don't think your ".flex" license file has anything to do with Adobe Flex.
Google on .flex file extension and a few things come up:

Remove FLEXOSMF 4.0 tagging, the OSMF for Flex 4 version of this class lives in the display package
    Modified Paths:
        osmf/trunk/framework/OSMF/org/osmf/layout/ScaleMode.as

What I've done is remove osmf.swc from the Flex 4.0 sdk, then I added the new osmf.swc file to my libs folder for my project. Is there a for updating osmf in Flex 4.0 it works nativly with the sdk. The original reason why I got errors was because the frameworks/projects/osmf/src/OSMFClasses.as  packages in Flex 4 were not the same as the new osmf.swc (most of the flex 4 swc have these package reference files). So those would have to be updated every time the osmf packages change.

Yes but ... DataService and a lot of related things are
present in the online flex 2 docs (

What is the extension for mail in lion?

What do you mean exactly, that you're looking for com.apple.mail.plist?
If so, it should be in the Preferences folder like it always is. But Lion hides the Library folder, which holds the Preferences folder, so you'll probably have to use one of the techniques to reveal the Library folder.

  • Where are the Extensions for Creative Suite 4?

it's all in the title, where are the Extensions for Creative Suite 4? CS4 or CS3 or AS2 or AS3...

    Hi Patricia,
In order to support the new Omniture workflows, we had to use some new CSXS features and Flash Pro features that were implemented in CS5 only for these extensions to work. Specifically, in Flash Pro, to enable new communication workflows between the design view and CSXS panels, we've introduced several new events that are triggered from design view to update the panels.
We cannot backport these events to CS4, as this would be a very costly endeavor with limited applicability. In order to use the extensions, we recommend you moving to CS5. Aside from the extensions, you'll get also more than 250 great features, more speed, etc.
Regarding the AS2 or AS3 support - we have both for the Flash Pro Test&Target extension, and we only support AS3 for the SiteCatalyst extension.
    I hope this helps,
    Sincerely,
    Alexandru

  • What is the extension for debug log file name?

    Hi,
    1) Please let me know what is the extension for debug log file....
is it .dbg or .log ?
in one of the sr the service engineer asked to put .log as the extension is this correct?
    here is what he said...
    a) Enable the following Profiles at user level:
    OM: Debug Level = 5
    INV: Debug Trace = YES
    INV: Debug Level = 11
INV: Debug File = [directory value from above query]/logfilename.log
(make sure that you have write permission for this file and directory)
    WSH: Debug Enabled - Yes
    WSH: Debug Level - Statement
    2) do the end-user (for whom trace is enabled) need to have read and write permissions on the directory and the log file?
    Thanks

INV: Debug File = [directory value from above query]/logfilename.log
(make sure that you have write permission for this file and directory) It is what you set in the value of "INV: Debug File" profile option (according to the above value, it will be logfilename.log).
    2) do the end-user (for whom trace is enabled) need to have read and write permissions on the directory and the log file? No, just make sure the directory is writable by the oracle and applmgr users.

  • Setting file extension for flex download

Hi, I have a flex/flash download app that I use on my website, but a lot of people have trouble with it because they rename the file and accidentally remove the .zip from the end of the file name.  Is there any way that i can prevent this?  I have noticed that when i click to download, the "Save as Type" drop down is blank.  It looks like this:
    File name: myFileName.zip
    Save as type:
I'm hoping that im just missing a param that i can set to .zip so that it will look more like this:
    File name: myFileName
    Save as type: .zip
    Thanks!

    Hi,
You can restrict them to save in any other format by making the check.
Simply add listner for the Event.OPEN on the fileReference and inside this check for your allowed extension,if the extension is not what you want then
simply right a line there like:-
    fileReference.cancel();
And addtionally you can give any alert that your file should be of that particular extension.
    with Regards,

  • Where are the LiveDocs for Flex?

I can't find the LiveDocs from Adobe regarding flex development anymore. Where are they gone? A few days ago they were there.
For example the following URL from a Google search regarding E4X:
    https://www.google.de/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=2&cad=rja&ved=0CDkQFjAB&url=h ttp%3A%2F%2Flivedocs.adobe.com%2Fflex%2F3%2Fhtml%2F13_Working_with_XML_01.html&ei=XaawUoWw OK2V7AaPzYEo&usg=AFQjCNHW5gjQwn26e2SYcj3BTNhT64NNIw&bvm=bv.57967247,d.ZGU
When you search with Google all LiveDoc pages are gone and result in an overview page for flex.
Whats that. I think this source of information are very important for flex development.
    Why did they do that?

If you're looking for trash sounds, those are located in /System/Library/Components/CoreAudio.component/Contents/Resources/SystemSounds/ . If you're wanting to change the put stuff in trash and empty trash sounds, then follow these steps.
Convert your sounds to aif, save them in some convenient location.
Replace the two sound files *"move to trash"* and *"drag to trash"* inside the Finder and Dock folders, respectively, inside the SystemSounds folder, with the one you want for putting things in the trash and the *"empty trash*" one inside the Finder folder with the new one for emptying the trash.
Ensure that you rename the new ones the same as the originals. (I usually copy the originals and add a .bak suffix so I can restore the sounds to their original condition.)
OPTION-click the Finder's Dock icon and select Relaunch.
Do note that if you'll have to authenticate to copy, rename, and replace these files. I use the Terminal with the sudo command to affect the changes.

  • GWT meets  Flex:  Java API  for Flex

    Hello people,
I m  somedays away to release the  version 2.1 of gwt4air. gwt4air is an open source project  based on  gwt (http://code.google.com/webtoolkit/)  and provides a Java API to different platform where Java is not the primary language.
Version 2.0 added among other features  support for Adobe AIR, Alive PDF, Pure PDF, Aswing and other GWT based  UI libraries like  EXT-GWT
With version 2.1  i added support for Flex(AIR and Browser). The goal of this approach is to make it easy for Java Developers to switch  to Flex be leveraging  a swing like API. But also to  present an alternative to the classical Flex developement. The overall idea behind this is described here:
    http://code.google.com/p/gwt4air/wiki/Beginn
A demo application ca be found here: http://gwt4air.appspot.com/
The application contains around 100 demos with source code illustrating the use of the api.
I ve tried to keep the API similar to the AS3 api  so one could easely  switch from AS3 to Java and vice versa
Note that this  flex applicaton is entirely written in Java using gwt4air. No AS3 no MXML.
The application is still in alpha stage so please expect some errors.
The project home is located at:
    http://code.google.com/p/gwt4air/
I m looking forward to hear what you think about this idea. Any inputs (good or bad)  is really welcome
Help me make this an even better tool.
It s about time that  Flex rocks the GWT world
    cheers,
    Alain

It looks like those genius @google are also thinking about a Java(GWT) API for Flash .
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F_sbusEUz5w&t=1718
Glad to see  that i m not a fool
Or alteast not the only fool that believe  combining  Java and Flash/Flex is a potent mix.

  • Where are the extensions for versions older than CS6?

When I go to the Adobe Exchange at https://www.adobeexchange.com/, the only clickable option I see is to download Adobe Exchange panel for CS6. Since I'm running CS5.5 for Mac, this won't install. There's no search feature. When I go to http://www.adobe.com/ and do a search for Adobe Extensions for CS5.5 for Mac, I get taken to links that ultimately all point back to https://www.adobeexchange.com/. I am caught in an endless loop. Why is this so difficult now? It used to be so easy!

    Hi d.duffee1962,
There is a link in the Extension Manager CS6 web page which links to the older versions of Extensions Manager.
    Extension Manager CS5.5: http://www.adobe.com/exchange/em_download/em55_download.html

  • Is Flex the answer for our Remote image viewer project

My company has a new project and I am trying to figure out if
Flex (in conjunction perhaps with AIR) would be the best platform
to do this on. I am not a Flex developer...I have a ColdFusion
background, so I need your help to decide if we should go looking
    for a Flex Guru.
We need to grade digital papers remotely. The idea is that a
grader would launch this application and login. Then the system
would display a paper (a scanned image) on the screen and the
person would enter a score. The system would interface with the
backend via ColdFusion CFCs to a SQL server.
    Features we would like:
    1. The image pane would allow zooming of the image in case
some text was hard to read. Ideally it would allow real-time
brightness and contrast also, but perhaps that is asking too much.
    2. If the paper was multiple pages (it could be), then the
application would have an area which showed thumbsnails of each
page. The grader could click on the thumbnail to skip to other
    pages.
    3. I don't know about Flex/AIR security, but the entire
session would have to encrypted (SSL). Security is important on
this project. Can Flex/AIR be configured to stop/prevent screen
    capture?
    4. Is flex capable of good keyboard handling? We would like
to offer keyboard shortcuts for everything. If the grader types a
number, then we want to assume they are scoring the paper. If they
use the arrow keys, we want to flip between pages, etc.
    5. Can it handle image caching? Performance will be
important. So while the grade is looking at page one, we would want
to be downloading any additional pages in the background if the
paper was multi-page. Then once they flip to the next page it is
    instantaneous.
Any help would be appreciated. We are just starting to
research this project, and it looks like Flex/IR could be a strong
solution...but I am ignorant as to many of the capabilities.
    Thanks,
    Bryan

Thank you both for you answers. We will keep digging on a
Flex/AIR solution to this problem, as it seems pretty viable.
picnik looks to have a lot of the functions we need. Of
course we would need to leverage those functions in our own app. I
had come across the fig_panzoom thing...that looked very promising.
Could the image container dynamically size based on the size of the
application window? Since this would probably be a desktop AIR app,
the user could size it depending on their needs. Ideally the image
container would then also size accordingly (as a percentage of the
window). By not have a fixed size image container, a user with a
larger/higher res screen could see more of the image than someone
    with a smaller one.
For the image capture issue, I have seen some cases where I
am not able to easily take a screenshot of a flash applet. I have
tried to take screenshots and the flash area I am trying to capture
shows up as a black box. I don't know if this is an active
protection or just a fluke in my capture attempts. Ideally we would
want to try to prevent screen capture of our AIR app. I will take
that issue to the AIR forums I guess.
    Thanks again.
    Bryan

  • Install the Extensions for SharePoint Products

I have alrady migrate my TFS 2010 to the TFS2013 Update 4.
I have my Sharepoint Server 2010 in a diferent machine and i want to use the Sharepoint site that I have right  now with the nuew TFS 2013.
The installation guide describes that i have to install the new TFS Extensions that is located in the TFS 2013 ISO.
I have a 64-bit versions of Windows Server 2008 R2 (Standard) with SP1 in the Sharepoint server, and when i try to run the setup of the TFS 2013 I have the following message
"Error: TF400534: Package (tfs_Dev11ObjectModel_x64_lang) caching failed with the following status: 0x800B0003"
    Jose David Luna
    Bogota - Colombia

While not identical, this blog post for TFS 2012 install suggests that your installation media is corrupt:
    http://bartwullems.blogspot.com/2013/08/error-tf400534-package.html
May be due to low disc space or bad sectors on the hard drive, or... Try copying it over again. Maybe to a different location. If your storage allows, leave the original package in place to be sure the new copy does not use any of the potentially bad sectors.

  • I would like that when I insert files. the endings of the files appear in the Layers palette. Otherwise I have to add manually the extensions (for example ".png") to generate assets for all layers.

I Would appreciate a practical solution

Drag and Drop or placing over the menu gives the same result. Scripting is the only solution here .. i think so
