Is it necessary to put .java file in 'bin' folder

when ever i am creating a .java file i have to put that in bin folder then only javac compiling the file.
otherwise its not compiling the file.
how can i compile my java file by putting in any folder of mine?
even if i am creating any folder inside the bin folder then also its not compiling my .java file.

when ever i am creating a .java file i have to put
that in bin folder then only javac compiling the
file. That's a huge mistake. You should never do that.
otherwise its not compiling the file.
how can i compile my java file by putting in any
folder of mine?Add the Java /bin directory to your PATH so the operating system can find the javac.exe and java.exe apps.
even if i am creating any folder inside the bin
folder then also its not compiling my .java file. Then you've got a bigger problem. You must have compiler errors that you need to read and fix in your source code.

  • Is there an add-in for FF that will direct files based on the type? i.e. put graphic files in a folder called graphics, program files in a folder called exe etc?

I would like FF to be able to sort my downloads into categories, to put program files into a folder called exe, to put graphic files into a folder called pics ,etc. Can this be done?

The Firefox download manager isn't set up to do that, but I understand there are a few external download managers that offer a feature like that.

  • How to put java files in  *.jar

I have 5 *.java files in 1 directory. I want to put those 5 classes in a *.jar file without using some special tool. How is the best way to do that.
It is something with the command prompt?
    All help welcome.

    What is a 'special' tool?
If you want to write your own jar app then feel free. You should probably need to do some research on zip files.
If not then I suggest you use "jar" which will put anything into a jar file that you want.

  • Where to put java files in weblogic ????

Hi, I am new to ejb and weblogic, today I downloaded weblogic6.0 and install it in windows2000, and I started reading an article like tutorial from java.sun, for example here http://developer.java.sun.com/developer/onlineTraining/Beans/EJBTutorial/step2.html
it said to save the file Demo.java, could you please show me where in Weblogic6.0 should I save them.
    thanks

    Hi Majid,
If you look at the code for the Remote interface you were coding. It says something about a package.
    >> package ejb.demo;
This means that the .java file you are writing needs to be SAVED under the demo directory.
    Eg: c:\weblogic\ejb\demo
If this is where you have created the directory structure to reflect the package ejb.demo.
Then you have to save all the files for the example at hand to the demo directory.
Next is when you compile, make sure you move to weblogic directory and then compile the .java files.
    Eg: c:\weblogic > javac ejb\demo\demo.java
    javac ejb\demo\demoHome.java
    javac ejb\demo\demoBean.java
I hope you find this useful.
    Cheers,
    Nive

  • JSP/EJB compilation:  don't put .java files in EJB jars!

I was having trouble compiling a JSP that uses an EJB remote interface.
The Weblogic console printed an error like this:
              Thu Aug 31 14:13:58 PDT 2000:<E> <ServletContext-General> Compilation of
              D:\weblogic\myserver\classfiles\jsp_servlet\_hl
              og.java failed:
              D:\weblogic\myserver\tmp_deployments\ejbjar-6787.jar(hlog/ejb/LogEntry.java):5:
              class LogEntry
is public, should be declared in a file named LogEntry.java
              (source unavailable)
              1 error
The fix was not to include source files in my EJB jar. Before I was
              using a simple jar command:
              >jar -cf hlog.jar hlog META-INF
Which of course included both class and source files in the jar (I
didn't see the harm in this).
              I changed to:
              >jar -cf hlog.jar hlog\ejb\*.class META-INF
              and the problem went away.
Thought this might save y'all some time and grief...

  • No java file in application folder

After most recent update of Java, the Java does not work.  Looked for Preference file in application file and there is not one.  What do I do?

Applications > Utilities > java Preferences.
http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1572 Gives you an idea what the update did if it was 2012-006
However, I understood there was a later one than that which removed Java SE6 altogether and provided a redirect to Oracle's website to download the latest Java 7 version.
Can't find that one on Support Downloads now?

  • Import to library puts all files in one folder

Okay I got my library messed up during the iPhoto'09 to iPhoto'11 upgrade. I know there is way to fix it but I thought I might as well start over with a fresh new library and import all my photos into it to avoid any further issues.
In my old iPhoto library the photos are organized under Originals by YEAR and then EVENTS (in my case date of picture taken). I copied the "Originals" folder from my old library and put it on the desktop.
I then created a new empty library with iPhoto'11 and now tried to import the pictures from the folder on the desktop. It all worked about 6,000 pictures but it didn't quiet organize them as I wanted.
If I look into the new library there is now a "Masters" folder which contains only one other folder which is 2010 which only contains one other one which is "10" and that contains "16" - so obviously the date 2010-10-16 and then all events are in this last folder.
It seems importing has the result of the folder structure being based on the date of import, rather the date of picture taken.
Does anybody know a way how I can get this do import and create folder structure based on date of picture taken?
    Thanks!

    You can not
the file/folder structure within the iPhoto library is not a user controlled item - it is controlled by iPhoto and must be left as is - simply put there are no suer serviceable (or controllable) parts in the iPhoto library
And there is no need for you to control (or even be aware) of the iPhoto library structure - you should not be going directly into the iPhoto library and the OS access tools know the current structure and use it so you do not have to
If you are concerned about accessing your photos click here for a discussion on the many correct and safe ways to access your iPhoto library photos.

  • HT1694 Why is it when I delete my junk mail on my pc they don't disappear on my iPad or iPhone. As well when I put a file in a folder it doesn't go in the folder on other devices. Why is it that u have to delete junk mail one at a time. Very annoying

Why does my junk mail delete on pc but not on iPad or iPhone  why do I have to delete each one seperately on these devices and why do my files go into folders on the pc and don't appear on iPad or iPhone

Not too sure about the last part of your post but you have to manage your emails on each device if you are using a Pop3 account. It is only IMAP which provides for synchronisation across all devices. If you are not familiar with this then Google IMAP AND POP3 for more information.

  • How to put a file in a folder, which folder is already in the Bookmarks menu

I opened a file in WORD and saved it on my desktop. from desktop I want to enter it in the folder titled BOOKS TO READ, which folder is already entered in my Bookmarks Menu.
I use Windows 8 and Firefox and Gmail.

Generally speaking, all bookmarks need to have a URL that Firefox can load. This is difficult for Word documents because Firefox doesn't have the native capability to display them, so if you try to open a Word document in Firefox, it always displays the Open/Save/Cancel dialog. This may make it impossible to get the file:// address of the Word document into the Firefox address bar.
That said, you could try using Ctrl+O to open the file from the desktop, or try dragging the document into an open Firefox tab, and see whether you can get the address to appear in the address bar.
    Any luck?

I am trying to find a way to have a folder set up so that when I add to the folder(on the Desktop) a copy of the folder is also updated on an external hard drive. So I can have two copies of the contents of the folder, one on the desktop and one on the hard drive.

  • Opened a bogus email *.zip file from amazon that put two files in my downloads folder OSX 10.8

    Hi
Can anyone advise my next steps to take, I accidentally opened a bogus email *.zip file attachment from 'Amazon" It unzipped an put two files in my downloads folder one appeared to be a *.exe file. They were deleted immediately along with the email.
Now I am terrified that there is something lurking on my system...trojan/ keylogger/ virus..
I am no expert so can anyone give me help!
My mac is 8 months old running OSX 10.8 with latest updates.
    Thanks Mick

Thank you both, you have put my mind at rest.
Normally I am red hot at intercepting bogus emails, not today it would appear!
I actually was in the process of deleting it and double clicked the file by complete accident, and in a flash it had opened up and put the files in the folder, I spent the rest of the afternoon panicing and reading all forums blogs etc..
Actually Thomas I found your blog and took some good tips from it, one of them was to switch java off immediately.
    Thanks again

  • Missing java file via eclipse.please help

There is a java file missing in my eclipse when i do an update
    via svn.
the error class the class shows 'Trade cannot be resolved to a type
How do I import via SVN fo that specific file that is missing?
I tried doing a fresh update but still its missing?
    please help

    Suresh,
there are multiple ways to achieve that. If it is a "pure" java application create a java project.
If you put java files into portal, webservice etc projects, they be compiled with the projects build process.
To compile a single class you have also the option to configure an entry in the tool section (which points to javac for example) and run the tool, when your file is open (like in Visual Studio).

  • Creating .jnlp files from .java files

Last resort: Ask on the forums. I'm having a lot of trouble creating .jnlp files with only a .java file. For some reason if I do create project, the project does not run correctly, but when I make the file and run the file alone, it works perfectly fine. Most of the tutorials that I have read online ask me to do weird manifest .class stuff (in order to make JAR files, which i have failed to do even after attempting to make one after 3 hours). And still, when it comes to make the .jnlp file, I don't quite understand anything. When putting it on the web, I'm planning not to use php (html is in my mind right now), and I have aborted every single attempt at making the JAR files and whatnot.
At this point, I'm not asking for anything other than a link to a tutorial that actually works, because all that I have tried (for the JAR files, especially) have been giving me errors. By the way, one really bothersome output that comes up is the "illegal option: j" when I use the Tool for the JAR file, and I have no idea what that means--I google it and find nothing. The .java itself extends JPanel, so it isn't really an applet.
    How to: Run an Applet
Create an Applet Class by clicking File > New > File > File Type > Java Classes > Applet Class.
Enter a name and path for the applet and click Finish.
Build the file by pressing F7.
Create an Applet HTML file by clicking File > New > File > File Type > Other > HTML Applet.
Enter a name and path for the applet and click Finish.
Open the HTML file in JCreator and modify the applet tag to match the name of the applet class.
Open the Project Settings window and select the HTML file as the Run parameter.
Click the Run Project button. It isn't really a code, but I tried doing this and the HTML Applet said code = ".class" Again, I don't have a class for the file. And when you do the "File > New > File > File Type > Java Classes > Applet Class," you get the .java file and a folder that says "components, with two classes in it. I was completely befuddled.
