Is it possible to force a single decimal in a specific column in the formula?

I am working with a report where the decimal placement needs to change in different columns of the same row (due to unions). Therefore, I am looking to show only 1 digit after the decimal point in one cell out of the whole row. Is there a formula I can use that will override the decimal settings made in the column properties tab? I tried to truncate and round but it does not show the proper number of digits after the decimal.
If anyone knows of a solution or workaround, that'd be great!

If you look in the first picture, you will notice that my volume row has the decimal number set to 0 to show only whole numbers. However, you will also see that the last column, union 5, is a % variance from union 3 vs union 4. In union 5, I am hoping to enter something in the formula for that column to force OBIEE to display a number in the following format XX.X instead of XX.
I haven't had any luck using truncate, round, or cast unfortunately...

Possible to delete Offline Files content for a specific user from the Client Side Cache (CSC) ?.

Hello Everyone,
We would like to implement a script to delete the offline files in the Client Side Cache (CSC) for a nominated user (on Windows 7 x64 enterprise).
I am aware that;
1. We can use a registry value to flush the entire CNC cache (for all users) next time the machine reboots.
2. If we delete the user's local profile it appears that Windows 7 also removes their content from the local CSC.
However, we would like to just delete the CSC content for a particular nominated user without having to delete their local user profile.
In our environment we have many users that share workstations but only use them occasionally. We don't use roaming profile so we would like to retain all the users' local profiles but still delete the CSC content for any users that haven't
logged on in a week.
Any ideas or info would be appreciated !

please i am having some invoices from external system imported into oracle through interface , i want to import this invoices as approved or exclude it from the ap invoices approval workflow

Hi Aparnna,
If approval has been switched on, each change on an approved document will put this changed document into the starting point of the workflow again.
For endusers (with only read permission on that document), that means that the document isn't published any more (as long as it isn't published by approval again).
If versioning has been activated, it's a bit different. In this case, the end-users always see the last document in the version list which has been published: If V1 has been published, and somebody creates a V2 of the same document by changing it's content, this V2 has to be approved again, and as long this hasn't been done, end-users still see V1. As soon as V2 has been approved, end-users will see V2.

i wanted to place the current date into a gas milage numbers document, and I foolishly
used =Today().
Well the second time I entered the date as above I noticed that the previous entries had
of course been changed to the current date ;(
ie the Today function is re-evaluated whenever the spreadsheet is re-opened.
Is there a slick way of forcing a single evaluation of functions like Today() ?

I have a keyboard shortcut for Insert > Date & Time that has been working faithfully for about two years now. Prior to that I hadn't had good luck, so it may be my choice of key combination that I assigned to this action. If you'd like to try it, I use:
Shift-Option-Command-D

Is it possible to populate cell A with the formula in cell B as opposed to the value of the formula in cell B dynamically?

I am wondering if the following scenario is possible:
Cell B contains a formula which refers to a number of other cells.
Cell A refers to Cell B such that the formula in Cell B is applied in Cell A.
I am aware that I can copy and paste, but I am wanting to do this dynamically, for the following reason.
In order to avoid constructing a very complicated formula which involves lots of tricky IF functions, I use a formula with a chain of simpler IF functions, such as follows:
=IF(A1=1,B1,IF(A1=2,B2,IF(A1=3,B3,IF(A1=4,B4,IF(A1=5,B5,IF(A1=6,B6,IF(A1=7,B7,"" )))))))
Then in B1-B7 I include the complicated formulas, and depending on which value is actually in cell A1 that particular formula is applied in the cell (i.e the cell is populated with the respective formula).
Is it possible to use Numbers in this way, or if not, is there another way of achieving my goal (i.e. to avoid having to construct one very long and complicated formula)?

Here, in standard cells of column B the formula is :
=IF($A=1,C,IF($A=2,D,IF($A=3,E,IF($A=4,F,IF($A=5,G,"")))))
Here, in standard cells of column C the formula is :
=$A*10
Here, in standard cells of column D the formula is :
=$A^2
Here, in standard cells of column E the formula is :
=$A*12345
Here, in standard cells of column F the formula is :
=$A+10000
Here, in standard cells of column G the formula is :
=20000-$A
Here, in standard cells of column H the formula is :
=OFFSET($A$1,ROW()-1,A+1)
Here, in standard cells of column I the formula is :
=CHOOSE($A,C,D,E,F,G)
Here, in standard cells of column J the formula is :
=IF($A=1,$A*10,IF($A=2,$A^2,IF($A=3,$A*12345,IF($A=4,$A+10000,IF($A=5,20000-$A," ")))))
As you see, the formulas used in column B,H, I, require the use of the columns C, D, E, F, G
The one used in column I doesn't require these columns.
When a task requires a complex formula, I often used the columna A thru G
then when I'm sure that the formula in column B return behave exactly what I want, I replace in the formula of column B the references to columns C thru G by the formula embedde in the pointed columns minus the equal symbol.
It's what I did to build the formula of column J.
If you build the sample table, you will see that the formula in column I isn't perfect because it return a red triangle when the cell in column A is empty.
I decided to leave it as is and created an enhanced synthetic formula for column K:
=IFERROR(CHOOSE(A,$A*10,$A^2,$A*12345,$A+10000,20000-$A),"")
As you see a single problem may receive different answers.
Sometimes, one is clearly the best, sometimes it's matter of taste.
Here my best choice would be the very last one which I added for column K.

Is it possible to load an external swf at a specific frame?

Hey! I've got a flash file which acts as the main menu for a
program I'm developing. Everything works fine from the main menu
however when you click to return to the main menu the whole main
menu file reloads. Is it possible to use loadMovieNum( ) to go to a
specific frame within the main swf file? If not, is there a way to
do this?
Here's the button code I'm using now:

First let me clarify one thing with you. Level zero is the
main level on the flash
player. By loading things in level zero you will remove
current content and replace
it with the new one. This is not a good idea because it works
like purge, clears the
player and from there on you can't maintain any functionality
unless you reload the
whole html document over again. Also, do not unload and load
in the same time in the
same level. Flash can hold single SWF per level, once you
load content, whatever previously
loaded will be automatically replaced, so just the loadMovie
action and you all set.
Good practice is to have the main level (zero) an empty base
and than load and unload
things in above levels, 1 and so on...

In regard to the load and go to. Yes it is possible but no
matter what frame you want to
go to,you need to load the whole movie first. I will come
back to that in a second.
While you execute the loadMovie action, you can set up a
variable, for example:
loadMovieNum("file.swf", 1);

Than in the loaded movie you have preloader which makes sure
that the movie is loaded before
playing and once done loading, make it jump to frame which
has IF ELSE condition in some kind
of loop, using setInterval or Enterframe. That condition
checks for the variable value and based
on it proceed to particular frame.
That's why I told you not to clear level zero, if you set
variable and load movie in that level
in the same time, all the information will be gone and you
have totally no reference point to
get the variable from.
You could as well use shared object which is native form of
Flash's cookies. Write SOL file into
user drive temp folder, than read it from the other file and
go to frame based on the given value.

Is it possible to force 16/32-bit stack alignment without using the optimizer?

The compiler emits code targeted at the classic Pentium architecture for the -m32 memory model. I'm running into problems mixing Sun Studio compiled code with code built with other compilers because the other compiler builds under the assumption that the stack is 16-byte aligned.
The only way I've found to force Sun Studio to comply with that restriction is with -xarch={sse2a,sse3,...}, but this causes the code to pass through the optimizer. As noted in the documentation, if you want to avoid optimizations you must remove all flags that imply optimizations -- that is to say, there's no way to disable optimizations once enabled. This should not, however, be treated as an optimization because it's an ABI requirement.
I've scoured the documentation, spent many hours googling, digging through forums, and asking questions.
The best I've come up with is the -xarch option which is sub-optimal because it has side effects. I tried -xchip=pentium4 (this is what my other compilers have set as their default target), but the generated code doesn't force 16-byte stack alignment.
Is there a way to force the compiler to emit code conforming to a different ABI without using the optimizer?

I ask because your username / profile don't give the impression you work for Oracle, so while I think you're probably right it's at least possible that we're both mistaken. I haven't been able to find any documentation on either stack alignment or altering the targeted ABI short of using the -xarch flag, and even there the details are fairly sketchy.

If you want to create a textbox for the visitors to enter text, then you need to enter a form, and you can delete the "message" field from the "simple contact" form, but not the name and the email fields (those are mandatory and can't be deleted).
You may want to check external forms in case you want to have the form rather customized, to check if you can have forms with single textbox. An example would be "Jotform".

I originally had the app (FilmOn.TV) on my iPhone, so it is backed up in my iTunes on my PC. It's no longer available in the App Store and I would really like to have it on my iPad. When I read up on this, it seems to say that if I sync any apps from my iTunes onto my iPad, that any Apps currently on the iPad will be deleted.
Can anyone tell me, please, is it possible to bring one single App across onto my iPad, without losing all of my existing ones.

i'm wondering if it's possible to have a single audio clip play over more than one page in an interactive pdf generated in indesign cs5.5? in the media preview it seems to work but when i export to pdf the audio stops playing when i move to the next page, even when the "stop on page flip" is NOT checked in the media object options box.
what i want is the oppositite of an object with multiple states; looking for a single media object with multiple pages. thoughts? i'm publishing song lyrics, need to have the audio playing through the whole text of the piece when it runs to the next page.

Your best bet would be to publish an interactive Flash file and if you need that to be on an iOS device get someone with an iOS developer license to convert the published Flash file into an iOS app. You might even be able to convert the Flash file into an epub like a digital magazine but I am inexperienced with this aspect of InDesign. There are good tutorials that I've seen briefly on creating epub digital magazines from InDesign though so do some research on it and report back.
Have you explored any of this thus far? I hope you get some good results.

The InDesign method Steve mentions is the best option. You can also place it in Illustrator as an import but you'll need to have the same fonts as the PDF file. This option will allow you to edit the files, pending what objects are editable. It will have a few quirks, and the text lines might be separate objects.
I'd go InDesign, but just in case you don't have ID, you can use Illustrator, but be prepared for a little work.
