Is it possible to share iBook purchases with my wife. I have turned on home sharing but it only permits her to share my music.
I would like to share books that I have purchased either on my mac or Ipad with my wife who also has her own mac and Ipad. I have activated home sharing but am only able to share my music. Is there a way to share my iBooks with her. It seems like such a waste to purchase a book and be the only one in my family able to read it.
Homesharing was not turned on on my computer. I turned it on and it works just fine. Thank you for your help. Happy holidays!!

Where are you looking on your iPad for the shows? In iTunes? If so, look under Videos.

I purchased an album from the itunes store on my Ipad2 thinking i could access it from my windows laptop where I sync my ipod. I turned on Home Sharing and can see my laptop libraries from my ipad but not vice versa. Is there any way to fix this so I can transfer the album to the itunes on my laptop?
Yes I tried that. I finally turned off all home sharing settings, shut down my desktop and found them in my account settings in the store on the cloud. So at that point I just had it download everything. But I suspect that with the ipad somehow being on, the store was saying I had already received them? Regardless, my trip today whilst running errands, I was rocking out to vintage Police music! Thank you so much for responding.

I am trying to use the Home Sharing capabilities on my MacBook and my sister's HP Envy. I have turned Home Sharing both On and Off via Advance in the drop down from the top menu. When I turn Home Sharing Off then back On, it asks me for the Apple ID so I provide the same one on both then it tells me a little blurb about Home Sharing and I hit Done then the Share section on the left side of iTunes disappears. Where does it go and how do I make it come back? Thanks for yor help!

I have just set up home sharing, but all that has come up on the new computer is all my individual tracks and not my playlists, also there are no sign of my audio books... Is this normal?? Any advice appreciated...
I'm sorry, but your sister, unless she had already turned on the "Find my iPhone" feature and the person who took the phone has not disabled it, is out of luck. She should report the theft to local police authorities, including the serial number of her iPhone. While her experience is unfortunate, there are good reasons why Apple cannot do anything else about it.
I hope she gets her phone back.

ibooks are tied to your iTunes account, and they can't be lent or transferred to other accounts - so unless they have access to your iTunes account then no.

I am aware of home sharing but this only works when you are on the network i am lead to believe. I work away alot i would also like to access this content when i am away and not connected to the home network. is there a way around this?

IanLet me be a bit more clear. I am able to sync to her phone the music from my library but when she tried to play any of the music purchased from itunes the song will not play. What am I missing?

I share my calendar with my wife. Every time I create a new event, it alerts her to it by send her an email. She thinks this is just my "spam" and wants me to turn it off. I can't figure out how to do this. Can someone give me the answer? Thanks
I think (and I'll double check) only the BBLink events will sync on a wired USB sync. I'm fairly certain of that.
You'll need to use your calendar syncing via an EAS email account (outlook.com, for instance, is free) to sync wirelessly. It works great. I use it and was a former tied to the USB sync guy as well... and I thought I was gonna die a painful death without it. I found more freedom this way.
This explains the process. But I don't think you'll get BBM Groups to sync.

go to settings- itunes app store- click appleid and view account - may need password - then under billing info select none. however it will auto use the gift card regardless first

Then the answer is that each of you purchases and syncs from your respective iTunes accounts and Apple IDs, therefore to transfer any purchased item from one iPad to the other would require syncing that iPad with the other person's account, and that will mess up all your respective synced data.
Of course you can swap iPads for bookreading, I suppose. -
I just started using home sharing. Does this allow you to share imported cd's or only purchased songs?
We are able to share imported CDs. In fact I got a USB record player so all my vinyl albums are being shared even though my 16 year old son doesn't seem too excited for my music :-)
