Is it possible to simulate a table for reference in  the "Custom Calculation Script" in Acrobat?

I am attempting to simulate a table in a Acrobat form where the formula looks at the number or name from another field and looks through the code for the name or number reference and returns the value associated with the number or name. Is this possible in Acrobat forms?

Yes, it's possible. You can get the name of the field that is being calculated using event.target.name, and then you can manipulate that name to get a row number (for example) and access other fields in that row.

    In that case the for loop would be:
        for (var i = 0; i < 8; i += 1) {
            sum += +getField("Total." + i).value;
    So initially, the counter i is equal to zero, so the field name used with the getField method is:
    "Total." + 0, which results in the string "Total.0". With each iteration, the variable i is incremented by 1, so the subsequent field names are the following:
    "Total.1"
    "Total.2"
    "Total.3"
    "Total.4"
    "Total.5"
    "Total.6"
    "Total.7"
    The script gets the value of each field, converts it to a number, and adds the number it to the running sum.

    Basically I need the script to get the number from the first column and return the associated number (in same row) in the second column.
    The second table I need to simulate is a little more complex as it uses text and has multiple columns:

    0
    16
    Carl
    0
    20
    4
    Josh
    2
    8
    19
    It will pull the names from one field then the stations from another and return the cross referenced value.

    An object is a good way to implement this. For the first, the object would look like this:
    var oT1 = {
        "5" : 0.1,
        "50" : 2,
        "75" : 6,
        "100" : 12
    To get the value associated with the 100 property, the code would look something like:
    var val = oT1["100"];
    The variable "val" would then contain the number 12.
    For the second, the value of each object property could be an array, something like:
    var oT2 = {
        "Debbie" : [5, 0, 16],
        "Carl" : [0, 20, 4],
        "Josh" : [2, 8, 19]
    To get the second item in the array for the "Josh" array, the code would look like:
    var val = oT2["Josh"][1];
    To get the last item in the "Debbie" array, you could do this:
    var val = oT2["Debbie"][2];
    Array indexes are zero-based, so the second item has an index of 1, third item is 2, etc..

    You could also try table DD01T. In se 16,put in the description thats needed,you will get to know the respective data elements.
    Then you can use DD03L to find the respective table. This would work if the data element is not generic.

    So one has two check boxes and one wants them to be mutually exclusive. Name them the same and change the export value of the field. Try it and observe what happens as you check the different check boxes.
    You have described what happens if either box is checked but what happens when a checked box Is unckecked?
    One can place scripts in many locations. I would use a mouse up action for both the check boxes, use the same script for both check boxes.
    I would assume you are using the following names for the fields to populate:
    Company
    Address
    CityStateZip
    ContactName
    PhoneNumber
    Email

       Looking for a custom calculation script that will apply a percentage increase to a default value when the value of another cell goes above certain numbers. Crude example below.
    Y is the cell that the script will be applied to.
    if value of cell X > 10 then value of cell Y = default value * .10 ..... for 10%
    if value of cell X > 20 then value of cell Y = default value * .20...... for 20%
    if value of cell X > 30 then value of cell Y = default value * .30....... for 30%

    I've inserted the picture above to help. This is a sizing form for pants for a fire department that will be filled out at the department by the firefighter. The manufacturer that makes the pants passes along a 10% upcharge for anyone with a waist 44-50, a 20% upcharge for anyone with a waist 52-54, and a 30% upcharge for anyone with a waist 56-58. The $42.95 in the "Price" cell is the default price for anyone with a waist that does not meet up-charging penalties (Less than a 44 waist). What I am trying to do is if the firefighter plugs in let's say a waist of 50" the "price' cell will update to show an increase of 10%. ($47.24). If he plugs in a waist of 52" the "price" cell will update to show an increase of 20% ($51.54). If he plugs in a waist of 56" the "price" cell will update to show an increase of 30% ($55.83). I hope that makes sense. I know it can be frustrating helping someone that may not know all the ins and outs like a lot of you do so I greatly appreciate your patience and your help!

    If you ordered Acrobat via subscription, then you can use either Windows or Mac version.  Just download/install the Mac version, then activate it with your Adobe ID.

    Haven't seen this done but thought I'd ask, is it possible to simulate a spreadsheet interface in Apex? Basically, I have 9 columns each of which needs to be filled out for 10 time periods per day (row), and it's easiest for the user to tab across the columns then down to a new row / next timeslot, to fill out the whole day's worth of data, rather than entering hour by hour & then changing the timeslot manually. This would require that the value for column 1 of row 1 = 8, column 1 of row 2 = 9, column 1 of row 3 = 10 and so on. So, a tabular form but with static values on each row.
    Is this possible & if so, any pointers to what to start researching to make this work would be greatly appreciated. I know they can work in a spreadsheet & upoad it and we may go that way but this seemed like an interesting problem to see if Apex could handle it; I just am uncertain where to start on it is all.

    you can use vlookup() (or any of the lookup family of functions) to locate an item based on a key value:
    Here is an example of something you can do with two tables:
    The table on the right is title "Data" and stores a list of names with age and favorite color.
    The table on the left uses the value in the first column to lookup up information in the table Data
    in the table on the left:
    B2=IFERROR(A2&" is " & VLOOKUP(A2, Data :: A:D, 2, 0)&" years old and likes the color "& VLOOKUP(A2, Data :: A:D, 3, 0), "NOT FOUND")
    I know this look complicated.  so I'll break it up into smalled pieces:
    first the "&" is called the concatenate operator and joins two strings.  like this:
    a string is a set of characters between double quotes.
    so "string 1" & "string 2" becomes "string 1string2"  or "Sam " & "Jones" becomes "Sam Jones"
    you can use cell references instead of strings directly in which case the concatenation is performed on the contents of the cells.
    so if cell A1 contains "Hi " and the cell A2 contains "There"  then A1 & A2 will result in "Hi There"
    so you could add the formula
    A3=A1 & A2
    this is short hand for select cell A3 then type everything including the A3 so that A3 contains "=A1 & A2" (omit the double quote)
    OK.  So the formula I provided concatenates several items together:
    it concatenates A2, then the string " is " then a formula, then the string " years old and likes the color " then a formula
    the two formulas (highlighted in blue) perform a lookup of the value in cell A2 in columns A thru D of the table named "Data".  If if finds the value in cell A2 in the first column of the lookup range in the table Data (column A) then it returns the value from the same row but in the second or third column.
    all that is in a function calld iserror() to trap the condition where the calue you enter in A2 does not exist in the table Data:

    I have a question regarding the ftp-receiver-communication-channel.
    I have configured an integration scenario for a file-transfer via ftp to New York. I use the File/FTP-Adapter from SAP. I send the files in the passive ftp mode, but only the filename (no content) is created at the ftp server in new york. we get the error: 425 --- Can't open data connection. The Firewall and so on is open for this process and we tested it from other servers. There occurred always the same exception. We have no idea where the mistake could be.
    When we arrange FTP-connects with a ftp-programm (for example WS_FTP) we use a proxy. And it's working.
    Here my Question:
    Is it possible to register a proxy / ftp-proxy in the xi-system or in the File/FTP-Adapter?

    When you connect to any FTP server it writes some dump to your local system first then opens the data connection. So check whether you have provided neccessary rights on the XI server so that it writes to the local system...
       I think thats when it throws that error...
       Also check whether you have opened necessary ports...it uses port 21and 1024+ ports for passive connections and 21 and 23 for active connections....
       Are you connecting to the other ports rather than standard port 21....then also try connecting through port 21 because if you use other ports it won't work sometimes. Its worth trying with port 21 because if FTP is on UNIX box....the inet daemon on unix box automatically reroutes to the appropriate port after it recieves the connection from port 21.
          And also did you tried connecting to FTP server through you XI server using some other FTP client.
