Is it realistic to ask if Apple can purchase Nintendo?

MIcrosoft and Sony has cell phones and a game console. so why can't Apple do the same? Nintendo is struggling right now with the Wii so why can't Apple reach out and negotiate a deal where they can purchase the nintendo console, is it possible?

Hi Eric,
very understandable sentiments, but Apple is notorious for not saying anything about "future products".
Personally, I'd guess that Leica R8 support will be slow in the coming. The R8 may be very expensive, and maybe it's also very good, but in these days and times I doubt that it will be used much by those who earn money with their photos.
In three years' time, it will be hopelessly outdated, as most today's cameras will be; and for that, it's simply too dear. Thus, only a few elite R8 users, and thus not a lot of revenue for Apple - the time they'd need for R8 support may be spent more productively (for Apple) elsewhere.
Apple has so far focused on mainstream camera brands, and since their Raw support is very, very good and meticulously tested - take a look at the Raw.plist's parameters! - they'll have a hard time keeping their current line-up of supported cameras maintained. They won't add new cameras all that quickly, I believe.
On the other hand, I also have the feeling that there is a certain amount of loving care within the Aperture developer team for their product, and thus it might very well be that someone ther adds R8 Raw support just for the sake of it. I don't think that it's always cold business decisions at Apple.
So I wish you lots of luck. I had it with Pentax *ist DS support - a camera that isn't even produced anymore -, which was long in the making, but finally came with the Raw update.
Cheers,
Karl
